Takeshi gave a little shrug at that, certainly not going to argue it. Shu was right, every one of them would come to his aid if need be. The fact that he was so willing to accept help too made it insurmountably easier to offer it. The elder boy was a bit more stubborn than that, he'd try it alone as long as he could. Probably part of the reason everyone seemed to adore the little guy a bit more. "Yeah, and we can grow all sorts of things too probably. Apples, peaches, uh... Bananas maybe. Oranges, all kinds of things!" He had no clue how to even go about growing anything, or if it even would grow, but it was worth a shot. And buying all of those seeds was at least something worth using their money for. Seeing as there were so many damned doors to search he opted for them to split up, sending Shu off to check some while he did the others. Sooner or later they were bound to stumble across the right room, hopefully. Watching as Shu sped from door to door Takeshi laughed lightly, shaking his head and continuing on as he was. The little guy sure knew how to make the dullest of tasks exciting, that was for sure.

Vegeta was more than pleased with the progress they were making here. While a full sentence was a little ways away T'charrl now knew a fair amount of phrases, and thanks to the scouter understood what context to use them in. This was turning out really well, he was pleasantly surprised by how efficient they were being. Maybe if they took on some other aliens onto their ship he could instruct them too just to better hone his teaching skills. As it was the whole process, while going well, was a bit awkward. The banging on the door distracted him for a moment, and the sound of Shu's voice carrying through prompted him to get up off of his desk. Holding up a finger for T'charrl to wait he went to the door, sliding it open and looking at Shu puzzled. "Yes? Need something Shu? I thought I heard someone shouting my name, glad to see I'm not crazy..." Curious, where was his brother? Poking his head out of the room he spotted Takeshi coming over, not the most reassuring expressions on his face. A nervous smile coming from that one never bode well unfortunately. With a sigh he stepped out of the doorway so the brothers could come in, folding his arms over his chest. "What's going on?"

Yumi smiled as she stroked Viral's cheek, glad to see it was having some effect. So the gentle touches weren't going to cure things this time, but at least it was enough to keep him calm. So long as she didn't give too much at once, like a hug, he seemed perfectly fine with it. Again Viral backed off, and this time she remained where she was, not wanting to chase him again. If he wanted her here then Viral would come back, no point in forcing herself on him any longer. Curse it all, she really wished there were some lights on, she could see what was happening. Aside from the faint noise of shuffling there was no sound, not until the Beastman groaned once more. Following that noise something brushed up against Yumi's leg, making her jump at first and look down bewildered. No way, was that Viral doing that? He was really out of his mind if he was being this openly affectionate. Even before this entire matter began he had never been this comfortable around her like this. Smiling sheepishly she reached down, not entirely sure what to do before starting to rub his back. Oh hurry up boys...
"Yeah, so a tiger. Oh but now you're so strong they wouldn't be any problem for you. You'd probably just have to poke them and they'd back off, that's how strong you are!" Smiling amused Takeshi released his brother's hand, grabbing at his bicep and giving it a squeeze. "Look at the muscles on you, you're super strong. You really think some overgrown cat on Earth could hurt you now?" Poor Shu, he looked to be pretty worried over Viral, and admittedly his brother was too. Each time the guy changed there was a chance it could do some damage, and at the very least it usually made him feel bad. Nothing that could be helped unfortunately, not until they got him back home to see the good doctor. Climbing up the ramp to the upper deck Takeshi placed his hands into his pockets, smiling at Shu as they walked along. "If we can't find fruit we'll buy it. Heck, maybe we should even plant some fruit trees outside my house!" He had plenty of land after all, and not like anyone else was using it. They could have an orchard if they really wanted, and then Shu would only need to walk outside to get himself some fruit. He did wonder though if having so much fruit always available might be a bit much for the little guy.

Now... Which room were they using as the classroom again? Ah crud, Takeshi couldn't remember. He knew it was on the upper level and on the eastern side of the ship, but the exact room had slipped his mind. Stopping just at the top of the ramp he scratched at his head, frowning while looking at the doors. So there were probably thirty rooms here, a few too many to check. Still, they needed to find Vegeta. Sighing softly he began walking down the corridor, stopping at each door as they reached them and knocking before waiting for a second. "He's gotta be in one of these rooms... Unless they finished and went somewhere else." Damn shame they didn't bring their scouters, they could just call him and have him come down. Unless he didn't have his either. "Shu, how about running ahead and checking some of the rooms?"

