The year is 2022, November Sixth to be exact. The most anticipated game in a long while has finally launched and everyone who could get there hands on a copy rushed home and quickly plugged in. What greeted them was a wonderful new world. The world of Sword Art Online. It was, for most, their first taste of the virtual world. And this world is where you find yourself. Grassy plains, rivers whole villages! Everything is perfect until the Game Master calls everyone to the Town of Beginnings. The GM, Kayaba Akahiko, informs the 10,000 players that they are now trapped inside of this game. The log out feature has been removed. Your avatar updates, you no longer hide behind your virtual mask. You're trapped inside of this virtual world, and now it's more than a game now, when you die here, you die for real. The wonderful world of sword art online is has gone from a dream come true to a living nightmare. How will you survive?

Welcome to this wonderful Sword Art Online RP. We're going to be playing as a group of players, in a guild of course, trying to beat the game, hanging out and (hopefully) not dying. We will be in a guild known as Neon Colossus, and we'll be one of the guilds on the strike team as well, but there will be some down time as well. We'll have fight scenes and chill scenes as well as some basic questing to do. I hope you'll have fun!

This happens in the Canon universe. So Kirito and the other major characters all exist, we just won't be hanging out or interacting with them too much, but there are a lot of time gass in the show so maybe they'll show up at some point.

To make things hopefully more fun, ,we're allowing everyone to have their own unique skill, like Kirito's dual wielding ability. Don't make it too OP like "Can insta kill anything 1/2 of the time" and make sure nobody already took it. 

We're only looking for a few more, maybe 5 players to make up our small group.

Brief history: Born into a semi-abusive family, Guy's upbringing wasn't all sunshine and rainbows. He wasn't beat by his parents, no, they were big on the non-physical kind of abuse. He was never good enough for them no matter how well he did. They'd hound him about how his grades were too low, or how he hadn't had a girlfriend, and when he had high grades and a girlfriend he spent too much time with her or studying and needed to help around the house more. Because of this he got out as soon as he could. He didn't run away but he definitely took to escaping in any way he could. 
The nervegear was a dream come true for him, a way to live in a reality unlike the bleak one he came from. He couldn't buy one at launch but managed to save up enough after moving out jsut a few days before the release of SAO, for which he was third in line to buy. He plugged in on that fateful day and found himself now trapped in his supposed dreamland along with 9,999 others. He decided to band together with some strangers and created the guild Neon Colossus, of which he is leader. He led them from the bottom all the way up to the strike team.

Brief Personality: More often than not, Guy is off doing his own thing in a fairly non serious matter. The whole situation of being trapped in the videogame he found himself in was, to him at least, a blessing and not a curse. He's gone from a pessimist in reality to a full blown optimist in Aincrad. He took to his role as guild leader proudly, though he knows that he is not the most qualified. He stays in the position purely because he is the least likely to quit or give up because of something bad happening. He's the heart of the group, not the sword.

Personality: 
Mez is a staunch leader and devoted warrior. He fights for every good cause but holds no time for trivial matters. Although he may come across to others as extremely serious, he does have a softer side. Sharing a joke within a group or attempting to console close friends is generally proof of this. He is extremely courageous but doesn't allow his pride to get in the way when it comes to fighting. He knows when to retreat and when to press the attack. When it is time to rally together, Mez's voice can usually be heard above most of the others, leading a charge towards his enemies.
 
Brief Real Life Background: 
In the real world, Rin is a hardcore gamer. His brother, Reivard, is one of the top MMO players in Japan and his parents own a successful Computer Electronics company; NTTF Gaming, that sells high-end computer peripherals and software. They also sponsor a number of eSport tournaments across the globe and were one of the top 5 distributors of the Nerve-Gear Headsets. Rin has never wanted for any game in his life, his whole school life was dedicated to business management and gaming, so that he may eventually take over the family business. In the meantime, however, Rin dedicated himself to surpassing his brother, who had already carved his career in the gaming industry and had outgrown the need to take on the company.

With the advent of virtual technology, Rin was determined to outshine his older sibling and prove to his parents that, for once, he was the better gamer. But alas, Reivard never joined SAO. His career had taken an unexpected turn towards Hollywood, where he would star in an upcoming movie remake of the successful 1995 film, Hackers. Rin didn't yet know any of this news about his brother and dived into SAO with eagerness, ready to prove he was the best.

Unique Skill 
Ghoul's Grin: This Unique Skill affects all weapons held by Mez. This skill allows him to instantly equip any weapon within his inventory immediately during battle, even mid-swing. He uses this predominantly in conjunction with his Greatsword; Judgement and his Shortsword; Retribution. Switching between these two weapons grants him a temporary boost for a maximum of 15 seconds during battle. (1 post)

Brief history: Mika grew up on a farm in southern Russia before leaving home at 15 to go to a boarding school in eastern Germany, his parents believing he’d have a better opportunity to make something of his life there. He’s a complete loner, having not been around people very often while growing up and finds it hard to communicate with others due to the language barrier. It's due to his lack of interaction with other people growing up that he is relatively nervous when first encountering others.

Brief Personality: Mika is shy, more on the private side mostly because he's afraid of what others might think of him. Generally, he's quite anxious around people he's never met before and worries that he'll drive them away before he gets a chance to show him his real self. But when he’s gotten to know someone he can be loud, obnoxious, and overall a hell of a lot of fun.  His hobbies include reading and trolling people on the internet.

Skill set: He excels in ranged attacks, giving him an edge on most of the normal sword users. He’s very fast, and can easily steal things from an unsuspecting user.
