No one uttered so much as a word as T'charrl began his work. Everyone was rather curious as to how the process worked, or perhaps in Viral's case was simply to disinterested to even care. Whatever the case they all stood by silently, letting the Prince do his work. Uncertain as to what was happening there was a unanimous "Ooooh" as the blue flames erupted from the ground, certainly not something any of them had witnessed before. It was strange, there was no heat from the fire yet it was most certainly real. What's more, T'charrl looked to be in control of the flame. Now there was something none of them had a claim to, that was a power all to the Kaesstrian and him alone. It couldn't be helped, as he worked they began to draw a bit closer to him, each person curious to get a look at just what was going on. Their surprise was rather vivid when the flames were displaced, only to be turned into what could only be described as literally a window to the other world. Somehow he'd opened up a rift between the living and the dead, and they were getting a good look at some kind of little planet. Not a single one of them was too sure of just what it was they were looking at, until a vaguely familiar pale blue figure suddenly appeared in the image.

"Hey! Just who the heck is spying on me at my home!?" King Kai snapped, bursting onto the screen with hands balled into fists, a flustered look on his face. He could see the rift after it had formed as well, appearing as a gateway of sorts between them. Seeing who was on the other side he calmed down slightly, blinking behind his glasses in surprise before raising his eyebrows in clear shock. "A Kaesstrian...? And is that... IT IS! You're all alive!"

Takeshi smiled meekly from behind T'charrl, giving a half wave as King Kai noticed them all. "Yeah, and you're dead, captain obvious," he retorted, chuckling a bit. "Sorry to barge in on you like this, but we were hoping to ask you a favor, if it's okay. We're kind of in a pickle here and could use Goku's help again, if you don't mind getting him for us. He's supposed to be around there somewhere apparently but we can't find him."

"Goku...?" King Kai repeated, lowering one arm as he scratched at his head. "No... He's not here, not now anyways. He had just gone out to run snake way again, though I don't know why. Even dead that man has too much energy, it's mind boggling. He went out a while ago though so he should be back fairly soon." He'd taken his sons with him for a little jog, albeit their jog was several, several times faster than what one might expect. In fact the Kai was a tad surprised they hadn't returned yet. No doubt somewhere along the way they had found food, there was no other reason that they'd have been delayed on such a short journey. "What is it exactly you all need help with?"

"We're trying to help these three get their parents away from the king," Vegeta explained, poking his head into the frame. Right as he did so King Kai seemed to be very surprised, and then nervous for some reason. Not sure as to why that was the Saiyan's brow furrowed, looking at his friends then back at the screen curiously. "Erm... Is everything alright? I don't like that look you're giving me..."

King Kai looked at Vegeta Jr again, biting his lip and looking around himself as though he was checking for something. Oh now this was going to be an awkward moment if he showed up, definitely awkward. He hadn't seen this boy yet, or at all for that matter, and would no doubt be curious. How would he take it if he learned that the boy was more of a tech geek than a warrior? Squirming a bit in his spot he glanced off screen for a moment, sighing before giving a meek smile and shaking his head.

"N-No reason, no reason at all! Uhm... Well if you all can stay on the line then Goku should be back any moment, like I said. If you don't mind me asking, I've got a question for you..." King Kai looked directly at T'charrl, putting a hand on his chin as he leaned forward, studying the Kaesstrian carefully. "Hm... No doubt about it. Young man, how did you do this? I haven't seen anyone from your world do this in... Oh, it's been a long while, I don't know exactly how long. Where did you learn to do this?"
Tora was finding more delight in this partnership than he perhaps should be. The reason for his jabs was purely to incite a reaction, and they seemed to be doing just that. Even by not speaking to him he could tell he was having some effect on her. What a joy it was, being able to tease people like this. He couldn't quite wait to see if they had another class, if she was so easily bothered by a measly few words. Granted they weren't likely going to be so close next time, but maybe he could still find a means to toy with her. His antics were going to be necessary this class anyways now that he had found out how tear-jerkingly dull the lesson truly was. Basic, basic chemistry, something you could test in a kitchen if you really wanted to. Nothing worth getting excited over, he lamented, half-heartedly carrying out his assigned task. Solution A into Solution B made this happen, and then you wrote down what this was, it didn't get much more straightforward than that. Tora had initially no problems with doing the work on his own, figuring that he'd have it done in no time. The actual work was proving to be so menial that he couldn't be bothered to do it all, and eventually had to relent and push it onto his partner. Whether she wanted to do it or not she was going to, thanks to some help from the instructor.

