Recalling events from their shared past wasn't helping them very much either. T'charrl could remember what they had done, but not what he himself looked like. Yumi didn't figure he spent much time in front of a mirror but it was still odd for someone not to know their own appearance. "Just because that didn't work doesn't mean I'm giving up just yet," she said, smiling confidently, "There's always a solution, sometimes you just need to look a little deeper for it. We're going to find it no matter what, got that?" It couldn't take too long sadly, she was already committed to keeping an eye on Viral for the time being. Hopefully he was doing alright in the room on his own and not getting all agitated, it would be a really bad moment for him to burst out. Glancing at the closed door behind her for a second she turned to Takeshi, curious as to what he was going on about. Hearing the topic of T'charrl's parents come up Yumi smiled happily, glad to see the Kaesstrian was reminiscing about his parents. And he missed them too, that was so adorable of him. "I doubt she'll hit you when you come back. You'd be surprised, T'charrl, even the hardest of women have a soft side, and I bet the same goes for your mother," Yumi pointed out, laughing lightly, "You kind of look like your dad now, in a way. Well I guess just size really. Your fur is usually more like your mom's though, all light and soft. But you kind of had patterns like your dad... So a mix of both I guess. Even if we do get back there and you're not changed back, which I doubt, I'm sure they won't think any less of you. You're their son after all."

Ah jeez, now things were getting all sappy and sentimental. Takeshi didn't think he did really well with this sort of stuff despite getting emotional with Shu sometimes, it was kind of awkward. Letting Yumi go on he smiled and looked elsewhere distractedly, scratching at his head a bit. It must be nice though, having parents who would worry about you and welcome you home every time. Gods know he and Shu didn't have a clue what that might be like. Compared to what their father had done he still saw the Queen slapping T'charrl as a gesture of love, which he was sure wasn't too far off the mark. "It'll be cool when we get back too, you know? Think about how things might have changed since we left. Who knows, maybe people in the city and underground are all living together now, that would be neat." That was assuming of course the whole transition went smoothly. Just from experience alone with placing people under Saiyan rule he knew that people didn't always love a change of power. Even if the ruler was a nutcase like the General had been people still would raise a fuss. "And hey... If we do get back and you're still like this I bet your mother and father can help. Like Yumi said you normally look kind of like a mix between the two of them, you know? They probably even have pictures around the place, and if a photo of you won't do it then we're really in trouble."
It was a bit hard to really describe T'charrl on the spot like this. She hadn't given her friend much thought in terms of his appearance and a lot of the detail was hard to grasp at off the bat. Still Yumi did try, yet it sounded vague even with her best attempts. If she had a little more time to herself to mull it over she could probably get it a lot more detailed, maybe even draw something to help illustrate her point. All her attempts sounded to do thus far was remind T'charrl of his own people, fine if the problem was he didn't know where he had come from. Smiling apologetically she nodded her head, "Okay, I'll work on that then, no problem! There's got to be another way I can help though..." Hm, describing didn't really help at the moment, she would need time for that, and the same could be said for drawing. "I can picture you perfectly fine in my mind, that's the thing. I remember when we first met too, when Shu tripped over you in the forest. You were all covered in twigs and leaves and looked beat up, remember? We took you to see your mother, and she was happy... I think. Kind of hard to tell since she hit you when she saw you. But everyone there seemed nice... The Captain, your mother, the Doctor..." Yumi was rambling a little and realized that, laughing lightly as she folded her hands together again. "Sorry, I kind of got carried away there. I can see you in all those events, but it's a bit difficult to describe you right now. Do you think there's anything else I can do to help?"

