This morning when Caeda woke up, she decided to try relaxing and think back about the past months before and while she board The Sea Wolf. Before leaving her home city of Bayrest, she tried to follow this direction that her gauntlet pulled her towards, only to find the end of the city and the same pull still being present. Once she departed from her estate, she could feel a surge of optimism with each step as she followed the direction that father's gauntlet was pulling her towards. Never has she ventured this far from Bayrest and started to feel nervous as she felt stagnant with path being outside the city. But she would quickly shake off this feeling as she tried to focus. Deciding to view a map to get an idea of where the gauntlet may be pulling her, she would notice the first obstacle being the seas, and then after that being the Majadan Empire, which she was not familiar about.

Now feeling ready to leave with this knowledge, she prepared herself for the travel. She informed the captain of the guards of her travel and hopes to find any clue of her father's disappearance. After the captain gave their permission, Caeda prepared her things, informed her servants of her travel, and politely order them to maintain the Bryberos's estate house until she returned. She would then find a ship that she could board, this eventually being The Sea Wolf.

The beginning weeks on board, she would have her usual routinely training, one on the morning and another in the evening. Mainly using her main hand, being right, for her rapier, still not feeling comfortable enough to use her left which possessed the gauntlet. Most of the rime she would keep to herself, but would some time ask a crew member to volunteer to join her in a sparing match, thing being something she greatly appreciated having as these made training more interesting than swiping the air. She would find some fun educating these few of her fighting style and commenting on her a crew member's skill with a blade. But as training went by, she felt her swings were different and odd than the standard she was used to, but for the better, this was something that she especially noticed when sparing. One of these oddity became very noticeable during a sparing match when the gauntlet fired a blast of dark colored energy with ripples of white light fading in and out of it, this just narrowly hitting her sparing partner. Caeda profusely apologized for the unexpected attack and the following days found herself able to shoot this blast and decided to train herself controlling this blast by shooting into the sea and open sky.

Outside her personal hardship, there were times that crew members found themselves getting sick and she would quarantine herself in her cabin to avoid such illness until she heard that those crew members were better. It was during these moments that she would try talking to those who passed her room and would eventually her the story of The Green Tide and the ship current course to the Majadan Empire.

Then recently during one of her training in the evening when it was getting dark, she would felt the magic of the gauntlet resonate its strange energy. As she reached a free hand to feel it, shadowy blade would emerge and startled her as she thought her eldritch blast was going to exploded her had.

After thinking her time on The Sea Wolf and how her father's gauntlet has been behaving since then she decided to leave her cabin to find the captain to ask how much longer their journey on the seas will be? She was enjoying this travel on the sea as it provided her time to train, understand the gauntlet, and still move eastward at the same time. Knowing that such training won't happen once she reached land and she wanted to ask the captain how much time they had until they reached the Majadan Empire.
@Lucius Cypher
Oops, sorry about this, you should be able to see it now.

Are there be anything else that I should be aware about? Also since this is a world that you created, is there a city as mentioned in Caeda's backstory that could probably fit that description? I tried leaving it general enough to probably fit it somewhere if you had a place.
Here is Caeda Bryberos's character sheet.

One small thing that I changed for starting equipment that I wanted to ask. Instead of taking anything from the first bullet and no simple weapon form the 4th bullet, would it be okay exchange those with a rapier since as a hexblade warlock? I wanted to take that opportunity to have a martial weapon since martial weapons become my proficiency.
I rolled for her stats, with the lowest number dropped, came out as 9, 17, 15, 12, 14, and 11. Together totaling to 78.

Do you have any preferences for where to make her character sheet?
I would prefer playing with D&D 5e since I've been mostly playing it in the past 2 years as a player and DM.

For a brief character idea that I currently have in mind,
Caeda Bryberos, a adamant and headstrong female half-elf who is an only child in the noble family of Bryberos. Spent most of her life in a city mainly of elves, half elves, and minority being humans. Her human mother Eleanor was said to have passed away from a severe sickness when she was about 3 years old, to this current day, she refuses to believe her death or visit her grave as it eventually leads her to think of her own mortality not being good enough as simply being a half elf and not being a pure elf than the elves whose life and culture she idealizes since youth. This is seen most with her elven father, the Baron Erlan Bryberos, she idealizes him the most from his many stories of grand adventures. It was from these stories that she decided to become part of the city guard as a way to train and prepare to join her father. She does not have any specific hate on her mother as she has been told of her being very caring when Caeda was young, but when she often compares herself to her father, Caeda wishes to follow in her father's path, but feels she would be unable to meet such expectations, especially with the centuries of experience her father has gained.

