Why did Shu always have to ask questions? About everything? Jeez, he didn't know the specifics about brain damage, he just knew it was a thing. Sighing to himself Takeshi scratched at his head, placing one hand on his hip as he glanced over at Shu. "It's... I don't know, I have no idea why it's not called brain pain," the older boy replied, "Damage means... I mean it's the same as hurting or injuring, basically. So saying you had brain damage means you hurt your brain, get it? Good." Shy of that brief, hasty explanation he'd just provided Takeshi hadn't the slightest idea how to elaborate on the point further. Really explaining medical stuff to anyone was too complicated for him, he'd admit that. They really should figure out what exactly they were doing too, whether it was going back to the ship or staying here. Takeshi thought for a moment they should leave since T'charrl wanted time with his folks, but then it dawned on him he'd probably not spend all his time with them. Doubling back to the room he made sure their friend knew they would be around, nodding his head in reply to what was said. "Sure, we'll uh... I guess walk around the city a bit. Go spend time with your mom and dad, we'll come back in a bit." Exploring the town might be fun, it wasn't so often you got to see an underground city. Turning to Shu he smiled knowingly, pointing down the corridor they had come from. "How's about you lead the way buddy?" "Your friends truly are imbeciles... You know that right...?" Renthal asked, having waited for everyone else to get out of earshot. "They're good kids, I can tell that much, but not the brightest bunch. I suppose we take what we can get though." Pushing the glasses up on his face a little the doctor glanced over at T'charrl, tilting his head to the side hearing the request. It wasn't unreasonable, though he was a touch confused as to why they were doing it now. Drawing blood after being so exhausted and potentially on an empty stomach would leave the Prince feeling weaker than when he had come in earlier. "I suppose I can do that boy, but you know I can't keep things from Her Majesty. If she comes knocking I'll hand it over, but I can at least promise I won't go out of my way to tell her." To draw blood he'd need a syringe and a vial, as well as some disinfectant and gauze; nearly everything Renthal would need was in his storage cabinet. Fetching every item on his list the doctor took out a clump of gauze, nodding his head towards the bed once more. "Take a seat and we'll do this. I don't want you passing out or anything." Imbuing Viral with Ki wasn't wholly impossible, and Vegeta was even willing to wager his father had considered it at one point. Given the fact it hadn't been done he could only come to two conclusions; introducing Ki into Viral's body would not work outright, or it had been considered so late in the process that giving him it would be improbably difficult. Granted, so would be introducing new genes now, with Viral having some twenty plus years to his name. His body would change of course, as did Yumi's with her operation, but it was hard to say what might happen. "I suppose it's true we can't give you your own, genuine Ki. Unless..." There could be a way actually, albeit it would be extremely difficult. Putting one finger to his lips Vegeta folded his other arm behind his back, starting to pace as he sometimes did while deep in thought. "If I can take the culture of your cells... Introduce other cells to it... Theoretically by splicing them together your cells could incorporate the Ki. They would be your cells but they would have another person's Ki, thus perhaps granting you use of Ki. And that Ki would be finite, but if your body adapts to having it then I would think you might form your own. Of course, splicing DNA and then distributing it into your body and trying to make sure it manifests itself correctly would be far from easy, and a job to consider down the road. For now we focus on improving your health first." Yumi wasn't entirely sure what Vegeta had just said, only able to pick up the gist of the matter. "So we'd basically make it so he could make his own Ki, instead of giving him someone else's?" she asked, nodding to herself understandingly. It sounded like it would work, then again she hardly got any of it so what did she really know? If there was even a marginal chance of granting Viral's wish they should take it, if only because it might give their friend something to be hopeful for. There was the matter of his second wish as well, but since he was so reluctant to share it and they'd already pried out some information she wasn't going to push for it. "Thank you for sharing that with us, Viral. I think it's a great wish to have. And who knows, maybe it will come true some day!" If they managed to bring back Aito then the possibilities for the Beastman were boundless. Should they return to earth they would have both Aito and Ikura to work on making that dream a reality. Raising her arms up over her head in a stretch Yumi smiled, folding her hands behind her back again, "So what do we do now? Anything you want to do Viral?"