Holding the beaker out to the girl he smirked as she snatched it from his hand, letting out a breathy chuckle. How cute, she even recycled his little snip from earlier too. Poor girl didn't realize just how frequently he did this, he loved getting under people's skins. Seeing their reactions was the best thing in the world, it brought him quite a bit of joy. Of course, the opposite could be said as well when it came to how he behaved when provoked. Tora was all smiles and games when he was pushing buttons and calling the shots, he'd be on a high then. As soon as tables were turned and he was the one being targeted he quickly became hostile, and not in a mildly annoyed way either. It took a fair amount to get him there though, and this girl was most certainly not capable of doing it to him. At most she was amusing, and at her very worst just boring. With no other means of entertainment right now though he'd take what he could get.

"Oh would you hold my hand...?" Tora asked, grinning as he cocked his head to the side a bit. "A pretty girl like you holding my hand, why, that would just be the best thing ever. Gosh darn, you make me feel special." Smiling as the beaker was shoved into his chest he grabbed it with one hand, lifting it like a glass and making a toasting gesture cheekily. "Cheers?"

After copying down his partner's notes Tora went about doing the next step, grabbing the two ingredients on the list he needed. What a painfully repetitive task this was, just pour, write, rinse and repeat. At least he was having some fun doing it. The girl he was with was proving to be all sorts of delightful, and not just in how she behaved. Really she wasn't bad looking, as he'd thought already, and her attitude kind of made her even more attractive. Plus, she had a nice voice, even if a little bitchy. He almost wanted to prompt her to argue with him just to hear it, though it was hard to do much of anything in the middle of the class. Humming softly under his breath some indistinct tune he began to pour the two liquids in again, creating the oh so underwhelming reaction that they were looking for. It bubbled and hissed again, and to no one's intrigue the contents turned an off-brass color from the reaction. Resisting the urge to write down fecal water in his notes he did it as was expected, carefully dumping the contents into the sink before giving the beaker a good rinsing.

"Nice chicken scratch handwriting, by the way," Tora teased, placing the beaker before his partner again. "Gotta say, this school kind of sucks. I didn't know what to expect coming here, but I had definitely hoped for a little more than this. I mean seriously, half the students seem borderline retarded, and the teachers are incapable of doing anything but talking out their asses." This was all said under his breath as Mr. Gervais was only three tables over, though he made no effort to hide the smirk he was wearing. "I can see why you're so damn bitter being here. Then again, you could just have a stick up your butt too, I don't know."

Tora was already finding it difficult to play the good little student as was intended. There was absolutely no investment on his part to be a good student anyways, he didn't need this education. Frankly he'd sooner do away with this absurd ruse, if it wasn't the only means of completing his job. Getting into the school not as a student and searching through everyone inside for his target may be a tad difficult otherwise, and would most certainly attract unwanted attention. This was the safest bet, albeit the most mind-numbing and painstaking way of going about it. Not even a full day in and already he was beginning to second guess the plan, but he'd not deviate from it. Not unless he wanted his rear handed to him on a platter when he went back home. His own teacher, the only teacher he actually respected to a degree, would go ballistic if he messed this up. Not to mention how bad it would be for everyone if he screwed up. It was a fair bit of pressure on him, with that in mind, and being a dick and joking around had a certain way of alleviating some of that concern. Until he was actually done however it would be constantly nagging him.
"Nah, it's not selfish." Takeshi said, waving a hand dismissively. "And it's only your duty if you want it to be. I mean... It's great that you want to help and all, but don't feel like you have to help us. It should be your choice, not an obligation." Putting a hand on his hip he held a finger up to T'charrl, giving the Kaesstrian a stern look. "I mean it, don't feel like you have to do things for us. I know enough about friends to know that if they're demanding things from you constantly they're not your friend. We're never going to keep putting you on the spot to lend us a hand, so if someone else does just keep that in mind, okay?"

