Oh lord, this is a thing. The weird thing is a few nights ago I would’ve thought this idea was plum crazy and was the weirdest shipping I had ever seen since like Toph and Sokka from Airbender. But I’ve been on a Game of Thrones kick lately which is evident by me joining my second “really” advanced game ever. But this isn’t about that. I’ve had this sort of idea ever since a dream spoke to be about AU nonsense that I wrote down on a notepad the following morning. The idea was to play a sort-of less chaotic evil Joffrey Baratheon and a more lawful evil type—his own “code” of beliefs. Of course this would change him from being an arbitrary prick and more of a lawful prick. I can go into detail if interested but I’m more curious how we can make this something tangible, but I’ve never ever had a 1x1 work out so I’m a bit cautious.

Talk to me.

Trust me, the pair can totally work! I know, it sounds crazy and it is but I have plans which are semi-coherent.

So, Joffery was actually pretty nice to Sansa and Arya (before his dad got killed) while en route to King's Landing and even after getting there. So I think his psychopathic tendencies are only a result of A) crazy genetics and B) his father dying and never being able to process it while finally being given the title of King which in his mind should fix everything but instead gives him a god-complex. So anyway, my ideas were sort of:

1. Sansa could get captured and kidnapped out of King's Landing when Stark allies realize that she is in danger if she marries Joffrey, so Arya now has to take her place and marry Joffrey. Needs plenty more sprucing up but it could tie in to the next brain nugget.

2. Changes the events from season 1 and 2 and er 3, a bit. For a crack pair, that's understandable though. So The Hound and Arya are traveling around, still trying to get the Vale. Meanwhile, the riots in King's Landing are getting worse, even with Joffrey aiming to marry to a new girl soon. Petry senses the danger and he and Cersei and Joffrey smuggle themselves out of the castle and go on the run for a while. Cue everyone failing with survival skills and Petry and Cersei giving each other witty remarks while trying to control the bratty King. As the groups travel, they soon cross paths. The Hounds sees Joffrey as another opportunity to make some cash and captures him.

Meanwhile Cersei and Petyr have to get him back, while avoiding the Stark war that's raging, but nearing its own end. Thus The Hound now has to babysit Arya and Joffrey as he decides to take Arya back first and then deal with Joffrey. Then the two could escape on their own, learn to work together, etc.

3. Ish. I did have another idea, that Joffrey didn't really behead Ned, but sent him to deal with Dany and used a stand-in who's head was concealed, therefore he could break the "good" news to Arya, should he need to get on her good side, since she has the most skill in terms of surviving and fighting. Just some musings.

Hello.
Sailor Scouts/Senshi to the rescue! XD

Looks good to me, just indicate where her weakness and short comings may be, otherwise it's cool. *nods*
That works for me.
I'll get a post up later tonight or in the morning, for now I must go feast on a dinner aka a sandwich~

And so is that song, couldn't help myself.

Totes not sorry.

DW is a valid excuse but only for so long. Well Nine and Ten are more valid but hey, you gonna catch up for 12? New episodes come this fall.
The dance was just as she thought it would be, no surprises there.

Sasha had spotted a few of her friends and made small talk with them. She and James were soon approached by Matt and his lovely date. Sasha was happy to meet the girl, Aisha. Things went by alright, Sasha had nothing to complain about. Well, James did seem rather high strung, wound up tight about the issue of a dance. She didn't think he needed to be so nervous, after all, emotions could be infections. If he was uneasy, she would get uneasy as well. But if they relaxed and kept enjoying themselves with the food and chatter, then it would be easier to let the drama of the rest of the world slid off their shoulders. She had spotted Alex but hadn't gotten the chance to speak with him. She did feel bad about turning him down but with James being the other option, as her new boyfriend, she didn't feel too bad.

As the mood took a slight turn from hyped and bubbly, Sasha noticed a few people heading off, holding hands as they left the building. It seemed the new tone of the night was sparking a lot of mushy romance. She and James had yet to really kiss each other, they had only been together a short time as boyfriend and girlfriend. They didn't want to rush things but now, at the moment, it seemed like they had a chance to make the actual transition from one thing to another. Some people were snogging by the snack table while many of the chaperons were calling it a night. The dance had about a half an hour left but she wasn't sure if she really wanted it to end so soon. She had fun and she hoped James could say the same too.

