There was some sad truth to that, unfortunately. The only way Viral would even have known he had birthday parties before was if they somehow restored his memory. Aito could probably figure out how to achieve that, he had a basic enough understanding of neurology. Between himself, Ikura and the other scientists it should be a small matter to achieve. There was the slight issue of being dead, that certainly complicated things a tad. "Here in spirit... Pardon the pun," Aito remarked, smiling slightly. "But it's not the same. Had I known you'd wanted one I would have thrown you a party that instant. I feel like our being here like this is very little condolence, and I'm sorry for that Viral." They couldn't do anything from where they were. Gifts, playing party games, even just hugging their 'son' was out of the question. The depressing nature of that thought made the Saiyan slouch slightly, rubbing at his face as if tired before sighing. "Someday... Perhaps..."

June, sensing the mood dipping a bit decided to try and pep things up a little. "You're right Viral, what matters is we're here now," she reaffirmed, smiling sweetly as she nodded her head. "And we wouldn't want to be anywhere else right now other than speaking to you." The conversation had reluctantly slipped out of her grasp as the finer details of Viral's being were brought into question. She had a gist of understanding in terms of how he worked, but all of that was solely what Aito had told her. She wasn't a scientist, much more of a fighter than anything. Maybe if she couldn't explain his inner workings however perhaps she could appease to Viral more as a fighter to fighter. Letting the men speak for a moment she looked at the Beastman kindly, clearing her throat to speak.

"Viral, the reason you were made that way was to fight. You were made to take on any kind of enemy," Vegeta interjected, cutting off his mother. "Since imbuing Ki wasn't a route they wanted to take they did what they could to make up for it, and by that they used multiple creatures." Smiling faintly he stepped into view of the screen, looking at his parents for a moment before to the Beastman. "You've got a total of four forms, three if you only count when you really change. There's that machine, Enki, that you can use. Then you have your aquatic form, your flight form, and your land form. We've seen the aquatic and land form so far, we haven't seen flight. My reason for bringing this up is you're maybe not the most powerful of us right now, but you're the most versatile. And each form gives you power to near match all of ours, or even beat it. So you are still a fighter, you just need to learn to use your forms at will. And if you can do that..."

"You'll be fighting with them in no time," June finished, smiling. "Viral, I can't tell you what your purpose was before, and I think you fulfilled it. But we can give you one now, Aito and I, and we know you'll be able to do it." Looking up at her husband cheerfully she hugged his arm, resting her head on Aito's shoulder as she pointed at Viral through the screen. "Train with Vegeta, learn your forms. That's an order from me and your father, understand? And then once you've mastered them help your brother fight and keep Earth safe. And... When you can," she paused, winking, "Wish us back, will you?"

"Er... June? I don't know if we should be wished back... It's been so long."

"So? I want to see my boys, and I'm bored here. If we can be brought back then let's be brought back!" June smiled cheerfully, looking at the screen at Viral. Letting go of Aito she walked closer, leaning over and putting her hands on her hips so she appeared face level with the Beastman. "And once we do come back I want to see what you can do. I used to be a fighter myself, you know. It's time you get a real opponent," she teased, winking again. "How's that for orders?"
This was set to be a far more pleasant meeting than their last. The context in which they were meeting was far more cheerful, and both June and Aito were in high spirits. The same, unfortunately, couldn't quite be said for Viral. While there was certainly an improvement he was still upset, that much was evident. They must have found Ikura to help, but it was going to take some time until he was truly better. "It does matter, and it should have mattered then, we're sorry Viral," June said earnestly, offering a sad smile. "We never thought to throw you one before because... Well I suppose we didn't think you'd want one. You were never big on celebrations, so we would just try to make up for it during the year. Now I really wish we had thrown you parties, maybe it would have helped some..." Ah, and they couldn't be there to celebrate his first. Then again, they sort of were now, weren't they?

"We would have wished you a happy birthday, had we thought you'd wanted it," Aito admitted, looking at Viral apologetically. "You never seemed very enthusiastic during Vegeta or Yumi's, so we thought they weren't for you. We tended to do something special when it did come around, but no real party." He wasn't going to bring up the fact they had technically missed the Beastman's birthday by almost two weeks, he didn't want to be the killjoy on this one. Smiling kindly he looked at Viral carefully for a moment, nodding his head. "I guess I kind of didn't help very much last time, did I?" Chuckling as he rubbed at his head Aito looked at June for a moment before the Beastman again. "As far as plans went, we hoped you would help raise Vegeta and Yumi, which you did. You did that amazingly from what I've seen, and you taught them to fight as well. Frankly I couldn't be happier with how you turned out Viral. As for the future..."