Maybe Takeshi had misunderstood a little bit, having walked out like that. From how things were being said he thought they were going to have to leave and so he was, with a little extra encouragement from Renthal. Seriously, stupid doctor throwing things around, weren't doctors supposed to help and not hurt? Guy had the thinnest skin in the history of forever, getting violent over two little quips like that. How was he supposed to act towards someone who smacked him with a clipboard? Stopping just outside the door he let out a sigh, raising an eyebrow as he turned to look back at Shu. Sheesh, there was Shu telling him to be all nice again, it was getting a bit redundant. He was nice, at least usually. Not his fault the doctor couldn't take being laughed at; Renthal was so sensitive apparently maybe he ought not to be dressing like that. "Brain damage is when you're brain gets hurt, I figured that was pretty straight forward," Takeshi answered, "And hang on a second, will you?" They really should still do dinner, especially with how Shu had been looking forward to it. Plus it was nice to get a change of scenery, so any excuse to stay out of the ship they should take. Going back to the door and poking his head in he smiled slightly, giving a small wave, "Hey! We'll be coming for dinner, don't worry. Kind of forgot for a second, sorry." "If you'll only speak to us Viral then everything changes. Getting it out in the open will relieve stress, and it'll enable us to actually work on the real issues here. We may be able to help you as things are now, but opening up will put you on the fast track to recovery." Vegeta wasn't going to add the fact having Viral open up would provide them with some peace of mind as well. Having someone so close to you be depressed constantly wore on those around them as well, and goodness knows he was feeling the effects of it, as was Yumi. Astonishingly between his and Yumi's coaxing the Beastman did begin to speak, however tentatively at first it may have been. Compared to how things had been progressing at this rate hearing the wishes he'd had for himself were the first big step they had made in quite a while. Unfortunately it did not seem as they would get both, yet having even just one was enough to get started. "Granting you Ki isn't impossible, I'm certain the Saiyans went about it the wrong way," Vegeta mused, nodding as he placed a hand on his chin, "But Viral, think about it. When my father created you he did not grant you Ki, and can you guess why? You were his greatest success and pride, so I doubt he'd purposefully slight you. I think he made you strong enough that even without you could face any foe. Yes, your strength has waned with this mess, but we can bring you back to your former power, maybe even beyond it." Viral was wholly capable of fighting Ki users, and besides, he had his own form of energy. Arguably stronger than Ki Viral shouldn't forget he could harness the power of the sun to much the same ends, the only thing he was missing was flight. "I'll leave the choice to you. I can most likely find a means of giving you Ki, but I don't know if I could undo it. Personally I believe my father thought you did not need it, that you can become powerful enough without, yet I'll leave that decision to you." Yumi was pretty darn happy to be hearing Viral's wishes, even if only one. It was more than they had ever been given before and she was a little surprised by what he wanted. In a way it made sense, he was surrounded by Ki users and saw what it could do on a daily basis. If she were to be honest when she had first met Shu and Takeshi she had been the same way, astonished and excited by the prospective power of Ki. Now that she had access to Ki it was certainly nice, though she could function just as well without. Smiling up at her friend she released him at last, taking a small step back as she folded her hands together. "When we all first started traveling together you were the strongest out of us, and you never had Ki. Really up until you were taken away you were stronger than everyone, so you can definitely be again." Letting out a small laugh Yumi closed her eyes, her smile widening as she tilted her head to the side. Things were going to start looking up if they could keep this going, now she was excited for Viral. "Wanting Ki isn't selfish, by the way. I did the same thing but I don't think I was selfish by doing it. You're a fighter like we are, and any time there's a new technique or ability that can give you an edge in a fight you want it. I'm with Vegeta, I don't think you need it up I'll support you 100% if you decide you want it. I can even help train you to use it, if you'd like."
