"Don't beat yourself up okay? You're alive and that's all that matter." Sam reassured her, rubbing Kay's back, Kay nodding and slowly lifting her head to look at her sister before a powerful surge of pain coursed through her. Yet it wasn't her pain, it was pain being transferred through to her through her bond on her wrist. "Kay? Kay what's wrong?" Sam asked, worried as she saw her sister double over and wincing.

"I...I have to go, something is wrong" she hissed out, seeing her wrist bond sigil glow lightly under her hoodie sleeve, "But you just got here, what's going on?" Sam asked panicked, "Just, just stay here Sam, I'll be back, I promise" she told her, getting up onto her feet but staggering to the front door. "But you're not okay" Sam pleaded back trying to stop her sister from possibly hurting herself outside. "I'll be fine...I have to get to John" Kay said, getting to the door and opening it.
MIKA CHAMBERS

Mika pulled up next to Dean's right side as she saw Natalia who was ahead had pulled up on his left. She was just cutting the engine when Dean got out his impala, walked over to her car and opened her door. At his idea, she fully agreed with the plan. If what Natalia's contact said was true, and she had no reason to doubt it as she hadn't met the person in question or Natalia, then they really did need to be incredibly smart about their plan of action. She nodded her agreement as he pulled out a piece of paper and showed her as he read it out, leaning back in her seat so Annabeth could lean over and see it also.

"Yeah we're definitely going to need to be smart about this and properly prepared whilst also being discreetly prepared and kitted out. The longer we can go without a fight breaking out the better" she agreed after Dean and Annabeth both spoke up. At the mention of the fact that Esme and Cason weren't around, she looked around the parking lot and unable to see Esme's car. "Dunno, I can't see her car here. Maybe they went on ahead for food or something?" she suggested, not thinking that anything could be wrong with the two of them.

NATALIA AND SAM WINCHESTER

As Dean, Mika and Annabeth spoke, Nat opened her car door and stretched her legs out before getting out of the car and walking over to Sam's door, gesturing for him to wind the window down which he did. "So you two good?" she asked, nodding her head towards Dean whilst looking at Sam. "Yeah I think so...it wasn't the most pleasant of drives but I've had worse with him, so that's a plus?" Sam replied with a soft smirk and scoff.

"Good, you're alive so it couldn't have been that bad" she teased making Sam just roll his eyes and smirk more. "What was the whole speed racing ahead about?" he asked her, this time it being Natalia's turn to smirk and scoff, "Make you both actually smile and put a break in the blantant tension that would have been in the car. I didn't need to be in the car to know that. THat and I wanted to be the asshole sister with the faster car for once, just to wind up Dean" she said mischieviously, a glint in her eye appearing as she said so.

"you are lucky you're who you are. Dean wouldn't let me get away with nearly as much as you do" Sam told her playfully, but Nat just smirked and shrugged. "So, I'm guessing we're holding up here to get rooms then discussing the gameplan for how to go about this case?" she asked him, to which he nodded, "Yeah, he's telling the others now" he said back. "You gonna get in contact with that Josiah?" he asked her, "Yeah, should probably make sure he's alive and well after dealing with another case before this one. He had to deal with a wraith solo" she explained, to which Sam winced in response, "rather him than me" he stated.

"Got that right." Nat said back with a smile.
"I guess I have, but you know this area, this is pretty standard. But no changing the subject. Why didn't you come home?" Sam asked Kay as she watched her sit on the couch, making her sit next to her. She had missed Kay dearly and always felt protective over her ever since it was her idea when they were nine years old for her parents to take Kay in. "Like I said, things are complicated. I didn't wanna risk you getting hurt so I just ran...I guess, I guess I forgot coming home was even an option" Kay said back to her, but truth was, she hadn't forgotten, she just really didn't want to lead demons to Sam's location. "Staying away kept you safe, let you complete uni, go on to do whatever you wanted in life. I didn't want to drag you down into my sorry life again" she added with a heavy sigh.

She then felt a slap on the arm, making her wince and rub her arm, "You're an idiot Kay Hale. You should never be worried about that, we've been best friends since we were what...4 years old? If not younger, I'm not going to abandon you just like that. I've been so worried you were dead somewhere, so was mom and dad." Sam replied to her, trying to not cry all over again at having Kay back in her life. Kay coudl do nothing but put her head down and look at the floor, she felt awful.
Sam smirked as he rolled his own eyes at Dean's growing boy comment. It wasn't the first time he heard that and he knew in that moment it wouldn't be the last time either. But honestly, he was glad in this moment he did hear it because it mesnt somewhere deep in the grief and mourning, Dean was still able to show his true self and he wasn't completely lost to the world.

His and Lexi's eyes both followed Dean back to the table casually and let him say what he wanted to, Sam knowing it was true what he was saying. He had a lot to thank bringing Lexi over for as this was an added bonus he never counted for, but glad it happened. The idea that because of Lexi being around meant Dean would get out of his self destructive pattern, just for a moment was of great relief to him, and he hoped this was the start of him moving forward.

Lexi looked at Dean back and smiled when he said the pie was perfect, giving him a nod of thanks in return as he continued to say that he's far from okay still. It was to be expected, no food or guest in the world would just act like a magic wand and whisk everything away, she knew that more than anyone, but if it helped just a little bit to make facing people easier, then it was a win in her eyes.

