Too bad Belle doesn't know that, because that's out of universe info, even if it's correct.
Meh, it's fine.

So, anyone remember that quote about asking stupid questions? :p
Ba'al was all set to implement the plan he had decided on, and let Balalaika lead the way up to the summit, under the theory of testing what kind of leader she was. By going in first, she would be the first to be killed should something attack, and the one who would also have to worry the most of betrayal. After all, you couldn't see what your foes were doing behind you. As one who had been in that subordinate position for so long, Ba'al knew the complexities that came with command well, and even though he was heavily more qualified to be in charge than this Tau'ri, he'd let her lead the way, and paint the target on her back.

Or rather not, for before that could culminate in anything, they suddenly found themselves under attack from above. Placing survival above valor, and perfectly willing to let everyone think he was a coward, Ba'al naturally moved to get into cover, away from the rain of...black stuff, that impacted all around and made the one decent looking mountainside a warzone between the Dragon and them all. Glancing from his rocky cover, Ba'al took in the Dragon, and had to keep from rolling his eyes. Well, this was going to be fun.

Fortunately his companions were up to the task and moved in to attack, and Ba'al got the chance to observe them all in action. Saber had her invisible sword, another fellow managing to materialize a spear or lance of some kind from nothingness, Sazh unleashed some kind of flaming sphere with his mind, a VIking fell from the sky, and such. A very impressive lot. Meanwhile, he prepared his Zat.

Meanwhile, the annoying flying girl spoke, and he felt obligated to point out the obvious. "It appears to be some kind of dragon trying to murder us all. If I don't miss my guess, it would appear to be the Legendary Dragon we were sent here on the quest for, so please, ignore it and keep talking." He punctuated the point with a couple Zat shots at the thing, though he didn't expect that to do anything at this point, not without knowing where it's weak spot or resistance to electricity might be.
It seems to be happening.
Well, more people had showed up now, though the other groups of partners seemed somewhat busy with a collapsed student, if what he was seeing was an indication. But his attention was soon drawn back as the two returned from their walk, hopefully enlightened, or not in such a good mood since some sort of confrontation appeared to have happened

"Yes," he replied simply to Priscilla before looking over to Robert. "That is what was formerly another groups method of getting back to the landing site, riding in that with velocity provided via weapon. It did not survive the landing." He fell silent then. If they cared to learn more, they could go find the people who had built and used the thing. He, on the other hand, would endeavor to make sure that his partner didn't try to follow their example. With his luck, he'd probably break his leg or something.
For some reason Thomas had a feeling that the answer he got was the one he should have expected. God forbid a villain act simply because they felt like it. For something like this, he had to have some sort of ulterior motive. Thomas would just have to figure out what it was before the rest of his plan went into motion.

"Well, I certainly wouldn't know," he replied sarcastically. "It's not like I'm talking with a wellspring of information here, giving an exaggerated throwing up of his hands in exasperation. "I'd say you're lucky I even listened to you, Mystery Man." This was true, at least from his perspective. How was he to know the other tricks the man was playing with the darkness in his body?
Yep, what Saint said. And while Kyubey may be a bastard, he doesn't lie.

The Schnee Dust Company already has a monopoly. They have no meaningful competition to get rid of. Still, as stated, I could see attempted war profiteering, engineering conflict to basically force people to buy their weapons. Of course, the shown competence of everyone besides Huntsmen leaves that plan a little bit to be desired, but hey, it wouldn't be the first time people have done stupid stuff like that.

Most Semblances work without Dust, and I doubt the Girmm will do anything differently either until they realize the humans aren't killing them as much, then they'll push all the harder.

In response to three, I wouldn't say they're actually intelligent, they've just been trained to realize that attacking humans equals pain, and pain is bad. Kinda like how we domesticated dogs and stuff. Also, those elephant Grimm were like hundreds of years old. I doubt most Girmm ever get to that level in the first place.

And I still think the Hunters are the 'Good guys'. Peaceufl coexistence is not possible at this point, given the example of the giant abandoned city they just had the episode in.

Also, I think Roman rolls in so much Atlas stuff because Atlas is the country with all the tech, so naturally that's what he'd use.

Well, called it on the dog. No big surprise.

Sadly, no Oobleck combat, but my respect for him as more than just the guy with the coffee addiction has risen tremendously.

Seeing Mountain Vale was definitely interesting, and the Mumakil-esque Grimm. Meanwhile, character development, even if I wasn't too surprised by it. Most of that was stuff I had guessed about the trio beforeheand, but hearing it said is nice, I guess. Decent episode, looking forward to next week.