What could he say that would make Viral happy? Sure, Aito had things in mind, but he didn't want to dictate the Beastman's life. He'd done that for years already, there was no reason to do it any longer. If a small push in the right direction would help however then he could at least offer that. "Advice for the future... You always loved training them, and watching over them. You were every bit as diligent as we could have hoped, and you were excellent and what you did. So I suppose my advice would be why not do that?" Safest bet was to stick to something you knew, and Viral knew how to instruct young warriors. Had Aito any idea that Ikura had suggested the very same thing he would push for that much more, but since not he was a little hesitant. "If you desire to do that, of course. It's a lot of responsibility, training people. Above all else Viral, whatever anyone tells you to do you should only do what makes you happy. Not in a selfish sense, but put yourself before anyone else. You deserve to be happy like everyone else does, and you shouldn't put aside your own wants and needs for others."
Okies :D Looking forward to it!
Viral's gift was one that, with any luck, he would rather enjoy. Goodness knows it had been difficult to set up in only a day's notice, a helping hand from Dende had assisted him in that regard. Now though it fell to T'charrl to see to the rest, Vegeta's involvement being rather minimal at this point. Once inside Viral's bedroom he closed the door to allow some privacy, checking first and foremost if the Kaesstrian needed energy. "Afterwards...? Alright, I'll be right here when you need it then," he said, nodding for T'charrl to begin. This whole process was utterly alien even as he watched it. Being of scientific mind he couldn't understand how such a thing were possible, thinking it went well beyond the powers of Ki, or whatever energy their friend possessed. Yet sure enough T'charrl had done it, and after the flames reached the ceiling they spread out, creating a moderately large screen of sorts. For a moment it was a hazy white, though gradually a picture began to bleed through. At last when it did they were greeted by the sight of a smiling King Kai. "Great, you're here already, did you get them?"

When was that boy supposed to be calling? Sheesh, he had been asked to hang around today in order to accept a call and so far there hadn't been anything. What time was it on Earth anyways? Roughly 6 in the evening where they were, how much longer was he intending to wait? Tapping his foot impatiently he watched as a few new students sparred on his lawn, a little bored with them. They were so serious and didn't like his jokes, but he'd agreed to train them because, well, more or less everyone there was above his helping. Feeling his antennae twitch at the sensation of an incoming energy he smiled, turning in the direction of it. A small flicker of flame sparked before him, a familiar sign of what was coming. Standing carefully so he'd be in view he waited until a small portal appeared and an image was displayed, seeing Viral along with T'charrl and Vegeta. Waving to the trio he chuckled happily, nodding his head. "Of course I did, I'll go get them now! Just wait right here!" With a spin he ran off screen, running into his home to fetch a few people. When he returned a moment later he looked at Viral knowingly, stepping to the side and waving someone on off screen. "Here's Vegeta's present to you Viral! We hope you like it!"

Aito was the first one to step into view, smiling rather happily as he looked at Viral on the other side. "There he is... Our birthday man..." he said, chuckling as he placed his hands on his hips. "Wow... 25 years old... Now I feel like an old man!" They were actually really close in age now, which was odd considering he was basically the Beastman's father. Shaking his head in disbelief he placed a hand on his wife's back as she joined him, looking at Viral kindly.

"I'm so glad you made it home, Viral. I hope you're having a good day," June added, giving him a doting look as she folded her hands behind her back. "You seem to be doing better, that's good. And you too Vegeta." Laughing lightheartedly she stepped a bit closer to the portal, pausing for a moment as she placed her fingers on it to see what would happen. It was kind of like touching glass, it was cool and solid, shame. Her smile saddened slightly as she drew her hand back, giving a small wave. "Your father and I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday, we're sorry we never did it before darling."
Takeshi couldn't exactly tell Shu how to act either, he didn't really know how old the little guy was himself. He was definitely acting younger than he was, no doubt about that, but that was because he was so naive about things. Once he learned more maybe he'd calm down a bit. Or... Maybe not. "Your clan did love you. I mean... They raised you didn't they? So they had to have loved you." Then again he'd been raised by Master Xing, and it was pretty evident he had only been a tool to that man. Okay, so maybe you could be raised by someone who actually didn't care for you, albeit it was hard to believe anyone, save their father, could willingly hate the young Saiyan. Returning his gaze back unto Viral Takeshi listened carefully to what had to be said, rather keen on getting his training secured. "I'll take extra care of it, I promise Viral, you've got my word," he said, nodding with a smile. "And we can start whenever you're ready to teach me... Of course, the sooner the better, but whenever you're ready to begin is good too!" Well that had been relatively easy, he was still surprised the Beastman had agreed to willingly. Just as they had reached their agreement Vegeta had come over to take their friend away, for something private apparently. Eh, it was none of their business.