Takeshi could see this whole conversation was going to go nowhere fast, probably best to drop it. Convincing Shu that he was being silly and not just "himself" was going to be impossible, unless that really was just how he acted... Which it was. Gah, this is why he didn't argue with his brother, it just made his head hurt! Narrowing his eyes at the younger boy he gave his head a rubbing, looking back over at T'charrl as he was getting finished up. "Hn... You're still a goofball, just so you know. Even if that is how you normally are." It was nice to see their friend getting back into the swing of things, and maybe in just a few days time he would be as good as new. Whatever T'charrl's plans were for the future, traveling with them or remaining here he was going to need to be healthy for it. Yet again Shu brought up a question of his character, making Takeshi turn back as he smiled slightly frustrated. "I am plenty nice," he began, squatting down and prodding Shu in the forehead, "I'm a hell of a lot nicer than I used to be, and that's good enough. If other people don't like it then too bad." Pausing briefly he frowned, hanging his head as he let out a long winded sigh. "I am getting really tired of being hit, though... Starting to worry if I might suffer brain damage because of it." "You'd better bet your rear we'll come and visit!!" Takeshi said, getting back to his feet with a smile, "I don't know what your dad will want with us, but I won't say no. As long as he's not going to do anything weird like poke at us or examine us." That was probably more Katas' speed though; why did it always seem like the hyper-intelligent people were weird? It was thoughts like that which made him glad he was just average, otherwise he could be a total nutcase. Looking at the scouter being offered Takeshi snatched it right up, giving a nod as he slipped it into one of his pockets. "Sure, no problem. We'll come by first thing tomorrow to see you, okay? And we'll try bringing everyone else along too." If by some unfortunate chance this would be where they went their separate ways then it was best to bring everyone along, otherwise someone could be disappointed they didn't get to say their goodbyes. For now though they had better get moving, seeing as T'charrl would want to spend time with his family. Dinner on the ship then, not so bad. "We'll see you later buddy, have fun with your parents!" Takeshi added as he made for the door, pausing to look back at Renthal, "Stupid doctor..." Gasping as the same clipboard was thrown at his head he ducked under it, promptly slipping out of the room afterwards. Yumi couldn't keep her mouth closed any longer, and this needed to be said. Whatever reasons Viral thought that they were doing this needed to be cleared up, and he had to understand that this wasn't some kind of obligation. Any guilt he was feeling, any sense of his being a burden to them, all of that needed to be done away with. So maybe she shouldn't have slapped the Beastman like that, but it had gotten his attention at the very least. Going into a fair long-winded rant she ended with a few soft-spoken words, placing a hand on Viral's arm to try and convey that she really wasn't angry with him. "Viral... We want to help, and you know we want to help, but we can't do anything if we don't know what's going on," Yumi reaffirmed, smiling sadly, "Saying what's eating at you won't fix it, sure, but it'll make it so we can. Instead of bumbling around in the dark like we have been we can focus on what the real issues are, and things will get better even quicker. Just talking to us about it and sharing what's on your mind will make this so much easier, on everyone. And it's hard, but it's the first step to you really getting better." "The truth of the matter is that we won't abandon you no matter what might happen," Vegeta continued, smiling slightly, "I've been called a stubborn bastard before, and never before does it ring more true than now. I've not been working tirelessly to help you simply because I was asked by my father, or that I feel some sort of sense of obligation, but because I want to. I want to help you, as does Yumi and everyone else. But we're incapable of lifting so much as a finger until you tell us what you feel, and what you're thinking. The only person who knows your exact feelings is you, nothing we can do will truly tell us that much." This had to convey the point, otherwise there really was no way of opening Viral's eyes. There was frustration, but not directed at him, and there was sadness, but only sadness because of sympathy. He may not want their attention nor might he feel deserving of it, but it would come regardless. Watching as Yumi went ahead and gave a hug to the Beastman, Vegeta chuckled lightheartedly, rubbing at the back of his head. "This sentimental business really doesn't suit me... But what needed to be said has been said. If you can just talk to us then we can really get on the road to recovery. The only reason we've been so against your wishes so far is because we know that if we did as asked things would only get worse. We insist because we care, and because we're trying to help. All you need to do is let us in, and we can do the rest."
