Kay listened as Serena explained what was happening, not knowing fully what to do other than rubbing the woman's shoulder and arm in a comforting manner. Yet when Serena's really sunk in to what she said she realised that she was describing her own nightmare from last night which took her greatly by surprise. She was about to call out for John when she heard Chas call out that he had arrived as John seemed to walk into the kitchen anyway. She remained being the support as John tried to see what was happening and how to help Serena, whilst also noticing Chas walking down the stairs and into the kitchen to see a familiar situation to the previous day.

He listened as Serena spoke finding it interesting that Nyx was more than she initially explained. "is there anything I can do to help?" he asked, putting the bag he had down on the worktop.
"sure thing, I'll be right back" Kay replied to him, standing up and headed out the room toward the kitchen, where she saw Serena on the floor holding her head. "hey.. Hey you okay?" she asked, walking over and squatting down. She had no clue what was going on but what she did know was that Serena was in pain for some reason. She couldn't see any sign of Chas being back yet and wondered if he got held up at work or something.

Chas was held up, but not solely because of work. He was nearby in his cab, pulled over to the side of the road as he took a call he had been waiting for. He listened and chatted to the person on the other end, whilst jotting down what he was being told. It wasn't much information but it was heavy enough that he needed to digest it relatively slowly so he could actually write it down correctly and understand it. The last thing he wanted was to give John wrong information because he nis heard or misunderstood something told to him by his contact. "cheers mate, I owe you one." he said on the phone eventually, hanging up and driving to the old mill house to where John resided. It only took him a couple of minutes if that to get back, before turning the engine off, taking his keys and anything else he had gotten. Stepping out of the car, he walked to the front door and inside, "I'm back!" he called down to everyone.
Kay let John do the search, knowing that he'd know what to search for a lot more than she would. She couldn't help but lean slightly closer to the desk and computer, whilst also remaining close to John. With the results coming up she didn't think it'd be such a common scenario to happen. "I'm not sure exactly.. Or at least I can't remember if we were ever told, but I last saw her leaving home. We lived in London so I'd presume she would have been last seen somewhere there" she explained. She couldn't imagine her mother having been seen anywhere else in the world as the last words she faintly remembered being told was that she'd be back soon. Her mother didn't plan on dying or going missing, she planned on coming right home to her husband and daughter. For her mother to not have come home to her family, something had to have gone drastically wrong in Kay's eyes. Her mother would never just up and leave her kid, especially when her kid at the time was just nine years old.

"I'm gonna get another drink, you want one? Something tells me we'll need it as we'll be here a while" she then said to John, placing the notepad and pen down on the desk in front of her.
Kay listened with great interest at what John was explaining, knowing that he was saying was something she never would have thought of herself. It was highly curious to say the least. At the mention of where a pad and pen was, she looked where he was gesturing, finding it and grabbing it, flipping the pad open ready to jot down anything of interest that John would possibly find online, to do with the month and year she gave him. She was unaware of what was happening to Serena in the kitchen, of she had known she would have gone straight to her instantly. Instead she found herself immersing her attention into what her and John were doing, to find information on her mother's death.

Now she was actively able to look into it thanks to John, she was actually nervous about what they would find. She grew up with no answers, being shut out of anything that would be helpful if she tried to ask her father about it. Now she was finding someone could help to give her the answers she always needed deep down.
Kay nodded, and let him get up to go to the work room, she looked at Serena who told her to go help John, "if you're sure, thanks Serena" she replied, getting up from her chair and headed to where John was. She walked in and saw him logging onto the Internet and walked over, perching on the spare chair beside him. "how come you think it's weird it's before the turn of the new century?" she couldn't help but ask him, having never really thought about it before now. She just always thought of it as the year she was nine years old, and considering her birthday was in May, she hadn't been nine for long.

"is there anything I can do to help? Maybe write anything you find down or anything?" she also asked him.
Kay listened to what John was saying and explaining, and at his question, she had to think to make sure her maths was correct and she was remembering correctly. "well, I'm 31 now so it'd have been 1999" she replied after Serena said her bit about how they could use the year to try and do some digging. "September of 1999 to be precise if I'm remembering correctly" she added. She hoped they could give her answers and closure about what happened to her mother by finding out her location of her death. If they could find out where she died, maybe, just maybe Kay could go there and get the closure she so desperately needed as well as possibly some answers or some clue to finding out more about who she was.
Kay listened to the two of them reply to her, understanding that it could be tricky in some ways when dealing with the past, even if she wasn't fully clued up on everything involving this world of such things. "I understand" she simply replied before looking at Serena, shaking her head. "I never saw it. Was only told about it, like I said my mind if foggy on a lot of details, but I do remember seeing my mother leave the house to go out one day, and she never returned. That's it really, apart from being told she was gone and presumed dead." she explained. "In the book I was reading, it said that if a phoenix dies for good, there wouldn't be a body anyway, as like in the mythology we just turn to ash surrounded in fire." she added.
FYI I won't be on much tomorrow due to work so I'll try and reply when I can but it'll be slower than normal from tonight.
Kay listened to what John was saying about what he found out and she found it incredibly curious to say the least. It didn't ring any bells to her, so she shook her head but she became more curious when Serena suggested it was to do with her mother. "it doesn't ring a bell with me but I blocked out a lot of the day of when we were told she was found dead somewhere, or so they thought was her body. I can't remember much of it." she added, "but if she did have a shadow watching over her I didn't know anything about it" she continued. "do you think there'd be a way to find any of those answers out?" she asked them both, wondering if either or both had any possible answers to it.

Kay nodded at John's reply, thinking it was admirable and somewhat baffling how Chas was able to keep a proper job whilst doing what he did with John. She then looked at Serena as she replied to her and smiled, glad that it was a good sleep. At the suggestion of digging I to the breakfast, Kay had no qualms of doing so, picking up her cutlery and doing exactly that. "these are good Serena!" she commented after her first mouthful, before yet again turning to John, "seems both of us have a past that still haunts us" she said to him between mouthfuls of crepe and fruit.

After that she barely spoke as she continued to eat as much as she could deem necessary before leaning back in her chair and sighing happily that she substantially full. "did you find anything else out last night about anything?" she asked him evenfual