Huh, that's right, Yumi had actually known T'charrl longer than he had. Yet Takeshi found himself around the guy more than she was, not that it was her fault, she had other people to be with. Come to think of it though he should really be better able to describe it himself, he'd known T'charrl for a fair while in his normal form too. "So she said you were smaller, thinner, had different fur and all that, right? Maybe there's something else we can add..." Eh... Like Yumi though he wasn't able to come up with any more descriptions no matter how much he wracked his brain for words. Yumi going on and rambling a bit about what they did together sidetracked him a little and got him thinking about what he'd been a part of himself, which honestly there weren't very many good ones that came to mind at first. "Or like when you, Shu and I went back to see your mother, you know? And that General, your dad I mean, he was there. And the lady hit me for saying something, I don't even remember what..." Takeshi mumbled, trailing off a bit at the end, "Why do all the women slap me...?"
Getting lost wasn't exactly what Yumi was getting at, but if Shu bought that then she wouldn't say otherwise. Whether the others bought her story or not she didn't particularly care, T'charrl was polite enough to not intrude and Takeshi was probably still edgy over getting a foot to the face as a greeting. Even with the younger boy buying her story he still tried to take a peek, making Yumi in turn lean over slightly to block his view. There really wasn't a discreet way of hiding Viral without completely ignoring him and leaving him be, but she couldn't do that. Hoping for a bit more of an explanation from someone she looked between the group, finally getting some semblance of what the request was from Takeshi. What an odd thing to come to her about, she wasn't so knowledgeable on transformations, that was more Vegeta's kind of thing. If it was just trying to remember what T'charrl had looked like before though then maybe she could help with that. "So you need to remember what you looked like... Okay, shouldn't be too hard," Yumi replied, smiling confidently and nodding her head, "I don't know how describing how you looked will help, but I'll do my best."

To be doubly sure that Viral wasn't going to be disturbed Yumi slowly closed the door, inwardly praying that the Beastman wouldn't do anything in this brief moment with the others. "Let's see, what you looked like before..." she began, folding her hands in front of her and stepping closer to T'charrl. "Well you were definitely smaller, but that's a given. And your fur was lighter. Almost like... Shu's hair light, but more brown than orange. What else..." Recalling something like that from so long ago was a little tricky, she had known T'charrl in his other forms longer than she did her original. Wanting to help still Yumi closed her eyes, tapping her foot as she furrowed her brow in thought. "You were thin, probably about as thin as we are. There were no spikes like there are now, and your eyes were smaller. Your antennae hung down over your face a bit, your arms weren't as long... Uh... And your wings tucked up all nice and neat on your back." Was there anything else she was missing then? She wracked her brain for more details but the rest was either probably too minor to mention or were superficial, being clothes or items he had with him at the time. Opening her eyes again she glanced up at T'charrl, smiling hopefully, "Did that help at all? Or even a bit? I can try thinking of some more if you need it."
It was probably just as well Takeshi got knocked out for the moment, his mouth was only getting him into deeper and deeper trouble with T'charrl. Not that Yumi knew what was being said, she'd just gotten defensive of Viral and reacted in a split second. She felt pretty bad seeing the boy sitting against the wall all slumped over even if she knew he was going to be fine, it would take more than a stray kick to do him in. Smiling nervously she turned to the others of the group, waving to them with a light laugh. She needed to keep them out here and away from Viral, goodness knows he didn't want any visitors at the moment. Watching Shu as he sprang over to Takeshi then came over to her she addressed him by reaching out and tapping his nose playfully, doing little to deter the string of words that spewed forth. In typical Shu fashion everything came out all at once, in jumbled words and so quick it was a bit tricky to follow. Had she not spent so much time around him before now she'd have been totally lost, but their time together made it a bit easier to decipher.

"So you're still trying to get back to normal then?" Yumi asked T'charrl, twitching when Shu then asked about Viral. Glancing at the open door briefly she smiled at the young Saiyan, shuffling over and closing it slightly, putting herself between it and the boys. "Viral is uh... With Vegeta right now, they're busy. I'm just doing some tidying up since he hasn't been in there in a while, that's all." Lying really wasn't her strong suit, hopefully even if they picked up on her fib they didn't press it. Shifting her weight a bit on her feet she then decided to try bringing the conversation back to their Kaesstrian friend, it was an important matter after all. "I would be happy to help you T'charrl, but um... Well how do I? I'm sorry but I'm not Vegeta, I don't know what's going on with you really. I'll do whatever I can to try of course but I can't promise what I'll do will make a difference." Yumi was open to lending a hand if it was needed, but what could they hope she could offer that the others couldn't? Maybe she was a bit more compassionate than Vegeta, or a bit more patient even, but those weren't going to solve T'charrl's problems. "Tell me what you need from me, and I'll tell you whether or not I can help you, sound fair?"

