Sending the entirety of its mass hurtling towards Viral the monster would be on him within a few seconds. It needed a meal, it needed the energy, and the Beastman was the easiest bet. With momentum propelling it forward there was no helping things, it had to see this charge through. So when it saw Viral suddenly transform before its eyes, sprouting several more arms with more weapons to boot, there was little that could be done. With a renewed aggression that terrified the beast his prey came directly for him, all of the blades striking down at its already injured body. It was close, oh so close to getting what it needed, and with a final leap it rose up into the air, crashing down towards the Beastman with its mouth agape. Its teeth were but inches from Viral's shoulder, its hot, rancid breath blowing across his torso as it tried to sink its teeth into his flesh. Suddenly stopping in mid air the monster froze, utterly lost as to why it wasn't able to reach the Beastman. Then the pain finally registered, the feeling of several weapons shoved deep into its body, nearly protruding out the opposite end. With one in its upper body, one through its midsection and the final in its neck it wasn't going anywhere. Letting out a soft, gurgling noise that was a pitiful growl its red eyes shifted, looking at Viral astonished. Time to go back to Master, it was done here.

Takeshi watched from the doorway, not wanting to get in the way of Viral's fight. He had to do this for himself, even if he was running on fumes now. Vegeta had recognized that too and let him down to finish things, it was the Beastman's moment to shine. Just for good measure he'd keep himself in the now wide open doorway in case the creature should try to run off. The others in the hangar didn't know what was going on, there was no way they could, Preferably it should be kept that way. Once the monster was on its feet again it the attack resumed, it was intently trained on Viral. In spite of missing a leg it moved fairly quickly, looking fair intimidating as it bore down on the Beastman with its mouth slack and teeth bared. Once it got close enough the monster jumped up, probably hoping to use its massive size to overwhelm Viral and bring him down. To the surprise of everyone Viral had more than a suitable answer to the attack, sprouting his ethereal arms as he had done a few times before. Each hand gripping a blade they thrust forward, easily finding their target. The hard skin did little to protect the creature from the piercing power of the Beastman's attack, and in short three blades struck the monster. For a second it simply hung there, motionless and soundless while propped up on the swords. With one final sorry little growl the monster began to fade into smoke, its body vanishing from the entry wounds out until it was no more. Not quite the end for the beast any of them had expected, what kind of creature turned into smoke?

Well this was certainly odd. Kabocha didn't quite know what to make of the creature vanishing before their eyes, or the strange limbs Viral was now sporting. It was safe to say they were free from the beast now, there wasn't a single trace of it left anywhere. Huh, so much for it being the terror that the engineers had made it out to be. Creepy sure, big yeah, but not powerful at all. Not if the Beastman had beaten it, considering he was pretty out of it himself. Now that the nasty little critter was dead they could commandeer the ship, yeah? And those little tech gremlins had agreed to help them run the vessel, all the better.

"Nice, tore that thing apart!" Takeshi exclaimed, grinning broadly as he walked over to Viral. Lifting a hand to pat him on the back he stopped, looking at the ethereal arms uncertainly and dropping it back at his side. "Jeez those things are handy. Er... No pun intended."

"Har har har. But seriously, nice job Viral, you made easy work of that... Whatever it was." There was a bit of the strength that they all knew Viral had. Given it was hardly what he normally fought with, but they more than got the job done. Vegeta put his hands on his hips as he surveyed the room, checking what little damage had been caused by the brief battle. The floor was scorched where the blasts had collided, the railing was near snapped at the point the beast had collided with it, and now that he saw it there were several deep indentations and cuts along the ceiling where it had been climbing with its talons. Nothing critical though, both the thrusters themselves and the engine and control panel were completely unharmed. It'd fly just well then, that monster had only been an inconvenience.
Vegeta bit back some annoyed comments as Viral struggled to get free, trying to help his friend out. Just a moment to recuperate, that's all this was. It would be nigh impossible to know whether or not the Beastman was truly up to this task, seeing him lock up like that had him worrying an awful lot. If they kept together like this then he could act as the legs, move Viral around and let him get in some good slashes with his blade. Before he could relay his plan there was a sound at the door, drawing everyone's attention over to the engine room's exit. To Vegeta's surprise the doors began to part, and on the other side were Takeshi and his squad, looking properly astonished at the view inside. The monster took notice of the newcomers as well, charging headlong towards Kabocha in a fitful rage. In almost an amusing show the other Saiyan knocked the monster back with one solid punch, sending it tumbling back and finally landing on its back, sprawled out in a daze. That was good, right? It gave them a second to recuperate and figure out how they were going to deal with the monster. Viral apparently thought a second was much too long.

"But... Gah... Fine, you want to fight?" Vegeta asked, giving a frustrated shake of his head. If they didn't give Viral this then he'd be sulking again later, he needed this chance to fight, healthy or not. With the monster vulnerable at the moment it was all the better that he get a chance now. Swooping down then he set his friend on his feet, going immediately for the monster as it was scrambling to its feet. They had to keep it on the defensive, otherwise Viral was liable to get seriously hurt. Once close enough the Saiyan brought a knee up, catching the monster right in the jaw and making it stagger sideways, trying to stay up. Twisting himself around he then brought his leg down on the monster's head, knocking it back onto its stomach with its legs splayed out to its sides. Only then did Vegeta finally back off, watching the monster closely for any signs of danger.