Hugs worked last time, so they ought to work this time, right? Apparently not, Yumi gave an inaudible almost squeak as she felt the paws on top of her head, being pushed away and onto her backside as she was nearly toppled over. Getting swiped at a few times too she looked up at Viral, frowning as she tried not to get annoyed with him. So much for him being like a cat and easy to handle, he was proving to be a touch too jumpy. Sighing softly she got back to her feet, putting her hands on her hips as she stared ahead, presumably where Viral was. Okay, talking didn't work, he didn't really seem to be able to understand her right now. That meant going back to the absurd behavior she had been doing a moment ago, hooray. Managing a small smile she let out a soft purr, trying to be a little persistent and show she wasn't going anywhere. How in the world was she supposed to show affection without it being weird though? Stepping closer to Viral she reached out again, this time placing a hand on his cheek and gently stroking it. This was normal enough, right? So why then did she feel totally awkward? Viral would probably go mental right now if he had any idea what was going on.
Takeshi wasn't quite sure how they were supposed to change Viral back. Yumi had done it before, that much he knew, but even then he wasn't sure how. Surely Vegeta had something in mind once they asked him, he knew how Viral worked better than anyone else. Hopefully this wasn't some berserk change and they hadn't just left Yumi in danger, she seemed to be handling it well so far. Once out of the room Shu was given the choice to go to the ramp instead, it would take a bit longer but then they wouldn't agitate his claustrophobia. Quirking an eyebrow Takeshi smiled slightly, starting to pull his sibling along, "So Viral sounds like a tiger? Or a lion, something like that?" He'd never heard one personally, it definitely did sound like a big cat though. Had their friend gone and changed into one then? Weird, he knew Viral could change, but not into a kitty. "Yeah, everything is going to be just fine. Vegeta will fix this and then we'll be back home before you know it, and we can play and eat all the fruit you want." Hopefully it was going to be okay. If this was a new form for Viral then something might be wrong, and he may need to be locked up or bound for everyone's safety. No one wanted to see him caged, but if he went nuts then that was a possibility.

Yumi hadn't shirked back after being struck, the dark was doing that to her. Being hit was nothing compared to the pitch black that surrounded them, and her heightened senses did nothing to alleviate it. She wanted to be close to Viral if nothing else for her own sanity, but he seemed intent on keeping away. Perhaps if she did something to keep him around then he'd stay, so she tried scratching his ear. For a moment he was quite content, even going as far to place one of his hands on hers and holding it there. Then yet again he moved away, seeming startled as he backed off. She couldn't see him at all but heard him well enough, and was able to keep an eye on him that way. Frowning she rose to her feet, standing where she was for a moment while listening for any signs of danger. He wasn't really growling angrily, it sounded more confused if she had to put a name to it. Slowly she approached Viral, reaching out blindly until her hand found his arm. With a meek smile Yumi moved closer, opting now instead to try the same thing she had before. Wrapping her arms around Viral's torso she rested her head upon his chest, relaxing herself now that she was in contact with someone. Another purr escaped from her throat but she didn't care as much, just glad not to be as frightened. "It's okay Viral, I'm not going to hurt you, I'm your friend."
Takeshi wasn't sure what to make of all the noises they were hearing. At first they had sounded pretty angry, coming from Viral at least. Yumi made a few of her own however and by the sounds of it things simmered down a little. This was really weird, hearing them both purring and meowing like cats. It was funny too, seeing as Yumi was in her right state of mind. So she was playing with the Beastman right now, which in a way was good, it kept him under control. Goodness knows she was going to get an awful lot of flak later on for this. Giving Shu a curious look when he spoke up he nodded his head in agreement, "Yeah... Probably best we find out what's going on. And Vegeta can fix it I bet." Either that or maybe it would just wear itself out. Viral never stayed changed for long, and at least right now Yumi had him occupied. It was probably safe to leave them alone for the time being, and it wasn't as if they had all that far to go anyways. Keeping a hold of Shu's hand Takeshi led him out of the room, ridding himself of the Ki as they left, making the room utterly pitch dark. He could have sworn he heard a frightened squeak from Yumi when they left her alone, but she'd have to tough it out for now. "There's a ramp further on that can take us up if you want to skip the elevator, should we take that?"