"Normal for you IS silly, that's my point Shu," Takeshi repeated, rolling his eyes, "There's a time and a place for being a goof, you know? Now isn't it." Okay, to be fair maybe he was only trying to protect his own rear here, but you couldn't really blame him. The Queen looked to hit anyone that so much thought something wrong, meaning she was pretty lenient with who she smacked. If he could just go a single day without being hit for something stupid that would be nice, though that had already been soiled by the doctor. Reddening when he was called out by Shu, Takeshi huffed and folded his arms tight, looking away briefly before back at his brother. "What? No! That's not why at all!" Takeshi replied, becoming a bit embarrassed, "I mean, what reason would she have for hitting me, you know? I've done nothing wrong! I'm innocent darn it!" Knowing his luck he could be innocent or guilty, it didn't matter, he'd get hit one way or another. The universe just loved using him as a slap bag it seemed, stupid universe. Hn, was T'charrl done yet? They could go find something to do that hopefully wouldn't get them in trouble. Hearing out T'charrl's request Takeshi gave a smile, nodding and flashing a thumbs up, "Go for it buddy, we don't mind. Just call us when you want to meet up again, yeah?" Haku didn't care much for his own family, he could take them or leave them; T'charrl cared quite a lot for his and was happy to be home. He was both confused and somewhat envious of this fact, but he wasn't going to spend too much energy worrying about it right now. He'd not voiced being hungry as of yet but he certainly was, and the sooner they could get to eating the better. Looking over at the Princes it appeared that at least Takeshi was on board with the idea, so then too was Haku. Giving a nod of his head he smiled slightly, not wholly sure what his approval really counted for here. There was no harm in spending a day or two here with family far as he could see, even if he wasn't able to understand the desire. In the meantime he supposed they would return to the ship, unless one of the Princes had something in mind they wanted to do. He was only along for the ride really, not having any idea what he might do were he not tagging along with someone else. Kaesstra was a whole new experience and he wanted to explore a bit, but confidence to wander out on his own was something Haku sorely lacked. Vegeta was borderline ready to tell Viral to suck it up and do as he was told, which for obvious reasons would be bad. Why couldn't the Beastman understand the simple fact that they needed to know how he felt to fix it? Sure, depressed was obvious, but there were any number of underlying feelings that they were unaware of, all because he refused to open up. In order to fix the issue they had to get right to the source, not dance around it and hope they might blindly stumble upon the right answer. "Why do you need to tell me? Because my cure isn't a cure for your depression, it will fix your physical ailments. We have to actually know the real roots of your problems before they can be addressed, and you're refusing to speak about it. How do you intend for us to help anything if you don't speak to us?" He really was not getting it, and Vegeta was becoming impatient by that fact. Letting out a sigh he closed his eyes, pinching the bridge of his brow before looking at Viral sternly. "Once you open up your condition only can improve, why don't you understand that? If we know the exact details then we won't waste time on senseless treatments and running about, we can work on what exactly you need and figure this out far quicker." Yumi was at her tipping point as well, almost unable to listen to what Viral was saying. Did he honestly think they could help him as things were now? And what was this about forgetting him? Clenching her hands into fists she frowned, finally having to react somehow. Reaching out she tried to smack Viral across the cheek, tears threatening to come out as she looked up at him. "Just forget you? Do you have any idea what you're asking of us, Viral?" she asked, shaking her head disdainfully, "We love you! We care about you and we want to help you, and you want us to just forget you? We can't do that, no matter how many times you say it or how much you might think you want it, we won't. If you put us in danger, or if this makes it hard on us then oh well, we'll tough it out. Nothing is going to keep us from being here for you, and I mean nothing." It wouldn't take anything less than being killed to make her or Vegeta stop trying, and she liked to think the same could be said for the rest of their friends. It wasn't just about making Viral healthy any more either, everyone else needed this as much as he did. Sniffling softly Yumi reached up and wiped at her eyes with the heels of her hands, reaching out once more and placing a hand on the Beastman's arm. "We're not angry at you, please understand that. We're frustrated, but only because we haven't been able to help. We just want you to feel better, that's all. We're going to keep trying to do that, no matter what happens."