Jeez, what in the hell hit him? One minute he'd been standing there opening the door and now he was flat on his ass, his whole face feeling like it had been flattened. Groaning faintly Takeshi lifted a hand to rub at his face and winced when he touched it, opening his eyes and blinking blearily. Ah, there was Yumi, just the girl they'd been looking for. This was probably her doing considering her tendency to smack him, and he might snap at her for knocking him out if he wasn't unsure she would do it again. Instead he got to his feet, a hand nursing his cheek as he listened in to the tail end of the conversation. "Unh... He doesn't remember what he looked like, he needs to be reminded," Takeshi explained, gesturing to T'charrl with his thumb, "He was normal before and then changed again, and we think the trick is he's gotta know what he looked like. So all you need to do is explain that to him, you know? Plain and simple."
If Yumi and Vegeta split up their time while watching Viral then he could be constantly watched over. So long as someone was with him and could keep him out of trouble. "Whatever I have to do to help you Viral I will, you know that. I don't think I can leave you alone though, but I can try to be as least annoying as I can. And maybe I won't sleep in your room, that would be a bit weird. But... The room next to you is available, so I can always move to that room. My room is only down the hall now but being a bit closer might help some." It could be too that just having someone nearby would be something of a comfort to the Beastman. Knowing he could get help immediately instead of having to call for someone would be a big plus, and there was the small matter of having his medicine handy as well. "Okay, so no taking shifts watching you, that's out. But at the very least I'm going to ask Vegeta about getting your medicine for you. I'll keep an eye on you when you take it if that's what he needs to be alright with it, but I really think we've got to be a bit more willing to give you pills when you need them. Vegeta might know what you need to be cured but he doesn't know how to keep you happy until then." And really a happy or at least contented Viral was going to make everyone around him in a better mood as well. Trying to focus on his work couldn't be easy when Vegeta was constantly worrying about the Beastman's state of mind, and the others had to be worried a little too, so this would be doing everyone a favor.

Oops, he'd sort of spoken without thinking there, now T'charrl was getting upset. "Hehe... Uh... I mean you're not a big-bug thing right now..." Takeshi mumbled, realizing his mistake again as he shook his head, smiling nervously, "Uh, n-not that you were before either! You were just different, that's all, yeah!" He had one foot in a hole and was just going to keep digging that deeper and deeper if he kept this up. Sounding so self assured about being able to handle the General then wasn't making him look any better, especially not when T'charrl turned the question around on himself. Jeez how was he supposed to answer that? Fighting some crazy General was different than fighting a friend, no way could Takeshi do to T'charrl what he'd do to that guy. Even if the Kaesstrian went all buff and crazy they would be fighting to save him, not beat him. "Well... I mean if it came down to it I probably could. I'm strong when I'm not holding back, like on Kaesstra. Sure, they kind of roughed us up a bit but when I stopped holding back I beat them." Or killed them, to be more exact. Not exactly something to be bragging about, certainly not with Shu being so sensitive about such a thing. This whole conversation was just becoming so painfully awkward that Takeshi felt like pulling a turtle and hiding inside himself to avoid any further discomfort. "Hey, look at that, we're at Viral's room!" he suddenly announced, beaming happily at his saving grace. Stopping promptly at the door he immediately opened it up, sort of assuming that it was going to be empty. Instead was given a rather nice greeting by Yumi in the form of a flying foot to his face, sending him careening against the far wall where he smacked against it and slowly slid down in a comical fashion, smiling in a daze.