Yumi scrunched up her shoulders when the little light in the room had abandoned her. Having Viral at her side wasn't as comforting as she would have liked, and there was a slight tremble in her moves now too. In part out of reflex and again for comfort she pressed against her friend's side, emitting a random purring sound as she did so. She also found herself laying her head on his shoulder, another action she wasn't entirely sure of why she was doing it. It did feel a bit nicer in doing so however, and to her surprise Viral began to return the affections. At this point her heart was beating madly and her face felt like it was on fire, she could scarcely believe what they were doing. Sure, Viral wasn't in the right state of mind, but for all intents and purposes they were snuggling right now. She hadn't even done this with Choi yet, and he was supposed to be her boyfriend. Then as abruptly as the affections had began her friend hastily pulled away again, leaving a rather meek Yumi sitting there in the dark fairly concerned.

As Viral began to start groaning suddenly she frowned, not knowing what was going on. Even having been in the dark for some time now her eyes wouldn't adjust, she hadn't inherited feline sight apparently. But her ears picked up every little noise, and the groaning had her concerned. Then there was the curious sound of some material being ripped up, and she wondered if Viral was ridding himself of his clothing. Oh no... Please don't let that be the case, this whole situation was awkward enough as it was already. After the tearing noise ended there was a pause, making her awfully worried that something might have happened. Moving closer towards her friend Yumi gasped when she was abruptly hit, freezing where she was and blinking in confusion. It hadn't been a strong swipe at all, and had been awfully fluffy, but it took her by surprise. Why the heck was Viral doing that all of a sudden? Gods, this was so weird! Looking at where she thought Viral would be she hesitantly reached out, blindly feeling around for him in the dark. When she found him she tentatively moved her fingers up to one of his new feline ears, her eyes widening in surprise. Holy cow, so he was changing, and becoming more of a cat by the minute. Smiling meekly she began to scratch behind said ear, hoping to placate him until someone came to help.
It actually was working, holy crap. Yumi couldn't believe her hair-brained idea to act like a cat was actually getting through to Viral. He still seemed wary of her, but at least he wasn't trying to attack her any longer. It was up there with the most humiliating things she had ever done in her life, yet if it worked she'd keep it up. Watching Viral carefully as he pace around her she held perfectly still, feeling quite embarrassed at being scrutinized like that. She really hoped he wasn't going to remember any of this, how absurd she must look right now. When he stopped moving she figured she'd try to make a move, smiling innocently as she attempted to get closer. However he then jumped away, leaving her sitting there awfully confused. Ah, so he went back to his food. Well, strange as this all was she supposed it was a good thing he was eating. Judging by how much he had with him too it should make a decent meal, hopefully enough to get rid of his hunger pangs. That was one problem solved, now they just had to figure out how to keep him from going primal. Glancing over her shoulder at Shu and Takeshi she sighed, almost wanting to just ask them to help restrain the Beastman and save what little shreds of her dignity were left. They didn't seem to be able to see her though, meaning she wasn't going to be found out, hopefully.

Right, back to whatever the hell it was she was doing. Sighing softly Yumi followed after where Viral had gone, her face heating up again as she crawled towards him. She was a full grown woman damn it, what was she doing this for anyways? The implications of something like this served to make her even further embarrassed, making her want to back out now just because it was so weird. Once she had reached Viral however she remained as she was, smiling bashfully. He seemed plenty content in his meal, so that was good. Now... What the heck did cats do to greet one another? Oh... That... She was already committed to it, and now that she'd established herself backing out now might cause more problems than it would fix. Moving up alongside Viral then she inhaled deeply, feeling awfully awkward right now. Leaning up against him then she rubbed herself against her side, tilting her head to rest it on his shoulder. Oh thank gods the lights were out right now, otherwise she'd have a stroke from embarrassment. Not even trying to do it herself a soft, happy purr escaped from her throat, making her eyes widen in surprise. Oh crap, she was actually enjoying this?
This was a very delicate situation, Viral could very well attack them if they weren't careful. Knowing how guilty he'd feel later Yumi took it upon herself to help him, figuring she had the best chance to being useful. She'd brought him down from one of these manic highs before, she could do it again. Only this time hugging him probably wasn't going to work out too well, she probably couldn't even get close enough. She needed a means to appease Viral and have him relax, and she figured she knew the way. It was utterly humiliating, but what do felines typically enjoy? Well, yarn and fish, but she couldn't physically be either of those. Other felines however, she might just be able to pull that one off. She wasn't sure if it would even work, but it was the first thing that came to mind. Maybe if he could relate with her he'd not be so aggressive, letting her get near enough to try and soothe him. Crouched down on all fours she emitted a soft growl, sounding fairly feline to her surprise. It came with her new changes, she supposed. Normally a burden she was finding it quite useful now however as Viral seemed to calm down a bit.

