I hardly get paid xD That server life doe. ;-;

I've two other people lined up, one who's been rather absent these last few days and someone who's "new" to roleplaying, and by that I mean they've not done it in a while. At the very minimum we're looking for 4 people to start, plus there's more details we want to get sorted.
Ireland? :o That sounds fun! And I can't imagine being unemployed, I'd be so bored. Albeit I am employed it's for a less than stellar place, and my boss is... Well she's a bitch xD So sometimes I wonder if I should just quit.

Also, there's a new roleplay that myself and some others are trying out, there's about 5 people planned for it currently. If you're interested and want to take a look it's called "Adelon"

Still very much a WIP, but we're getting there :3
Watson dared not even attempt to try and undermine Holmes' attention to detail in the sewers, leaving that scrutiny up to the detective. Rather than pour over the dimly lit corridors for clues he kept an ear out for would be travelers, not having any inkling of who else might be traveling beneath the roads of London. As chance would have it they encountered no one in their journey through the sewers, and upon surfacing some several minutes away he was relieved to say it didn't appear as though they had any trouble on their hands. Helping his companions up and out of the sewers, Watson carefully slid the lid back onto the manhole and pulled a handkerchief from his pockets, wiping his hands clean before tucking it away again. This was certainly an unsavory neck of the city, where the poor and destitute seemed to call home and all of the seedy individuals made their business known. Prostitutes and peddlers, pickpockets and muggers, Watson would be hard pressed to say he would ever wish to be here any other time than now. Such a lovely job this was turning out to be, though he'd not be dissuaded by some off-putting odors below and some shady looking individuals here. No, they had a job to do and come Hell or high water he'd see it through.

While Holmes and Mary spoke, Watson made it a point to watch those around them, not quite attempting to even do so candidly. No matter how he may try to play it off it was obvious that their group, well dressed as they were, did not belong in this place. It would be a futile effort then to even try and conceal their intentions, which while somewhat of a blessing was also a curse; If someone like them were spotted prowling in such a poor neighborhood then it couldn't mean anything good, and chances were behaviors would change and any illicit activity going on would cease, if only temporarily. Aside from the few stares that Watson got back they were mostly paid no mind, yet he knew their presence was plenty well known. Noting the sidearm securely tucked away in the holster beneath his coat he frowned, wondering what the chances might be of their asking around here for information. No doubt it would come at a cost, and knowing Holmes it would be from the doctor's pocket, but any price was a small one to pay to ensure they found Charlie.

As things stood they would be going to meet another woman it seemed, an acquaintance of Mary's. Then again they may not even be able to call this Martha that much, as it sounded more like she was a friend of a friend. When you entrusted things to those who you truly did not know, Watson reflected, there was greater chance for something to go awry. Not that he was being cynical and accusing Martha of any foul play, but not being in the "know" as it were could lead to letting something slip, and God knows they had seen plenty of mishaps come about as a result of loose lips. He loathed to think that some poor soul would have led to a child's abduction simply by speaking of them, albeit when compared to the other potential causes having someone let something slip was far from the worst. With Holmes and Mary taking the lead, Irene close behind, Watson took the rear of their group, lowering the brim of his cap slightly as they moved along. The chances of word spreading about a few "stiffs" looking around would no doubt spread, and he was certain that it would inevitably reach the perpetrator of these abductions as well. If that were the case then time would be very much of the essence, as knowing that authorities may be closing in could prompt the abductors to kill their quarry, something they were trying to prevent from happening.

For a moment Watson wondered what it was that Holmes seemed to be curious about, noting the vaguely perplexed look on his friend's face, if for the briefest of seconds. Not a second after he had seen that did a woman's cry ring out, and promptly thereafter did the source of the grief stumble out of a home, looking incredibly disturbed. Hand habitually going to the grip of his pistol Watson exchanged a glance with Holmes before following him inside, not knowing what to expect. Entering the building Watson quickly picked up on the unmistakable odor of blood, not having noticed it for some reason prior to getting to the door. It took only a second more to spot the source of the stench, his stomach sinking like a rock in a lake at the grisly sight. He had seen numerous murder scenes in his time, but it was always just a little bit harder to take when it was a child. That aside just the condition of the body was purely appalling, and the things done to it...