At the nod toward Sam, he knew what his brother was trying to convey and gave him a nod back. That perfect unspoken ability they both had always coming in handy at times like this. He snapped out of his thoughts when Dean asked about the hunt they were working on and it brought Sam back to remembering that this was another reason why he offered to bring Lexi back here as he knew they had plenty of books to get information. "oh right, yeah, the hunt." he started to reply, "its a confusing one. Some of the victims we've come across or clues lead to vampire, but others lead to an animal based creature but both lead to every single victim" he explained.

"but all have been drained of their blood." Lexi continued, "so we thought vampires initially, but the real kicker is one of the victims managed to call the cops before they died, the call stated one of the previous, very much dead victims was in their house. But there's no evidence of it being zombies. So yeah, it's confusing. Hoping the books here will give us an answer" she finished saying.

"don't worry about it. I get it, I got Lexi to help anyway. We were practically on the same hunt before we teamed up anyway" Sam told his brother.
Kay briefly pulled away and wiped her eyes with the back of her arm before glancing back as she heard the car pull away. "who were those people?" Sam asked her, watching the car leave the parking spot. "it's a long story.." Kay replied, as Sam lead her inside, closing the door behind them both. "well, you got a lot of explaining to do about why you've stayed away from your family so long, and what was with Ethan" Sam told her. "I know I do and I will explain everything, I promise. At least, as best as I can" Kay reassured her sister.

She wanted to tell her everything but she also didn't want to drag her into everything either. She was terrified of having her sister think her crazy, so she had to come up with some normal life situations to use as an explanation, just for now. "I guess I can start with who those people are" Kay began. "John and Serena, the people in the car fou d me when I was hiding from Ethan. Ethan was on some kind of drug... Or something. Those two people saved me and I owe them my life. Serena became a friend and John? Well, that's...complicated. But I think we're an item, we just haven't really properly discussed terms" she began saying as she followed Sam into the living room and sat on the couch.

The place looked so cosy and homely. "you seem to have done alright for yourself though" she tried to change the subject.
Kay nodded and stepped out of the car, closing the door behind her and stared up at the house. She took a deep breath, unsure if she could actually do this but she knew she had to. Exhaling deeply she walkes up the front porch and lifted her hand up to knock on the door, but hesitated at first. "you can do this.." she whispered to herself, before managing to actually knock on the door.

"be right there!" came the familiar sound of Sam through the house before Kay hesrd her footsteps toward the door and the door unlocking then opening. "h-hey" Kay stammered looking at her sister in the eyes, but instead of a greeting back she practically got pounced on and hugged tightly. "oh my god Kay! I thought... I thought Ethan had killed you!" Sam cried into her shoulder, making Kay hug her sister back just as tightly and the floodworks just opened.
Kay stirred awake when she felt John's hand on her shoulder and hesrd his voice pierce through her sleep. Opening her eyes she gave a small yawn, lowering her arm that she was leaning on, her elbow giving a little pop sound as she did so. She looked at John and Serena as she focused her eyes before glancing at the house they were parked in front of and felt that all too familiar tight knot in her stomach of nervousness.

"guess there's no turning back now" she mumbled, looking back at the other two. "I'll text one of you or put it in a group text if I need you both" she told them, opening the passenger door. "and you two do the same okay?" she added.
Kay nodded at John's words, "thanks John" she replied.

The drive to Seattle was long and required at least a couple of pit stops for breaks and switch overs between Kay and Serena driving. Kay hadn't driven in a long time so it really took it out of her, as they neared Seattle's seafront downtown area Kay had left the driving to Serena, leaving her with the satnav guide to the last place she knew Sam lived. During her break from driving she had fallen asleep in the backseat, her head against her arm that was propped up against the window.

From where they were it would have taken Serena another ten minutes to get to the house in question.
As the two of them discussed the plan that they had so far, Kay focused on the driving out of town and following the satnav. She felt a small pang of guilt making both John and Serena go to look into the god vessel problem on their own, but she knew she had to check in on Sam alone and make sure she was safe, whilst hoping that the demons and downworld creatures that were hunting her, wouldn't find her in Seattle and follow her.

"I'll meet up with you two as soon as I can, I just need to know Sam is safe first" she finally spoke up.
Mika let Bobby say his point of view more, knowing it was better for him to get all his reservations about this whole plan out the way now rather than make him be silent and dwell on them. Bobby would always be more of her father than her actual father was to her, and despite her stubborn decision to leave home with Dean when the time came, she did care deeply about what he thought an dloved him dearly.

She continued to sit there and let the men discuss everything between them, when she could hear and see them get heated once more even though she fully agreed with Dean's comments about them being able to look after each other. She flinched slightly as Bobby brought up the example of the werewolves practically gutting Dean, knowing Dean would have to have a damn good counter if Bobby was to back down after that and luckily for Dean, he did have a good counter.

Mika was about to say speak up when Bobby spoke before her and echoed her comments she hadn't even said, without him even knowing it. As he walked away she too sighed and leaned sideways, placing her head on Dean's shoulder. "could have gone worse I guess" she quietly remarked to him, not wanting to be too loud whilst Bobby on the phone, to try and find a hunter or several to finish the job they couldn't. "but thanks for having my back" she added, weaving one arm through his and her other arm over his same arm as a sort of hug action.

"I just hope he does let me go when the day comes" she sighed, always worried that Bobby would go back on his word because that was what her own biological father would do. There was no way she would bail out on going with Dean, and if it did mean she snuck out at night to try and catch up to Dean, she would sure as hell do it, even if it mesnt she left an apology letter to Bobby in the process.

"on another note, I can't help but feel he would have reacted better to some mundane normal announcement than this" she sadly smirked, as she was far from amused by her thinking but it was a fact she was thinking nonetheless.