Yumi nodded her head in agreement with Shu, thinking exactly along his line of thought. It would be very nice to go home again, but there were a lot of people still in a bad way. When they had the power to help someone they couldn't well in good conscience just up and leave, it felt like they were abandoning everyone else. Maybe it was a ridiculous task they were assigning themselves, trying to help the other races under Saiyan rule. Who knows how many people there were, and how far and wide the empire's influence stretched. Plus, they could easily say that the rebellion was doing just that and let them handle it, head home and forget the whole thing. The way that the rebels acted though made Yumi reluctant to leave it all up to them, especially with how vindictive Korian could be. So long as Sayomi kept him in check things ought to be okay, but being around to see things go smoothly for themselves definitely took the edge off. So home would have to wait a while longer, there were more people to save. Besides, she was rather eager to try getting into a real fight, curious to see what she could do now. And if along the way she got to bop one or two of the creeps who did this to her then all the better.

Takeshi and T'charrl's arrival signaled the beginning of their rescuing the Saiyan's parents, and the excitement in the room was palpable. Kai and Choi near jumped out of their skins at the word, and together the group exited the house, piling out into the back yard to get settled in. No one save T'charrl was quite certain how this was going to work, as they couldn't well do something like this themselves. Soon enough they'd have their answer, and their parents. Kabocha stood with the twins, an earnest and nervous smile on his face as he clasped his hands behind his back. So this was it, they were saving their parents. With this act of defiance before the king they would be permanently severing their ties with the kingdom and be on their own at last. Well, not quite on their own. They had to find their families a place to stay first of all, which was easier said than done. Once that was taken care of somehow Kabocha had a feeling they'd be staying with their former leader and the others for some time yet. If they were going to take the fight to Yamate then he'd certainly not miss out on taking down the king.

"That sounds about right. Uh... Don't forget the orange clothes though, he pretty much always wears those," Takeshi pointed out, smiling hopefully. "And don't waste your time looking in Hell, he definitely won't be there. Nah, he's going to be in Heaven somewhere, we're sure of it." There was no where else that Goku would ever be, he was much too good to be in Hell, and he'd had his run on Earth... A few times.
Yay Dayquil <3 Personally I've always had a ton of luck with Alka Seltzer, maybe give that a try?
After a fair awkward lunch they finally were able to get back out into the field and back to training. Thank goodness, Hanta really couldn't take much more of it all. Between Hana's overbearing behavior and Lily's infuriating comments it was hard to enjoy his meal. The former seemed nice enough, and he wouldn't mind training with her some time if they were around again, if she agreed to keep quiet. As skilled as Lily was in combat her attitude made it awfully difficult to want to be anywhere near her. So when it came time to get back to the grind the little team split up, Hanta and Komada resuming their own training as before. Even for being just the first day he was rather pleased with how their chemistry in combat was working out. Switching was a fairly easy thing for them, and they hardly even had to say a single word to do it. While certain he could work with another player just as well there was something nice about this unspoken cohesion that he felt others would lack. If they kept this up he was confident they'd be more than capable of protecting themselves, and if need be others around them. Getting in a few more hours of training was definitely nice, and he sincerely enjoyed fighting at this point. No new skills were learned, but each of them got a level or two out of it, which was better than nothing. As the sun was now beginning to set they opted to call it a day, taking a reprieve beneath a tree before walking back to town.

Hanta watched as a few other players continued to train, noting how each of them battled. There were at least a dozen different weapons being used, each with their own unique set of skills and styles. Despite there only being a handful of abilities players still managed to make things look unique, and that included one-handed sword users. He was especially curious to see what his counterparts could do, trying to pick out any movements or tactics that would better his own swordplay. A silly endeavor maybe, considering everything was handled by the system. But the system wouldn't dodge for you, or help you with any tricks to fool the monster's algorithms, that was all player-side. Nothing fruitful was coming out of his watching, it was the same old tired moves that he himself used. In fact he was fair certain he was more advanced than the others, as there were quite a few things he saw that he'd do differently. Not to stroke his own ego, but Hanta certainly believed he was better than the average player already, and watching the other Clearers, in his own class at least, he felt more positive of that.

Curious as he was called for Hanta roused himself from his idle viewing, looking over to Komada curiously. Hearing her out for a moment he frowned at her words, looking away himself. She had a point, he knew she did, but really didn't want to accept it. While it was selfish to deny her the chance to fight on her own it certainly made him feel more at ease. Realistically he couldn't always be around to help, so it made sense for her to become self-dependent. But that meant stepping back from his self-assigned position as a protector, and that was easier said than done. Komada wouldn't have brought that up if she didn't feel strongly about it though, which meant it was a serious problem with her.

