Current I'm tempted to say "I've lost better friends than you" to a lote of people lately. I'm not sure what I ever want to say to the better friends that I've lost, though.

Bio

Twelve years ago, I said something on this website that continues to embarrassing me to this day. I was a stupid kid, like most, but I've never quite gotten the taste out of my mouth. Anyone who knew me at the time can tell you about it.

I love this website. I'm pretty sure my phylactery is stored wherever the webserver is and a significant chunk of me will just disappear when it ceases operation. Until then, it comforts me. I should go to the hardware store and paint my bedroom walls with the same soft, brownish grey that the background color has been for the last twelve years. Some of my friends can't wait for the site to go offline but I don't know of any other places that offer the same sense of community.

I'm an omni-gamer. I like board games, tabletop roleplaying games, admire tabletop war games, suck at riddles, and have an absurd library of video games. Survival horror is basically my favorite genre. Otherwise I'm a fan of esoteric, occult bullshit and punk rock. But disco's cool. Disco is what humanity sounds like when it chooses to be happy. Between you and I, I'd like to hope that the days of my life can sparkle like a disco ball, accreting like sparks from a grinder held up against the unwavering dark of deaths own shadow. Burn baby burn.

You and I, we're gonna die. We should be friends first, though. Write some checks we can't cash and make eachother smile. Make believe for a while.

Eh, Pistolera and BP9 are really distinct. I tried to emulate that. Basically the answer is: I think so.

It probably doesn't help that I'm basically using one of the GMs least favorite powers.
For my real, deliberate P2 I've taken a page out of Sam's book by making a character with a plot and unique mythology surrounding them, making sure they will affect the plot in a serious way, and giving the team a real internal problem while also providing unique advantages. And secrets. He is meant to strongly resemble other DC characters, just a few that factor in as plot points.

NAME:
Nigel Lucas

ALIAS:
Blacklight
**L***O Corpsman 2814

ABILITIES/SKILLS/EQUIPMENT:
The Dark Ring: A technologically advanced tool/weapon that operates, in many ways, similarily to the Green Lantern Corps' rings. Manipulating a substance called shadow mass, black material that repels all light, he can create constructs of various shapes and sizes that appear to be a deep darkness. The Shadow Mass is defaultedly contained in an ultra-dense diamond shaped construct that is attatched to the ring itself. Temporarily trading the constructive powers, he can transform his body into shadow mass that carries his consciousness while his original body is stored within the ring.

Shadow Form:

 • Flight: A combination of low anatomical density and dark matter propulsion enables him to fly like a rocket, but direct himself with greater accuracy.
 • Immunity: He cannot be damaged in his shadow-state by blunt force or cutting. An object may pass through him, such as a bullet or a blade, but any object at unsafe speeds will pass through him instead of ricocheting unless he consciously chooses to be moved by it instead.
 • Selective Intangibility: He can pass through solid objects by sliding the molecules of shadow mass past others, in a similar manner to the ability of the Flash family.
 • Shadow Travel: He gains the ability to travel through large or connected shadows as though they are a river, thus enabling extremely fast travel.
 • Super-Strength: When in this form he is very capable of exerting kinetic power well beyond the superhuman limit and placing him in between the strength class of Gotham City's Bane and Fawcett's Captain Marvel.

LIMITATIONS AND WEAKNESSES:
While he uses the ring as a means to craft shadow-mass constructs he is undefended, unless he gives himself armor or a protective bubble. Even he cannot see through the shadow mass, so at most points his eyes will be extremely vulnerable. His natural human adjustment within the eyes between cones and rods can give him a headache or even lapses in actual ability to see details in the dark, or alternatively sensitivity to bright light. The larger a construct, the larger the blind spot he's created

While in his shadow form he has no projectile abilities, meaning his defaulted approach is to use close-quarters combat. There is no harming him this way unless items of a mystical nature are involved. But, if an item passes through him it may cause huge collateral damage. It is possible that by scattering his atoms widely enough that it may severely impair the speed with which he reforms if he consciously chooses to take a blow by a powerful enough object.

