"The whole reason I ran away was to get as far from that life as I could! Why would I go through all that only to go and tell you who I was?" Katsu retorted, throwing his hands up in exasperation, "And like you would have believed me! The only reason you bought my story just now is because I bended! I never would have shown you that if I didn't have to, so you'd never have trained me. I'd just be some thief that ran into you now and again, that's all." No way was he going to be the one to blame here, he had tried to keep all of this from happening. If he had his way then he wouldn't have even gone to that restaurant, he'd be home right now and the White Lotus would be none the wiser. Once more trying to rid himself of the water on him, Katsu brought out a little bit of fire, using it to try and evaporate the liquids.

"Didn't you just see me fight them? I know what I'm doing, I don't need a guard," Katsu snapped back, "And don't go blaming me for what happened, I tried to keep you out of it. I tried bringing them down here to fight, but you chased me. How is it my fault that you couldn't stay out of my business?" Seriously, just what was Siku on about? And why did she care so damn much? Just because he was the Avatar? Earlier she wouldn't have given him the time of day, but now because he was someone special she suddenly started giving a darn? This was why he hated being who he was, people just cared about what he was, not him personally.

For people who were saying they wanted to help these three sure weren't making his life any easier. He had places he could go, namely his own hideout and the several safe houses all over the city. He had planned for this sort of thing, and if he could only get a move on then he could get his plans underway. Instead of being allowed some peace and quiet however now he was being told where he was going, not having any of it. Looking over at Hiresh he frowned, letting out a scoff as he supported the Air Temple idea. "VIP eh? Oh I'm soooo honored," he said sarcastically, then when insulted his face reddened and he stomped his foot, pointing up at the taller boy angrily. "Hey! I know how to bend perfectly fine, and I can fight well enough to beat these creeps! I am not your responsibility, and don't call me the Avatar!" Ugh, they were already starting with it! Though he loathed when Hiresh scrutinized his every move he almost missed that right now, preferring being looked down upon as a thief over this. Hearing the officer make the claim he'd tag along all the thief could do was groan, scuffing his shoe on the pavement angrily.

Of all the people present right now Asha was not the best person to be trying to talk to him. They had only just met not an hour ago and she still hardly knew a thing about him, so what right did she have? Annoyed as he wanted to be with her she was rather nice, almost overbearingly so, and he couldn't find it in himself to snap at her as he had the others. "I don't know... You don't exact trust a ton of people in my line of work to begin with," Katsu responded, sighing as he folded his arms over his chest, "I've got a few people who I know would never stab me in the back though, and that's all I need. I can make due with only a handful." There were about four members of his gang who he trusted irrevocably, and he could head to one of the safe houses with them until this mess blew over.

"Excitement? Right... This is an absolute blast," Katsu grumbled, frowning as he looked over at Siku. This was all her doing, everything would be totally fine if he'd just not been stopped earlier by her. "So then, princess, what are we doing? I'd make the decision but evidently I lost all my autonomy when I ran into you." He was going to try getting to the hideout regardless of what they decided here, just to let those few know what was going on. He wouldn't say he was the Avatar of course, but he'd let them know he was going into hiding for a bit. "And look, I have to go to my hideout, I've got to let everyone know and grab some stuff. Come if you have to, but we're going there."
Just had to redo it, Caelan is back :p
Name: Caelan

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Age: 17

Race: Human

Skills:

  • Trap expert: From his days spent as a treasure hunter, Caelan has intimate knowledge of the more common traps. He can disable, dismantle or repurpose much of what he comes across in dungeons.
  • Navigator: Traveling alone most of the time required knowing how to get around, and after some painstaking trial and error Caelan's got it down. He is handy at finding which direction to head in and is good at using stars as a map.
  • Forager: A good number of edible and otherwise useful plants exist in the world, all you need to know is where to look. Whether its for medicinal purposes or for a quick meal, Caelan is decent at digging up what he might need.

Magic Abilities: Water magic, which normally is used in the form of ice magic.

Weapons: Magestone gauntlet. A crystal embedded in this gauntlet helps Caelan channel his magic, increasing the potency of attack spells. He has learned to form a blade of ice on the gauntlet to use during combat.

Inventory: Two blue potions, bottomless waterskin (given to him by Demoko).

