She catches the kick on her arm and slides back, bringing her hand to the ground. She growls and bramble vines shoot out of the ground at Jacob’s feet, tripping him.
Leila smiles as she steps towards the ring. She shrugs off her cloak and bag and pulls a ring off her first finger. She balls it in her fist and a staff shoots out of her grip. The top of the staff has rings of wickedly barbed spikes and the bottom of the staff has a hook. “Alright, magic boy. Let’s dance.” She rushes him in hopes of surprising him, swinging her club in a low arc.
Leila looks stunned as Jacob retrieves his khopesh and wand from seemingly mid-air. “Is that a . . . possession thingy? Or is that just your own neat little trick?”
Leila follows Charlie and Jacob and looks rather alarmed at Charlie’s proclamation “Whoa whoa whoa, little man. Who said anything about mortal combat? Personally, I’d like to keep limbs and souls intact.”
“I’m not quite sure. I’ve never seen him do so, but it’s a definite possibility. I know that he can summon hurricanes, breathe underwater, and even walk on water.” She shrugs at Charlie and turns to Jacob with a grin. “I’m not sure who Sobek is, but I’m always up for a challenge.”