Or maybe not calm down, but it did something. She couldn't see him still, but she heard him move and then the thump, cocking her head to the side in confusion. She wasn't quite certain what that had been, but she figured it was progress. Viral had moved closer to her at this point, away from his food, so at least he wasn't being so possessive. Still he sounded uneasy, giving her a warning noise in the form of hisses and growls. Oh this was just weird, but now she was moving herself closer slowly, keeping herself low to try and seem submissive. She'd seen cats do this before, amongst other things... Other things she really hoped weren't going to come of this. All she had to do was play nice and make Viral warm up to her, then they could help him. When she got a little closer Yumi stopped where she was, crouched near low enough to be against the floor. Her face was a bright red at this point and she felt utterly ridiculous, but it looked to be working. Letting out another soft growl followed by a purr she lifted her head a bit, smiling at Viral in hopes he'd take the bait and come over.
Yumi was definitely putting herself at risk and she knew it. Sure, it smelled like Viral, but that didn't guarantee it was him. Albeit he did have a pretty distinctive odor, so if something else smelled similar then it would be one heck of a surprise. Leaving Shu in his brother's care she carefully crept into the darkness, biting back her fear as she squatted down and held open her arms, wanting to seem as friendly as possible. There was a low growl that emanated from the dark, more or less directly ahead of her. Tuning her own sensitive ears and nose on the sound she was able to hear Viral approach even if she couldn't see him. A little stunned she had been turned on Yumi vanished from her spot, moving as quickly as she could to avoid being struck. If any of them got hurt it would only make him feel worse later, they had to be careful. Reappearing a few meters away she honed back in on Viral, able to "see" him through his scent and the movement of his sounds. He began to back off, heading towards where the food was if she was correct. He'd changed again, no question about it. The very faint glimpse she had gotten of him made her rather curious, she'd never seen this side of him before. Yumi figured he only had that one other version, and yet here was another that looked... Decidedly feline. Hm...

Takeshi could just see Yumi from where they were, watching tensely as she tempted the beast. Viral, she did say Viral right? So it was him, but then that still didn't make a ton of sense. The guy would hardly touch his food at dinner, so why was he lurking about in the dark now eating leftovers? The Saiyan noticed the attack a moment after Yumi had, taking a quick step forward to help as he expected to be injured, only to dash away at the last second. Biting back a shout he looked around, trying to find their friend once again. When she reappeared he slowly moved towards her, keeping Shu more or less attached to his side as he moved. "Yumi...? That's Viral, isn't it...?" he asked in a hushed tone, looking too towards the sound of scraping claws. Frowning a little bit he stopped when Yumi put up her hand, looking at her puzzled. "What... What is it...?"

"Shhhh! You'll scare him!" Yumi whispered, putting a finger to her lips. If Viral was feral right now then they had to treat him almost like a wild animal. Last time he changed he'd lost sense of reason, and it was a safe assumption he had again this time. If they could appeal to his sensible side then he'd turn back, it had been done before. She had done it in fact, and so she intended on doing it again, without the help of the boys. But how was she going to get anywhere near close enough to do something? An idea occurred to her, one that made her face heat up a bit in embarrassment. Viral was more like a feline now, and she was partly feline too. Well... Felines liked other felines... Right? Biting her lip uncertainly Yumi got down on all fours, scarcely believing what she was trying to do. Keeping herself well aware of where Viral was she slowly moved forward, letting out a soft growling noise to try and show she was friendly. It was surprisingly easy to make animal like noises, which kind of worried her. Hopefully it would be handy now though.
"We've got no idea Shu, that's what we're going to find out." Something had to be just beyond this door, the only question was what. Between the three of them Takeshi wasn't all that worried, whatever this thing was they could take it. They should just probably be ready for a nice surprise. Putting in the combination to unlock the room he stood at Yumi's side, disappointed to see the room was utterly black inside, no power. Well that was lovely, it's not like they needed to see what they were chasing. To help the situation he ignited one of his hands with Ki, making a small makeshift lantern to use for help. It dawned on him how silly it was that he should be doing this then, the room was massive and his lantern gave perhaps three meters visibility. The only thing it might serve to do now was to attract whatever was in here, most likely to him. Lovely. The stench of food in here was much more powerful, it smelled cooked but a bit old, whatever it might be. There was a lot of it too, that might explain why so much had been dropped on the way here. It would be awfully nice to see just what was going on. "Just keep close guys, if it comes to us then it's best we stick together."