Finally, the ring he wields can be stolen and it would not return to him on its own. In his shadow form it would be useless to the thief for any reason besides preventing him from returning to normal or handicapping his creative abilities. But while in his own flesh, it would completely depower him and empower the thief.

"Listen to me, Bee - It doesn't have to be this way!" I get it - she's mad. She feels alone. I understand, I mean.. we've been through everything together. Losing mom, losing dad, the dog, house, a lot of weight. "Just listen to me - I'm sorry. I swear, I will never leave you alone again!"

"It's too late, Nigel! You ran off and hid from the world and yourself and left me alone - still homeless - while you played 'Superhero'."

"I'm SORRY!" I screamed, feeling my heart thunder with my voice.

"I don't want your sorrow. I want your corpse now!"

So she charged me with a beam of ice. I avoided it carefully, trying to avoid it simply if I could. No powers, no big hero fights, just - "Damn! That was close!" And like that the line was crossed, she would've killed me and impailed me on a frozen kabob, so I diced her chances.

In an instant, every cell in my body traded places with my ring. It's indescribable really. Painless. Then every shot she took phased through me, pissing her off a thousand times more.

Screaming, cursing, punching, thrashing, crying.. She broke down to cry at my feet.

"Damn it, Nigel. I want to go home."

"We will, sis. We will."

NOTES:
Nigel belongs to a Corps of similarily empowered beings wielding identical rings in some ways resembling the GLC. Unlike them, they do not exist to enforce intergalactic law or have territories. The **L***O Corp serves the master for whom they are named and are his soldiers. Thanks to their rings, their master can take over their bodies at any time he chooses.

He has a twin sister named Bianca, who has obtained a talisman granting her chryokinesis, but is in a coma.

Yes, I am consciously avoiding the whole name of their master for now. Feel free to speculate.
Join us Hillan!

Umm, I was going to see about fleshing something dark out as a surprise later on. Vampire is technically not what I was thinking, but avatar of a blood-drinking bat-god is close right? Have to hammered it out perfectly and stuff, but I feel pretty confident about the direction I want to take. I'll discuss my exact thoughts with Wraith as far as plot ideas go, but I've certainly got something up my sleeve. The backstory of his cult involvement doesn't exist in a vacuum, y'know.

I dunno, Sam. Wouldn't want to ruffle her feathers (If he turned into a giant were-cat she'd be in immense pain, and not in a kinky way). The experience may actually kill her (but the mission would be accomplished)... I actually want to use that as a plot point now.
Yep, Sandstorm was put in a coma by a crippling STD obtained during his 'activities' with Simone as a part of her plot against the Teen Titans.

EDIT: Because logic tells me he would be imprisoned, Simone shall now be called 'Jailbait'.
Oh no, it's not about his personality (technically it doesn't involve DC at all). Although there certainly is a pro-human/xenophobic interpretation to be taken from my standpoint. It's the literal meaning of the names Alexander and Luthor. Learned it on Nerdsync I think.
I dunno. I guess I've got an ironic 'soldier of the people' mentality despite finding clingy people annoying and being pretty antisocial in general. I'll take everything I earn, but I also have an instinct to protect my fellow ninety-niners and otherwise disadvanteaged humans. So you can call me Lex Luthor.
Yes, WT. But they are easy villains to pick and write because of their themes.

I have no goals to be rich. As far as I'm concerned, I just want to earn my own living and prove that there is no one who'd work harder to keep everyone I love out of poverty with my own hands. The one percent suck, but they hold power. I don't want power beyond what I can take with my own hands for the most part. I don't want people paying me money I didn't earn and crying blood to waste my resources for show.
For what its worth, the one percent enables my RP addiction
It's all a political smokescreen in front of the financial aspect. #Downwiththepointonepercent #99percent #dontkillmeforsharingmyobservations
The fact is that smoking is great for the tobacco and medical industries. Drinking, supposedly, is most harmful under 21 while smoking f***s everyone up equally.
