Hello all. Call me Funk, I guess. I'm currently twenty-five and have been role playing since I was...around seven, I s'pose. On and off over the years. Fine with free and casual roleplays, and certainly capable of advanced roleplays as well. I'd like to keep it fairly light for now though. Admittedly my confidence is a bit shaken in regards to my writing at the moment due to a long string of horrible experiences on another website. Figured going somewhere new and fresh might help a bit.
Can't really say that I know exactly what I want, just that I'm looking to have fun with whatever topics I'm in and am absolutely open to plotting with other participants. Usually work from 6 AM - 2:30 PM EST but am otherwise free, so feel free to poke me whenevs.

Kumiko felt a sinking sensation in her stomach as Tora suggested Kai run off toward the screaming. Alone. In the dark, while monsters were trying to hunt their prey. This scenario seemed far too familiar for her to simply play along even if he did seem like one of the more powerful members of the club.
"I really think somebody should tag along and-" she started to protest, poking her head out from behind her cover only for her words to fall on deaf ears. With a nod he looked over the group one last time before dashing off. Fantastic. Pouting, the freshman pulled her shield from the ground and charged forward, spires of rock and dirt shooting outward from the ground to send the demons flying into the air from the impact. While Kumiko could at least take comfort that he didn't do something like talk about how it was his last day before retirement, she was still eager to end this skirmish now for her own reasons. To say nothing of this test that was apparently a thing.
With Nate's plan in motion she shut her eyes at the end of the countdown, protecting herself from the intense flash. The sound of chaotic chattering filled the air only to be silenced as their enemies were cut down by her classmates. Instead of taking the opportunity to dish out more damage as well, however, she felt her body move of its own will toward Nate, raising her shield as she came to a stop in front of him. Several small pebbles that littered the park began to vibrate for a brief moment before levitating toward the pair, rotating in a circle around their position.
"I've got your back," she reassured her classmate. Now at the center of the battle she had a much better view of their enemies, all of which seemed to be instinctively stumbling in the same direction after that last surprise. All away from the civilians Kai had gone to rescue. "Um. Hey, there's-" She began, only for her voice to be drowned out by the loud crackling of Seth's attack. Getting flustered, Kumiko huffed before throwing her arm out, pointing toward the new fixation the imps had settled on.
"Hey! Try over there!"

Idly playing with the ring on her finger, Kumiko's mind had begun to wander shortly after upon hearing their target would be imps. Yet again.
"I mean, it could be worse. At least it's something cute." Kumiko chimed in response to the group's complaints, reaching up with her free hand to rub her eyes as she fought the urge to let out a yawn. To say that she was acclimated to this new schedule the Occult Club would be a bit of a stretch. Once the small creatures began to crawl from the earth, her eyes seemed to light up in an odd sense of appreciation toward the monsters. Throwing her arms forward her ring began to glow orange, a large metallic object phasing into reality. Grabbing onto the handle on the back Kumiko slammed the shield downward, planting the pointed end into the soil as she hid her small frame behind her 'weapon'.
"It won't take too long. I'm sure you can get that beauty sleep, Rin." She taunted, being sure to place far too much emphasis than necessary on those two words. In the midst of her comment, one of the monsters contorted its form in an erratic manner before crouching down to break into a leap toward the group. With a soft giggle, Kumiko's ring lit up once again and a small pebble on the nearby ground suddenly shot to the Imp much like a bullet. With a pop it pierced the imp's chest sending it tumbling backward to the nearby sidewalk. With a shriek two more immediately appeared near it, baring their claws toward the students.
"Then again, shooting fish in a barrel would still depend on, uh...how many fish."

- At first glance Kumiko is the last person one would associate the element of "Earth" with. Standing at only 5'2" in height and with a relatively thin build, her frail appearance is offset by her will to take charge and lead others to victory.
- Curious, upbeat, and often rather dense Kumiko an easy target for practical jokes and manipulation. Once her mind has been decided upon something, however, she is nearly immovable in spite of whatever circumstances or even evidence may challenge her viewpoint.
- Has an extreme obsession with horror fiction and darker themes hidden beyond her bubbly exterior. This interest is what led to her looking into the Occult Club shortly before being chosen as the Earth element.
- Holds a grudge against Kurohime Rin and is jealous of her element, feeling darkness would be much more suitable for her than earth.
- Moved to Octoberville two years ago with her older brother and father, who were drawn to the town by its unique properties.
- Primarily relies on the power of her element to deal damage and trap her enemies, supplementing it when necessary with blunt strikes from her weapon. Still lacking in physical strength in spite of the training from Professor Himitsu, she must use her shield with both her hands when its manifested.