"Simply disgusting... To think someone would do such a thing," Watson mumbled, frowning as he knelt down on one knee before the corpse. The poor boy, hardly seemed to be older than nine years of age. Turning his head as Holmes threw out a question, the doctor swallowed uncomfortably at having to perform an autopsy on the boy when Martha seemed to be in hysterics, making the connection that this must be her missing boy, Peter. Taking a pair of gloves out from his coat he slipped them on meticulously, reaching out and opening one of the boy's closed eyes, inspecting the vessels and coloration. "Hard to say immediately, but if I had to make a guess..." Watson began, grabbing one of the boy's hands and inspecting his nails, "I would say anywhere from 24 to 48 hours. The skin has begun to discolor and his blood vessels are thinning due to the lack of blood flow. Of course... Given the state of his limbs it's possible he died before then too, as he likely bled out simply from the crude work. It's like someone just took a hacksaw to the boy and chopped the parts off..." Repulsive, simply repulsive. Given how the skin was shredded and how hastily the sewing looked to be done it was obvious this was done in haste, either that or with lack of care. The latter was perfectly probably given the fact the deed was even carried out.

"I don't know if I can apply reason to such a disgusting act honestly, but if I had to make a try of it," Watson began, sighing as he looked up at Holmes, "It almost seems like it was done to provoke something. It would be one thing if the body was returned here after he was killed, but given the mutilations it was like there was an ulterior motive to bringing him back. Obviously we can't ask this moment, but we should see if Martha has upset anyone recently. Either that or if Peter has gotten into trouble... It almost seems like someone went over the top with this killing to send her a message, but what for? And if these are the same monsters that took Charlie..." He didn't have to finish that statement, Holmes would no doubt already be thinking the same thing. If these were the kinds of people they were working against then the situation did not bode well for Mary's young ward.
Kiton was kind of being a pain ass about his ship, caring that he lost it over getting away alive. Seriously, who cared if you lost some of your things? He had a ship to live in now, he had food, and if he played his cards right he even had friends, that was more than he could say before. He couldn't understand the problem the Frost Demon was having, to him it seemed like a sweet deal that he was in, considering where had been. Knowing full well anything he'd say at this point was only bound to cause a fight between them he kept silent, shrugging his shoulders and looking away for a moment. "We're doing exactly that, it's like we said," Takeshi explained plainly, looking back at Kiton before biting his lip, "And... Helping Viral, I guess, we did kind of leave that out. We've been busy, we can't exactly go to every planet and tell people 'Oh yeah, there's these smoke monsters, and you've gotta kill them this way and that way', ya know?" What Kiton was saying just wasn't practical, and it made more sense for the rebels to do it anyways; rebel bases littered the galaxy now, relaying information was a simple matter of making a call, where they would have to physically go everywhere. "Like we said before too, the rebels aren't touching you. If you're with us then you're cool, that's all there is to it. So don't worry, yeah? You're not going to be charged or any of that crap."

Aito knew full well what Viral's problems were, it didn't take a man of his caliber to see that. But simply telling Viral what they would do and when they would do it did not seem like the way he wished to operate; anything they told him, be it a time to do a treatment or even just a simple suggestion was met with disdain and sometimes even hostility. So what might happen then, one would imagine, if the Beastman could dictate his own treatment? Obviously within reason, he and Vegeta would intervene where needed but they supposed it was fair Viral picked how they help him. "So you want us to address your anxiety and depression first then, is that it?" Aito asked rhetorically, getting confirmation as he smiled, "Splendid! We've already got arrangements for that as well! Plus a building has been prepared for our therapy, which since it will mostly consist of simple talk for the initial sessions we don't need to be in any particular setting. I think you'll find what we chose to be at minimum agreeable." How nice that he should choose therapy before the physical treatment, that worked out quite well. Clasping Viral on the shoulder, Aito turned to Vegeta and smiled, "I'll take him down and help him get settled in, meet you there?" Getting a simple nod, as Vegeta was busy seeing the ship was properly shut down, their father could focus on the Beastman again.