Uchiha Yoshiro
Correct me if I'm wrong, but we post our CS here for approval, no? I remember reading something on the matter but can't quite remember right now.
It was a small wonder Takeshi actually managed to get Shu to settle down, normally the kid would be jumping every which direction right up until meal time. Of course just because Shu was done hopping didn't mean he was completely calm, as evident by the fact he was waddling about like he had soiled his pants. Rolling his eyes the older boy looked on in slight surprise when his sibling actually sat down, something that never happened. It was a miracle, Shu was cooperating for once! Grinning Takeshi walked over and reached down, ruffling Shu's hair teasingly as he did so. "See, was that so hard? Now I don't have to keep telling you to stop!" he said, placing his hands on his hips, "Try keeping the silliness to a minimum while we're here, okay? I don't want to give the Queen any reason to get mad at us." Or him, more likely than not. Wondering how things were coming along he ventured a look over at T'charrl and the doctor, glad to see their friend was getting a clean bill of health more or less. After all the trouble they had been through it was only right that T'charrl be healthy again, now if only Viral could have the same kind of luck. Renthal really needed to test this medicine out, and T'charrl seemed the perfect candidate. If it worked in the way he hoped he would be able to supply their troops with it as a supplement, maybe make them able to carry out their duties longer without ever tiring! Sure there were a handful of substances which gave people energy, but that was superficial and wore off. Should this concoction of his work out the way he intended a soldier would be able to handle any kind of condition and not wear out, it was basically a super stimulant. Hearing that the Prince was not overly keen on the treatment left him a bit annoyed, turning sour as he shrugged it off. "Yes yes, after dinner. I'm happy to see your appetite is still there child," Renthal remarked, narrowing his eyes up at the Prince. Turning on his heel he moved across the room to a closet, grabbing a set of crutches out before delivering them to T'charrl's bedside. "I suppose you're right about the food, it will help circulate the medicine better. Yes, we'll do that instead, good idea! I've got a few appointments between now and then, but if I wedge in some time between them then maybe..." "Er... After dinner we need to go back to the ship actually," Haku interjected, smiling slightly, "See, one of our group is sort of the boss, and he wants us back before long. We don't want to make him angry by not showing up, do we T'charrl?" None of them honestly planned to abide by the curfew, but damned if it didn't make a good excuse to get out of things. Hopefully the others didn't mind his lying to get the alien out of the pickle, it was plain as day that their friend did not want to take the medicine. Really who could blame him? Taking some tried and proven medication was one matter, but doing a trial run was nasty business, especially when the person taking it may have to fight or travel soon after. Some other poor sap was going to be stuck taking it then, but at least that person was local and wouldn't end up far away in some weird drug-induced state. Renthal looked to be quite annoyed with that tidbit but said nothing more on the matter, hopefully meaning they were clear. Haku looked over at T'charrl knowingly and gave a small nod of his head, placing a hand on his stomach, "What do we do before we eat then? Think we can get a tour of this palace?" He really did want to see it, the whole place just looked so nice and it was refreshing being in a palace that didn't make you feel like it was essentially a prison too. Yumi had figured that Viral had another sudden lapse in control, and he only had confirmed just as much. It was hard to imagine what had caused him to attack, unless he maybe felt threatened over being chased. Odd, seeing as neither she nor Vegeta meant anything malicious by it, but that was the only thing she could imagine. Viral looked so bent out of shape over the whole matter, obviously not proud to be admitting it. Knowing full well that he'd hate for Vegeta to learn of it she had to call him back over, as this was something they really needed to address. "Viral... You keep trying to say you're fine but then these things happen. Look, I'm going to be straight with you, okay? You say you're fine but everyone else knows that you're not, the only person you're trying to fool is yourself. You can't keep rejecting us for trying to help when it's plain as day something is wrong. It just... It doesn't make sense!" This certainly wasn't her area of expertise, so after managing to flag Vegeta down she waited until he came back over, briefly filling him in on what had happened. In a way she felt rather bad, having betrayed Viral's confidence after just telling him she'd do no such thing, but this problem had to be dealt with. "This is really getting out of