Current I'm tempted to say "I've lost better friends than you" to a lote of people lately. I'm not sure what I ever want to say to the better friends that I've lost, though.

Bio

Twelve years ago, I said something on this website that continues to embarrassing me to this day. I was a stupid kid, like most, but I've never quite gotten the taste out of my mouth. Anyone who knew me at the time can tell you about it.

I love this website. I'm pretty sure my phylactery is stored wherever the webserver is and a significant chunk of me will just disappear when it ceases operation. Until then, it comforts me. I should go to the hardware store and paint my bedroom walls with the same soft, brownish grey that the background color has been for the last twelve years. Some of my friends can't wait for the site to go offline but I don't know of any other places that offer the same sense of community.

I'm an omni-gamer. I like board games, tabletop roleplaying games, admire tabletop war games, suck at riddles, and have an absurd library of video games. Survival horror is basically my favorite genre. Otherwise I'm a fan of esoteric, occult bullshit and punk rock. But disco's cool. Disco is what humanity sounds like when it chooses to be happy. Between you and I, I'd like to hope that the days of my life can sparkle like a disco ball, accreting like sparks from a grinder held up against the unwavering dark of deaths own shadow. Burn baby burn.

You and I, we're gonna die. We should be friends first, though. Write some checks we can't cash and make eachother smile. Make believe for a while.

Hello, my peeps. I just mentioned a possible event for the near future in the game to Hillan and am awaiting input. But, in the meantime, I will continue to add onto the existing storyline.

EDIT: It will be ready shortly. Hopefully in time to use it as our 100th post!
I also cast my vote for Mr.Shoe.

Well I said I'd post and I'd very much like but there is...something wrong with our internet. I'm working on it. This post brought to you by the combined efforts of my phone and 3G.

No rush, I can understand the inconvenience of an internet issue.

I finally gave the roster an update and simplified it's appearance to make updates less of a hassle in the future. Speak up if I missed anyone who isn't on there. I do make errors from time to time.
These are not the answers you're looking for.
Foreign Affairs

Is China an economic or military threat to the US?
Ummm... I believe that China is growing into a well-rounded nation, but the structural system established there is no comparison to the diversity and freedom that America already has.

Should there be an independent Palestinian state?
Independence may be what this country was built upon, but no what holds it together. It is only reasonable that independence be exchanged for the embrace of unity.

What is your stance on the War on Terror? Are you in favor of endorsing the Bush Doctrine (pursuing nations that harbor or sponsor terrorism) or are you in favor of a more pragmatic approach to terrorist organizations and the countries in which they operate?
I believe that people have the right to their own culture. They have the right to have their own beliefs. And they have the right to security. But we have the right to safety, and that means we have to be willing to put forth the effort to coax the world into a better time when terrorism isn't an issue.

Are covert drone strikes on terrorist and suspected terrorist locations a policy you would endorse?
Would you endorse listening to your daughter's phone calls. If you found that some boy wanted to remove her flower, wouldn't you try to stop him, even if it meant you had to keep it secret from your daughter. I'm saying that the truth is that America needs to put out the flames people don't realize exist. Would you rather be burned by a fire you didn't see, or saved by a man who's waiting to put it out?

Is the authorized arresting and indefinite detaining of suspected terrorists, including US citizens, without charge good for America?
I'll go back to the fire analogy and let you figure it out. Let's say there are three fires around the city and nine firemen. I'd say the safest solution is to have the firemen waiting when the flames are kindling instead of blazing.

Domestic Affairs

Should nonviolent drug users be jailed?
If we let people get away with breaking one law at a time, what sense does that make? Of course we should protect the laws that keep America in it's right mind.

Should the federal government increase direct financial aid (loans/grants/debt relief) for college students?
America should be supportive of its citizens, but I call this tough love. By limiting the funds that the students take, we can actually teach them responsible money management that betters the future generations of America.

Are more federal regulations on guns and ammunition needed?
What is our national bird? It's an eagle, not a chicken. To raise citizens who can brave the cruelties of life, we can't allow them to solve their problems from afar. The brave citizen uses his fists.

Should gay marriage be legal?
America is a country where we believe men and women were created equal. If one gender starts mating with itself, the equality goes out the window because of a lack of couples that can reproduce.

Should the US Constitution and Bill of Rights be amended or updated in any way?
As much respect as I have for the history of this fine nation, it has to evolve to survive. That means even it's foundation needs to stay current.

Should drilling for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) be allowed?
That is a question for the ANWR.

Are federal health care reform laws good for America?
If it can survive the hell that is legislation, it must be an idea good in all respects.

Economy/Taxes/Entitlement

Is outsourcing jobs to other countries good for America?
It allows for a diversity that enriches the culture of our country as well as supports our allies, humanity.

Should the federal deficit be reduced without raising any taxes?
Helping your government get through hard times isn't a bad thing. If we have to petition for the support of citizens inclined to offer us assistance, we won't deny them their ability to contribute.

Does the US need welfare and food stamp reform or abolishment?
The government exists to maintain a social order. That unfortunately means that not everyone can be rich. But we require that everyone can make it to the next day. Poverty is a force we'll fight as long as we can, but we can't fight a war for everyone.

Are illegal immigrants a net gain to the US economy?
They eat at restaurants and shop at stores that pay tax dollars, so they do support the system that their presence is defying.