"Come on then big guy, let's see about getting you down to the atrium, hm?" Since being outdoors on this world may not be ideal they might as well be safe, go somewhere that seemed open but still had the comfort of being indoors. Aito couldn't know what the room they had been promised even looked like until they got there, only that it was meant to replicate the feeling of being outdoors. Easing Viral up to his feet, the doctor smiled at his wife and Yumi gratefully for having kept him company. "I'm sorry, but if you two could give us just some time alone, it'd be easier to talk without an audience. We'll let you know as soon as we've finished though." Viral would no doubt have a hard enough time speaking about these things just to him or Vegeta, throwing more people into the mix would only serve to complicate matters. Figuring his son might want to walk on his own, though not sure he had the strength to do so, Aito waved him on and offered out an arm to take for support if need be, not wanting to simply pick up Viral and carry him.

Haku felt kind of useless he wasn't even being allowed to try and help, even if he knew there wasn't much he could do. Everyone else seemed so willing and ready to lend one another a hand, so his being denied kind of felt like he was still just a straggler, not part of the group. Hiding his disappointment behind a small smile he shook his head at T'charrl's remark, rubbing at his arm again. "No, I want to hang out with you. I... Know we got off to a real bad start, but you seem like a cool person, and... I've never really had friends before, so... I figured I'd try." There were probably easier people to befriend than the one he'd tried to kill, but if he could manage to win T'charrl over then he should have no problem with the others. Wanting to leave matters in the alien's hands his shoulders sagged slightly when T'charrl had no clue, having really been banking on having him decide. "Try the flowers...? Sure, we can do that!" Haku agreed, smiling as he nodded his head. He didn't know exactly what was meant by 'try the flowers', but if it was something they could do then he was okay with it. "I saw a lot of woods near the city, should we head there and look around?"

It looked like everyone was getting ready to move out, though Takeshi didn't quite know what everyone was up to. Not that it mattered much as he, Shu and Kiton had their own plans anyways. "Let's get going guys, we've gotta find a place to go train!" he said eagerly, getting all fired up at the prospect of doing so. Chances were he'd not get anything out of this, but if it meant getting to improve Shu's skills and make him a better fighter then he was okay with that; Kiton would probably end up just watching, but if the Frost Demon wanted to come along then he'd have to just deal with it. Ready to get a move on, Takeshi placed a hand on both Shu's and Kiton's backs, pushing them towards the doors as he sent one last glance in Viral's direction. Was he going to be okay with Aito? The guy seemed real nervous around him, but then Vegeta's dad was their best bet at getting him help. Maybe by the time they got back today there'd be some difference in his mood, one could only hope. "Let's go work our asses off, yeah?" he whispered, smirking as he glanced at Shu and Kiton, "If we do we can have fruit afterwards... And fish, lots of fish!"
Races of Adelon

Over the course of centuries, people settled in various locations across Adelon. As magic tends to manifest in various ways based on the environment, different people were exposed to different things, and the result of which led to changes in physiology. Numerous races, from the human-like Mura to the alien-like Divined populate the landscape, with the Mura being by far the most plentiful of them all. Every race is unique in their particular affinity for magic, meaning that one race tends to excel in a certain element above all others.

Magic

As previously stated, the world of Adelon is filled to the brim with natural magic energies. Or rather, it was, as now these energies are beginning to wane. Nonetheless, the properties of magic remain the same even if the quantity has diminished, and utilizing it is still perfectly possible.

For Magi, the use of magic poses a unique problem. Any non-Magi who wishes to use magic can do so through crystals, and there are no side effects; once a crystal is used through it simply shatters and vanishes, not causing any harm to the user whatsoever. To use magic without a crystal requires immense mental and physical ability, as well as discipline and plenty of practice. Mental prowess is needed in order to provoke enough willpower to shape the magic as one sees fit, and physical ability is needed in order to sustain the influx of magic and handle the pressure it places on the body. Over-using magic can prove fatal for young Magi, and even veteran casters are susceptible to illness or death if not careful. Like regular physical fitness, endurance can be built up over time to allow a Magi to cast more often, while also casting stronger spells and feeling less of the effects. It's not easy, but some of the best Magi in Adelon are rumored to be able to cast massive spells without breaking a sweat.

All magic has a yin and a yang aspect to it, with the yin portions being displayed in the chart below.