hand... I don't want to count how many times this has happened now," Vegeta lamented, sighing as he rubbed at his head. The first thing he was thinking of now was returning to the ship and hurrying up on creating his cure, yet there was another matter plaguing him too. Haunted almost by the conversation he'd had with Choi he couldn't just leave Viral now, nor could he put the task on Yumi as he had been and hope it would work out. If this problem was ever going to be solved it would be by his hand, of that he had no doubt, but he couldn't be putting off the aspects of it he didn't want to undertake. "Viral, we're going to have a talk here and now. We can't keep dancing around the issue because you don't feel like talking about it, I'm sorry. We'll get everything out in the open and work from there, understood?" Glancing over at the Beastman he frowned, folding his arms sternly as he stepped closer. "And no excuses. If you want to know what I've really thought about all this I think you avoiding the subject is weakness. You're right, you are weak, but not in the way you imagine yourself to be. Look around you Viral, you've got nearly a dozen people all pushing to help you and yet you shut us all out. You have to learn to trust everyone around you and be comfortable with sharing what's on your mind, otherwise no medicine I make will be able to cure you. We're not here to hurt you, nor are we out to demean you or try to ruin you, we're only here to help. But until you get over this preconceived notion that we'll look down on you for opening up there will never be any progress made."
Just because you were a Saiyan didn't mean being hit by mundane things like clipboards didn't smart, especially when someone struck you on the shin. Stupid doctor, if he didn't want to be laughed at he shouldn't look so ridiculous! Nursing his leg briefly Takeshi looked over at Shu, making a face at the fact his brother was amused at his misery. For a cheerful little guy he was awfully evil, always giggling and having a good time at his expense. Smiling tightly the older boy reached out and tried to tweak Shu's nose, certainly not amused by it himself. "Maybe you should stop bouncing before you slip or something," he warned, folding his arms again, "Didn't I tell you to stop bouncing earlier anyways? You're going to give yourself brain damage hopping around all the time, you squirt." Sooner or later Shu was going to have to stop, it was just silly. Maybe if he wasn't so sour right now over being smacked right now Takeshi wouldn't care, but Renthal had made him all moody and he was a bit snippy at the moment. Renthal had absolutely no knowledge of how space worked, or what traveling through it might be like. Hearing it from someone who had been with the Prince and likely on quite a few journeys of their own put the matter into perspective, enough so that the doctor could even draw some comparisons. "Oh? Some handful of soldiers who were getting ill, going between the cities constantly day in and day out. The pressure difference was making them nauseous and their bodies were having trouble, so I offered some on a whim to see if it would help. Honestly the medicine started as something to help strengthen their body against the pressure, but I guess it worked as sort of a steroid... With side effects..." He couldn't be wholly at fault for that, it was an experimental drug after all. Truth be told as well it was work he was doing with some of Garesh's research, approved by Her Majesty and General Yusef for possible medicinal applications. Obviously they couldn't follow the formula to a tee as it was far too potent, and seemed to have a tendency to make the individual go berserk, but T'charrl wouldn't worry about that with such a low dosage. Seeing and hearing the uncertainty from the Prince, Renthal huffed and shook his head testily, "Never mind boy, it would be a shame to get you ill too. We'll just have to wait this out!" "It is too a big deal. If it was nothing then you'd have no problem sharing it with me, or am I wrong?" Yumi asked, placing her hands on her hips sternly, "It's because something is wrong and you know it that you don't want to talk. Come on Viral, I might not be as smart as Vegeta but even I can tell something's eating at you." She wasn't being unreasonable in asking for an explanation here, especially not after being tackled like that. You didn't just randomly tackle someone unless you were Shu, it was normal for him to be weird like that. Raising an eyebrow as she awaited an answer the explanation she finally received was scarcely satisfying, if anything it was downright useless. Sighing to herself Yumi frowned, holding up a finger in Viral's face as she tapped a foot rhythmically. "Why did you pounce? There has to be a reason that you pounced. You don't usually do it just because, you're not random like Shu is. Were you having another one of those moments like before? I know it's not easy to talk about Viral, but we can't just ignore it when it happens. Unless you want to talk to Vegeta instead of me?"