Do lower taxes provide incentive for employers to hire more workers?
That wouldn't create more jobs. That only makes the employers wealthier, but rarely to the point that they can support a whole other person.

Should Social Security be privatized?
I like privacy. Maybe Social Security doesn't need the US to survive, but it can help the nation from its own place.
As is mine, Mr.Shoe. Bring it on.
Alright, alright. If you need a president, look no further than here at the teenage nerd dwelling amongst you.

Kyle Rayner; The Teen Lantern

"Let those who worship Evil's Might, Beware my Power."

_____Name:
Kyle Rayner

_____Alias:
The Teen Lantern
The Torchbearer

_____Role:
Titan

_____Brief Bio:
Born in Earth's year 2000, Kyle Rayner was raised by a single mother because his father had disappeared mere weeks before his birth. For the first twelve or so years of his life, Kyle had shown signs of a gifted intelligence that was largely manifested through his creative abilities and reflected through his grades and regularly received awards.

In his early teenage years, he grew fond of and obsessed over the superheroes that were coming to the forefront of the world's news. While America struggled to legalize Marijuana, he worried about a civil war that could break out in Atlantis or an Apokolyptan invasion. While he was still quite intelligent, he socially receded to the point where he was a social outcast by choice. He didn't follow trends or even try to fit in, but he could be quite charming when he wanted to be.

When he turned fifteen, he began fighting crime in New York as best he could using a homemade costume and improvised weaponry and tools. He used the alias 'The Torchbearer' because he thought it sounded cool. The Torchbearer was never particularly notable as far as notoriety in the NYC's large community of superheroes.

But one day, when he was in a fight with a mugger and losing, he was scared to death, but he grit his teeth and kept fighting to protect the man being robbed simply because it was the right thing to do. He had several bruised ribs and a collection of injuries. Then he saw the light.

A Green Lantern ring came from the sky, choosing him to wear it, capturing his assailant, and shipping him off to the planet Oa. It was there that he was trained by the lantern Kilowogg and various other instructors. Then, a while later, he returned home to planet Earth, not quite covert enough to escape the notice of SHIELD, however. He was then taken in for questioning and basically forced him to act on their behalf while he was on Earth, making him a member of the Young Avengers.

Despite strongly disliking the degree of security and lack of privacy due to his life with SHIELD, he's grown as a hero and has taken to using the ring as best he knows how, only occasionally abusing it's power for his own benefit.

_____Abilities:
Communication: The ring translates almost all modern languages in the universe and can interpret the majority of outdated ones in a way that allows the user a great variety of alternatives to speaking his own language. Also, like a cell phone, the ring is a part of a network that extends through the cosmos, keeping him in contact with his fellow Lanterns and other beings equipped with the proper equipment.

Constructs: Channeling his willpower and creativity, the ring creates nearly any physical manifestation that he wants for it to. Though the majority of users lack the ability to use it to cure an illness or permanently alter a structure. He is always aware of the location of his constructs, even if he isn't necessarily the one moving them. It creates within him a sensitivity to distinct shades of green and he can alter the tones of his constructs, even dimming them to near ebony.

Flight: Through a protective aura generated by the ring, he can propel himself in any direction at great speed through his own willpower.

Utility Belt: It includes actual utilities such as money, a cell phone, tape, fishing line, a flashlight, laser pointer, Sonic Grenade (Think Geek), and various medicines amongst other things in case his ring should ever die mid-mission.

_____Personality:
Kyle is genuinely a lighthearted individual. He enjoys frequent joking and tries his best to keep things going well. But he is not without flaws. He, while never consciously giving in to peer pressure, occasionally partakes in drinking because minors are specifically not allowed to do so. He hates the notion of his freedom being limited by anyone for any purpose. Because of this, he has an attraction to thoughtful and analytical people, privacy, superheroes, punk rock, and alternative music. He has something of a gift for self-expression, most strongly observable in his artistry. Despite his intentional rebellion, he enjoys making scenes, causing a ruckus, and is susceptible to the pressures of youth.

_____Appearance:

_____Affliation:
The Green Lantern Corps:
•Hal Jordan: Though many people call him the greatest Green Lantern, Kyle doesn't really like Hal at all. Though, Hal has acted as something of a mentor to Kyle because, unlike most GLs, he and Kyle are extra-dramatic as superheroes.
•Kilowogg: The drill sergeant who trained Kyle. At this point, Kyle sees him as a controll freak.

Young Avengers:
•Ben 10: Kyle considers Ben to be one of his best friends and recognizes him as the team's other playful powerhouse.
•Bucky: Mostly because of his authoritative nature, Kyle dislikes the Captain America stand-in.
•Ghost Rider: She's hot. For Kyle, that's as complicated as it gets. He doesn't really have a crush on her, but he is not above hitting on a flaming skeleton girl.
•Hulkling
•Scott Pilgrim: Kyle also gets along well with Scott.
•Wiccan

_____Other:
This version of Kyle was inspired by a throwaway line in Young Justice about a year ago. When the Justice League was coming down on the Team, John Stewart said something like "This is why there isn't a Teen Lantern." I paused, googled it, and found out that he was kinda right, but there was a great story in there somewhere. Since then I've been dedicated to finding it.

I'm just waiting for a time skip for Rose, and I still don't really see an opportunity to bring Cassie in quite yet so...yeah waiting on a time skip all around lol

Time skip, eh? I'll talk to Hillan later about that.

I never tried making a female character. I may have to do that some time.