"Ah." She looked over when James regained his power of speech and turned to her, asking what she thought they should do. "Ohh." She looked back at the dance floor which was only home to a few couples at this point. Sasha held her breath and decided they could carry on with their little date but that it didn't have to be where everyone or anyone could see. Our of the corner of her eye, she spotted Alex heading off in a group. Somehow she felt a little less in the spotlight now, even so, it seemed James was still nervous. "Why don't we head off and go somewhere else?" She suggested. They could walk around, meddle and loiter as all the kids did. She and James headed off and she was hoping that a chance in scenery would do them some good, well James some good.

Despite being away from their peers, Sasha did still feel a little nervous but she saw it as a good thing.

"I've got a massive craving for ice cream." She gushed as the cool air hit them as they left the campus. "Like if I don't some soon, I might go mad and try climbing a tree. Can you imagine? In this dress? My mum would kill me an' all for ice cream." Sasha laughed a little as they walked, her face still a little red. Ice cream was a great way to cheer people up and she wanted something sweet and cool. "I wonder there's any frozen custard around here." She said aloud. She spotted a petrol station up ahead and decided they'd have some good cheap ice cream for sale. "Come on." Sasha grabbed James' hand and hurried to the stop light and waited for it to turn before she jogged across the street. They got their ice cream treats and both paid for themselves since they both wanted to pay for each other, and couldn't budge on the matter. Once they got back out on the street, they were back to wandering again.

The girl had picked a chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich, plain but yummy. She did her best to not make a mess but when it became too much of a hassle, she threw out half of it and wiped herself off with a napkin. Everything was changing for them, she liked it though. Sure, it was new and scary but it wasn't like they needed to be afraid of each other. "You know when I first met you, I thought were totally mental, like, someone who would be so tough to get to know but I was wrong about you." Sasha smiled. "I'm glad I was, not so glad you beamed me with a football but...you know things sorted themselves out." Sasha shrugged a little as they walked back towards their neighborhood. Checking her phone, she saw it was 9:24 so they didn't need to rush home by any means.

The two ended up wandering back to the rock that James had showed her the day everything changed. She took a seat on the edge and looked around. While things were changing, it was hard to consider that in a few years, they'd be in Matt and Aisha's shoes. Would they still be together? Sasha wasn't sure, that was a peculiar thing to consider but she'd like to believe that no matter what happened, they'd still be mates. She pulled out her phone and picked out a song, the slowest one she had anyway, which was tough since she loved peppy songs. It was a really old one by Vance Joy called Riptide. It was cute and kind of made her think of James. "Come on, we skipped out on that last dance but I still want one last one." Sasha grinned and jumped down, holding her hand out to the boy. If they didn't want to make fools of themselves in front of strangers at a stuffy dance, they should at least be able to do it by themselves.
"Gods?" Urkwia repeated.

While people were free to worship whatever they liked, she was not one for the idea of Gods or other worldly powers. To her, everything could be explained with science. The male carried on, explaining the event in question and how people could misconstrue it to be someone of a god, rather than an incident regarding a chance encounter with two stones. Her own experiments could be seen as a fancy spectacle of art and magic and not that of detailed science and reasoning. Whatever the cause or origin, Urkwia didn't believe in Gods or Goddesses. What mattered to her was what she saw first hand, what she could explain with logic and clear delegation. Telio then went back to considering the possibility that they were from the same earth.

It seemed so unlikely. They were proud of having mapping most of their world, if not all of it. Could there really be a place uncharted that the boy just so happened to come from? The more doubts she had, the more uneasy she felt. "We have, yes." Urkwia replied to him with a firm nod. There wasn't much else to be said though. The map was as it was and looking at it wasn't somehow going to move mountains and make rivers pop out of nowhere. She turned back to the table, finding herself hungry but now unable to eat anything. When Telio began to speak again, she looked back at him. He asked about how to prove the theory, that there were two worlds and not just a massive one that challenged both of their history and knowledge. "I'm not sure. This theory isn't an easy one to test."

If they simply went from door to door, surveying people, they would be deemed lunatics.

"i don't wish to doubt your credibility." She told him. "I want to believe you're from where you say you are, while you can trust that this isn't a ruse either. It is possible this event has messed with our minds but so far, we both appear to be functioning properly." She considered and looked around. "If we wish to move forward with either of our research, turning to the sapphires themselves would do the most good." She said and picked up the two dark pieces she had used in the past. Upon close examination, courtesy of her magnifying glass, she saw there were small cracks. They weren't big enough to see with the naked eye, so surely they wouldn't damage the intended use, even so, she made a quick note in her book about the damage done.