"If you need space you could have just said so," Hanta said, smiling apologetically. Lifting a hand up he rubbed at the back of his head, looking away again. "I don't mean to be overbearing... So, sorry if I am. I'll definitely back off when we train from now on, I promise."
Now it was time to see whether or not those two weeks of training had paid off or not. After grinding through monsters and clearing the field boss, Clearers had finally gathered in Floor One's dungeon. No one was certain what to expect, and as such they moved as one solid team, gradually working their way through the labyrinth in search of the boss room. Inside the creatures were a tad stronger than those outside, but not overly so. It was easy enough for the forward most players to engage whatever they came across, and when they grew tired they would switch out for the next group. In all there were about three waves of Clearers in the dungeon at present, each wave consisting of nearly a dozen people each. Izumo was among the first wave, often leading the charge against the enemies when his team's turn came up. Hanta had to admit, as much as they might not get along he had to be impressed by the boy's bravery and strength. Definitely going to be a staple for Clearers, that one. Hanta himself was included in the second wave, and Komada in the third. He'd been initially adamant about getting her in the same team as him, wanting to keep an eye on her and stay by her side. After some gentle deference on her part and a bit of impatient banter from other players he ultimately relented. She was doing fair well on her own, so maybe he was getting up in arms over nothing after all.

Clearing the floor itself wasn't too difficult, and half of it had already been done the day before. The latter half didn't prove to be any more difficult, and if anything went by more quickly now that they were so organized. Hanta wasn't sure of how much time had passed initially since they entered, but it couldn't have been that long. Soon enough they were stood out against two massive iron doors, the boss room entrance. The sheer scale of them was breathtaking, they towered over the tiny players by comparison. Fairly ornate too, with some curious silver figures adorning the fronts of the doors, and a similar metal trimming the door itself. They seemed much too large for someone to realistically push open, so it was probably a good thing that they were in the game. Having been going non-stop since getting inside everyone had unanimously opted to take a breather. After all, it was the first boss battle of the game. They had a general idea of what to expect, they knew who they were facing and what it could do. A kobold, if memory served, with some basic skills and minions. The battle plan then was for the forward team to fight the boss as the two auxiliary teams dealt with the minions that would no doubt keep coming. The teams would rotate occasionally to keep the fighters as fresh as could be, and given enough time they should be able to win.

"Well... This is it..." Hanta mumbled, sighing as he leaned up against the wall. Do or die, literally. It was the first step in what was undoubtedly going to be a long, tedious climb to the top of the castle, and he wasn't terribly thrilled at that prospect. Here and now though, this was their first real battle, and that was where he had to focus. Head in the game, or whatever it was that people said. He could lament about their inevitably upsetting existence after the fight.

"Pick yourself up... Have a little faith in yourself," Izumo said, admonishing Hanta with a gaze before looking away. "Honestly, you've got to be more confident. We're at the front of the fight right now, and we're fighting to make everyone's lives better. If you were going to act like this then you should have just stayed back. Seriously... Your girlfriend looks to be handling this better than you."

"She's not my girlfriend..." Hanta said testily, frowning as he glared back at Izumo. Seeing the other boy smile triumphantly at getting to him he looked away this time, folding his arms over his chest. "And I'm plenty confident in myself. I'm worried about everyone else, that's all. We've never had a boss fight before now, we don't know how everyone is going to perform. And just knowing about the boss doesn't guarantee we'll be victorious. I'm just being realistic here, that's all. I'm sure we'll win, what i don't know is what will happen before then."
I bet it'll be fine ^^

And hope you start feeling better soon. Colds are so poopy ><
Takeshi wasn't going to touch that one with a ten foot pole. Sure T'charrl looked different now, but he certainly wouldn't say he was something of a failed experiment. That seemed to be a little harsh, especially since he was saying it of himself. A failed experiment oddly enough would be Shu or Viral, in terms of their collars. Or perhaps even Yumi, as her loyalty was never bought and arguably all they did was make a more powerful enemy. Those were definitely failures, but this was just an accident. That would all stay neatly tucked away in the recesses of the Saiyan's mind. If he said a word of any of that there would be a wide range of emotions, least of which would be anger, in the form of Yumi's foot, firmly planted on his arse. Yeah, definitely not something that he wanted. Takeshi couldn't well get the whole fitting in problem either, never having been too terribly concerned with going along with the majority. Even now that he'd lightened up a bit he had little desire to get back to the bustle of their own cities, or be forced to talk to other people. Those with him now were perfectly enough, he'd happily keep it that way if he could.

