Current I always wonder why birds stay in the same place when they can fly anywhere on the earth. Then I ask myself the same question. - Harun Yahya

Bio

Hello everyone!

I love roleplaying. That is why I am here. And you are too I suppose! So we already have that much in common! Sweet!

I will play anything with a thick enough plot. My favorites include fantasy and magic themes.

I'm not sure what else to say here.

See you in game!

Sorry if my posts are kind of boring! Haven is in service mode @.@; I'm trying to think of something more clever but the inspiration well is dry at the moment. :O
She turned her head at the word 'mute', but to her surprise the bard was speaking to someone else. She looked away, least anyone notice her response, and cleaned an empty table that was splattered with a red sauce.

As she passed by the group of men, she eavesdropped on their conversation with the bard. She smiled inwardly as jabs and jests were exchanged between them. She went to the kitchen to rid herself of the dirty-red-cloth she had used to clean the table.

When she returned the bard was singing of The Beast. His voice was lovely, but had a haunting quality that seemed to crawl down her spine.

She tried to imagine The Beast. What did he look like up close? Could he talk? What if he wasn't as scary as the stories made him out to be, perhaps he was cute.

She set down a few pints in front of the men, and scuttled off before they took further notice of her. The young one was particularly was lost in his cups, but that didn't discourage the men from ordering another full round.

She turned to the bard as he finished his song, her eyes wide with curiosity. She wanted to hear more about the beast. She clapped her hands, encouraging him to continue his song. Then darted off into the kitchen. After a few moments she would emerge, and bring the woman-who-was-looking-for-the-red-haired-man her food.
Name: Phelix Farrow PhD

Age: 60

Year: Teacher, Professor of Astronomy/Astrology, and Muggle Studies.

Gender: Male

House: Hufflepuff (Perhaps head of the house? This will give him a reason to be more involved in the students who are not in his classes.)

Magical Heritage: Pure Blood

Appearance:

Backstory/Personality:

Phelix was born to a wealthy pure blooded family. They had high expectations for their eldest son... Who seems to have obtained all the recessive genes. Phelix was always small, a bit clumsy, and a bit... squibbish! He had three younger brothers who were all handsome and magically talented. Their parents quickly focused their attention on the other children.

Despite all his obvious shortcomings, Phelix was highly intelligent, a fact he caught onto quite quickly. He outwit his parents on a regular basis. They were simple to understand, their goals and motives plain: They all wanted to be pretty, and pure blooded, and powerful, and respected. Phelix knew from a young age that he would never obtain any of these things, so he found that if he gave his family what they wanted he could find other rewards for himself.

Things changed when he left his home for Hogwarts. Instead of Slytherine that blasted hat placed him in Hufflepuff! Away from his family and friends, their influence mattered less and less... and Phelix found himself despite himself.

He dropped out of Hogwarts halfway through his OWLs, a decision that was a result of accumulating stress, poor grades (he really was terrible at magic, the ONLY thing he was any good at was Astronomy and Divination), and dissatisfaction with his family and the role they expected him to take. He applied to a muggle university, exchanged all his money for muggle currency, and left the wizard world for the muggle one. He hoped that he could find a place where no one would judge him by his blood or his ability to use magic. (His family of course disowned him)

He excelled, and eared his PhD In Astronomy, and was a respected member of the scientific community for many many years.

He kept on dabbling in Astronomy quietly. None of his companions ever took Astrology seriously, but sometimes at parties after a few drinks he would ask others for their 'sign' and everyone had much fun as Phelix would guess and predict things about strangers he might never know! After the party if anyone asked he would say 'I don't know, I was drunk, lucky guess!'

Things went pretty well, until one year his grant money was denied and his telescope project was unfunded and he was forced to abandon it. Phelix was discouraged... but he had something else in the back of his mind, something quite different.

He imagined that one could gain a deeper understanding of Wizards Astrology with the muggles perspective of Astronomy, and perhaps vice-versa. He worked on a paper in his spare time on the matter, which turned into a book. A book which he could NEVER publish through muggle means or for a muggle audience. So, he did what he thought he would never do, and returned to the Wizards.

He was laughed out of the office of every Wizard publishing house, journal, and newspaper in England. Except the Quibbler. He started an Astrology column under an alias 'just for fun', but kept it up for twenty years. In the muggle world he found new jobs and prospects that went rather well, but always had time to publish his Quibbler Column. His column was actually very good!