"I hope these will last a bit longer," Urkwia lamented to Telio as she cradled them in her hand. "it appears the event has made a small crack in each gem which leads me to believe that they aren't mean to last forever." Of course she had other dark colored stones but she was quite protective of the ones she had just used which had caused such a breakthrough. another bout of uncertainty fell over her as she looked around her personal area. "If we repeat our actions and...and another vortex takes shape, do we enter it?" There would be no other way, surely. While she was fueled by curiosity and the need to break out of her comfort zone, she was getting nervous at the thought of opening some potential passage to another world, or at the least, an unknown uncharted land. 'There's no other way to move forward...' She thought as she began to hit the sapphires together, looking for another wisp of blue light.
Satoru was the first to arrive after Mimamoru, who was happy to see him of course. The male held up his own gift of sorts and her lips curved up in a sly grin, the next best thing. He then approached Soshi, the two exchanging a friendly few words. "Of course, everything from atop my throne seems lovely and fair as ever. Such weather has been permitted but the sun should come out soon enough." Soshi gave Satoru a sly grin as he patted his friend on the shoulder. Mima went back over to pour herself a new drink, this time she passed on the tame tea, and went for something more smooth and silky, the whiskey that their friend had brought over. Once she poured herself a neat amount, she walked over and leaned over the boys from behind. "I guess the second mouse gets the cheese." Soshi offered to Satoru when the door slid open and another Corrector announced their arrival.

"You're not too late, don't worry!" Mimamoru said to Yasukazu who then showed off his own offering. "Those look very good, thank you." Mima said and quickly took the bag off of his hands. "You always make the best snacks." She praised him and helped set them up on the table for everyone to enjoy. As they chatted, the other female arrived. Sarah was a foreigner, new to the group as well as Japan itself. As the leader, Mimamoru had made it her mission to help Sarah acclimate smoothly. "Hello there, Sarah-san." She bowed her head in her cute manner and helped her set up some of the goods she had brought. Like Sarah, Mima loved sweets. Or any food, really. SO they two could easily bond over treats and chocolate. Japan had a lot to offer in terms of snacks and sweets though Sarah's taste was different due to where she was raised and how.

Even so, there was something for everyone if you looked hard enough.

"Hey there." Soshi flashed a smile to Sarah and Irie who had also arrived. He rose to his feet and dimmed the music down so it would be easier to converse without having to rival the smooth rifts of a saxophone. "It looks like we're all here, I suppose our missing member has other obligations." He frowned a little but caught Mima giving him a look so he cleared his throat. "Anyway, I was hoping we would all be able to use this time to unwind. Work has kept us all busy and I know I could use a drink. It seems Mi-chan has helped herself so everyone else, feel free." He said. He wouldn't normally make speeches like that in his own home, especially for a casual get together, but they did have a new member that needed to feel included.

Making his way to the kitchen area, he made himself a drink and got down some sake in case anyone wanted it. He could remember several times when their group would go out late after work, drink and eat street-food until they passed out in the gutter. Those days of working and bonding seemed so far away but they were young back then and didn't know any better. Some could avoid school and think they'd be okay but they were only fooling themselves. Now that he and Mimamoru were older, they knew the cost of what they did and why they needed to take it seriously. Even so, it was for that very dangerous reason, that they couldn't wrap themselves up in seriousness. They needed to balance emotions just as they would being a Corrector.

Still, Soshi wasn't sure if he should bring up what he and Mima were discussing. They were the eldest members of the group but if it did concern Mimamoru, it was better they talk about it now. If they needed to do their own digging, it would need to be done outside of the eye of the Gvn. They couldn't look like they were trying to trick the system or imply that they didn't trust it. if Correctors stepped out of line, it wasn't uncommon for them to be killed or relocated. But the increase in work was an understandable inquiry, was it not? He finished his drink and made himself another. He also made a plate of several of the things his friends had contributed to the party. Approaching the topic itself wasn't an easy task. If they all agreed to check up on the flux of threats, they were risking their jobs but also their lives.

Of course in the back of his mind, he considered that this was just an abnormal amount of work and that was that.

Or that it was a Hacker's ploy to get innocent Corrector's attention.

An unsettling feeling washed over Soshi as he sat back down on the couch. "Actually, Mima-chan and I were discussing work before everyone arrived." He commented as he ate some sushi.