Yumi wasn't even aware someone was outside until the door had begun to slide open. She probably would have smelled whoever it was or at the very least heard them coming in. But when that door opened up she was quick to act, for whatever reason being a bit hostile and taking to the offensive. It was about midway in her kick that she saw a completely oblivious Takeshi standing at the door but there was little she could do to help herself from following through with her attack. Watching in silent shock as he was sent flying she landed lithely on her feet, cringing when he hit the wall. "Oops... Uh... Sorry about that Takeshi..." she mumbled, laughing sheepishly as she held up her hands. Out of the corner of her eye she realized too there were others here as well, namely Shu, T'charrl and that kid Haku they had picked up earlier. Blinking a few times she broke into a grin, her face reddening as she gave the trio a wave. "Oh, hi boys! Nice to see you all! Uh... Don't worry, I'm not kicking people as a new greeting or anything." Now this was a slight problem. She didn't mind seeing them but now was really not an opportune time for all of this. Viral was potentially at risk of lashing out again and now even more people were around, great. "What can I do for you? Need something?"
"I guess worrying over shoes is the same thing as worrying about looks, just really specific... Oh but that's not the point!" Yumi said, her ears stretching as she balled her hands up at her sides, "What I'm trying to say is your worrying about how you look isn't some superficial, empty thing like that, you've got legitimate reasons and shouldn't feel bad for worrying." There was a huge difference between worrying about what clothes you were going to wear and what form your body might take on any particular day. Again her attempts to reassure Viral only ended up being turned into an abysmal take on his situation, not that she could find it in herself to blame him for that. "I know it's hard... But remember you're not alone, I'm here to help you, and so are the others. Plus I know you might not like the way he does things but Vegeta is too, and he's working on a solution. From here on out how about I stay with you from now on, hm? Vegeta can focus on working and I'll keep you company, and help when you need it. You know I won't be as overbearing as he is." She liked to think that was just his way of showing he cared and worried, which was all fine and good if it was helping Viral. He wanted to take things slow, unfortunately this wasn't about what he wanted, not anymore, and Yumi was done waiting on him completely. Time for her to take some more proactive steps herself towards getting the Beastman better.

Eh... T'charrl was right there, though Takeshi wasn't proud to admit it. He did think T'charrl looked odd but that probably was due to his whole aversion to bugs. Asking him about appearances was a little silly then because obviously there would be a bit of bias. "Well I'm similar to a ton of people here because most of us are Saiyans, I would hope I look like most of them," he remarked, smirking as he scratched his cheek, "As long as you don't go all giant bug-thing any time soon I can pretty much guarantee there won't be any fear. The bigger you get the more, uh... Well the more imposing, I guess?" He couldn't outright say he was afraid even if everyone knew it, he just didn't do that. Besides he was bound to get over it eventually, maybe, probably. He'd gotten over his fear of the dark as a kid so this was just another thing for him to grow out of, right? Takeshi couldn't really explain what Haku had done for T'charrl since he'd sort of missed it, but the Kaesstrian himself was thanking the kid so obviously he'd done something. When you came down to it aside from being a bit of an idiot, and letting his mouth run, and being all around abrasive Haku really wasn't that bad. Pain in the ass sure, but not bad. "Honestly... If the General ended up with that power and we were recovered we'd probably beat the guy," Takeshi mused, shrugging to himself, "I mean... I know we're not supposed to do it and all, but I'd kill the guy if he ended up taking you out. That's not something I let go."
Yumi was confident that, one way or another she was going to get Vegeta to agree with her. If a simple request didn't cut it then she would just hound him until he gave in, that was bound to work. The more bothersome she could be about it too the quicker Vegeta would give in knowing him, he'd just want her to stop and would give in. A bit predictable in that regard, it always worked. "Yeah... He kind of thinks into things a bit much, doesn't he? He can't just look at it for what it is, he's got to over analyze everything, like how to make a sandwich." He'd done it before too, she'd seen it! Over time their friend had gotten better but she could swear he was OCD sometimes. Taking a seat at Viral's side she reached over and placed a hand on his shoulder in a sympathetic gesture, "It's your life for now, but it won't be forever. This is the storm and there's always a calm after the storm, right?" Yumi said, smiling kindly, "And nothing is pathetic about it, both of those are legitimate things to worry over. It's not like you're some girly girl worrying over how her shoes look or something, you've got actual things troubling you." These things, these problems Viral was having too could well all go away if he was given his medicine, that was a real possibility. And any chance of alleviating Viral's woes she was going to jump at.