The monster just could not catch a break. Losing a leg, getting nearly knocked out by a Saiyan and now beat down by another, today simply wasn't its day. It couldn't flee though, there was nowhere for it to go other than this ship. With the pang in its stomach increasing gradually it was reminded that this had to work, it had to bring at least one of these people down. Master would not be happy with it if it failed to kill anyone too, and while it would return home it would not return home on a happy note. Beatings, whippings, harsh words, none of these things were particularly enticing. All the more incentive to successfully devour one of these people, or perhaps all. So long as it got a good chunk of flesh its body would repair itself, and if it could sustain the process these fighters would never be able to kill the creature. Finally having a moment to get up it clambered to its remaining feet, facing off against Viral once more. He was the weakest, and he was bleeding. The monster could smell it, this one was the easiest target. That weapon was lethal if it connected, but the man behind it vulnerable, it could do this. Growling hungrily it barreled at the Beastman, simply opening its mouth up wide as it loomed over him, trying to bite down on his shoulder.
This roleplay is still alive, promise! We're just trying to get a date to do some collaborating before I post.
Oh boy did this pizza smell delicious! His diet had gone to hell since coming to this place, but Tora was loving every minute of it. The food here was about as nutritious as a boot, but it tasted absolutely superb. Greasy, covered in cheese and sauce, and a garlic bread crust. He'd have to learn how to make pizza like this, his was always so bland. While he could most certainly cook for himself he typically opted not to, it was time consuming and he was impatient, he'd rather put something in the microwave for five minutes than bake something for fifty. After politely scarfing down his first slice he washed it down with a gulp of his soda, smiling contently as he reached for his second slice. Ah, to hell with acting like he was at home, this wasn't the castle. He wasn't in Elawein, and the Queen wasn't going to berate him for getting a crumb of food out of place. He was among 'normal' people, civilians, he could act as he pleased so long as he was moderately polite. So no belching, passing gas, and no obscenely large bites of food. In the midst of eating his meal he couldn't help but overhear Jocelyn once more, or rather, her thoughts. She was musing about his fascination with her, still utterly confused as to what his draw was. Besides the obvious physical attraction it was his job, not that she could know that. It was fun, watching her toss over trying to solve the mystery.

"Ouch...? Animal control? I'll have you know I'm not a wild animal. I'm potty trained, I don't bark, and I'm great around kids," Tora joked, playing off the insult with a grin. "Won't you keep me then Jocelyn? I make an awesome guard dog." Ah, if only she new the irony of the last bit. Chuckling at his private pun he resumed munching on his pizza, still rather hungry. Three slices ought to hold him over until breakfast, and he could always cook something up when he got home too. Still working through his second he once more was treated to a 'behind the scenes' look at Jocelyn. Jeez, that girl needed to learn to control her telepathy, it was going to land her in some serious trouble one of these days. Of course he couldn't resist listening in, wanting to know exactly what was passing through her mind. He was definitely on the chopping block now, she was beginning to pick apart and scrutinize every bit of his story. Sure, it was definitely suspicious, he wasn't going to deny that. What reason could he possibly have for lying though? Just stick to his guns and you'll be fine, he told himself. When the bit about aliens came up he nearly lost it, snorting as he stopped drinking from his soda quickly and covering his mouth in case he ended up spitting. Seriously, an alien, THAT was her grand deduction? The holes in his story could be explained later, if need be, he'd think up of more information as required. At the present he couldn't be bothered to plot though, nearly losing his supper over Jocelyn's absurd line of thinking.

Hearing the phone go off Tora made no move to try and answer it, excitedly working on his third slice of pizza now. He almost wanted to abscond with a fourth, but Jocelyn had her attention back on him near instantly. Having her aunt on the phone seemed to fluster the Princess something terribly, and the look she gave him hinted that she wanted him gone. Well, she already had wanted him gone, now it was a more pressing matter. At first he didn't understand why until Jocelyn graciously shed some light on the situation for him. So she was worried her aunt was going to think they were an item? He couldn't well figure why she might be worried about that, wasn't it a good thing to be in a relationship? Even someone like him wanted to find partner, even if he'd never outright admit it. Again he drew a similarity between himself and the Princess, even if it might be a shot in the dark. In a way it was a good thing she hadn't found anyone here to her liking. Once she was filled in on the situation she'd be taken home, and coming back here would happen rarely if ever. Maintaining a relationship was hard work, so he heard, let alone a relationship that literally crossed worlds. Once she was back home then she could worry about finding somebody. Then again, figuring how Eslaria operated Jocelyn most likely had some guy waiting for her. That was even more miserable than not having somebody, having to be with someone you couldn't care for. Definitely not a ton of envy in that regard.