"No one is going to touch your gifts," Vegeta reassured, looking at Shu and Takeshi as he spoke, "These two are on guard duty until we get back, got it? Unless Yumi wants to touch no one else comes near them. I doubt anyone would take anything, but if Viral wants them kept safe then we'll give him that." Security detail aside they needed to get somewhere private to do this, and what better place than his room. For this gift T'charrl would be needed, and once the Kaesstrian joined them Vegeta led the pair out, down the hall and towards the back of the building. Since their extraterrestrial friend was a tad big they had to take the stairs instead of the elevator, and on the second floor his bedroom was towards the rear of the compound. Once to the room Vegeta ushered the pair inside, shutting the door and smiling knowingly at Viral. "My gift may take a while to give, but I'm hoping it'll be worth it. I brought T'charrl along because we need his help for this." he explained, looking to the alien in question. "Need my energy to do this?"
Isn't he though? :P But that's all part of his little cover while in school... Kind of xD

And okies, no problem! :D Do what you need to.
"Well that makes two of us, I've never been to one either." Tora retorted, smiling amused as he placed his hands into his pockets. "For someone who thinks we're not friends though it's weird you offer for me to come over like this. I think we are friends and you just don't want to admit it." Goodness knows his job would be infinitely easier if he could just behave himself and not cause trouble. He had a persona to maintain however, and even though he himself found it bothersome he couldn't break it, not yet. Jocelyn would probably think him schizophrenic or something if he acted himself, which would have some rather nasty repercussions. Chuckling Tora shook his head before cocking it to the side, scrutinizing Jocelyn with a mocking smile. "Torture legal? This state is all weird then. Hm... I can see why some of the people in school are weird then. Probably sadists who get off on that crap." Not expecting the princess to really bite back he was a little surprised when she whirled around and snapped at him, blinking as his smile waned slightly. "If I wanted to deal with it I'd have just gone home, don't you think? I'll have to refuse that offer."

Talk of virgins and kinky sex nearly made Tora burst out laughing. It was amusing hearing the princess of a kingdom speaking like this, it was so unroyal-like of her. Not that she knew what she was, which made it all the more sweeter. One off comment later and Jocelyn had begun to back off, in a manner that actually took him aback for a moment. His smile vanished entirely as he looked at her confused, wondering why she was acting like that. Marking it off as a spur of the moment thing he smiled again, this time a bit more politely as he waved a hand dismissively. "Sheesh, relax will you? You're acting like I'm about to jump you or something," he teased, rolling his eyes. "Jocelyn, if I wanted to do something like that would I really have come to your house to try it? Hellooooo?" Hmph, and he'd thought she was smarter than that. Ah well, at least she was pretty to look at if nothing else. Smirking he stepped back a ways, not taking his eyes off the princess. The sound of Alicia's voice carrying through the house signaled it was supper time, a note that Jocelyn was all too happy to take. "Aw, no pictures?" he asked, grinning as he followed out of the room, "What a bummer."

Yet another uneventful evening had passed, to which Tora wasn't sure if he should lament or be glad. Sure, it meant that Jocelyn was safe, but it also meant he had nothing to do. It had been nearly five months since he'd done any fighting, and it was nigh impossible to train anywhere around here. He did what he could within his meager residence, but that wasn't a whole lot really. Before he or Jocelyn had probably realized it Friday had rolled around, as did the school dance. As if he wasn't clueless enough to the workings of this place a school dance had totally thrown him through a loop. Evidently, overhearing some other students, you were supposed to find a date for the dance. Hm, well there wasn't anyone in particular he could think of, save Jocelyn. She was going with that Tony guy, so that was out of the question. Since you could get in on your own Tora finally decided to do just that, not wanting to waste any time trying to look for a lone girl. For the occasion he had gone out to find something nicer to wear, and had settled on a white, button down long sleeve shirt, black slacks and a black tie. He wore his sneakers which kind of ruined the otherwise preened look, but it was nicer than the other things he wore. A little confused he might be overdressed he was pleased to find other kids had put on nicer clothes as well.