"Eh... Even if there's a lot like us I still don't see why you're more an alien than we are," Takeshi repeated, giving a shrug of his shoulders, "Everyone is an alien to everyone else if you want to think about it that way, you know? But there's nothing wrong with being an alien. There's only something wrong if you let be something wrong." Sure, it could be annoying sometimes when everyone knew what you were. It was in part the reason he had always loathed being in the city when he was younger, it was the attention he got just because of what he was, it was so annoying. Now he could ignore it with the help of Shu and his friends so it wasn't as big a deal, though he might snap at someone if they started asking him questions. Yeah, so maybe his people skills were still a bit rusty, but hey everyone had something to improve. "Hey, Shu and Haku are helping too, thank them too. I hate to say it but I didn't get you to calm down earlier, apparently that was Haku, yeah? Everyone's doing their bit to help you, because it's what friends do and all that. So you don't gotta thank us," Takeshi explained with a smile, rubbing at his nose sheepishly, "But you're welcome all the same buddy."
"Hey now... Don't get too down, alright? We're just worried, we're not thinking this about you to be mean. I'm more than willing to give you a chance, and I'll convince Vegeta to do the same, then the pain won't be so bad, right?" How much did Viral typically take in order to feel better, just the one pill? So maybe if he took that, plus a single painkiller then he would be okay for the majority of the day. Surely Vegeta wouldn't have any problem with that regiment now would he? If they threw in other things too such as exercise or whatever to keep the Beastman busy than his overall mood was bound to improve. Maybe Yumi was being a bit overly optimistic and simplifying the problem here, but if there was a chance of lessening her friend's pain she would go for it. Giving him a funny look at the sledgehammer question she shook her head, smiling slightly as she moved over to him and took a seat at Viral's side. "I'll see about getting you the medicine as soon as Vegeta is up, I promise. I'm sure he'll come here to see you once he's awake either way so we can ask him then, right?" She would pester Vegeta until he agreed, or at the very least considered it. And if worst case scenario he refused them even then, well, she could always sneak the medicine to her friend.

Yumi was the only other person that could help T'charrl now, hopefully she wasn't busy. "Hey, she's never exactly turned Viral away either, and he's turned into a few different things now, so I doubt she'll send you away," Takeshi said, waving Shu and Haku out of the room first, "And we're all technically aliens, if ya think about it. I mean... Saiyans are alien to Kaesstrians, right? And even back on Earth Shu and I are technically aliens compared to humans, so you won't be judged by us because of anything like that. As long as you're a good guy that's all we care about, you know?" Sure, T'charrl might not look like them but that didn't make him any worse than they were. He was strong, a good friend and a good person, so with all that who cared how he looked? Granted he might give some certain people a bit of a fright now and again but that scarcely made him bad. "In that case let's get you to Yumi real quick, then back here so you can sleep, yeah?" Takeshi was actually beginning to feel a touch sleepy himself now, he would probably knock out the minute he laid in his own bed. Whether or not he went to take a nap depended on how Shu was feeling too and if they were doing anything after this. He figured probably not, the little guy had to be running out of energy soon, maybe.
"Don't get me wrong Viral... I trust you... But there's no way of knowing what you could do if you got really bad," Yumi said, smiling sadly as she scratched her cheek, "Earlier today I never thought in a million years you might come after me, but you did. Oh, but don't feel too bad about it! I know you didn't want to do that, and I'm not blaming you for it either. All I'm saying is we can't know what will happen, so it's just easier to be safe. I hope you can understand that." Medicine, especially anti-depressants could be plain horrible if taken in excessive doses. Vegeta probably knew more on the matter than she did but there was plenty of reason regardless not to overdo it on the pills. Watching Viral as he returned to his bed she rose to her feet, lifting her arms up over her head in a stretch. Today had been fairly eventful all things considered, though she wouldn't mind a bit more training before she went to bed. Perhaps once Viral was taken care of she would see if Choi wanted to train, or one of the others. "I think he'll be perfectly alright with you having aspirin. Like I said though, let me talk to him about it. I'll try and get him to let you keep it with you so you can take it more often. As long as you just follow whatever plan he's got then Vegeta will have no reason to restrict it again." Yumi figured too that if Viral were in better health when the tests were being done they might get a more clear picture of how well the treatment was working.