After having his fill and exchanging a brief goodbye with Jocelyn Tora was shown out, courtesy of Aidan. He'd opted to walk himself home but the guy would hear none of it, and so he ended up getting a ride home. It wasn't favorable, having someone know where he lived, he'd prefer to stay off the radar. He supposed Aidan was trustworthy though, being Jocelyn's brother and all, at least he could be crossed off the list as a potential threat. Unlike the rest of the day where Tora had been talking near incessantly the ride to his apartment was comparatively silent, only small conversation being had between the boys. Simple questions here and there, with the bits about Jocelyn being more or less innocent in their nature. He still needed to be in good graces in order to come over again, it was the best way to watch over the Princess, so he made a conscious effort to hold off on any crude remarks. Since it was a small town it took hardly ten minutes to get to his home, it would have been even shorter a ride if not for traffic. With farewell pleasantries out of the way Tora went into the apartment complex, a moderately nice place just a few blocks from the local part. His room in particular was down in the basement, tucked off in the back right corner of the structure. About a simple as can be, the main room was both the family room and the bedroom, his queen sized mattress tucked up against the far wall on a hand-me-down condition bedframe. There was a dresser for his clothes, a television and tablebox on top of a low end table, and a sofa to relax in. Aside from that the room was fairly empty. Hanging on the white plastered walls was some painting that he'd gotten upon arriving, a housewarming gift that he hung up for the hell of it. Off through a side door was the kitchen, and beyond that the laundry room and restroom. Slumming it was pretty accurate, though it could definitely be worse.

Taking a look at the clock and reading 7:00 PM he sighed, a little disappointed it wasn't quite time to retire just yet. Tora was tired at this point, having had a busy day getting acquainted with both the school and the Princess. He couldn't sleep yet, not for a few hours more anyways. Jocelyn had to be watched over as often as humanly possible, and until his eyelids began to droop he was capable of protecting her. Time to work, and time to get out of this dorky little getup he had. Taking off his mock glasses he dropped them on the bed, opening up the closet and taking out a duffel bag with his belongings inside. In a few minutes he had changed into a pair of black denim jeans, held up by a brown leather belt, a gray wool shirt, a black button up jacket with a high collar and gray trim and a pair of black fingerless gloves. Tora also slipped a thin corded string over his head, hanging his charm on his neck as he always did. It was a small pendant, two blue and two red gems imbedded in it in a checkered pattern. He didn't know what it was for, or why his mentor had always told him to keep it, but he assumed it was a good luck charm or something. Trading in his sneakers for a pair of boots he was just about ready to go, though he still needed his weapon. At the bottom of the duffel bag, hidden by the clothes was a red cloth container, some three and a half feet in length, barely contained by the bag. A black strap was sewn to the side of the bag, which he readily slung over his right shoulder. Hopefully he didn't need this tonight, but better safe than sorry. Leaving his clothes laid out on the floor he snatched his keyring off the end table, stepping out of the room and locking up. He'd not be back any time soon, probably best to make sure no one could get inside. Slipping the keys into his pocket he hurried to the stairwell and out of the building, taking the side entrance before stepping out onto the sidewalk again. Making sure Aidan was well gone he sighed, inhaling then before starting to jog briskly back in the direction of Jocelyn's house. He'd find a decent place to set up and relax at for a few hours, just until he was positive that she was fine and could be left on her own. Hopefully that didn't take too long.
"Yeah... Good idea..." Should the engines go then this entire ship was going to be nothing than a floating wreck. Given their group size and the amount of supplies they now had it simply wasn't going to work out, they needed the space and resources. Losing the ship wasn't an option, not if they wanted to travel without people trying to eat one another. Damn shame that this ship was as large as it was, unless they were to fly it was going to take a moment to reach the rear where the engines were. They had to keep the pace fair slow, just in case it didn't end up being in the engine room, they didn't want to overshoot it. "I really hope this thing isn't breaking the engines... Then we're screwed."

The creature could scarcely stand at the moment, awkwardly trying to adjust its weight now that it only had three limbs. Perhaps it was lucky that the bulk of its mass was in its upper body, meaning that very little strain was being put on its remaining leg. However, with the loss of one appendage came a drastic reduction in its mobility. It could stand on its hind legs to attack but not move on them, it had to use all four in order to do that. Running now at any remotely quick speed was going to be dreadfully awkward. Seeing Viral bearing down on him once more the monster reared back on its one leg, preparing to snap its maw at him to try and stave off his attack. Seeing the attacker abruptly stop though and back off left it marginally confused, emitting only a low growl as it watched the Beastman, apparently in pain. It couldn't fathom what was going on, all it knew was there was an opening and it could get its food at last. Slamming down its arms on the ground it launched itself forwards, trying to ram its entire body into Viral and knock him down, and hopefully that pesky weapon away. Right as the distance between itself and the Beastman was rapidly closing that damn Saiyan interfered again, grabbing its prey from beneath the arms and lifting him up off the floor. Growling furiously the monster once more crashed onto the floor, skidding across and slamming into the guard rail, denting it and nearly snapping it apart.

