The world had fallen into darkness. It happened without anyone noticing, the rise of organized criminal elements in the shadows, Team Rocket, led by renowned Gym Leader Giovanni, stealing Pokemon and establishing their control of the underworld. By the time the world realized the danger, it was too late. They struck with a fury, without mercy, overthrowing the regional governments, eliminating all who were a threat to their plans. And by the end of the week, Kanto belonged to Team Rocket.

Things had only gone downhill from there, a reign of terror stretching across the land as they got revenge on all who had wronged him, 'redistributed' the wealth in their favor, took what they wanted, set themselves up as the new rulers. Gym Leaders, the Elite Four, they fought, but were overwhelmed by sheer numbers, if not the strength of the Pokemon that Team Rocket had to draw on. Some said they were dead, others said they had fled to other regions, to rally the forces of those places, and return at the head of a mighty liberating force. And some said they were hiding, waiting for everything to blow over and Team Rocket to collapse under its own incompetence and corruption.

Alex didn't know what to think personally. And honestly, he didn't have much time for that sort of thing. He was more focused on survival, no easy task when one lived in the mountains north of Pewter City, where it was difficult for Team Rocket to reach due to the terrain, and while one could utilize flying types, it wasn't the most helpful. Those who survived had gotten very good at hiding from such patrols.

At the moment though, he was making a journey into Pewter City, nerves firing and alert as he entered the once proud location, now rampant with organized crime and fallen into somewhat disrepair from the fighting that had taken place and hadn't been rebuilt. He was here to get supplies, food, no easy feat, but he had to try. He wore a hate, sunglasses, and kept his Pokeballs out of sight so as to not draw attention to himself as he walked about, looking to find what he had come here for.
Now then, if you make a bunch of clones of yourself and kill them all eventually, is that assisted suicide, or is it murder? I mean, it is you killing yourself. Kinda.
In RWBY 12 yrs ago Forum: Off-Topic Discussion
So yay, more stuff to comment on.

First off, it turns out that Velvet is actually an upperclassman, and has lines now. So she isn't a freshman like everyone apparently thought. Weiss is a dog person, Blake is not (surprise surprise), and Tai Long is kind of a jerk for sending a dog and two weeks of food in the mail. And that dog is totally stuffed into Ruby's backpack, just saying.

More character development, Ironwood is a very direct, blunt kind of guy. Pre emptive strike with overwhelming force, end the threat before it begins. Also, history. Color based names come from some conflict that may or may not be related to the Human-Faunus War, though you wonder how they managed to fight these conflicts with the Grimm so prevalent beyond the walls of the kingdoms and the geographical distances involved. But I suppose things were different then. It might be that that war was what shattered the Moon.

Moreon, nice guy Ozpin, also genre savvy, and realizes that it's better to officially endorse RWBY's presence on the mission rather than having them sneak behind his back. Of course, considering who they ended up with, this can only end well next episode.
Ah. I see. Didn't really take him as the 'shits and giggles' kind of guy.
Yawn. I wonder how he'll react to Ba'al's conservative body count of over 60 million people :p

Shit happens when you're an egotistical, cliche evil, megalomaniacal bastard.
Well, Sorin took over the dragon that attacked him, and it's now serving us instead. Wonder how Vash will react to that.

So I think this all proves that Ozpin doesn't have the best judgement when it comes to safety.

I really hope Ironwood doesn't turn out to be the stereotypical military guy who was a villain all along.

Admittedly, he does have a point that they'd just go sneaking behind his back even if they were denied, so it's easier to assign them to this where people can watch them and send them home if need be.

I see Ironwood as a Well Intentioned Extremist, if he does become a villain. Pre emptively crush the threat through a display of overwhelming force, and things will sort themselves out.
If you have ideas, toss them at Grey Star in a PM, and maybe they'll show up.
Tai watched as Priscilla and Robert departed the dropship, Greyson staying here instead and sharpening his sword still. He did have to approve of the dedication there, since maintaining ones weapon was pretty important. Fortunately Tai didn't have to worry about stuff like that for the most part, since his weapon was primarily a blunt object. The only necessary maintenance was making sure the Fire Dust was fully stocked, and the chains that held the thing together.

Other than that though, he continued his objective silence, glancing out the window and occasionally humming a tune that wasn't quite any song that he'd actually heard, as he soaked in the previous experiences and planned what he was going to do when he got back. It was all part of how he was, careful and rational planning, maximum effect for minimum effort, rolling with the flow and momentum of affairs. So once they got back he would be able to set out resolutely, with a clear plan in mind.
Feel like I should wait for one more person to post before I do so again.