Bio: Caelan was born and raised in Clock Town, being raised in a fairly average life. He had parents who cared for him, friends that he liked well enough and life overall was easy and simple. Were he any less adventurous he might have been content to stay there, lead an easy life and work in the shop that his family owned, but that was hardly the case. Even from a young age Caelan had a habit of wandering about, going to the furthest reaches of the town and exploring much to the chagrin of his parents. He has a natural curiosity, one that can only be sated by exploring and experiencing new things. When he grew older his excursions graduated from simply wandering around Clock Town to traveling outside of it, at times going a fair ways away. He always came back home after these trips, but the more that he saw of the world the more he longed for. It was only inevitable then that at 13 years old he would go on a trip outside of town and not return, having decided to go on a journey for himself.

Being young as he was, Caelan hardly put any thought into what he was doing. He didn't know where he might go, what he might do for a living or how he'd get what he needed to survive. What little food he brought with him ran out quickly, and for the first week and a half he spent a great deal of time hungry and unable to sleep. He would get a lucky break, or perhaps unlucky, when a group of treasure hunters found him in a nearby town and offered to bring him with them. What he assumed to be an act of benevolence turned into a rather nasty situation as he was taken into dungeons with them, sent ahead to scout for traps and any monsters lurking inside. When your back is forced against the wall you learn pretty quickly, and in a few months time Caelan began to learn the ins and outs of treasure hunting, as well as the dangers that came with it.

Though the work was dangerous and the team he worked with hardly the kindest he loved what he did, enjoying the thrill of it; bringing home a good few hundred Rupees every outing didn't hurt either, though most of that went to the group's coffers. For about a year and a half he traveled with these people, making a living off of raiding tombs and caves, selling whatever they found in the process. After a while of seeing his profits dwindle to next to nothing however Caelan became fed up, and now having the skills needed to survive up and left one morning. That was two years ago now, and he has become a successful, solo treasure hunter. He would occasionally team up with others, but the desire to turn a big profit and keep it for himself usually kept him from relying on partners. He's still looking for that excitement in his life however, and he's waiting on the one big haul that might satisfy his craving to explore.
Oh sure, just tell everyone I lost it Dx
Ooooh, I hope I still have Caelan's CS :o
The combination of Siku messing up his escape, these creeps attacking him and being covered in sewage had Katsu all kinds of agitated right now. All he had wanted to do was go home after today, sell his latest steal and have some dinner with the guys. Instead he was down here in the sewers, crawling around like a rat and fighting with the White Lotus. Honestly, he'd just as soon have taken off if he wasn't sure they would attack Siku too, damn him for having a conscience. The fight between himself and the cronies of the White Lotus didn't last long, and within moments all three men were laying out unconscious from their duel; Katsu reeked of sewage, was hungry still, and now he had a bumbling Water Bender to contend with as well.

"Oh, NOW you believe me?" Katsu asked, his annoyance plain in his tone as he looked at Siku, "Yeah, I Earth Bended, and I'm a Fire Bender. Come on Siku, you're smart, what does that mean, hm?" He'd only just made the big reveal moments before, now it kind of felt lackluster. He couldn't even enjoy having shown the girl up either, he was much too annoyed to. Glancing down at himself he scowled, giving his arms and legs a shake fruitlessly to try and get some of the nasty water off. Damn Water Benders, he'd never had a pleasant interaction with them; back when he was training they were always his least favorite, always soaking him and ruining his clothes! "Hey, how's about you make it up to me and dry me off? I'm kind of dripping who knows what over here."

Just when things seemed to be calming down some another pair of people decided to joint he party. Katsu very nearly got ready to begin fighting again until he saw who it was, both relieved and annoyed at who he saw. Asha was fine, though he really wished she didn't see him down here, covered in someone else's filth. Having that annoying cop down here though was really just another thorn in his side, he was sure Hiresh wouldn't make this any easier. Sure enough the Metal Bender began questioning him about what went on. I don't have to tell him anything... Just lie, say we were attacked and leave it at that, he told himself, forcing a smile as he got ready to start lying to Hiresh's face. Before he could even get a word out edgewise though Siku started up again, telling the others exactly what he'd wanted to keep from them. "Siku! Really?!"