Vegeta exhaled thankfully as he rose up into the air, holding Viral just under his arms and well out of reach of the monster. He may have been able to stop that, but with a beast that big it would have been one hell of a collision if he'd failed. Seeing it skid across the ground he cringed as it near broke the rail, worried that if this continued on much longer there might be damage to the engines. For the ship's sake they had to finish this soon, preferably now. Since Ki was off limits the only thing he could really do was hit it and hope it died, but from his strike earlier he could feel it was an incredibly dense being, its skin felt pretty darn coarse too. Pounding away at it then wasn't going to suffice, they needed a sharp edge. Viral's machete ought to do the trick. Looking at his friend now though he wasn't too sure if the Beastman was up for the task, he looked properly exhausted. If they hoped to kill this thing without causing any collateral then it was their only real option. "Viral...? If I keep us moving can you still swing that thing? I can't break its skin, that hit had a lot of force behind it already. We need your knife to do this."

Racing right along it hardly took the squad much time at all to reach the opposite end of the ship. With no other indications that the sound had come from elsewhere they stopped outside of the engine room. Takeshi was dismayed to see yet another panel beside the door, expecting them to have to either hack it or break their way in. When he walked up to the console he was surprised then to see it was in fact unlocked, meaning someone had come by and gone in already. Frowning he looked at the door uncertainly, trying to pick up energies on the other side. As he focused in on the room he managed to find a faint spark, and with a bit more effort was able to label it as Vegeta, no question. Something else was inside there though, something he couldn't place. It felt strange, and just plain wrong, like it ought not to even exist. If he didn't know better he'd think Viral had transformed, but even then the Beastman didn't give off anything like that. It was unsettling, it felt properly dark and sinister, and feral almost. Just what in the hell was it? "Hey... You guys feel that...?"

"How can I not? Whatever that is, it's got me chilled to the bone," Kabocha mumbled, staring uneasily at the door. He too had managed to sense Vegeta, meaning that the Saiyan was inside, presumably fighting whatever in the hell it was. He needed their help, they couldn't sit here and just gape at the door all day. Moving to stand in front of it he swallowed back some nerves, stretching his arms out and rolling his neck before looking at Takeshi. "Open it up boss, we've gotta get in there."

Out of reach, now both of them were out of reach. Damn that Saiyan, and damn the Beastman for being able to fly. There was a pit forming at the beast's stomach as it stared up at the two, mouth watering in anticipation. Just one, that's all it needed. Just one and then it would slink off and recover. How was it going to get them down though? It couldn't blast them, the Saiyan had a reply for that. Voicing its frustration in a loud, shrill shriek the monster crouched down, readying to launch itself up at the two to try and drag them back down to its level. While pressed low against the floor it became distracted by something, swiveling its head to look at the doors leading out of the engine room. There were more scents, more prey, more chances to have a meal. Anticipating the doors opening it turned its unsteady frame around, aiming right for the door as it began to pull apart. Once the opening was large enough for it to fit through it barreled forward, growling ferociously with it's eyes set on Kabocha, trying to just get its jaws locked on him and tear off something, anything to make itself heal.

"WHAT THE FRIG?!" Kabocha shouted, staring wide eyed at the monster charging at him. No time to move, no time to dash off or even try to blast it. Stuck where he was he instinctively swept a leg back and balled up his right hand, throwing forward a hard jab right at the monster. Catching it between the eyes he winced as he felt his arm lock up, closing his eyes and gritting his teeth. The monster was knocked back from the strong blow, tumbling backwards head over heels and finally ending up awkwardly splayed on its back. Opening his eyes when he noticed he wasn't freak food he blinked in confusion, looking down at the monster then his hand, wincing seeing his hand all scraped up from hitting the rough skin of the beast.

Takeshi had only just seen the monster come out, but it was more than enough to get an idea of what they were up against. The engineers had been pretty accurate in their frightened description, it was definitely not something they had encountered before. This feeling of dread that accompanied the beast was nothing like they had seen, and he could have sworn that its mouth had looked... Well it almost looked like space did just outside the window. It was a relief that Kabocha was fine, save for the scrapes on his hand, but he'd live from those. Exchanging a baffled look with his friends he hurried over into the doorway, surprised to see Viral and Vegeta up in the air over the monster. What the heck was going on in this ship?
"Does it earn me points? I'm not sure how this whole thing works," Tora replied, smirking as he shrugged his shoulders. Man, Jocelyn was really getting worked up over all of this. Even if he had peeked up her skirt, which he hadn't, shouldn't that be a compliment? All he'd done is look at her legs, that was innocent enough in of itself. Christ, she wore a skirt that exposed them, it was her fault for that then. She could just well have taken the looks in stride and left it be, but instead it was devolving into yet more bickering between them. As if reading his very thoughts she then shot down the idea of it being a compliment, getting an earnestly surprised look out of him. Aw crap, could she hear his thoughts now? He'd heard hers earlier, but Tora had figured that was unintentional and she wouldn't know for the life of her how to do it. Maybe he ought to censor his thoughts from now on too. Or... Then again, if she could hear them then he'd make them even worse, give her reason enough to not want to read them. That seemed much more enjoyable, and frankly a hell of a lot easier.