Display Name: Kosuke, the Crimson Blade Real Name: Fukuyama Ryou Age: 15 Race: Wolf Fang Level: 68 Class and Subclass: Samurai and Avenger Appearance:
    Equipment:
  • Casual attire: Kosuke dresses very simply when inside of a city, on a slight whim not to appear flashy or draw attention. Though the color of his outfit may vary it almost always consists of a high-collared tunic with short sleeves, and a long-sleeved black shirt beneath that. A leather belt secures a pair of brown pants around his waist and a set of socks and sandals cover his feet. Regardless of where he is Kosuke always wears a black, hoodless cloak which he typically keeps closed. Even out of combat he always has his sword at his hip.[/*]
  • Combat Gear: Kosuke trades all but his cloak in for his combat attire, opting for the flexible plate armor of traditional samurai instead. Wearing both a black long-sleeved shirt and pants which are both figure conforming he has over his torso a sheer, single plate of armor, both on his front and back. These are held together by black, interlacing straps which run along his sides and over his shoulders, and it’s to these topmost straps that two curved plates rest to cover his shoulders. His legs are covered primarily by thigh guards and shin guards, made again of the individual plates to provide maneuverability. A set of hardened leather boots cover his feet. All of his armor is of a reddish color.[/*]
  • Weapon: At current Kosuke only has a single weapon. Dubbed “Teshō’s Blade”, this Katana is a very rare drop acquired from the level 65 dungeon of similar name, “Teshō’s Burial Grounds.” About three feet in length, the blade of the weapon itself is made of a dark steel and a lighter steel, showing as two halves almost of one blade. Engravings of the Japanese idiom: “Nanakorobi yaoki” (fall seven times and stand up eight) can be seen on each side, the color of the engravings changing with the blade. The handguard on the sword is of an amber color and molded to look almost akin to a budding flower. The handle of the sword itself is made of a dark pine wood wrapped tightly in red cloth, two tassels hanging off the very end of it. The sword is unique in that it has two abilities to its name; Warrior’s Fury and Warrior’s Determination. Above 50% health Kosuke gains an extra 10% attack power when striking. Conversely should his health fall below 50% he gains an extra 10% in damage mitigation, both magical and physical. The wielder of this weapon gains the title of "Crimson Blade" in reference to Teshō’s infamous blood-red or crimson armor he wore into combat.[/*]
Elder Tales History: Despite playing the game for well over three years on and off Kosuke has spent nearly all of it as a solo player. PUG groups aside he typically trains and travels on his own, earning him a bit of a reputation as a loner. As such even when he attempted to join a smaller Guild he was invariably turned away under the pretense he wouldn’t work well with others, which may have been right. As a game which you could do perfectly fine as a solo player he didn’t let it bother him very much, the solitary play wasn’t all bad. As a single player he was able to train and gain experience at quicker rates than most and during the peak of his playing he was one of the higher levels on the server. Kosuke had to take a break from the game as his grades had slipped, but after 6 months he had gotten back into it. Still a solo player, and now missing most of his few friends he’d made he resumed his solitary playtime once more. He had no desire to join others even still, but a tiny little event was set to change that. After the Apocalypse hit and countless players were stuck in the game it became increasingly obvious that you needed a group in order to survive in this world. Death may not be final but it wasn’t good by any stretch, it paid to have someone watching your back. With no one to support him then Kosuke soon found himself a near permanent resident of Akihabara. Sooner or later someone was bound to offer him a place in a group, he’d just have to hold out and wait until then.