"You're not causing anyone inconvenience, don't worry about it," he reassured, smiling politely. "Seriously, you're helping us out, we can't expect you to do everything all at once realistically. We know you'll get to it when you can, and that's that. Right?" Takeshi grabbed and pulled open the front door, gesturing for T'charrl to head on in first. When his picture from before was mentioned the Saiyan cringed slightly, his smile becoming more sheepish as he rubbed at the back of his neck. "It wasn't THAT hard to tell what it was... Was it? If you need help then I'll help, or I'm sure someone else can help too. Heck, Shu knows what he looks like too, I don't see why he wouldn't be able to do anything."

Choi and Kai were right, there wasn't reason to worry. Viral was going to do just fine, and they'd get everyone the help they needed soon enough. It was easy to stress about these things, and Yumi found herself doing so quite a bit. It was nice then to have some optimism to counter her worries, definitely a welcome change. The worst of it was behind them, it had to be. Everyone had been put through some kind of torment by now, so it was high time that things started to get better. She'd have to tell herself that from now on, no use in bringing everyone down. Looking to Shu she smiled tenderly, walking over and taking the seat beside him.

"We'll go wherever we want, I'd imagine," Yumi replied, lifting a hand to tap Shu's nose with a fingertip playfully. "I don't know if there will be fruit or not, but we can do whatever we want from now on. We can see all sorts of planets, and explore if we want to. Or we can go back to Earth, eventually. Doesn't the idea of exploring seem exciting?"

Takeshi stopped at the family room when he spotted Kabocha asleep on the couch, a bit surprised that he'd fallen asleep. The boy had never really been one to drift off in the middle of something, he must have been awfully tired then. Well, too bad for him. They had things to do now, he'd have to wait until later to rest. Smiling impishly at T'charrl he put a finger to his lips, walking into the room quietly and over to the sofa. Letting out a chuckle under his breath he reached down, pinching the other Saiyan's nose and holding it. After a brief pause Kabocha snorted, waking abruptly then with a start and flailing his arms in confusion. Takeshi stepped away from the other boy with a laugh, putting his hands up at the angry glance that he was getting. Might as well have some fun with it.

"Easy there, just had to get you up. We're going to get your parents soon, so I figured you'd like to be awake for it."

Kabocha lowered his fists at the mention of his parents, blinking the drowsiness from his eyes before smiling. "Oh...? Well you could have just said so..." he mumbled, lifting his arms up over his head and groaning softly.

Takeshi only shrugged to that, smirking as he gestured for his friend to follow along. His next stop was the kitchen to fetch the others, and he got there just to hear the tail end of a conversation. He didn't know quite what they were going over, but he agreed with the latter part of it. Exploration would be nice, he was curious to see what other worlds and peoples were out there among the stars, just waiting to be discovered. That was a luxury though, and unfortunately not one they could afford right now. There was a fair bit they needed to see to before anything for themselves could be done really, least of which was get Viral some proper help.

"Exploring is going to have to wait..." Takeshi interjected, smiling as he pointed over his shoulder at T'charrl. "Because we're going to save their parents first. If you're all set to go let's head outside and get this done with."

Vegeta sat a little ways away from Viral, having opted to just remain silent after a few failed attempts to strike up conversation. It was painfully clear that they were inept on giving him the kind of care he needed right now, regardless of how much they tried to help it. Their next stop then was going to have to be somewhere that a proper doctor was available, one who knew how to deal with PTSD. It sucked that none of them were able to help it though, especially when for them it was such a personal matter. Sighing to himself the Saiyan lifted his head as the door opened, glancing over to the house to see everyone beginning to file out. Figuring what was going on he smiled a little, putting a hand on the ground and getting to his feet. So they were finally going to take care of this little promise of Takeshi's, good. Once this was done they could get going, and get to real important tasks.