Hardly making it to the stairs before Jocelyn snapped at him again Tora couldn't well keep himself from laughing. "That adamant about it huh? Well shucks, and here I was thinking I'd get lucky on our first date," he teased, grinning as he cocked his head to the side. "Oh yeah, this is pretty much a date. I'm here, at your house, we're having dinner together. Sounds like a date to me!" Again, he was really just blowing smoke at this point. Dating, yet another thing he had utterly no experience with. All of his time had been devoted to practicing and training, and now that he was finally done with that he was too busy working to even consider a girlfriend. It was a shame, sure, but he'd get around to getting one eventually. It wasn't forbidden for an Oracion member to have a lover, there were just restrictions as to what classes you could date. Jocelyn was well out of his league, though that certainly didn't keep him from fantasizing. Knowing full well that it was against the rules of conduct he looked back down at her legs, rather enamored with them already. It was bound to piss off Jocelyn, but then again everything he did already accomplished that.

Jocelyn fired off a big one then, coming right out and accusing something of Tora that he very clearly was not. Even so, it got him to blush a furious red, looking at the Princess surprised and abashed. He was definitely not gay, the very thought of being with another man nearly making him hurl where he stood. Gay? Most certainly not! That quip only served to catch him off guard, but the second half of it hit a little harder. So was that the deal, she thought no one could possibly be attracted to her? She had a sharp mouth on her and bigger balls than some guys, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. She was fun once you figured her out, and her looks were definitely a big plus. Yet she still seemed to believe no one could, or would like her. A feeling that Tora understood all too well growing up. He was loud, rude, sarcastic and quick to make a remark, but a lot of it was a sort of buffer. In a lot of ways he recognized that he and Jocelyn were eerily similar. Not a lot of friends, if any, without their parents and awfully mistrustful of the world around them. More than he had realized initially they had quite a bit in common, and he was willing to bet if he dug a little deeper he'd find even more. Adopting a look of sympathy then he gazed down at the Princess, very nearly coming to the point of apologizing to her.

"Not a fan of boys, or toasters, sorry to disappoint," Tora replied, his tone surprisingly gentle as he smiled at Jocelyn. Quickly recovering from his momentary lapse he shook his head, grinning and gesturing to Jocelyn nonchalantly. "Bossy girls with cute skirts though? Sign me up!" Aidan joined in the conversation just then, shouting over both of them and demanding Jocelyn get downstairs to eat. Just as well, he was getting hungry at this point anyways. Smiling innocently when Jocelyn gave him a last warning he crossed himself jokingly, following down behind her and into the family room. The smell of pizza greeted him as soon as he stepped into the room, inhaling the smell greedily before eying the pie, eager to eat the entire thing himself if he could. Unfortunately for him there were two others here as well, and taking all the food in someone's house wasn't exactly going to get him welcomed back. Grabbing a paper plate he snatched up the biggest slice he could find, grabbing a can of orange soda as well before plopping his backside down on the couch. Hardly skipping a beat he started to nibble away at his food, doing his best not to down it in three bites and come across a total pig. Boy did it taste yummy though. Glancing over sideways at Jocelyn he gave the Princess a little wink, not at all content to stop their game just because they were eating.
Takeshi rolled his eyes, ignoring Choi's and Kai's taunts as he stared down the corridor intently. He knew he heard something, it sounded like an explosion. There was no Ki to detect, so did that mean it had been mechanical? If part of the ship was now ruined then they were effectively marooned and sitting ducks for the military, hardly ideal. Maybe if they could find out what had happened they could fix it before anything bad came of it.

"It came from down this way... It sounded pretty far off..." Possibly at the other end of the ship, a big reason to be worried then. The hangar was off in that direction, potentially close to whatever blast that was. Had the soldiers found everyone sitting there? Taking off down the hall in a quick jog he tried to strain his ears above the sound of their footfalls, hoping to pick up another sound to tip off where it may have been. If there was no Ki signature then maybe it was the soldiers, and perhaps they had found the monster. If they did one another in then all the better, less work for them. Anything less than that was going to cause problems for him. "Are you guys picking any energy up? Anything abnormal?" Takeshi asked, glancing back over his shoulder.

"Nothing man, only ours," Kabocha replied frowning as he hurried along behind the Prince. He had been the only one to hear this sound apparently, so it was a little iffy whether or not this was an actual thing. Takeshi well could have heard things and be chasing ghosts, meaning this whole endeavor was a huge waste. Even if that was the case at least they were doing something now, walking around aimlessly got tiresome really quickly.

Yumi nodded her head with a smile, fully agreeing with Daiko on the matter. She hadn't put a ton of thought into how everyone was handling the changes up until now, and it definitely had to be fairly overwhelming. New worlds, abandoning the life you had known, these were hardly small phases they were going through. To her it seemed all the more reason to try and be close with Choi, to try and help him through this. She couldn't say for certain, but Yumi felt she could do a better job supporting him if she were his... Girlfriend. Not so long ago the very thought of calling a Saiyan other than her friends anything but an enemy would have been totally farfetched. Now here she was, preparing to ask one of them out. She really was out of sorts if this was how she was going to behaving now. It had to be something to do with her changes, it made her soft or something ridiculous like that. If that was really the truth of it then why was she not really appalled by her feelings? Standing up from her spot she folded her hands behind her back, smiling at Daiko politely and giving a small bow.