"Just because I know how he feels doesn't mean I can help him," Takeshi pointed out, sighing as he rubbed at the back of his head, "I got better when I got you back, but he doesn't have that, you know? He's got everyone he's ever been with, so he's not bummed because someone's gone. Unless he's upset about Vegeta's folks, but we're going to fix that." There was a nagging feeling that missing Vegeta's parents wasn't what had Viral this way, in fact he was sure of it. Maybe the same thing was wrong with Viral that was wrong with Shu, and certain things made him freak out or nervous. Vegeta had a name for the condition but for the life of him Takeshi couldn't remember it, only that it was pretty nasty. Unless he could figure out how to work with Shu there wasn't a chance in hell of him helping Viral any. All the reason to ask the doctor about it, the guy probably saw loads while working with soldiers. That was the plan, yet moments later during their first meeting in quite a while he was smacked with a clipboard, and pretty quickly the Kaesstrian went on Takeshi's crap list. Hey, it wasn't his fault the guy looked funny! Getting over the initial pain of being smacked he frowned at Renthal, folding his arms and huffing unamused. Renthal only had to look at T'charrl to notice there was plenty bothering the boy. The way he carried himself, the fact that he seemed rather tired, everything about him was screaming worn out. Goodness knows what he had been through during their travels, and what was with his appearance? That was new, perhaps a side effect of traveling? Ech, suddenly he wasn't so keen on going out into space now. "You might as well have been here every week, hm! You were my number one patient!" the doctor said, "And I don't mean that in a good light boy. I'll give you the check up you want, but don't whine if I tell you to go lie down for a while, understand? I know your friends are here but what I say in this room is law, got it?" Despite his small stature he grabbed one of the Prince's hands and near dragged him to a bed, making the young Kaesstrian take a seat. Adjusting his glasses then Renthal went through the standard routine, checking blood pressure, heart rates and the likes. It only took a few minutes and when he was done the doctor nodded knowingly, giving his head a scratching. "Well... I'll be honest, everything checks out fine. I don't quite get why you're feeling weak. You've been eating, yes? Drinking plenty? Gotten sleep?" "Uh... It could be he's still got his space legs..." Haku offered, having finally finished his talk with Vegeta. Getting a scrutinizing look from Renthal he shirked back some, frowning as he wrung his hands together nervously. "Well, you see... It's common in the Saiyan military, especially for those who don't do space travel a lot. Your body gets used to a different gravity or... I don't know, there's a ton of things that go into it and I don't remember. But basically his problem could be he just has to get used to being here again, that's all." It had happened to him his first few trips off of Kortal, and probably to most people in the military, Saiyan or otherwise. The really strong people tended to hold out better with changes in gravity, their bodies could handle it, his not so much. If that was the problem then really the only thing one could do was wait for your body to readjust, plain and simple. Being in lighter gravity made your bones lighter, really your body as a whole, and denser gravity had the opposite effect. Renthal never really had dealt with space travel before, and certainly nothing called "space legs", but it made sense. It was akin almost to the pressure differences in the above ground cities and the below, namely at the highest and lowest points. There were definite differences between those two spots, and if you went from one to the other too quickly you could get disoriented quite a lot. That was altitude and not exactly the same thing, but in theory it sounded about the same. "So his body needs to acclimate to Kaesstra again... Interesting. I'd never have thought traveling in space would do that to you..." the doctor mused, scratching at his chin. Looking over at T'charrl thoughtfully he nodded his head, a small smile crossing his face. "I can offer some medicine to help rebuild muscle mass, unless you'd rather let yourself get used to it naturally. I should warn you it is experimental though, and the last patient I had take it ended up sick for a few days. But I'm pretty certain I've ironed out the formula." "I don't think you're fine, Viral. People who are fine just don't tackle someone, unless you suddenly got a playful streak," Yumi said, raising an eyebrow accusingly. "You can tell me what's bothering you, you know that. If you want we can even send Vegeta away while you talk." Figuring there would be a fair bit of complaints from their friend she glanced up in his direction, narrowing her eyes when he almost looked like he wanted to speak before pointing up at him. "You. Away. Now," she added, "Uh... Uh... Away." He wouldn't go far, they just needed a brief moment of privacy was all so maybe Viral would feel more comfortable. Waiting until he was a good few meters away Yumi softened up some, looking at Viral and suppressing a giggle. He had leaves and twigs all stuck in his hair, and she likely did as well. Reaching up and running her fingers through her hair she found a couple, tossing them aside. "You know I won't make fun of you, or think less of you if you tell me," Yumi said gently, reaching up and plucking a twig out of Viral's hair, "So go on, talk to me. What's on your mind?"