When Hogwarts needed emergency coverage for their Divination and Astronomy class, someone from the Quibbler passed on his real name and information to the headmaster. He was invited for an interview. Then he was made to re-take his OWLS and 'test through' his final years as a courtesy, and was hired first as an adjunct professor, then given full time a few years later.

That was 10 years ago. Phelix has made a happy home at Hogwarts. He often ventures into the muggle world, and is notorious for bringing back tons of the latest muggle gadgets and media for all to enjoy.

Wand: He does not use it much, but has a wand of Fir, core of bear tooth.

Personal items and pets: Telescope, smart phone, i-pod, i-pad, x-box... etc.

Special Gifts and Abilities: Highly educated, PhD, talents in Divination.
Speaking of teachers... can I apply as an OC teacher?
I would like to reserve a spot! Thanks :)
Name: Fatima Dewolfe

Gender: Female

Age: 36

Appearance:

Fatima is a lovely Half-Indian woman with long dark hair and deep black eyes. She is very careful about her appearance, always looking clean and fresh, dressed in simple but tasteful attire, and keeps her nails clean with regular manicures. She walks with the grace and poise of a dancer, her physique is thin and healthy. She is very health conscious, eating very healthy and working-out every day. She follows various beauty regimes to keep her skin clear, mud masks, cleanses, and creams, while wearing little makeup. This gives her a fresh, young, but modest style.

She dresses comfortable but stylishly, getting all of her clothing from catalogues like Title Nine, Patagonia, and Cabelas. Tunic length shirts, loose thin sweaters, practical comfortable shoes and boots, simple but quality jewelry. To her it is the small touches that make a big difference in the overall look.

Relation to Christopher Lovelle: Fatima is the daughter of Christopher Lovelle's Sister.

Occupation: Chiropractor.

Immediate family members:

Her husband: Aristotel DeWolf
Her father: Aadi Chopra - Indian immigrant, is a software engineer, retired.
Her Mother: Adrianna Lovelle-Chopra, also a software engineer, retired.

Personality: Fatima is a quiet intelligent woman, introverted and discerning. Energetic and active. She is always zipping around doing something. Errands, favors, cooking, cleaning, organizing, and her phone is constantly buzzing with calls and texts from clients, to-do-list-reminders, calender-events, and such. She doesn't like being still, but her holistic work has taught her it's importance, so she is the type of person to schedule her relaxing time.

Biography: Fatima grew up in the big city. Her parents managed to get her into various private and magnet schools, scraping together funds and applying for various scholarships. Luckily she was smart and talented, and took a liking to dance. She got into Julliard on a scholarship for their dance program. Unfortunately, she endured a serious injury while dancing her sophomore year. She was told by her doctors to take a break from dancing, that break drew itself out as Fatima became discouraged and depressed. She stopped dancing entirely, and moved home to an attic 'apparent' above her parents house. Eventually they made her seek therapy and was she was prescribed anti-depressants.

One day a friend dragged her into a yoga-class, then another, then another. By the filth class she was hooked. It was a practice that forgave her injury without question, and helped bring her mental calm. She continued to pursue the practice, and other 'alternative' medicines and exorcizes. Eventually she went back to school to finish her bachelors at NYU, then completed a program and became a licensed Chiropractor. She treats all types of patients and injuries, but mostly markets herself to actors, dancers and other performers.

She is currently in fantastic mental and physical health and is off all of her previous medications.

She met her current husband in her office. He was a chiropractic client, and eventually persuaded her to go on a date... They married three years after that, and have just celebrated their 2 year anniversary.
This *is* the most hostile ooc environment I've ever experienced. I suppose it was silly to think that the interest-check issues would stop once the game got started.

My suggestion to the GM is something I had to do in an rp once I encountered a similar issue; ban fellow players from critiquing one another, it can get personal real quick, I had to ban it outright in one game, and I've made it a rule in my games ever after. Someone was allowed to PM me with concerns but not post in the ooc anything like that.

This is just not fun. So, I will be leaving as well. Good luck in all your future endeavors.
:O I HOPE YOUR WRIST HEALS WELL AND FAST!
Looking for a wife you say? I might want to try that out, I want to play the game but have not had a solid character idea yet. :O
So many interesting guests, the Faintly Hallows will be nice and busy!