"You might as well go plaster that on a billboard at this point! Or better yet, go ahead and tell your father so the whole world can find out! Hell, we can even go get one of those megaphones, get in the back of a car and go around Republic City screaming 'Hey look, we found the Avatar! Anyone who wants to capture him or kill him come over here!' Jeez!" He just couldn't win today could he? Just one thing after another, and all he'd done was steal a stinking little badge. Seriously, was this all karma for that little theft? Out of annoyance he dug into his pocket and removed said item, reeling back and giving it a toss into the sewers, hearing it clunk off the wall before dropping into the water. "Oh what, you're going to help me now, chief?" Katsu asked incredulously, "Come on, you hate me, why should I expect help from you? Just because I'm the Avatar suddenly I'm not such a bad guy, is that it?" This was exactly why he avoided people finding out, he hated this! He just wanted to be Katsu the thief, not Katsu the runaway Avatar.

In the middle of all the discussion he had kind of forgotten that Asha was present, looking over at the Air Bender surprised when she spoke out. "Air Temple Island? You mean where you guys live as monks or whatever? No way, not happening," Katsu replied, shaking his head, "I'm going back to my hideout, relaxing and waiting for this mess to blow over. You all can go home too, do whatever, just... Don't go telling people who I am, got it?" Giving himself one last shake the thief groaned in annoyance, turning and trying to leave. Now he didn't even have his loot for the day, having thrown it in his fit. They didn't exactly need the money anyways, but it felt like a big waste to just throw it away like that.
As if Takeshi weren't feeling bad enough about his aversion now T'charrl was listing off why he needed the hair too. Things were just fine between them until this stuff came up, he always felt like crap for making his friend upset. Looking at the Kaesstrian apologetically he frowned at the mention of Yumi, having no idea she had spoken to him about it. So she was telling him they didn't like him then? No, that didn't sound like her, but she'd said something to that effect. Great, now he was going to have to argue against her word too! Sighing to himself he looked over to Shu, even further upset hearing the little guy expressing his concerns. "I don't know buddy... Maybe Vegeta or his dad can help us with that now though," he offered hopefully, smiling slightly as he looked back at T'charrl. He couldn't well let the guy keep going on thinking he didn't like him or something, but how was he supposed to fix it anyways? There was one way he figured might work, yet doing so was going to take an awful lot of courage on his part.

"I don't hate being near you, honest. I mean I'm near you right now, aren't I?" Takeshi asked lamely, shifting his weight around a bit, "Here, I'll even prove it to you." He was probably going to go in a fit over doing this, but he'd rather have everyone in a decent mood for playing than be all mopey and sad. Stepping in he abruptly placed his arms around T'charrl, hugging his friend as he seemed to pale considerably. Despite himself he went ahead and kept on hugging, arms wrapped around the Kaesstrian for a good solid few seconds before he finally stepped back. His mouth twitched slightly with anxiousness and he was squirming a little, but for the most part Takeshi looked to be keeping it together. "S-See...? Baby steps, that's all. I'm g-getting better at it!" Ooooh, it was all over him wasn't it? Those flakes, what were they even? It was quite the effort not to start brushing himself down, because boy did he want to.

"Right... Let me show you my concern for that potential event," Vegeta responded, turning and resuming preparing the meal. As his father had decided Kiton was not inherently a bad person, and he wasn't going to do what he had just said. Might he end up leaving them once he was able? Perhaps, but he scarcely felt like his life was on the line here. "Which is why I would suggest you consider coming along with us. We wouldn't send you off with nothing, but we can't put you up and provide for you if you leave either. Even if its only temporary that you travel with us, that's fine. We're not ones to turn someone away, regardless of who they are or what their past might look like. Everyone's got skeletons in their closet, I know I certainly do." Hell, he probably had enough to fill a graveyard at this point, yet the others didn't scrutinize him for that. Nor was he labelled by those mistakes, which was nice seeing as he had made plenty. The one person who he actually worried about though was Viral, as his handling of the Beastman had been anything but satisfactory over the years. From friend to something of a nuisance and back, Vegeta didn't know if the damage done could be reversed.