"Thank you for the talk sir, I appreciate it." Yumi said, her cheeks still a faint rose color. "I'll try not to frighten him when I ask, but I definitely feel like he should hear it. Better or worse it's going to have to come out some time."

The monster just couldn't win for the life of it right now. Its ambush had failed and it quickly found itself helpless, being tossed about in the air like a toy. Trying to attack the Saiyan as it was in the air it was quickly knocked away, rather hard at that. Hurtling back down towards the floor it twisted its body, eyes locking on Viral as he prepared to swing with his cleaver at the helpless creature. The blade was very sharp, it already knew that and had the wounds to prove it. Taking a cut head on then would spell the death of it, there was no way that could happen. In an act of desperation it opened up its mouth, gathering a bit of energy as quickly as it could. Rather than fire at its assailant the monster shot at the far wall, doing so in a beam rather than a singular projectile like before. The force of the attack propelled it backwards, though not nearly enough to completely avoid damage. The cleaver still would hit the beast, rather than tearing it asunder ripping through one of the smaller hind legs, severing it entirely. Shrieking in pain it tumbled to the ground, rolling a fair bit before ending up on its side. The leg would land on the ground with a soft splat sound, surprisingly with no bodily fluids coming out. Instead it began to sizzle, and gradually melt away into a purple smoke.

"What in the hell? What is this thing...?" Vegeta mumbled, watching the leg in awe. Nothing in this universe did that, to the best of his knowledge. Everything bled, especially when a limb was severed. The only thing that wouldn't was a machine, and since this thing displayed hunger it was most certainly not a robot. That defied everything he knew then and made this foe rather curious. The scientist in him wanted to figure out what was going on, but the reality of the situation was they had to be rid of this thing as soon as possible, it was too dangerous. Spotting the beast struggling to its remaining feet he gritted his teeth, frustrated he couldn't simply blast it away. "Viral, it's getting back up!"
"I know what teamwork is, excuse me for getting excited during fights." Takeshi quipped, frowning as he lifted his arms and folded them behind his head. "Seriously... Just because I get carried away sometimes doesn't mean I can't work with people. You make it sound like I'm a hopeless lone wolf." He'd made it fair evident he could work with other people he figured, after all he had cooperated with his squad, hadn't he? And he and Shu definitely worked pretty well together he liked to think. Bah, he was getting worked up over nothing, he didn't need to worry about this anyways. Changing the topic to food only served to agitate Takeshi, whose own stomach was already letting him know it was well past lunch time.

"I can't help it if I get hungry guys, and you're all hungry too! I'm just the one to say it." Whatever, they'd eat as soon as this was done with anyways. He could already picture some of the foods that must be in the mess hall, and more precisely the food that the Elite only got to eat. It would all be theirs, some of the most mouth watering delicacies available to Saiyans. Oh just thinking about it now made his mouth water, Kabocha finding it awfully difficult to focus on fighting now. All the more reason to get done with it though, the sooner they beat it the quicker they could sink their teeth into something tasty. Smiling when Choi brought up eating the creature he nodded his own head enthusiastically, quite liking the idea. "Ooooh, yeah! You two and Yumi could cook it up and we could eat it all. If it's half as big as these engineers made it out to be there's going to be a whole lot of meat! Now that you said it I really hope it's edible..."

"And I really hope you guys drop the food conversation," Takeshi interjected, finally defaulting to Kai's side. "All we're doing is making ourselves hungrier talking about it. Let's kick the crap out of this thing and then we can worry about what's going on our plates, deal?" It would be rather helpful if the monster was edible. Considering everyone had left the ship it was safe to assume that there may not be a whole lot in the way of food on board, meaning they'd need some means of stocking up. What little they had on the ship they'd gotten from Sayomi would hardly serve everyone here, let alone just the Saiyans. Off in the distance there was a low rumbling sound, or at least Takeshi thought he heard something. Stopping in his tracks he frowned, listening for anything else following that but unable to pick out anything else. "Did any of you hear that...? Or was it just me?"

Yumi smiled gratefully at Daiko and nodded her head, thankful he'd keep this chat confidential. Maybe she did like Choi, which was odd considering the circumstances that they met. Really she should hate every three of those boys, but they'd come around rather quickly in her eyes. How was she going to explain to everyone else that she might like one of the boys? She worried that Vegeta and Viral would be angry with her, and Kai would be against it. If anyone teased her for it she couldn't really care about that, it was more worrying about upsetting people. Keeping it to herself would just serve to make things harder on herself ultimately, so coming out and saying it would be for the best. If she could get Choi alone later on and bring it up then she'd let the pieces fall where they may and go from there. If he didn't share her feelings or outright rejected her then just as well, she'd rather be turned down then go nuts not knowing.