"So you need Goku's appearance then...?" Every had settled around in a small group, T'charrl being at the center of it. Takeshi was trying to provide as best a description of the man in question as he could, but it was a little tricky, hardly being all that articulate when it came to things like this. "Well... He looks like us... And has black, spiky hair, and... He wears orange clothes... Uh..." Giving his head a scratching he looked over at Shu, smiling hopefully. "Anything to add buddy?"
"We can always go into town to see them, if you want to." Takeshi suggested, shrugging before slipping his hands into his pant pockets. "I mean it's not like we're in a hurry to go anywhere once we've got their parents safe. I'm sure no one is going to mind if you see them one last time. And by how your mom sounded... I really doubt she'll be too upset if you come by one last time before we head out." Besides, there were still the logistics of their leaving to work out. It was going to be one heck of a group once the squad's parents were here, over ten people if he counted right. Their ship really wasn't all that big, and what they had for provisions was already kind of getting low. It was best they had some idea then of how they were going to handle their new numbers before they jumped into things. This was one matter Takeshi was positive not to rush blindly into.

"Ready to get back inside? We can see if they're ready to get their parents, provided you're all set to go." Takeshi paused for a moment, biting his lip as he looked down at his feet in thought. They could try talking to his and Shu's mother too, but... T'charrl could only talk to dead people. If it worked then that would mean the worst had come to pass, and they wouldn't really get a chance to be with their mom, ever. It'd bring a kind of closure, he figured, but that wasn't a kind of closure he was prepared for. Shaking the thought free from thought he smiled again, turning and heading towards the house. "Better now than never, right? I bet they're anxious to see their folks again, so no point in keeping them waiting."

Yumi could see to a degree why Choi might be excited. Even if they were still fighting it was now for a different reason, a reason of their choosing. They weren't pawns anymore, and they were doing what they wanted. It wasn't exactly peace, but it was freedom. For the first time in their lives presumably they were being given the chance to do what the pleased, and it only made sense that they might try to undo what their former ruler had wrought. Definitely payback for making their lives miserable, and she really couldn't discourage them from seeking it. The king, in the brief window she'd met him, was an absolutely awful man. She knew plenty about what had been done to the others too to understand that the man was pretty much heartless. The world definitely wasn't black and white, but the difference between them and the Saiyan king was as clear as that. The twins and their friend had opted to trade sides, and now they were fighting for the well-being of others, as opposed to just for themselves. That had to be the most refreshing feeling in the world, and definitely something that Yumi and the others had taken for granted. She couldn't well imagine what it must feel like, but she was definitely happy for them.

"Oh... Oh yeah!" Yumi exclaimed, smiling abashed as her cheeks flushed. "With all that was going on I had completely forgotten, sorry. Yeah, that sounds good to me. I just hope that Viral is feeling okay. He's doing better now, but a lot is relying on him here... And if something goes wrong he'll blame himself. I don't want him feeling any worse than he already is, he doesn't deserve that."

Well, there was a lot of potential for this plan of theirs to go wrong. Yumi really didn't want to think of the negatives, but getting into the bulk of it now there were plenty of chances for things to go awry. Foremost was definitely Viral and his inability to keep himself together to do his part. She couldn't dare say that to him, it'd ruin how he felt already, but it was a very real concern. Who knows what was waiting for them on the ship too. If an Elite was on board they could be in for one heck of a fight, and that fight may cause damage to the ship. A lot of good their little raid would do if their prize was crippled, they'd basically be back at square one. Plus they really couldn't afford to have anyone get hurt in any fights that ensued, and while taking over a ship that big it was almost guaranteed to happen. If it was just regular troops they'd be fine, she had beaten easily two dozen back on Earth. Anything worse, like other Saiyans or Elites, then they'd be in trouble. This line of thinking was bringing her mood down rather quickly, and she didn't like it. Wanting to pep herself up Yumi looked at Choi before smiling meekly, quickly jumping at him and wrapping her arms around his neck in a hug, giggling nervously.

"Everything is going to be okay..." Yumi mumbled, mostly for herself. "No one is going to get hurt, and we'll all make it out safe, I just know we will." Letting go after a second her cheeks flushed again, and a small, meek smile still lingered on her lips. "Sorry about that."
This girl was definitely amusing, if nothing else. Tora found himself smirking while she spoke to him, not exactly finding her behavior to be off putting or threatening. She was like a Chihuahua, all bark and no bite. It was all he could do then to not burst out in laughter as he was given a snappy reply in turn, walking off towards the next class. Science, perhaps the only subject that had any degree of interest for him in this entire school. Of course it wasn't quite the science he had in mind, that was called alchemy after all. Nonetheless it was the same concept, and it gave him a little bit of hope that perhaps this school wasn't going to be as dreadfully dull as he had initially thought. After a rather awkward meet and greet with the teacher of the class he was shown to his seat, the only available lab table. With no partner apparent and class not having yet started he got a moment to become acquainted with the room, and the students therein. A bunch of louts, every one of them. Most of the class were on their cell phones, and the rest were busy talking to one of their neighbors about goodness knows what. No one was invested in this class by the looks of it, and most probably not in their futures either. Seriously, at their ages how could they not be concerned about that? Idiots, the lot of them.

