Ya, Gentsai and his group convinced a few people from Edolas to join them on their departure. If you want a picture on how the titan (golem) looks like, here, it's about 800 meters tall. And your assumption is probably right.

I started watching the Funimation English dub first. When I got to the oracion seis arc, they didn't have it dubbed yet. So I tried watching the animax English dub, I tried watching a few episodes of it, but I couldn't with their voices. Their voices in that were just felt so weird compared to Funimation. Then I tried just the sub, but I decided to just wait.

Waited long enough to continue watching in Funimation English dub, until they did the 7 years time skip. At that point I started watching the sub because I really wanted to see what happens later in the series and I got use to sub. But it's kind of strange now because when ever I try watching the dub again, it feels weird, probably because I just watched with sub for too long lol.

I see Gentsai is either ignoring the fact Mayt was threatening every person on the Titan/Golem's life, doesn't care, or doesn't believe he can do what he's sorta-claiming he can.

I would say that it's more of the doesn't believe he can do what he's sorta-claiming he can. Like why stop something when it's trying to do something that doesn't require violence?

Gentsai placed his communication back in a pocket as he looked at Mayt, knowing what might come next from Mayt’s slight movements. "I know you tried talking, or demanding from what it sounded like. But it makes no difference if we go or just you go to Earth Land. That is why I ordered Taris to start the anima once it's done charging, so we all can go. But I don’t want any conflict when we simply wish to travel in peace. Peace that can be settled easily with no violence. Join us or not, I hope you can find it in yourself to prevent a battle. Now, I’ll go see how the people are doing and inform them of our departure.” Turning around and walking away from the two wizards as he walked up the slow ascent of the titan’s left interior leg.

There was that one soldier that Mayt burned. Sure he fired arrows, but burning the guy seem a bit too much. Yet, Gentsai isn't firing any arrows at them. He's just trying to go to Earth Land. It's like stopping a guy from crossing the road when there's no car in sight.