So this was what a school dance was like... Tora couldn't say he'd see himself doing this willingly. Were it not for the fact Jocelyn was in attendance he would have stayed home, or more likely than note staked out her house as he had been. Where the princess went however he would inevitably follow, it was his duty. They weren't on his person, but his sword and other clothing were hidden away, easily accessible should he need them tonight. With so many people around however it seemed unlikely that anything would happen. Even the enemy kingdom refrained from causing havoc in this world, usually. So long as both sides didn't interfere with life here too drastically they could come and go as they pleased, and many often did. Frankly Tora couldn't figure out why, this world had been so boring lately. Well, at least he could probably get a glimpse of Jocelyn in something nice tonight. If it was half as revealing as what some of the girls were wearing tonight he'd be having nice dreams.
Takeshi didn't exactly know how old he was, not to the day anyways. He had figured out his age at one point, and from counting thereon he knew he was seventeen now. Shu was... Eh, maybe fifteen? He didn't seem that much younger, though it was hard to tell what with him being so naive about things. Huffing indignantly at being questioned his cheeks reddened faintly as he crossed his arms. "I know how old I am... Sort of. I'm seventeen, pretty sure that's right. So you're probably... fourteen or fifteen... Maybe." Egh, really the only way either of them would find out is if they asked their mother, or father. Even if the former was long gone that was still easier than the alternative. Unlike Viral who had plenty of people who knew him both he and Shu were pretty much non-existent until just a year ago, so they had no one to ask. Smiling slightly amused he let his hands drop back at his sides, hefting his shoulders in a slight shrug. "You can't really just choose your age, it doesn't work like that. You're an actual age and all, and you can act a certain age, so I guess that's different." Pausing he smirked, looking at Shu teasingly. "You act like you're six, little baby Shu. Bet that was adorable."

Waiting patiently for their turn Takeshi was prompted to bring up his and Shu's gift to Viral, doing so a bit sheepishly. This whole being generous thing, it was nice, but it felt weird. Eh, if Viral was happy with it at least then it was worthwhile he supposed. "Well Shu was with me in spirit while I picked it out, we'll put it that way," he answered, a bit taken aback that he was joking around with the Beastman. He never did that, ever, and the guy even smiled. It didn't last terribly long however as the Saiyan asked his question, almost figuring he was going to get shot down. Still a light red from just asking his flush deepened slightly at the jest, sighing and shaking his head. "I'm no good at it... I... Need help..." he replied, lowering his voice a little. Looking at Viral hopefully as he agreed Takeshi nodded his head, a smile spreading across his face. "Of course! I've been taking good care of it, honest. I polished the metal and it's sitting in a proper sheath now. I'll treat it like royalty if that's what I've got to do to learn how to use it!" Oh now this was exciting, he had been dying to get some training. The battle with those weird smoke creatures had been a reminder of how useless he was with that thing, and he really wanted to be able to carry it into combat.

"Your sword training can wait a bit, there's still more for Viral today." Vegeta interjected, waving Takeshi back. Looking at the now empty spot that had been the pile of gifts he smiled, glancing back to the Beastman. "Well... I suppose that's the bulk of the party. People will probably still hang around for a little while, if they want to," he added, speaking loudly enough for the guests before lowering his voice. "If you want your gift from me now then we need to go to your bedroom, or somewhere private. It's personal, and I'd rather give it to you without a crowd." This also meant T'charrl was needed, to which end Vegeta looked up and motioned for the Kaesstrian to come over with them. "Want to go now, or feel like talking with some more people? Your call Viral."
"It's like frowning, but it's sadder. Eh... Just please don't do it." There was always going to be that innate soft spot for Shu that was going to make Takeshi give into his brother. It was nice giving him what he wanted, but it became all the more important when the little guy was upset. Really it was just easier to give him what he wanted rather than have to deal with him being upset. Smirking as his hand was swatted away Takeshi turned his focus back onto Viral, watching as he and Yumi talked over his clothes. From here he couldn't really hear what they were discussing exactly or see what was in there, but Yumi was awfully happy about it. Shu's party wouldn't be quite this good, he mused, but they'd make it work. Though if Vegeta was going to be in attendance maybe they could borrow a little money, or a lot. "Yumi probably does know something, you can ask her. She can probably even show you how to make one." Girls liked baking after all, right? Scratching at his nose he gave a passive 'Huh', looking up at the ceiling thoughtfully. "I... Don't know when my birthday is. Never celebrated it before."