"He gets flustered really easily..." the Beastman remarked, smiling meekly as he twisted her fingers together. "And... It's kind of cute how he does. I think the reason I like him... Well..." She took pause, shifting around on her seat a little before hiding her face in her hands to cover up her blush. "He just seems more fun than the others. He looks like he would be happy to goof around, and he makes jokes out of things. And... With everything going on it'd be amazing to have someone like that..." They could still be friends like that, Yumi knew that wasn't the only reason she was developing feelings for the Saiyan. Whatever the case it was happening, even if she didn't understand why.

"I'll just let it hit you next time then?" Vegeta retorted, shouting over his shoulder. Looking back at the spot where the monster had been he was disheartened to see utterly no trace of it. Even if it had been blown up there would be a mark or something, evidence that it had indeed been there. Grumbling under his breath the Saiyan walked back over to the spot, glancing around the room constantly to try and spot the beast. Never having dealt with such a creature before he was oblivious as it moved literally right beneath Vegeta's feet, heading directly for Viral.

The creature sprang up from the floor beneath Viral, enveloping him in its broad arms and dragging him down to the ground. With its prey now in its grasp it readied to bite down on him and begin to feed, but had its parade rained on rather quickly. Feeling a sharp pain in its arm the monster growled furiously, trying to tighten its hold on its prey to make it stop fighting. Instead Viral continued to claw away, managing to tear into its arms a fair bit and eventually make it completely release him, unable to sustain its grip. With a nasty snarl it sank back into the floor, retreating for the moment as it tried to recuperate. It couldn't do anything about its wounds, not unless it had food, then its body would regenerate. For its own well being then it needed to get at least one of these two, even just a bite would suffice. From the floor the monster would scale up the wall, and eventually coming to the ceiling where it had begun. Since Viral was already on the ground it went after him yet again, slipping out of the surface and dropping down, aiming its talons directly down at Viral to pierce his body.

Vegeta again managed to stop the worst from happening, flying up and driving a hard shoulder in the monster to knock it off its course. After striking it initially he sped up and flew by it, coming to a stop as he had the wall to his back and the beast flying towards him. Putting his hands together he lifted them up over his head, reeling back and driving his fists and forearms into the monster when it got close enough, spiking it downwards like a volleyball right in Viral's direction. "Viral! Now's your chance!"
The trance was taking quite a long while to run its course, giving Tora more than enough time to think things over. Now that he had Jocelyn's identity he could begin watching over her, as much as he could during class anyways. Worst case scenario he would skip a class or two here and there, just to make certain she was safe. Already he was considering coming back here, armed with his weapon and find somewhere to sit outside the house for the evening. After all, playing bodyguard to a royal member was a full time job. The rooms of a high standing individual and their protection detail were always fairly close, often in the same wing. If he was to be a proper guard then he had to do his duty, and that meant keeping an eye on the Princess almost 24/7. Realistically it would be much less than that. After all he was only human, and would tire out or grow hungry eventually. Regardless of how much time he would devote to his post Tora knew he definitely had to start getting serious. If someone saw him and recognized him then it would inadvertently put Jocelyn in danger as well, he needed to be ready for that, and any contingency. An awful hell lot to plan for and worry about for a single person, he definitely had his work cut out for him now.

As time dragged on Tora allowed himself to drift off a little, falling into a light sleep for the time being. If he was going to be playing watchdog all night he needed to get as much rest as he could now, however meager it might be. Even with his eyes closed he was well aware of what was going on in the room, listening intently for anything that might be happening. So when Jocelyn suddenly shifted in her bed he most certainly was aware of it, opening his eyes and turning his head to look over at her. Before he could so much as get a word in edgewise he was knocked over the head with a pillow, getting an annoyed sound out of him. Recovering and looking at her confused he was slapped yet again, this time cursing as his glasses were knocked off of his head. A couple more subsequent hits followed, and if he wasn't so confused as to why she was doing it he'd probably be laughing. Jocelyn then snapped at him, giving him a much better idea of what she was miffed about. Despite being the outlet of a nasty pillow thrashing he couldn't help but chuckle, finally raising a hand to block the strikes. So she'd figured that much out, huh? Well shit, that was going to come back to haunt him, he knew that already.

"Chill... I didn't look up your skirt," Tora said, smiling innocently as he leaned down and snatched up his glasses. Thankfully the frame wasn't bent at all, and the lenses were fine in spite of falling against the carpet. Giving the lenses a careful wiping on his shirt he blinked as a pillow was thrown in his face, looking up at the Princess amused again. "What? I figured you'd be happy a guy was interested in you! Take it as a compliment Jocelyn!"

Jeez, what a pain this was going to be. He'd never hear the end of this, certainly not if they were going to be together for some time. Sure enough before he could even leave the bedroom Jocelyn was calling back to him, bringing up his behavior in a pretty vivid suggestion. Stepping out into the landing he looked down at the Princess sheepishly, his face a deep red despite trying to play it off.