Like two halves of a whole, every yin magic displayed above has its opposite, as listed below. In most cases it is easiest for a Magi to access their respective yin and yang magic as opposed to reaching outside of their usual pairing.

Fire's yang aspect is Ruin.
Metal's yang aspect is Void.
Earth's yang aspect is Air.
Water's yang aspect is Lightning.
Wood's yang aspect is Frost.

Any element can be used with the proper training, though some races have an easier time with certain elements than others. For instance, Mura, who are aligned to metal, have an easier time of using either metal or void magic compared to the other 8.

Spellcrafting

All but the most experienced Magi are only capable of utilizing any single form of magic. There are various ways to exercise one's power even in only a single element however, so just because a Magi is limited to one type should not imply they are inferior. From imbuing or creating tools with the element, to summon beasts attuned with the selfsame power, spells can have a wide variety of uses. Some magic is even capable of creating materials using the world around them, though this is extremely difficult, as often it requires changing elements. It's not easy to attain this measure of prowess, but any Magi given time can reach that point.

Every spell consumes some degree of energy, and it is pertinent to a Magi to know their limits. Generally speaking, single target, quick attacks such as a firebolt can be used repeatedly, with little wear on the caster. If one is to shapeshift entirely however, or even summon a beast, then things become more difficult. It is also important to remember that if a Magi uses a spell such as a summon they are continually drained so long as the entity exists, so summoners, particularly in young Magi, are quite rare. Generally speaking, the more powerful or potent a spell, the more taxing it is on the caster.

If you can think it, you can cast it. Magic in regards to a Magi is literally the manifestation of their willpower. If they wish to form a weapon then they can, or they can create brilliant strikes with their respective affinity. To this end magic seems near limitless in capability, but there are restrictions. While a Magi can indeed form whatever they please, if their ability falls short then the spell will fail, either just vanishing or exploding in their face, sometimes literally. This circles back to the idea of knowing ones limits, lest their spells backfire.
The World of Adelon

The world of Adelon has a lot going for it, and many terms which may seem unclear at first. Here is a summation of everything you need to know to delve into the world. (This is all WIP!)

The Church of the Ten Saints

At the center of the worship of the Ten is the Church, controlling all matters concerning religion. They are led by the Emissary, a man who allegedly can speak directly with the Saints themselves. Beneath him are the 10 Bishops, one for every major church under their respective deity, and generally holding claim over large portions of land and its people. No church would be complete without its servants, and it is the priests that make up the lowest tier of the hierarchy, yet they still command a considerable amount of respect. The priests act as a liaison both between the Church and the people as well as the Church's military branch. Though the organization serves all of Adelon, its complete body of clergy makes up a very minute percentage of the population, numbering in the hundreds in total.

Up until recently the Church's activities were largely focused on promoting the religious worship of the Ten Saints as well as regulating the trade of magic crystals. With the diminishing trend in regards to worship however they have instead turned their sights to technological endeavors, using their large sums of coin to back promising inventions and trying to expand their influence elsewhere. Currently they do still offer services for those few faithful, but many churches have either been closed down or re-purposed into buildings used for some of the companies they back.

Ten Saints

A total of 10 beings reign over the world of Adelon, known to its people as the Ten Saints. Each of these deities, representing some aspect of the world, are thought to be omnipotent and all-powerful, though their involvement in the mortal realm, if any, is never seen. Each Saint has one element generally associated with them, and as such there tends to be a chief deity associated with each of the races. (WIP)

Suros, the Saint of Ruin.
Associated with decay of nature and the destruction of all things, as well as the Autumn season.

Xalia, the Saint of the Void.
Associated with darkness and the unknown.

Ferra, the Saint of Earth.
Associated with crops, construction and mountains.

Ralthor, the Saint of Fire.
Associated with cleansing, eternal flames and wrath, as well as the Summer season. Cheif deity of the Dimura.

Edos, the Saint of Steel.
Associated with the forge, warfare and machinery. Chief deity of the Mura.

Kedo, the Saint of Air.
Associated with the sky, mystery and fate. Chief deity of the Divined.

Lumiere, the Saint of Lightning.
Associated with storms and the fury of nature.

Oranoak, the Saint of Wood.
Associated with the wilds, plant life and nomadic lifestyle. Chief Saint of the Ydra.