Rather quickly Yumi had lost her enthusiasm for this search of theirs. Going into an utterly dark room with some creature prowling about was not on her list of fun things to do, and she very nearly backed out. When Shu moved to her for comfort however she remained where she was, clinging onto him probably as tightly as he was her. She'd heard it too, the sound of claws scraping against the metal. Not a very exciting sign, but they were here and might as well see it through. "Don't worry Shu... You're with us... You'll be fine..." She tried to sound reassuring, but her own voice had a rather distinctive uneasiness to it because of the darkness. With Shu at her hip she moved closer to Takeshi, holding onto the back of his shirt and swallowing back her nerves. They couldn't see anything, but maybe she could smell it, wherever it was. Closing her eyes once again she sniffed at the air, scrunching up her nose. There was a fair bit of food down here, making it tricky to pick out the creature. After some more effort however she managed to locate it, nudging Takeshi in the direction it was. It seemed to be... Prowling, as it was moving around slowly in one spot. Was it watching them? Shivering in fright Yumi opened up her eyes, almost pressing against Takeshi's side as she clung Shu to her as well. "It's... Uh... O-over there..." she mumbled, nodding in the direction of the smell.

Great... Both Yumi and Shu were panicked, and now he was starting to feel it too. Mostly because they were worried, leaving him to think this might be a bit more serious than he'd thought. Smiling tightly Takeshi started to walk in the direction he'd been directed, practically dragging his brother and friend along with him. "What is it Yumi? Can you tell what it is?" Raising his hand a bit more he tried to focus the light ahead, only barely managing to extend the area it covered. Well this was just fine, they were walking into goodness knows what and it had them all worried, this was very comforting.

"No... It's strange... It smells like something, but I can't put my finger on it..." It was definitely familiar though, and yet mixed with another scent that threw her off. Wracking her brain for an explanation she finally managed to put two and two together. She almost couldn't believe it, but she placed the scent she was picking up. It didn't make a whole lot of sense though, where was the other part coming from? That was completely new, she'd never noticed that one before. Releasing both boys and leaving Shu with his brother she walked forward, just beyond the edge of the light. He was still just ahead of her, and while her eyes were poor in the dark she could swear she saw a silhouette of something. Smiling nervously she crouched down, sniffing at the air before holding her arms to her sides openly. "Viral...? Is that you...?"
Takeshi shot Shu a dirty look when he brought up bugs, sticking his tongue out before sulking again. So bugs were gross, it didn't mean he was afraid of them. Sheesh, they were treating it like he had a phobia or something. They weren't for eating, and they definitely weren't something one was supposed to have crawling around in their hair, that didn't make him afraid of them. Keeping quiet as the elevator descended he watched over Shu, glad to see he wasn't full on panicking for being inside here. He was still clung to Yumi like a fly to flypaper, but at least he wasn't freaking out or anything. When the lift stopped and the doors opened Yumi was the first out followed by a bounding Shu. So the food was out here too, and the trail looked bigger. Weird, so whatever was making it had started upstairs and come down here? Takeshi couldn't figure why anyone would bother leaving the food hall if they were hungry, it seemed silly to get food than just up and leave. Watching both Shu and Yumi inspect the trail he looked down the other end of the hall, frowning while trying to pick anything out. There wasn't any energy, and the feeling of uneasiness the creature's brought with them wasn't there either. So whoever or whatever was doing this either had no energy, or wasn't even organic. Hm... No energy...