So neither Takeshi nor Shu could explain what their friend used to look like. A bit of an issue sure but not the end of the world, not when they had someone else to go to. There was one more person who both met and saw T'charrl when he was his regular self and she was likely more able to describe him than anyone else could. And provided Yumi wasn't terribly busy right now then they could go ahead and go find her; Yumi wouldn't turn away the Kaesstrian if he needed help from her. "She is really smart. I mean, not Vegeta level smart, but she's still smart," Takeshi agreed with a nod. Maybe she couldn't get her mind around all the science mumbo jumbo but she should at the very least be able to describe how T'charrl had looked, or give him something to go off of. It was kind of their last stop too for this so Takeshi certainly hoped she would be able to lend them a hand. Again giving his friend a thumbs up the Saiyan headed once again for the door, opening it up and turning back to the others. "Of course she's going to be, why wouldn't she? I mean she practically gushes every time she sees Shu, and she really liked you, still does, you know? I can't see any reason she'd not want to see us." So long as Haku kept his little comments to himself they would be just fine, otherwise someone was going through a wall. Heh, he got slapped whenever he made a stupid comment or did something risky to Shu, so Takeshi couldn't wait to see what might happen if Haku started hitting on her. Surely he couldn't be that stupid, right? "Need a hand walking, T'charrl?"
Maybe that was really the issue here, Vegeta having an 'all or nothing' sort of mentality. Rather than develop little aids along the way he was working towards a single, all encompassing cure. Yeah it would be nice to have that developed but it also meant Viral was left to suffer while it was made. That didn't sound practical nor fair to Yumi, she figured they should help their friend every step of the way. To be fair though Vegeta had some valid concerns about giving Viral all kinds of medicine, some of which other people shared. There was a real concern for instance if the Beastman were to get into a funk he'd just go right to medicine. Good since that's what it was there for, but he might do it more often than he was supposed to. Overdosing on anti-depressants would, obviously, be bad, and pretty much negate the whole reason they were given. "We know you wouldn't do it on purpose, no one is saying you would. But if you get really upset, need something to help it... Can you be a hundred percent sure you won't try taking more than you should to make it stop?" If Viral really wanted his medicine on his person then he would probably have to accept having someone around him at all times. The latter was already a thing more or less so maybe Vegeta would allow it if they just went and asked. "When he's awake I'll go and see about getting you some pain medicine, and your anti-depressants. I'm going to ask how much you should take though, and I'll trust you to stick to whatever doses he tells you, is that fair?"

Takeshi wasn't so much irritated as he was flustered. It was just weird hearing someone talk like you did, and with so many other people around he couldn't understand why T'charrl picked him of all people for reference. If the guy copied Vegeta, which honestly no one probably could then he'd sound smart. Or even if he picked up how Yumi spoke he'd still sound more educated. Maybe he didn't care about that, or didn't know enough to care. Noticing his message was coming across all wrong Takeshi smiled nervously, shaking his head quickly, "No harm done, really. I just think you should learn from other people too, you know? They can help you learn to talk too. I mean heck, Shu can help even!" His little brother might not be the brightest but even he knew how to speak, that was all T'charrl needed to be instructed. Having been looking at Shu, the older boy wasn't too sure if Haku thought he wasn't paying or attention or just decided not to listen, but he certainly heard what was being said about Yumi. Taking offense he stepped over and grabbed hold of the other boy's pants, lifting him up in the most uncomfortable way possible before setting him down, smirking as he watched Haku fuss with his pants fitfully. "Unless you want that to happen again you should probably shut up, got it?" he threatened, reaching out and ruffling Haku's hair a bit forcibly, unlike Shu when it was a show of affection.

Speaking of Yumi though maybe she was the answer to T'charrl's problems. Shu brought up a very good point in that she knew what T'charrl looked like both before and after the transformation, which they would need. Not only that but she could probably describe his appearance much better than either he or Shu could, or even draw for that matter. The little guy gave it his best shot and unfortunately was a bit too vague, enough so that even Takeshi was left a bit puzzled as to what he was saying. "Yumi should definitely be able to help out, she's smart too," he agreed, nodding with a smile, "You've got to be able to change back, T'charrl. I mean it only makes sense right? Saiyans can change back and forth, though sometimes it's not always easy one way or another. And we saw Yumi leave with Viral, so they probably went to some place together. Maybe her room or his. So we should go check there before anywhere else don't ya think?"
