King Redswift wasn't interested in eating, especially not the poorly cooked human slop that was presented to him, he noted the arrival of the elf woman who enetered the guild hall. She was fairly attractive but was obviously of common stock, not fit for a king to desire at all. He was then approached by the human sorcerer, the one who spoke elven with a suprisingly refined accent. The magic user asked Redswift what he was doing here. You can call me Redswift in this context human, I'm not your royalty here. Redswift turned towards him with a measure of respect, that he would not usually show most humans. I have come here driven by shame, I was exiled from my former kingdom because the highly corrupt council would not accept my half human brother. I have decided to search for him and hopefully build an army and wealth so I can take my kingdom back, from the councilman who stole it from me, it is my birthright. Redswift then sat down on one of the near by stools and removed his helmet.

Nick crawled to his feet, and spat on the floor he slowly limped towards where Vee was and perched himself on the armrest of the sofa. aww RayRay looks like we are in opposite teams, such a shame, Id love to get a bit more time continue this great bonding session weve had, maybe I'll just have to catch up with you when you ain't expecting it.... Nick flipped Ray off, and looked at the tablet with Veronica, he wasn't crazy about the group he landed in, but only because Emily wasn't in it, either way he was just be happy to be finally doing something else that wasnt 'socialising' with the happy bunch in the cafe. upon looking over the Patterson's crimes his face suddenly became serious, he saw the armed robbery offenses and his strong dislike for guns started to emerge. Veronica, let Emily deal with her own case, we can find this family in our own group, pull up all the news reports of their previous offenses and locations of the crimes, if you can get me in a library, or an online equivalent I can whip up some temporary detective skills and pick up on the trail of this happy family. Nick was no longer smirking, his voice was no longer a boyish sneer, he was dead focused on finding the family, and started downloading E books on criminal behavior patterns and robbery on to his personal tablet. He heard Penolope talk about her dislike for the Patterson head of family, and for the first time felt empathy with another of the groups feelings. Penolope, I heard we arent allowed to let them die.... Nick's smile returned with an encouraging glint in his eye. But I think me and you should, make them wish they were dead. Nick grabbed his large knife and stabbed it into the coffee table. Game on.

Weight does not necessarily proportion to speed, especially in boxing :D Ray has had boxing as his focus for over ten years of his life. Plus, technique is only part of the speed. A good deal of it comes from muscle that Nick has not had the chance to build up yet. In any case, knowing the theory of boxing or fighting or how a person moves is useless once in the fight itself. Fighters have spent years studying each other, and in the end they still end up having to improvise on the go. If learning how to fight was all a person needed, then there wouldn't be anymore knockouts, and what fun would that be? xD

Ahh of course, but the ability to put a theory to physical movement is something that most people cant do, thats why the need to 'drill' to train their body to 'remember' how to move, even if their mind already knows how it works. Nicholas has a superhuman ability to bring that altogether in a way that nobody else can. http://powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Adoptive_Muscle_Memory This is a subset of 'clarity' the ability to learn isnt just the speed in which he picks things up, its the way he learns. But I do take your point he may not be as fast just down to his weight, but I believe Nick is very agile anyway, regardless of his powers. definatley not as explosive as ray though. And as you say 'improvising' on the go is where Nick is actually miles ahead, as improvising is learning and reacting on the spot, which Nick's power allows him to do much more quickly and efficiently then anybody else.

Nick's face was still throbbing, but his ridiculously defiant personality had taken over his body and was once again in Ray's face, hands at the ready to throw down. But his arrogance in his new boxing skill made him temporarily ignorant to Ray's superhuman abilities. Just as Nick was about move into position to counter the next punch, his eyes experienced a painful flash as his sight was literally 'turned off' by the Boxer's light powers. Ahh, you cheap meatheaded bastard, you know I would have smacked you about in a fair fight, so you pull this blind shit? wait till I learn how to..OOOFFF! Nick's ranting was cut short by a much more powerful force than the previous jab, Nick couldn't see but from the power and the angle of the impact he quickly deduced it was a right cross, the power was overwhelming not only did the punch knock the wind out of him but he also crumpled to the ground in pain. Then as sort of follow up, him and Ray both got hit with jolts of blue energy which pinned him to the ground in a stunned state, Ray also being stunned allowed his vision to come back has he lost focus on his power. All he could do was look up at Heather and scowl. Youre...lucky....I cant learn...that...blue energy shit....

Well he doesn't have ray's strength, but Nick is in good shape and he's a lot lighter, so with the same technique as the larger man he would be just as fast or faster. And as far as the clarity, he knows the basics of boxing just from watching ray throw one punch, because all of the subtle things that normal humans may look over about his form, angles of his shoulders, the way throws the punch and the way he retracts it, is an encyclopedia of knowledge to the superhuman ability to pay attention to these very tiny details. Plus its not like Nick has never seen a fight or a boxing match in his life prior to this, he knows the theory of how boxing works anyway, he just needed to be hit with a real life demonstration to put all that knowledge together in a cocktail of pure information and muscle memory.

Nick looked up at the large man and scoffed, he then put his hands down and belched rather loudly in Ray's face. You should stick to the speedbag, Rocky, you have no idea how the power works do you? Nick assumed his new found boxing stance and started to dip and weave very slowly but fluidly. Just because we have the same tools, doesn't mean we are going to build the same house, I don't have to fight like a moronic heavyweight and block punches with my face just because you choose to RayRay. After you jabbed me you raised your right hand to parry, and put weight on your back foot to circle away. You have the tools to fight defensively and I'm going to cherry pick the shit I like about your style and mold it to my own sexy advantage, I'm a lot faster then you now Ray and I know exactly how you throw punches, Id LOVE to see you land a second hit on me.... Nick then turned to the prof and with a cockeyed glance. This low rent Starbucks is starting to bore me, put me in any group and give me any job, I just want to get outta here.

Nick stood there, with his hands swaying, unnervingly relaxed as Ray tied on his large red gloves, and assumed boxing stance. Nick was paying attention to every detail, the angle of the shoulders, the direction of the feet, the slightly bent knees, it was all coming together in one fine collage...Clarity. SMACK! The impact was less like a jab and more of a force of nature, the punch to the face knocked Nick back at least 3 feet and he found himself spiraling backwards into the table, knocking over most of the coffee but he managed to catch the pie. Ahh you motherfucker, that was awesome!! Nick could feel his cheek throbbing, his face was stinging but he was ecstatic, he just learned how to box. Nick rose to his feet, and weaved back over to Ray, his lip started to bleed as his smile got wider. I hope you enjoyed that punchy, because nobody is gonna get such a clean shot on me ever again... Nick's smile turned into a smirk as he flexed his biceps and winked at Emily.