Gathering together the plates and utensils they would need, Vegeta sent Kiton on ahead to pick out a table. The Frost Demon could barely walk on his own but he was going to, what with his helper's hands all full of food. Following close behind he watched as Kiton unevenly moved about, wincing as he nearly fell over the table. "We have a personal history with the King, and a poor one at that," he explained simply, setting down plates on the table before beginning to portion out the food, "Shu and Takeshi are his sons, both of them were forced to work under him for a little over a year. The way Viral is now? That's because of the King too, as is why Yumi looks different than a normal human would. He's made our lives fairly difficult, so we've got a score to settle I suppose." Setting out the last of the meal, Vegeta piled up the empty plates before taking his spot beside Kiton, wasting no time in beginning to help himself to the meal.

"With all due respect Viral, you're hardly a well-concealed assassin in your current state, so I think I would know if you were coming. That being said I suppose you're right, I can't always be prepared. But think about it... Before you were erratic, none of your attacks would have killed me outright. If you did attack me it would be when you're not yourself, and therefore your strikes would be both predictable and far from the single, lethal blow you'd need. Short and sweet, the only time you'll attack is if you lose your mind again, and I can handle you like that." So it seemed that his method hadn't fully alleviated that worry, but at least Viral was now looking at things differently. If his only concern was that he might go rampant and attack then it was easily handled, he just had to be mindful not to spark anything. This session of theirs was also doubling as a conditioning, getting the Beastman used to being around Aito again. Once that became a non-issue then the real work could begin.

"Let me share something with you Viral, if you will. It'll be quick, I promise," Aito said, smiling as he leaned forward in his seat, arms folded across his legs. "I had managed to attain Super Saiyan strength early in my life, and I spent a great deal of my childhood and young adult years unopposed by anyone. Father and grandfather aside there was hardly anyone who could fight me and come out victorious, so I may have been a bit arrogant before. It wasn't until I met someone and began training with them that I finally met my match, on more than one occasion. If I remember right we had fifteen sparring matches in all, and I won eight of them, the other person won seven. Every single one was close too, it wasn't as if either side ever had a gross advantage over the other. I would love to fight with them again when I get the chance, to see if I can put another win under my name, or if he'll manage to tie things between us. Tell me... Any guess who that person might have been?" He didn't say it outright, but the way that Aito was staring at Viral, smiling amused, his expression might as well be saying it. Giving it only a few seconds of silence he let out a chuckle, reaching one hand up and rubbing at his head, "You're sick, it's natural your strength has waned. But you can get to that level again, to someone who I could barely beat. I know what your best is, and I know we can reach it again. All I ask of you is to trust what I say and do as I ask."

Finding the baths had taken a little while, but with some luck Katsu had finally found what he was looking for. Out in the back of the inn were some springs that would more than suit his needs, and as chance would have it they were mostly empty. Good, it was always kind of awkward when you had to bathe with a lot of people. Another issue he noticed he had too upon arriving was, aside from the towel and trunks provided by the inn, he had no change of clothes. In retrospect he probably should have brought some, but he'd perhaps foolishly thought he'd only need to travel to Ru to get the information they needed. Not a total loss, it just meant he had to wash what he had here, and... Wander around in swimming trunks in the mean time.

Tetsuya didn't spend too much time bathing, just enough to rinse himself off and get rid of the stink of sweat from his person. Once he was satisfied and feeling less grimy he climbed out of the spring, drying himself off quickly and gathering up his dirty clothes. Now that he was clean he could definitely tell they were soiled, hopefully they had some washers here or at least a spare robe or two, just anything for him to use for the time being. To ask he was going to have to go out to the main desk unfortunately, and while he did have the towel and trunks on he felt decidedly naked. Before Ru he'd have to try and get another change of clothes, if he remembered that is.

Was there any chance the lobby might be empty? It wasn't overly late but then Tetsuya couldn't see any reason for people to be gathered there right now. As soon as he poked his head around the corner however he saw a sizable crowd gathered, groaning quietly before standing against the wall. Wonderful, he was already embarrassed enough wandering around like this, now there was a group of people to see him. Really it wasn't that he was indecent or anything, it was just weird and he felt a fair bit exposed in more ways than one. Sighing to himself he knew he couldn't well just stand here and wait, who knows how long that might take. Nodding to himself Tetsuya went ahead and walked right on out, trying to ignore everyone else as his cheeks heated up, making a straight line for the counter. "Um... Excuse me? Do you have any robes I can borrow?" he asked, not meeting the innkeeper's gaze as he was too embarrassed, "And er... A place I can wash my clothes?"