Ikura smiled warmly as Yumi moved on, taking his turn to present a gift. It wasn't perhaps as sentimental or precious as a recreation of an old outfit, but handy nonetheless. Handing over his own gift the doctor watched as the Beastman looked through the contents, taking a turn as well to give him a hug. Pulling away with a chuckle he folded his hands behind his back, giving a shake of his head. "It'll be positive, knowing you. I can already say I can see improvements, and it'll only continue from here. You will get better, I know it." How much of a hand he'd actually have in that he couldn't say, it could be significant or minor. So long as Viral was happy again he didn't mind being only a small part of that happiness, all that mattered was he got there. Nodding his head Ikura smiled again, "It was my pleasure, Viral. And I suppose it's a good thing I thought of that, hm?" Well, admittedly he'd gotten the idea from Vegeta who was looking after the weapon, he had something else in mind for a gift. Seeing the use out of this however he was plenty pleased with the decision, he knew a good weapon could well save Viral's life someday.

Now that Yumi and Ikura had given their gifts over, and Vegeta wasn't ready for his, it fell to Takeshi and Shu. Or mostly the former, Shu hadn't known about all of this until the last minute, probably wouldn't have known what to get anyways. Takeshi was scarcely confident in his own selection, it being kind of a whim purchase and shot in the dark as far as presents went. Getting up from his chair he grinned nervously, going to the pile and grabbing up his crudely wrapped gift. Handing it over he rubbed at his neck, looking away embarrassed. "So uh... There's what Shu and I got you. Hope you like it." To him it was a pretty light package, but inside were a set of training weights, moderately hefty at that. Roshi had happened to have them at his home and after some polishing up they looked like new. Used, but in good condition, hopefully Viral didn't mind. They could help him train after all, he liked to do that right? "Also... I do kind of have a request for you. I know it's your birthday and all, but I just figured I'd ask again... Uh..." Takeshi paused, looking back at Viral again with a light blush. "Teach me how to use my sword? Please...?"
The cake had been okay, though Takeshi barely finished his single piece. Shu was munching away at his second once presents were announced, the little guy could probably eat the entire thing if he was allowed to. Throwing out the disposable plate and utensils he'd used the Saiyan turned to watch Viral open his gifts, smiling faintly as he watched on. The Beastman seemed to be enjoying himself, or at the very least not hating the party. Good, maybe he'd be happy later on, which considering his gift and request Takeshi sure hoped the guy would be. "We'll get you cake another time, okay?" he replied, not looking at Shu initially. When he glanced over and saw the pout he groaned inwardly, placing a hand on his face and sighing. "Don't pout like that... Sheesh, how am i supposed to say no to my little brother like that?" Chuckling Takeshi nodded his head, reaching over and ruffling his sibling's hair. "I'll get one made for your birthday, when we get back again. I'll get you whatever kind of cake you want." Their party would be much smaller, if it could be helped. Really it would be fine by him if it were just himself and Shu, though the latter probably wanted their friends in attendance as well. "No clue how to make one really. I'd just buy a cake," he added, shrugging his shoulders dismissively.

Yumi waited with baited breath after she handed her gift over, nervous that Viral may somehow dislike the gift. Giving him a hug she nodded as an urge for him to open up the box, smiling hopefully. When he finally did open them and he asked she was more than ready to explain, she was quite excited. "Well... I had no idea what to get you, so I figured some clothes. But you don't wear a lot, and I decided it would have to be something you'd use often. I saw a picture of us and that outfit and remembered how much you liked it, and how it was ruined. So... I shopped around a bit and managed to pick up pieces that are nearly identical to the original!" The first had been custom made, and these would have been too had they more than a day to plan in advance. Ah well, he liked them, so that was a plus! With a playful wink she folded her hands behind her back, shifting her weight on her feet idly. "You're very welcome Viral. I hope not, but we can always get them fixed if they do get ripped. I'm just glad you like them." Heh, and to think she had managed to slip all of those in the bags they had been lugging around yesterday. She'd bought a piece here and there to keep the Beastman from noticing, and apparently it had worked.

There were still a few presents left, and now Ikura was going to have his turn at it. Grabbing his own gift from the stack he stood before Viral, looking at the Beastman quite happily as he offered over the box. "It's rather simplistic, I'll admit, but I hope you can get some use out of it," he said kindly. Like Yumi he had to rush order this item, and there had just by chance been someone in the city who sold it. Inside the container Viral would find a small, coarse rock, oils and cloths and a voucher. "That's to repair and sharpen your cleaver with, if you ever need," the doctor explained, referring to the first few items. "The latter is for a blacksmith that can help refine your blade even further. Admittedly it's not the highest quality, I'm surprised it's lasted as long as it has. Bringing it to someone to get it tempered and refitted could do wonders for you." Now it was his turn to hug the Beastman, doing so casually and with no trepidation. Releasing Viral from his grip Ikura chuckled, ruffling his hair once more with a kind look. "I'm so proud of how you've turned out, Viral. You've exceeded both mine and Aito's dreams as a man, and I know you'll only go up from here."