Ginrei, the Saint of Frost.
Associated with the end of the harvest, isolation and the Winter season.

Genrei, the Saint of Water.
Associated with oceans and other large bodies of water, as well as navigation and the Spring season. Chief deity of the Varuna.

Magi

In contrast to the majority of the people of Adelon, Magi are capable of manipulating magic without the need for crystals. Far and few between, their aptitude with magic tends to vary from person to person, and generally a Magi can only really manipulate magic in any one form. Those who have practiced extensively can expand their prowess, but doing so requires a lot of work and natural ability. Some races are more attuned to magic than others, and as such will generally have an easier time learning to use their powers. Though Magi are capable of bypassing the need for crystals their abilities do not come without a price; casting magic freehand is very taxing on both the mind and body. The more an individual does so the better their stamina becomes and the more it can be done, but many a Magi have fallen ill or even died from over-exertion. For this reason extreme caution is stressed for many children, as its easy to overdo it when you're new to the practice.

Machina

An overarching, abstract term used to describe the latest wave of technology. Some of it is powered by magic crystals, others through power cells, these can be anything from simple appliances to machinery or even weapons. The materials that these devices are crafted from vary almost as widely as do their uses; synthetic fibers hard as steel, refined metals and carbonized cloth. Plenty of companies have begun dealing in this manner of trade, but only a handful have risen to prominence, with each holding a firm grasp over their respective fields.
Adelon, a world dominated both by magic and technology. Until recently the lifestyles of its inhabitants was a fairly simple one, as magic was the primary way of life for many. Through worship of the 10 gods, known to their worshipers as Saints, magic was given unto the world for the people's faith, and the magic in turn could be used for virtually anything. Guided by the Church of the Ten Saints, people performed daily rituals or worship in order to provide power to their Gods, and in turn able to enjoy the fruit of their labors in the form of magic crystals. Created by the Church, these crystals are physical manifestations of everyone's worships, their hopes and dreams. Though modern commodities like electricity and running water exist, magic still made life easier. It could heal ailments, repair damage, the possibilities were endless. And as long as the people of Adelon continued to use magic and pray the Church would profit, and for many years magic was the predominate means of business for the Church. As it tends to however time changes all things, and soon technology began to develop at rapid paces. More energy efficient means of powering homes were discovered, efficiency in many commodities were introduced and soon the need for magic to make life simpler began to diminish. In two decades time technology had not only overtaken magic, but nearly drowned it out completely. With no need for it worship faltered, and the world's energies began to wane.

Seeing their claim on magic disappearing, the Church had a decision to make. They could either try to convince the populace that magic was still very much needed, or embrace the new surge of technology and throw magic to the wayside. Knowing full well the latter couldn't be allowed, as magic was needed to maintain the world itself, they continued their worship, albeit in much smaller quantities than before. Now, the Church concerns itself with nearly all matters involving technology, having some say or at the very least influence in its development. They operate on a double agenda; preserve magic just enough to maintain the world's balance, but promote technology in order to profit. For the most part, the general population is accepting of this change in dynamic and accepting of the Church's role in it. After all, technology is the newest, greatest thing, why shouldn't they embrace it? And the Church led them before, it only makes sense to follow them now. While near 97 percent of the populace welcomed the change, there were those who couldn't, whether out of sheer stubbornness or inability to adapt. This minority, making up hardly 3 percent of the population, are known as Magi.

The Church sold its crystals so that they could profit, this much is true. However, the reason for creating the crystals in the first place is simple; normal beings cannot manipulate magic. Magic itself is ethereal, never tangible and without knowledge cannot be used in any way. By focusing magic one can solidify it into gems and crystals, and it was by doing this that the Church made its living. The small portion of those who did not need the crystals, known simply as Magi, have a natural affinity for magic. For reasons not known to most they are able to pull magic from the world around them, using it in ways suited to their natural talent. Though these individuals could prove to be dangerous there was never any reason to fear them, as magic was plentiful and their lives peaceful. So long as they caused no trouble the Church did no harm and respected their natural talent, allowing to them to live as they pleased. When technology began to take priority in life however the overall magic pools in Adelon began to diminish, and so too did the magic that Magi could draw upon. Knowing that the Church could and did control the flow of magic some Magi grew furious, blaming the Church for what had happened. With their very existence threatened they did the only thing they could, fight.