"Er... Yes we do, the robes are back at the springs," the innkeeper responded, giving Tetsuya a funny look, "And the laundry room is across the hall from that, didn't you see it on your way out?"

Ah, so that was probably what that big cabinet in the springs had been for, he hadn't wanted to go picking through something that wasn't his. And the door opposite the entrance to the springs... That made sense. Well now he felt like a proper moron for having completely missed that, and standing here buck naked almost didn't help either. "Oh... Right, I guess I sort of walked by it huh?" Tetsuya said sheepishly, smiling as his face reddened further. Not sure what to do now he went to bow to the innkeeper, gasping and having to scramble to hold his towel up, dropping his clothes on the floor in the process. Damn it all, he should just slink back to his room and wait until morning.
Takeshi really didn't want to hurt T'charrl's feelings so he had to come up with a lie. Unfortunately for both of them he wasn't always the quickest when on the spot, and no sooner had he spoken did he cringe internally; a lousy lie wasn't going to fool the Kaesstrian, he was too smart for that. Smiling nervously he was sure enough called out on it, feeling awfully embarrassed and like a lousy friend for trying to deceive the guy. "I mean... I know that, but still... It's kind of long, don't you think?" he asked lamely, quite unwisely trying to stick to his guns. Ouch, now he was getting called out for it as blatantly as could be, he really couldn't deny that. Sighing he shrugged his shoulders, looking away as he rubbed at his neck. "I... I'm not used to it, that's all. And Shu's hair is... Different? They have different feelings. Besides, when he and I first met I didn't much like his hair, or him for that matter, right buddy?" Takeshi asked, looking to his brother for a little help here, "But look at us now. I like you plenty T'charrl, I'm just not used to you yet, that's all. We're still friends, right?"

"We've all recovered since the battle, you haven't. I would be impressed if you managed to kill all of us," Vegeta remarked, sounding somewhat amused. Especially now that his father and mother were present too, that made just another pair that Kiton would have to deal with. "As I've said, we have nothing to gain from turning you in. Nor do we have anything to gain from keeping you here, aside from perhaps another friend. What ultimately becomes of you is your choice though, we're not going to be making you do anything. Just know if you remain here you're likely much safer than if you go off on your own." Given his life prior to all of this Vegeta suppose that a degree of paranoia was only natural. Between having to contend with Kiton's worries and Viral's at the same time however he knew he would get quite exhausted rather fast, so it was a blessing that Aito was back to help out.

At long last the food seemed to be ready, as the fish was beginning to flake apart simply by being moved. Eager to dig in himself Vegeta turned off the heat and removed the pan from the burner, draining a bit of liquid that had run off before placing the skillet aside for the moment. "Let me rephrase what I said earlier... We are not the rebels, but we help them. Our ultimate goal is aligned: to bring down the King and restore peace to the universe. That being said we're free to do as we please, so yes, I suppose you could say we were 'wandering around' when we stole the ship," Vegeta explained, putting the fish onto a decent sized plate as well as the sides he had prepared, "We have plenty of time to talk after a meal though, so how about we focus on eating for the time being? Go find a table, I'll bring the food out and get us set up."

While in truth dealing with Viral and his terrible condition wasn't Aito's ideal way to come back he was still more than happy to do it. There was no way in good conscience that he could just leave the Beastman out to dry so to speak, he wanted and needed to try and help. Having arrived in the library, the first thing Aito figured they should do is make themselves comfortable, or as much so as they could. Chances were it would be nigh impossible for Viral to relax, but being better situated should make talking come a bit easier. Watching as the Beastman struggled to get settled on the couch he smiled sympathetically, wondering if they should go ahead and 'restart his system' so to speak. There was a way to get Viral to change to normal, but doing so would leave him rather drained. For the purposes of this meeting he didn't want Viral being too tired to speak so he would wait, if only a little bit. "So then... Do you still feel poised to kill me at any moment? Or did our little exercise alleviate some of those worries?" he asked, smiling as he took a seat in a chair opposite the Beastman, "Please don't think I was trying to put you down by doing that. I simply wanted to show there's no reason for concern, I can defend myself."
Suto was just glad to have avoided any conflict, he really wasn't in the mood to be fighting right now. After all of the stress of Yari's near-death he couldn't take much else, he needed this party pretty darn badly. It was sort of strange not being the one to kick things off, as it was kind of customary up until now for him to be hemming the clear celebrations. By how he handled himself he guessed this Titus character was the one handling it this time around, and he was doing an alright job of it. Had Suto been planning the party there would be some things different, but overall it wasn't too shabby; the fact that he had somehow managed to get Minerva to show up and play was impressive. She was well known as an excellent musician, and sadly his pockets had never been deep enough to hire her on. That was one thing his parties never had, they usually had to settle for some lesser-names or even NPCs.

