Fantasy Kingdom Roleplay

Hello everyone,

It has been awhile since I've actually posted ideas, I don't usually like to run an rp, I much prefer to join and just write, but I am in a particular mood here lately, the idea of a Fantasy Kingdom has me excited and all full of adventure and story telling! I'm hoping I can find a few who are just as interested. We don't need a whole lot for it to work, but of course I'm all for as many as we can get as well!

Pitch:

The world is unlike that we know, with magic, mystical beings and creatures all a wonder, but not so unusual here. The lands are spread far and wide, ranging from great valleys, to dense magical forests, to the most desolate dry rocky tundras. Much of the land is wild and over grown, and remains unexplored by all but it's natural inhabitants. There are still creatures in this world that others have never witnessed themselves, but have only heard about in stories. All that seems make believe and fairy tales in this world, are true, and some quite dangerous, while others, simply breath taking.

Throughout the world, inhabitants have taken spreads of land and claimed it as their own, Kingdoms reigning large areas and people, while neighboring Kingdoms keep their borders protected from invaders and the unknown. The Kingdom of Avalon is the greatest known to living kind, it's mass spreads for miles and miles, covering forests, and valleys, stopping just shy of the great mountains. The castle itself is massive, but houses several families of it's own, including those of royal heritage. The rulers of this particular Kingdom are known for their kindness and generous nature, they care for their lands and the people within, welcoming strangers with open arms, while also protecting all from any dangers that may attempt their way of life. The castle is also home to the workers of the royal families, from castle guards to council of court. The council of court are a group of highly useful beings who gather to deliberate on important matters, in the end, it is the King's say, but his council has been a good source of power from the beginning.

Of course, not everything is perfection within the Kingdom of Avalon, with a population as large as this one, problems are going to occur. Not every being is kind and good hearted, and more than a few would love to have their chance to over throw the most powerful Kingdom. War is a constant possibility and the Kingdom must do it's best to remain vigilant for any threat.

The idea is a pretty open based world where you can play just about any type of creature you want, you can have magic, or be completely normal, it is entirely up to you. I would like to focus a little more on those living in the castle for roleplay sake, it makes things a little more simple. I will have a few rules on how powerful your character can be, I really don't want to wind up with a bunch of God like characters.

So what do you think? Any ideas of your own? Any improvements? I'm completely open to other ideas and tweaks on the concept and ideas for character creation.

Well, I guess a good place to start is why all of the individual groupings of animals wind up needing to work together, does something catastrophic happen? Or is it all just WIP?

Survival: A Zombie Apocalypse RP

Lee mumbled a little in her sleep as she rolled over in the giant wad of old blankets she had managed to find, piling them together to make a little makeshift bed. The girl hadn't slept in a few days, so this was over due, of course, sleeping out in the open wasn't the greatest idea. She'd been on the run for weeks, narrowly avoiding the monsters that roamed the streets now. She had no military training and her background was nothing more than a high school student ready to head off to college... She admitted to herself that the only reason that she was alive today was her super vigilance and her ability to get herself out of sticky messes, well, most of them, anyway, enough that she had managed to survive on her own so far.

She stirred again, things were quiet, but something shifted, in an instant she was up, wrapping her raven black hair in an elastic she kept around her wrist. Systematically tucking the shorter bang pieces that hung in her face behind her ear. She'd be glad when they were long enough to pull back as well, they served no useful purpose now, other than getting in her way. In an instant, Lee was moving, taking a quick second to re familiarize with her setting. She had done so the night before when she had chosen this spot for her rest, but sleep had muddled her brain just a bit and it took a moment for the memories from the night before to come back. She remembered there being a small window along the backside of this building, and headed towards it. She was careful where she stepped, avoiding any loud noises that might alert anyone or anything to her presence. She knew that this location had been riddled with those monsters only a few days earlier, she had been casing this location from a higher location for a week and a half, she had moved the second she had the chance.

Lee could see the window, she was almost there, watching as a tiny ray of light came shining through, illuminating the dirty floor. She fled, covering the distance easily and throwing herself up onto a pile of boxes. She was small enough that almost anything could handle her weight... but these boxes were flimsy and already falling apart, it didn't take much before they practically disintegrated beneath her feet. She let out a gasp and a small shriek as she fell, throwing her hand out to the window to try and catch it before she hit the ground. It missed as she went toppling backwards, throwing her other hand out instinctively to catch herself between the floor and her the rest of her body. Her hand skidding across the rough concrete ground and she winced as she felt it scrape away her skin, her knee followed. Sucking air through her teeth from the pain she pulled herself standing as quickly as he could, she moved towards the window, limping on the knee that had just struck the ground.

A loud 'boom' announced the others in the building as the door to the back of the gas station she had been hiding in was kicked open. She had weapons, but they were really more for show, she didn't really have any idea how to use them. She had no desire of getting shot herself, so she threw up her hands in surrender and in an effort to show that she was no current threat. Of course, her stomach churned at the thought of being captured by either faction, she preferred to roam on her own, it seemed safest.

Skills: Lee is particularly good at keeping herself out of trouble, in that she is particularly talented at running... Though she does keep several weapons on her body, it's unclear if she actually knows how to use them. She is particularly talented in most kinds of artistic expression, and has shown promise in chemistry.

Loyalty: It stands somewhere between wavering and not... she likes to think that she can be loyal, but she needs a reason for the loyalty. That being said, she does have a certain amount of morality that keeps her from intentionally putting other people into harms way. She's a bit of a nomad, not alleging to either side, but if she was forced to choose, she would lean towards The Faction.

Bio Before the Outbreak: Lee was certainly far from the most popular girl in her school, but she was extremely intelligent and was prepared to find her true passion in college. She loved to paint, draw, and demonstrate just about any other art medium that she could get her hands on. Still, her parents insisted that it was a waste of time to pursue any kind of art, and pushed her to attend for academics instead. She wasn't completely against this idea, with a slight interest in science and chemistry. She had only just graduated from high school when the outbreak began.

Bio After the Outbreak: The outbreak wasn't something that anyone expected would actually affect them, she recalled hearing bits and pieces about the problems in Africa on the news and other media outlets, but it wasn't something that an eighteen year old really spent her time thinking about. Her parents died early, leaving her to figure things out on her own. Being young, and quite over whelmed, she did the only thing she knew how to do; run. She ran, having no idea where to go or what she could possibly do. She had little interest in joining either group, but discovered that being with them at least meant a small amount of security... Though she wouldn't be against running if she absolutely needed to.

(Sorry if there are any inconsistencies, I initially started creating a character that was highly athletic and a bit of a coward, but then I kind of liked the idea of the possibility of her becoming a chemist... so I kind of wound up with a mash up of both xD)