"Yes..." Mima looked to her second in command and then to the others who had the same right to know about her apprehensions. "I was just expressing how odd it is for us to be called into work so frequently at this time of year." She cleared her throat. It could be nothing but could be something. And if it was something, she had a right to know what could be coming after her friends and the innocent. "Usually around this time, we get space to breathe and be with our loved ones, ah not um...we're not each other's loved ones..." She blushed slightly. "I mean, it's..." She wasn't usually one to get tongue tied unless she let her emotions get the best of her. Mimamoru chewed on the glass rim and smelled the contents. They were warming and soothing. "I know questioning it doesn't do anything useful and if we wanted to investigate ourselves, it could be seen as treason...I just want us all to be safe."

"If there is something brewing, I'd like us to be prepared." She finished and set her empty glass down.

Soshi looked to her and then the others. Mimamoru seemed oddly serious about the issue. He didn't think it had consumed so many of her thoughts. "So much for a fun afternoon." He muttered and ate a few more bites and licked his lips. He wasn't one for rocking the boar and poking where he shouldn't be. He wanted to handle the situation, if it was one, with care and consideration. And the group didn't need their leader freaking out and pushing them into a bad direction, which was why he decided to speak up and offer another look at the issue. "If there was a growing danger, I'm sure we'd be made aware of it. For all we know, this isn't a Hacker but the Gvn themselves trying to test us. We don't want to overact just because you have a bad feeling about something." Soshi considered. "We've had tests before where we weren't aware of them until after they were over." He pointed out.

"I know." Mima sighed. "I've just...I've lost too many people and if this is the start of something-"

"What do you guys think?" Soshi glanced to the others. He could understand Mima's reservation about just sticking to their job and letting things settle or pass. But his reservations were also valid. Which was why they were in a group. Groups made choices and had better ideas, rather than someone who was alone on their own. The Gvn knew that while it was a risk to put a lot of power in a gang of strangers, they also knew that great things could come out of such progress. The Correctors had been a valued asset behind closed doors. And as such, they were making enemies. Hackers would and handmade infections would be presented to them and yet they all followed orders without fail. Soshi wanted to ensure they were safe, yes, but he wanted them to remain level headed.

If you let Mima make a choice when she was high off of good food and drink, it would be a questionable one come down the line.

It was why, he insisted she not move in when she kept bugging him about it when they went out for a round of ramen and sake after work. She was in a great mood and therefore not thinking straight. So he was the voice of reason then, and he had to be now. "Personally, work is bound to settle down and this blip would be a thing of the past." Soshi smiled but as he did, their phones went off simultaneously, their Cnnt App notifying them of a new threat that needed to be handle. Mima opened her mouth to likely say she told him so but he cut her off, "Coincidental." He told her and pulled out his phone. Thanks to the latest upgrade, they didn't need a physical computer to sync the application with the DgtWld, they could get comfortable and jump right in. "Guess we get our snacks and get right to work." Soshi considered and grabbed a cookie and ate it before he laid back on the couch and touched his wristwatch.

A warm fizzing sensation overcame him as his body became limp and he materialized in the DgtWld, a wide black and neon green realm. It was a grid, an endless plane of vacant data. When they had to take down a foe, it's coordinates would link them to the close destination. If they were taken directly too the danger, it was likely that something would go wrong if the group was unprepared to deal with the unknown enemy. Usually they would run the extra bit or one of them would use a flashy mode of transport, depending on if they got an upgrade or recent promotion. A male in old fashioned attire and dark blue hair looked around, waiting for the others to join him. Soon he was standing beside a girl with pink hair and similar scantily clad attire. "Long time no see, Ice." She winked. Still, she was on guard and ready to get to work. No worries there.

"Oh yes, how I've missed you, E.G." Ice sighed softly and brushed some of his hair back, out of his eyes. The DgtWld was silent as usual, in the real world, Mimamoru had picked a lounge and settled down, before she connected to the DgtWld. "I think this is our chance to find whatever answers you're after." He muttered, though he was trying to be a vague as possible. You never knew who was listening to them. "if anything, these constant calls are the work of some serial killer or hacker." He considered.

"They're at X-94, we're at W-90, not too far..." Eternal Grace muttered, consulting the semi-transparent screen in front of her. "I don't have a good feeling about this though."