The celebration wasn't too shabby, though it might be better if Suto didn't feel like some of the other players were watching them. A lot of people had been angry over what Nero had done, which all things considered wasn't fair at all; if it hadn't been Yari he'd saved then it would be someone else, and the others would still be dead. Realistically there was no way everyone could have been saved, so blaming him for not resurrecting someone else was unfair. In lieu of the sure glares they were getting he did his best to have fun, socializing with some of the familiar faces and helping himself to a fair bit of the food available. There really wasn't much reason to eat here in Sword Art Online, but many players did it simply as a habit more than anything. There was a small hunger pang if you really thought about it, but the reality was they didn't have to eat; Suto had quite the appetite in the real world, so here he tended to eat a lot just out of habit.

After some time had passed Minerva had made her appearance, accompanied by the rest of her band. Suto was far from the kind of person who normally chased girls, but even he had to admit she was awfully beautiful. The fact that she could sing well was an extra perk, and he found himself watching Minerva more than the rest of the show during her performance. Wondering what they might play next Suto was taken aback a bit when they were brought to the front of the crowd, feeling his face heat up slightly at the thought of facing the musician. Oh crap, what should he say? Standing a bit behind Nero and Titus he smiled sheepishly, watching as she came down to greet them. Seeing their new friend kiss her hand made him squirm slightly, wondering how well they might know one another. They only seemed to be friends, but then he wasn't exactly an expert at relationships; Fitch and Yari had gotten married and he was totally oblivious, and if he missed that he doubted he could pick up on two strangers. Huh... So Titus hadn't started this party after all, so then who did? He'd been the one to start them usually so it was a bit confusing, he'd have to find out who the person was before they left.

"Oh, uh... N-Nice to meet you too!" Suto responded, hardly realizing he was being spoken to. Bowing politely he looked back up at Minerva, a shy smile on his lips as he stood upright and rubbed the back of his neck, "Well... I think you're a pretty incredible musician, and I'd agree with Titus actually, you're definitely pretty," he added, shifting his weight around on his feet. He wasn't exactly alien to speaking to girls or being around them, as he spent an awful lot of time with Yari; when it came to trying to sweeten up to a girl though he always became a meek mess. "And it's a good thing you're rare... I mean, it wouldn't be so special if there were a ton of you, I mean you wouldn't be so special," Suto said quickly, his face reddening further before he looked away, embarrassed as he rubbed at his neck again.

Off to the side the sound of laughter echoed in the crowd, with a few annoyed shouts following suit. Over the heads of some of the shorter attendees a red mess of hair could be seen, swaying to and fro unevenly as the person walked through the crowd. Cress was certainly enjoying himself, as his rosy face and the mug in hand could attest. After accidentally knocking into a girl and inadvertently grabbing her chest to steady himself the redhead was promptly laid out on his rear, having been pushed over by the girl's jealous boyfriend.

"Hey idiot, watch where you're going! And hands off!" the player snapped possessively, putting his arm around the girl as he glared at Cress.

Blinking in confusion Cress looked up at the pair then down at his hand, trying to put two and two together. When he finally connected the dots his face reddened even further, gawking before quickly getting onto his knees. "Oh I'm sorry! I didn't mean to, I swear!" he said hastily, beginning to boy at a rapid pace, "Sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry!"

Behind Cress, Asari and Yato stood on and watched, staring down at their companion dumbfounded. Neither of them had anything to drink and for good reason, as a crowd of players was hardly a place to get wasted. That hadn't stopped Cress though and he was making a huge scene because of it; even if he wasn't drunk Cress would find a way to cause problems, but the drink certainly didn't help.
