Yes. 4 was many people's first Persona game. Persona 3 was still very niche in a very niche spin of franchise while Persona 4 was so widely regarded that it launched an anime, it held up the Vita for a few months, had a dancing game spin off, and its cast was the focal point of a fighting game spin off. Now of course the argument can be made that the fighting game is because of both Persona 4 and Persona 3 but the game was called Persona 4 Arena and it wasn't until the Super Turbo version that the rest of the P3 cast was thrown a bone and put in.

Persona 4 basically made Persona a more mainstream series (and no that isn't a bad thing) and even now it's not all that uncommon to hear someone be like "Yeah Persona 5 isn't Persona 4 so I didn't like it". The discussion on which cast is better happens all the time (spoiler alert: Persona 4 has the weakest cast) and that's always going to be a factor but for many, many people Persona 4 is the standard.

I'm not saying Persona 4 is bad, that's insane. But is it the weakest of the 3, 4, 5 'trilogy'? Yeah. Yeah it is.

Right but Persona 3 also got a rhythm dancing game, 4 animated films, a spin-off Anime series and its full cast along with 4's were both in the spotlight in Persona Q. There is no universe in which that game is overlooked, not now at least. Is there a general opinion that 4 is better 3? Sort of, its not exactly unanimous, sort of like the community bitching over FF7 vs FF6.

P5 is critically acclaimed by users and critics alike, its treated like the anime Witcher 3, I'd have to scour the internet long and hard to find people bitching about it not being good cause its not like 4, thats a niche right there.

Is 4 the weakest out 3,4,5? I think so, but by like a pube hair. I guess when talking about underrated and overrated games, it just seems like nitpicking titles from the same series which are like 9.7 9.4 and 9.9 out of 10 seems kinda redundant.

Are they really though?

I mean I prefer 3 to 4 but are people really giving 4 undue massive acclaim that 3 wasn't getting?

I always just saw the consensus as 3 4 5 are all excellent. All of these games score 9/10 and 10/10 across the board. What exactly are people missing?

Welcome warriors to the stage of history!

This is my first ever dice based game, and it is in the spirit of traditional fighting games. Inlcuding another first for me: pre-set characters!

I have 8 warriors for you all to sample and play as, with a plot that connects all of them to Frokane Fighting Tournament. But of course the main feature of this game is the fighting. So there will be two modes to this RP.

If you want to properly take on the role of one of the 8 fighters you can play this as a Story Mode RP where you will learn more about your character, along with leveling up with new moves along the way.

If you simply want to try out the fighting system then Arcade Mode is for you. Just a 1 on 1 Arena style fight.

This RP will be Cross-Posted in both Arena and Tabletop as it has something for both communities!

This is also a constant WIP and will be refined with new 'versions' as time goes on.

Weapons Grade: Does extra damage with elbows and knees (+2) when health is below 50 but also receives more damage from them.

Overview: Having woken up in a tank in full combat gear with no memory of how she got there or even who she was. Ms Volkov simply read the first name she saw on a discarded name tag (not even sure if it was her) and took it as her own. Every now and again she has nightmares about ferocious combat experiences which seem to be pieces of her memory slowly coming back to her. After a month of dreams and drifting from area to area she finally comes across the Yakuza-run X-1 tournament and her memory starts to kick in about the organization and realises that her past will only be uncovered through fighting.

Special Attacks:

Combat Shotgun: Two hard hook punches to the body followed by a front kick. Can be used to break the clinch.

Landmine: A rolling leg grapple into an ankle lock that grounds both opponents. Can only be attempted from zone 3 and 4.

The Red Scare: A hard knee to the body followed by a guillotine choke that pulls both fighters on to the floor.

Pistol Whip: A ducking dodge into a spinning back elbow to the head.

Keys To Victory:

The Warhawk excels in her ability to control positions, basically keeping the fight where she wants it. Luckily she has tools to be formidable almost anywhere. To maximize damage, focus on getting injury inducing holds and then dispatching your opponent with fast solid combo strikes. The key is to pick your moments to go on the offense to make the most of your toolset.

Overview:
Ivy is the heir to the 2nd richest family in Neo-City. The Izumi family have largely operated 'behind the scenes' because of their Yakuza ties. But Ivy has become a public figure and along with her mother and father have become public figures, promoting the X-1 fighting tournament for the last 6 years. Ivy hopes to turn the family business into a legitimate fighting enterprise so has put everything into promoting her fight cards.

But since a fateful day when she was saved from an Assassin by a young man called Kyo-ji, she realised that she would have to search harder for the best talent in the land. And entered the underground fight circuit herself.

Special Attacks:

Cherry Blossom:
A counter to any kicking move, the ankle will be caught and lifted to a graceful sweeping move to ground the opponent.

Birdcage: A counter to any punching move, opponent will be be afflicted with random status effect and take a break test.

Dancing Fireflies: A graceful pivoting move which puts you to the opponent's side followed by a wrist throw.

Sake Bomb: A short shocking palm thrust to the face, can be used as a stunning attack move or as a counter to a grapple attempt. H

Finger Trap: A wrist and hand submission hold used on either a standing or grounded opponent.

Keys To Victory:

Ivy is neither strong or damaging but her amazing technique means that she will execute her interesting moves with relative ease. She is a totally defensive fighter with an emphasis on countering and inflicting a wide range of status effects on her opponent to render them helpless. She is also very fragile so use her techniques to avoid damaging moves at all costs.

Overview:
Jacqi was born to fight, her parents speculated that's she probably has the same 'gene' as her scrappy cousin Han. Thrown out of every school she every attended for fighting. Jacqui has now all but given up on education to pursue prize fighting. Using the money to maintain her independence from all authority figures. She hopes to win enough money to start her own fight club, so she can do what she loves every day.

Special Attacks:

Triangle Trap: A counter grapple Triangle choke that can be attempted from any position on the ground as a response to an escape attempt or an offensive grappling move.

Kick & Pick:A roaring roundhouse kick that transitions into ankle pick takedown from the outer orbit or a double leg takedown from the tight circle.

Rain Down Hell: A 3 punch 'ground and pound' strike followed by a devastating top elbow strike. Can only be used from the mount on the ground.

Locker Combination: A combination of a low leg kick and a knee to the body followed by a very fast dirty boxing uppercut. Can only be used in the clinch.

My Anaconda: A surprise rolling anaconda choke from the clinch, grounds both opponents and is effected by the floor and anything in the way of the roll.

A fast flying over hand punch that closes the distance between the two combatants. Can only be used from Zone 4

Keys To Victory:

Jacknife's true strength is with her versatility. She can pose a threat from any distance and aspect of combat, and has a plethora of moves and techniques to creatively keep your opponent guessing. Her stats are not super impressive though and she is a little bit of a glass cannon with her low toughness and hitpoints. So you don't want to take too many chances. Although her high charisma makes her taunting abilities an attractive gamble.