Were the advancements in technology not so great, it is possible that the Magi would have won the battles. However, perhaps foreseeing the conflict the Church had prepared itself, developing weaponry capable of harnessing magic and combating the Magi. While the Magi had the advantage of natural talent the Church, in cooperation with the government, had the advantage of numbers. Inevitably quantity won out, and the Magi who raised arms against the Church were killed. Seeking to prevent further action, the Church began seeking out any and all people who were capable of using magic, killing them without question. Those who were smart joined the Church in their conquest, selling their souls as it were in order to survive and gain access to the stores of magic they possessed. The witch hunt for Magi continues, and slowly but surely the surviving members of this minority are being weeded out.

So, that's our world in a nutshell! Essentially the story for us boils down to our characters, all Magi, are trying to find out why it is that magic is drying up in the world. They know religion isn't the priority any longer, but there should still be more if it out in nature than there currently is. Our mission is a simple one; discover where all the magic is going and try and bring it back into the world proper. How we do this and how we go about it is up to us, but rest assured, however we decide to do things it's not going to be easy. With that out of the way let's get into the fun stuff!
"Yeah? Well we nearly died saving you, a total stranger. Look, you're alive, so who cares what happened to the ship? Just get a new one or stick with us, it's not like losing a ship is the end of the world." A ship was just a thing, they could be rebuilt or a totally new one could be bought, but dead was dead. Then again, Dragonballs could sort of undo all of that... No, that didn't make death meaningless. Kiton could be pissed all he wanted about losing the fight, but Takeshi couldn't care less about the ship itself. Finishing his illustrations to show the Frost Demon what he was getting at, the Saiyan frowned when the issue of sharing those news was brought up. "Don't you think we wanna tell everyone? It's not like we want to sit on that information and let people get hurt, you know?" he asked rhetorically, folding his arms over his chest, "We're running around all the time doing crap, you can't expect us to be playing messenger too. Besides, the rebels know it and they have a way easier time talking with people, so I guess we just figured leave it to them, we'll do our own thing."

Aito hoped he wasn't interrupting anything particularly important by coming over, but it was crucial they get moving. At the very least he wanted to get their equipment and Viral settled in today, they could always wait until tomorrow to actually begin his treatments. Giving June a kiss he then urged the Beastman to get ready to move, hoping Viral wasn't too against the idea of their going right away. "Oh... Well I suppose it's only fair I tell you then, isn't it? I really haven't disclosed anything have I?" he mused, smiling apologetically, "It's quite simple really. We're going to continue your dosage of the serum to keep you from changing while also introducing another medicine to help stabilize your hormones more permanently. That will be my job anyways, and Vegeta will be seeing to your physical therapy. It's our hope that those two will be the quickest of your treatments, and in completing those your mood will improve. After those are done we'll focus on helping you with the stress and anxiety aspects of your ailment, unless of course you would rather we tackle those first?" The order in which they tackled Viral's problems could be completely up to his discretion, what they were proposing was simply what they thought to be the most pressing; being depressed certainly was not fun, but with people monitoring your behavior depression wouldn't cause you physical harm, not like potential warping and mutations might.

"Oh... Well yeah, I guess that makes sense. I mean, I'm not really trained or anything to help with that sort of thing, right?" Haku asked, smiling slightly as he rubbed at his head, "Sorry... Uh... We can still hang out though, right? You're completely clear and all, I won't ask about it again." He hoped that didn't ruin their chances of hanging out, he wasn't sure who else to go to otherwise. The Princes seemed to be busy with Kiton, and he didn't know if they would welcome another person or not. Worst case he could try and spend time with the twins, having somewhat struck it off with Kai over his cooking lessons. Then again that could be it, and trying to do something outside of the kitchen may come across as annoying. Wringing his hands together again Haku glanced in the way of Viral and the others, wondering how he was doing now that they were doing work with him. Would Vegeta and his dad help T'charrl when they were done? "Uh... Is there anything you'd want to do while we're out? If we're hanging out?"
But talking is so much wooooork! ;-;
