Seeing Serena begin to cry in front of her pulled at Kay's heartstrings greatly. "Shh...it's okay" she told her softly, pulling her into her side more and rubbing her arm comfortingly. "please don't be sorry. I'm accepting that any time i leave a house I'm going to be in danger. I've lived with this risk for over two years now. I hate it, but I'm used to looking over my shoulder all the time. It just so happens that this time I wasn't looking around my surroundings and stupidly thought I was safe in Sam's backyard. But you've got nothing to be sorry for" she told her. "No one could have thought I'd have been in trouble out there taking some damn trash out. So please don't feel like you need to be sorry for anything" she added.

Sam looked up at John as she saw him trying to eavesdrop on the conversation in the kitchen, making her discreetly smile slightly into her tea. "I'm sure Kay will tell you what needs to be said when they're done. But something just tells me Kay will know what to say when it comes to helping Serena" Sam told him.
Sipping her hot tea, Kay let Serena open up and tell what she needed to. The idea that she felt she could let herself take it too far for her was quote Jo estly astounding and baffling to Kay. Sure, she had people have her back before, well, had Sam. But the idea that she really did have a good friend having her back was still something she had to learn to welcome. Which she did, it was just an amazing thing to her. She put her mug down and put her arm round her in a sort of side hug, "Serena, we all have those moments, but know you never have to go so far to feel like you've lost a bit of yourself for me. But you are still Serena, the badass woman who has my back, no matter what."she began telling her.

"I know what it's like to see red when someone pisses you off massively. I've been there, before all this crazy world became my own. When I was like fifteen, a kid at school was givi g Sam hell. Told me I shouldn't associate myself with someone who is attracted to other girls. That she was disgusting and sinful and if I side with her I'm just as bad. Of course, it's all bullshit but in that moment, I saw red big time. I stormed that kid so hard I bowled him over to the ground and punched him so hard I broke his nose and gave him the biggest black eye ever." she continued to tell her, "I was so ready to knock him into hospital and I almost did if it wasn't for a teacher Nx Sam pulling me off of him. I ended up being taken to the police station and my folks had to work so hard for me to not get a criminal record and taken to juvi. I felt like an utter monster afterwards because it wasn't like me." she admitted.

"but I got through those feelings with work and Sam by my side and that's gonna be the same for you. You got myself, John, Chas a d Josh all by your side to keep reminding you you're not a bad person. That mage was literally gonna kill me because he was getting power hungry. He was killing Fee from within me. Stopping him was the right thing to do. You're my hero" she finished telling her honestly.
"what he said, she might be a bit quiet to begin with, but you know how to step around someone in that situation" Sam agreed with John, making Kay nod and carefully get up off the couch with a groan. "be right back then" she said to them both, taking her mug with her, she walked into the kitchen and saw how Serena was.

"hey.." she said softly, walking up and sitting on a stool beside Serena, placing her mug down on the counter. "talk to me? What happened?" she asked lightly, not wanting to overstep her mark but still wanted to show that she was concerned about Serena in her tone at the same time.
Kay sat up and took her mug, holding it firmly in her hands and close to her as John spoke to Sam. "She's a bit shaky and trying to calm down from how far she went, but she hasn't said just how far she went. Just that having Kay safe and okay made it worth it" Sam replied in explanation. "maybe I should go to her?" Kay suggested, looking between Sam and John for some kind of clarification if it was a good idea or not.
John's ability to smell tea from another room made Kay smile and snigger slightly. "Of course you can smell the tea from another room." she remarked. "It also wouldn't surprise me if she is worried about her. She's always been that kind of person. She was the one who told our folks to adopt me when my biological dad walked out on me. If it wasn't for her, they wouldn't even have known I got abandoned" she explained.

Sam kept watch over Serena for a moment or two, wanting to make sure she was okay before picking up two other mugs. "I'll be right back hun, just gonna give the others their teas" she told her, and then walked into the living room putting the mugs on the table in front of John and Kay. "here, this'll help with calming you both" she told them.
Kay found herself gripping John tighter when he told her he would always come for her. She wasn't usually the sentimental or emotional type, but since being with John and being linked with him, she had grown to be a lot more open with her emotions and feelings for another person. "And I'll always come running for you when you need me" she told him back.

When Serena reached the kitchen Sam smiled and placecd the mug of hot tea in front of her. "It's okay, hopefully this will help. It's a special brew that has a calming factor in it. it always works for me, so hopefully it'll help you" she explained.
John's words made Kay nod slowly as she took in his words. The fact he would willingly out his own soul back on the line for her hit her hard emotionally. She didn't even care that his shirt was blood stained, she moved from her position and curled into him, hugging him tightly. "thank you for saving me John. For a brief moment I thought I'd never see any of you again, I'm glad I was wrong" she said to him.

Sam nodded at Serena's words but didn't say anything more to her. Instead she let her take her time to gather herself by leaving her be and heading into the kitchen. Taking the kettle off the stove, she pulled four mugs down from the cupboard and the teabags, putting one in each mug before pouring the hot water into each mug.
Kay listened to him tell her what happened and looked down at her hands, which she interlinked together. "I can't believe I'm saying this but... I'm glad she stopped you from going that far. I'm more glad that you got me out of there though" she told him. "having my phoenix aura be literally ripped from me? It's like nothing I've ever felt before, I could not only feel my pain, but Fee's as well" she explained, unblinking her fingers and running her left index finger round the rope marks on her right wrist. "I thought I'd be gone before you got to me John..."

"it's okay, I'll be in the kitchen so meet me in there Nd you'll have a warming cup of tea waiting for you" Sam replied to her, standing up as she hesrd the kettle whistle as it reached its boiling point. "Kay is awake and alright, if that brings any comfort" she added.
As John returned, Kay reopened her eyes and looked at him, now seeing the bloodied state he was in, making the connection to why Sam wanted him out the room moments ago. She nodded at his first question as she ran a hand through her hair, tucking some behind her ear. "I'm okay.. Disorientated a little, but okay" she replied to him as she hesrd the front door open and close in the hallway.

"I'll be right back, leave you two to it" Sam spoke, standing up off the floor a d heading to the kitchen to do what she promised Serena...putting on the kettle on the stove to make cups of tea for everyone. As she let that do its job, she walked to where Serena was and squatted down. "why don't you come into the kitchen, it'll be more comfortable than the floor" she suggested.

Kay looked at John's shirt once more then up into his eyes, "what happened John? How are you so bloody?" she asked him.
Kay gripped Sam's hands tightly, wanting to feel that security she always used to from her sister. She hoped John was okay and Serena, despite her being in her own predicament. "Are they okay? Where's Serena?" she asked Sam, "It's okay Kay, they're okay. You don't need to worry about them, just focus on yourself alright? You are allowed to put yourself first sometimes" Sam told her, stroking her hair, albeit she reached out hesitantly at first.

With Sam stroking her hair, Kay closed her eyes and sighed, feeling a sense of calm wash over her. "I just want them to be safe and okay as well" Kay said with a sigh, slowly reopening her eyes and found her vision was coming back to her as she focused her eyes on Sam's face. "I know, but they're going to be fine. Serena just needed some air that's all, she'll be in soon and JOhn will be back shortly as well" Sam explained.