Tora almost couldn't believe who he saw come into the classroom that moment. Again he was grinning in triumph, as it was vividly clear that he bothered this girl for some inexplicable reason. Just as well, he needed some amusement while he was here, otherwise he'd go mental. Watching as she took the seat beside him at the window he propped an elbow on the table, resting his head upon his hand and giving the girl a curious look. She was kind of cute, he was noticing, but then again so were most of the girls here. It was a fair safe bet he'd not want to touch most of the girls here either, they were probably as filthy as a restroom in most cases. Plus, looks aside this one definitely had an attitude to her, one that was actually moderately similar to his. Both sarcastic, both not truly wanting to be here. Oh yes, this class was going to be just grand.

"Oh is that right?" Tora asked, smirking at his partner amused. Shaking his head he sat upright, reaching down over his side and grabbing his book from his back, setting it down on the tabletop. "I hate to break it to you, but you're really not intimidating. It takes a lot more than some snappy behavior to get me running."

Chuckling to himself as the teacher asked for them to be quiet, Tora looked ahead, listening in to the lecture being given. As expected it was going to be a fairly simplistic experiment, combining an acid and a base to see the results. He'd hoped for something a little more in depth, this was child's play comparatively. Still, better than reading some recycled stories, he supposed. Not long after the lecture had begun did the teacher begin to hand out sheets for the students to record their findings. A cursory glance told him that they'd be combining various different acids with a standard base to test the results, and thus record what each one was. Really? He could do this with some kitchen supplies if he really wanted to, it was such a simple-minded test. Rather quickly his hopes of having an enjoyable Chemistry class were dashed, not being faced with a tiresome game of a lesson. Well... Perhaps it was not entirely lost. Tora glanced out of the corner of his eyes at the girl, his lips curling into a mischievous smirk. There was still here to contend with, and annoy, if it befit him. Considering he couldn't care less for this assignment it most definitely fit his needs.

"Do you plan on helping me...? Or are you going to daydream all day?" Tora chuckled under his breath, adjusting the frame of his glasses carefully before grabbing himself a beaker and two of the liquids. "You can just let me do all the work too, of course. I would imagine that you'll only serve to slow me down if you try to help." Hopefully that sparked some sort of flame in the girl, he needed a bit of real enjoyment right about now. With how dreadfully plain this town was proving to be his usual pastimes were well out of the question, as there was simply nowhere to do them. He could always slip off to the woods if he truly wanted to, he supposed. Then again what was there to toy with out here? Squirrels? Perhaps a stray dog? Nothing worth his time, most certainly. That was another fact of this place he was quickly beginning to loathe; unable to fight or even practice, he had to find other means of entertaining himself. What was there though? Television? Video games? He'd tried both since arriving, neither held much of a fascination for him. In hindsight he may indeed be able to fight here, albeit not in the way he hoped. Perhaps he'd have a little fun during lunch.

Regardless of whether his partner opted to help or not, or even acknowledge him, he began to work on the assignment. First the base, then the acid, a bit of each was dumped into the beaker. The process was so menial he could do it without looking, if not for the fact he had to observe what was happening. With a keen eye on the beaker he watched, halfheartedly, as a bit of a reaction occurred and the liquids fizzed, creating bubbles before gradually dying down. Mocking this with a soft gasp and a lackluster "jazz hands" he grabbed a pencil, shaking his head while scrawling down his notes in a practiced, neat script. 'Bubbling, crackling sound, boring'. A very astute observation, if he had to say so himself. With a self-satisfied smile he tucked the pencil behind his ear, again resting his head on his hand as he idly dumped out the beaker's contents into the sink, shaking it to get every last drop out before handing it over to his partner. Lazily gesturing to his paper for her to copy it down he smiled, opting for her to do the next bit.
I was ^^ Figured they ought to interact now and again, and why not early off? :P