"I don't know Shu, it might be and it might not be..." Yumi frowned as she began to follow the trail, fairly lost as to why it led to the training hall. Like Takeshi she couldn't quite understand someone's reason for leaving the dining area, and certainly less so than bringing it down here. Taking food to your room was one thing, but this just seemed silly and random. Could be a waste of time, but if nothing else at least this mystery of theirs had them doing something right now. "There's a lot down here, and adventure is probably one of them," Yumi commented, smiling back at Shu. Now, if only they could get more clues. Lifting her head a bit she closed her eyes, sniffing at the air as she walked to try and pick out anything irregular. The ship was pretty clean itself so there weren't very many odors to speak of. Shu and Takeshi were there, she could smell them, and she could even note the bits of food. Further down the corridor there was another faint smell, one that confused her quite a bit. It was familiar... And yet not at the same time. Opening her eyes Yumi furrowed her brow in confusion, picking up the pace a bit as she walked until she arrived at the end of the trail. Sure enough it led to the training room, and like the elevator the pad for this door was scratched up. Okay... So whatever they were following apparently knew how to use buttons. Maybe it was T'charrl, changing again?

"So whatever we're after is in there, huh...?" Unless it just passed through the room, seeing as there were doors on the other side as well. Hard to tell, there was still no energy to sense. Yumi looked like she had picked up on something, yet if she knew what it was she wasn't saying. While she stood at the doors Takeshi went over to the panel, running a finger along one of the deep grooves on the panel, wondering what could have made it. There were only two people in this entire ship who had claws, and one of them should be with Vegeta. But thinking that Viral had done this didn't seem right. For starters he didn't eat by himself, so why would he have food, much less go run off with it? And he couldn't imagine him pretty much attacking the panels to get them open, that seemed a bit silly. "Only one way to find out what's doing this..." Pressing the keys for the combination the doors slowly slid open, revealing on the other side a dark room. Ah great, so Vegeta had cut the power to the room as well. Exchanging a confused look with Yumi he walked just beyond the threshold of the door, looking around for any signs of... Well, anything. Lifting up a hand Takeshi then gathered Ki, making a sort of lantern as he began to shine it around the room, hoping to pick out whatever may be in here.
"I was just trying to figure out what it was. Not like I tasted it or anything..." Takeshi replied, pouting slightly. Curiosity killed the cat, or in this case led to picking up some pre-chewed food. Wiping his hand once more on his pant leg for good measure he followed alongside Yumi to the elevator, following the trail all the way. Chalk up the scratches on the door and they had a proper mystery on their hands. Neat, they never really had anything like this before, it was kind of fun. Not so much if one of those monsters turned out to be on board, but for now it was an interesting little caper. "The curious case of the missing food..." he mumbled, smiling amused. Now all they needed was a trench coat, a funny hat and a pipe and they'd be real detectives. Letting Yumi take the lead he stepped into the elevator after her, sliding to the side so Shu had room to get in. Knowing how his brother handled tight quarters Takeshi smiled sympathetically, not enjoying putting him in this position. Instantly when he came inside he latched onto Yumi for dear life, clearly not wanting to be in here. At least it was only going to be a brief trip.

Yumi looked down at Shu surprised when he latched onto her, smiling sympathetically. "It's okay, everyone has something they're afraid of." she assured, giving the little boy's hair a gentle rubbing. "Like your brother for instance, he's afraid of bugs, right Takeshi?"

"A-Am not!" Takeshi retorted, blushing before crossing his arms and sulking. "I just don't want one crawling on me..."

"Riiiight... Or anywhere near you for that matter." Laughing lightly Yumi looked over at the buttons, noticing the one covered in food as well. So whatever or whoever was wandering around went down then, at least they were on its trail. "I don't know if they could use it, I'd think their hands are too big..." Thinking about the creatures and their bulky hands there was no way they could have hit such a tiny button. Wrinkling her nose in disgust when she pressed the call button again she kept a secure arm around Shu, wanting to ease the kid's worries as much she could. The elevator began to descend, jutting a little initially and probably near throwing Shu into a panic attack. The rest of the way was smooth, and in no time the doors slid back open, revealing more of the food trail. Ushering Shu out of the cramped quarters Yumi looked down both ends of the hallway, finding the trail continued on to the right, towards the middle of the ship. Huh... Where was this thing going?