But the day eventually arrived when two soldiers knocked at Bryberos estate home to inform her of her father's death during a battle and could only give her father remaining equipment as the body could not be recovered. Just like her mother, Caeda was in denial of her father's death, she didn't attend attend her father's funeral and would end or leave conversations that were to bring him up. The most she would endure would be accepting the baroness title as the heir to the Bryberos family and land which it holds. One day, she decided to at least move and organize her father's equipment herslef from his hall of trophies to his room. It was then that when she went to grasped her father's prized adamantium gauntlet, that she felt this strange sense to wear it. This was a magical item that Erlan found during the beginnings of his adventure and said to have almost always wear it. Once it was don, she could feel its magic and grabbed the nearest weapon to do a few practice swings to feel it, only to feel the blade to suddenly become enchanted by gauntlet. After having that bit of fun, she was reminded more about her father and tried to remove the gauntlet, only to feel her being being pulled as well. A faint sense then told her of a vague direction to travel, she was not compelled to go there, but it was a lingering sensation that would remain even after another forced removal of the gauntlet. She gave this feeling a few days to pass over until she eventually decided to investigate what ever this direction may lead her towards.

So what do you think? Mechanically I'm planning for a lv 1 half elf hexblade warlock with the gauntlet powering the blades that she comes in contact with. I also chose the city watch background as that felt the closet to a guard in a city. Also how would you like us to decide ability scores?
Hi Lucius,

I've been a bit curious of a solo player adventure, especially on these RP forum to see how it would perform. Hopefully work on my end should not be as busy as it has been in the past months. But if I do become too busy, at least it won't hinder or disturb the flow in the story since you could probably post another interest if you want to restart the story.

I suppose the only question I have is what would be expected in this one shot and how one would prepare for it?
I've been curious about Pathfinder as the last time I played it was in 2014, had only two sessions, and I was completely new to the ttrpg. Now I've been playing D&D 5e for almost 2 years. Although Pathfinder have different rules and is more similar to D&D 3.5 than 5, I've been interested to give it a try. Would appreciate some links that could help with understanding the character creation process as I tried doing it myself just to get a better understand of the character sheet. But if there are still offering tickets for people who are relatively new to Pathfinder, I'll be interested to try.
I feel most portions of the game that have maps, I could still detail them enough in a post to convey the area. But I feel it taking place in such a large city and things to do in there, I think it helps to make a play by post RP easier. It is when combat occurs and depending on how many people are involved, I may need to create a map here to easily show where everyone is.

When a combat starts, I'll roll everyone's initiative, then I will group the average of the player party and enemy party to help decide the turn order. That way with the players can act as a group than in a queue. That and you players can post when you can than waiting for someone to post and move the turn. I would wait at least a week for player to post what they did on their turn before doing the enemies turn, but if everyone does it before the week ends, then I may post early.

Also I am not an encyclopedia with forgotten realms. The most I know are from a few Drizzt novels, a few modules and live streams that take place in the setting. But the Waterdeep module does have about a 25 page details the city and more pages outside of that still lend some extra information if needed.

If we decide to do this, I would start everyone at level 2 than 1 for reason mentioned in my previous post. This module has leveling based on the progression of the chapters. For this campaign, I would prefer if people created characters based on official or UA materials released from Wizard of the Coasts. But I am open to other ideas, but let me know first and I'll decide if I would allow it. I have been using this site for creating characters if anyone needs help searching for a collection of character creation stuff.

Another question I have is how should we handle our character sheet? I've seen some people use some online resources, but I haven't used them before and thus not familiar enough with them. Or are we just going to create a template here on the site for players to use and update?

But as @Chiro mentioned, there are a few of us have with some experience of DMing. I just feel like sharing my knowledge and ideas when DMing. But it feels like we should come to some decision of the setting and who will DM. After that we should probably move this to a new thread with these decisions made.

Since some of us are new, it would probably be best if we start at a low level. Preferably I like starting as low as 2 or 3. Level 2 is because it gives player a bit more options to do, get a sense of the class before some classes choose their sub class, and level 1 I feel player characters could easily die if not handled well. Level 3 is when all classes have access to choose their sub classes.

A module for a lv 1-5 campaign that I'm the most familiar is Waterdeep Dragon Heist. Takes place in the city of Waterdeep in the Forgotten Realm setting. Has many factions and characters that players could try interacting with. And generally feel it has a good introduction to D&D. I would like to say that I could try running it, but I am busy with irl work, although for a post by play, it could give players enough time to post before I continue the game. But still, felt like stating that now.

Between Tyranny of Dragons and Elemental Evil, I would like to try Elemental Evil as I have heard Tyranny of Dragons can be quite unbalance as 5e was recent when it came out.
I am actually interested in the Ghosts of Saltmarsh module. I read a bit of D&D UA about sailing and sea, which really got me excited to hear that they would actually make a module. Not sure if they would put the UA info into this module.

Nonetheless, I'm interested with the module. But I thought it hasn't released yet?