"Doesn't sound too bad honestly," Tora retorted, giving her a cheeky smirk. "Though I never thought of pizza as a 'romance' food. Maybe we can do that for dessert though?" Ah, to hell with it. His goose was cooked and he knew it, may as well go down in a blaze of glory. Or infamy, depending on whose viewpoint you were looking at. Hopefully Aidan wasn't hearing all of this, he really didn't need that guy getting on his case while he was trying to work. Convincing Jocelyn to let him come over was going to be difficult enough as it was without her brother hating him too. Albeit if he was banned from the house he could always sit outside, or nearby anyways just to keep an eye on things. They'd cross that bridge if it came to pass, he couldn't really be bothered to worry about it right now. At the moment all he could smell was pizza, and there were a few slices with his name on it. Following Jocelyn down the stairs, and perhaps looking at her rear now and again, he hurried right along into the dining room to get himself some food. Plain cheese was a bit boring but he'd gladly take it. There were pizza shops in his home town even, sure, but they were so rare and expensive that he rarely ever went to them. Pizza as it turned out here was pretty much inexpensive, as were a lot of foods. Maybe it was just where he lived that made it that way. Everything was cooked with the finest ingredients, nothing less. Being part of a noble society had that kind of drawback; simple things cost an arm and a leg.
"You want me to watch her...? Well... Er... Okay then." Aidan left not a second afterwards, leaving Tora alone with Jocelyn in her little trance. Well he supposed that was ideal, he could get a better look at precisely what she was doing now. After making certain that her brother had gone downstairs he walked over to the bed, peering down at the paper that she was scrawling on to get a peek. It took a few moments for any coherent figure to take shape, but once discernible features were drawn it instantly dawned on him just who she was drawing. There was absolutely no way that she could possibly know who that was, that confirmed this was a vision. How interesting though that she'd be drawing Eslaria of all people. With a faintly impressed smirk he continued to watch her draw, amazed at how detailed and exact the illustration was turning out to be. Definitely the Queen, no doubt about it. Why exactly she was drawing that woman in particular he couldn't say, the nature of this ability was lost to him. There had to be more of these drawings somewhere in her room, he could potentially piece them together and get some idea of what her visions could mean. Of course without exact knowledge of this ability he'd only be able to make a guess at best.

Tora glanced around the room, trying to decide just where on Earth the Princess might keep a bunch of sketches. There was a desk, that seemed to be a probable place. Since Jocelyn was still in her trance he doubted she'd mind terribly if he went and took a peek. Before he could even get his hand on the knob to the topmost drawer he heard the Princess' voice, but not in the way he'd expect. It sounded like she was inside his mind, echoing like a thought would. Interesting... So she had telepathy too? That he sincerely doubted she was aware of, probably not even knowing she was speaking to him right now. Shutting the drawer again he turned back to Jocelyn, smiling at her amused.

"Believe me... I'd take a picture if I could," Tora mumbled, chuckling faintly before shaking his head. She couldn't possibly know he was staring, or what had been going through his mind for that matter. If she did she'd be screaming at him telepathically, that was a certain. Among the things he could spend his evening doing staring at Jocelyn all night was... Definitely not among the worst.

One final thought would come from Jocelyn before she went silent, and it was a curious one. Is that what she thought, that he might have a crush on her? Really? Going back to the bed he carefully took a seat in front of her, folding one leg over the other as he simply watched her draw for a moment. A crush on the Princess, huh? She was a beautiful girl, that much he wouldn't deny. She was fun too in her own right, the arguing and snappy comments proved rightfully entertaining. In the entire day at school she had been the only girl he wasn't utterly repulsed by, and admittedly looked forward to seeing her again. Jocelyn had somehow made what would otherwise be a painfully boring task fun, and now he was fairly content to continue. Not that he would ever act like he was excited to see her each time, it'd ruin this little bout that they had going on and ruin the fun of it all.

"Stupid girl... Even if I did have a crush it wouldn't matter..." Tora whispered, lifting a hand and gently stroking Jocelyn's hair back. With a bitter smile he then brushed the back of his fingers down along her face, tracing along her cheeks to her chin where he finally cupped it. "We can't be together, it's as simple as that. All the love and other gooey crap in the world would never change that fact..." That was the way things worked back home. There were distinct social classes and ranks, and certain groups did not mingle with others. Even being part of Oracion and essentially being the royal guard he wasn't allowed to be anything more than friends with royalty, and even that might be a stretch. Friendly terms was usually as far as things went, even between children of the same age group. So really it didn't matter that he thought Jocelyn was beautiful, or even if he did hypothetically have a crush on her. At the end of the day it was a moot point.

"I'll keep you safe, that's all. But all I'll ever be to you is just another guy," Tora added bitterly, getting up off the bed and taking his hand from Jocelyn's face. Shaking his head he scowled, getting annoyed at himself for even getting into this mindset. Where in the hell did he get off even musing over a relationship with the Princess? He was trained better than that, even his insubordinate self knew it was strictly prohibited. He had to pull his head out of his ass and focus, not daydream over the impossible. Since the Princess was still well in her trance he opted to remain in her room, not comfortable with leaving her alone while so vulnerable. Going back to her desk then he grabbed the chair, moving it to the far wall and dropping down into it, leaning back and crossing his arms over his chest. Tora would wait as long as he had to for her to get through it, and take whatever flak came his way afterwards. And so would begin his illustrious career as Jocelyn's chaperone.