"Yes, words every solider wants to hear from their leader before charging into battle." Ice rolled his eyes, though he was clearly messing around with her.
Wonderful, do you have any ideas or suggestions for your role or the idea in general?
The drizzle outside was a welcomed guest to all the potted plants which decorated the windowsills of the Oasis Household.

Anabelle's mother, Mahea, was often up with the bluejays and humming birds. She would make a simple breakfast for her and her daughter and spend the rest of the day busying herself with household chores. Mahea's main source of income was online work. Whenever Ana would ask her mother what she did or what her job was, Mahea would simply wave a hand and insist that it was good work. Ana had long since given up on figuring her mother out. Her mother had gray wavy hair which was kept up in a bun and cool brown eyes. She was someone who was often happy and reliable and yet Ana knew her mother had secrets.

In Ana's mind, these secrets didn't matter when it came to looking at the big picture. Anabelle didn't know about her father, her mother's job, and a few other loose ends. Even so, the pair were very close. Mahea insisted Ana still live at home, despite having finished college for the time being. Not being a daughter who would want to abandon her mother, Anabelle complied and stayed put. As the sun shifted in the sky, signally a new hour in the day, a light ringing noise could be heard from Ana's room. A sleepy hand swatted at the silver alarm clock and on the fifth attempt, a hand connected with the top of the bell.

A loud groan was heard from within the cocoon of blankets and pillows.

"Ana, get up!"

"Hunghnnn..."

"You have to be at work in an hour!"

"Uhhgh!"

"If you don't get up, I'm not driving you!"

That did it.

Ana bravely threw the covers off and ran out of her room and waved her arms, face a bit flushed. "I'm up, I'm up!" She signaled and scurried back to her room. The two women lived in a two-bedroom apartment. It was cozy but not at all cramped. Anabelle looked over at her bed which was terribly tempting. She quickly made it to stamp out the need to get back in it. The day was gloomy and she was sure there would be a lot more patients than usual. Ana pulled on a pair of black slacks and a black tank top. She grabbed her purse and headed out to see her mother holding out two slices of toast and a bottle filled with tea. "Thank you." Anabelle smiled.

The two made their way down to their old Toyota Camry and headed for the city's hospital. The ride was filled with the static of the radio, coming in and fading out. The news wasn't very thrilling so Ana turned it off, rather keen to listen to rain than the lull of some tired old man trying to talk politics. As the car slowed down in front of the busy hospital, Ana had finished her breakfast and was in the midst of shaking all the crumbs out when her mother leaned over and kissed her cheek. "Be safe." Mahea said and rubbed the smudge of lipstick off of her daughter. Ana smiled and hopped out with her purse and shut the door. She turned to wave and the mother headed back home, careful to drive slower than she usually would.

Rain brought out the recklessness but also the meekness, in people.

Arriving to work with a few minutes to spare before her shift, Anabelle quickly put on some baby blue scrubs and went to go check on some of the patients she had been working with. The brunette rubbed her achy neck as she went into one of the rooms and talked with an older man who had been a frequent flyer in the hospital for a while. No one could figure out what was wrong with him. He had no family, hardly any money to his name thanks to the recent recession. It broke her heart but since the doctors were pushing him from one section to the next, Ana wondered if they were just wasting time when they should be sitting down and thinking things through, rather than try to push him on someone else.

"Morning Mr. Summers. With a name like that, I can't say you're a fan of the rain?" She guessed as she checked his chart.

"Actually, I love the rain. If it weren't for this winter storm, the spring and summer wouldn't be bountiful at all." He smiled.

She nodded and looked to him, "I'm gonna figure out why you're sick. Hang in there." Ana offered and put the chart down on the end of the bed and went off to check on the others. The hospital itself was big and always busy. It was the same one she did her beginning work in and she liked it so much, she stayed and was hired on for real. Ana felt like there was something missing. She wanted to get into a more specific sort of medicine but she wasn't sure as to what exactly. There was this hole inside of her and she had yet to really fill it, even with becoming a full fledged nurse with a real paycheck. Anabelle caught up with the others and then went to get some coffee.

She and her friends chatted while they talked about the rain which only seemed to intensify. "I bet we're going to have a car crash before noon." One woman said.

"I bet two." Someone else added.

"Don't say that." Ana frowned at them. Of course it was in jest but the nurses knew there some truth in it. Rain made driving hell and on days like this, people were either sick or being stupid because of the weather. "I'm gonna see if the Minor Emergency needs help." She said. Her friends wished her luck as she headed on down. She passed through the waiting room and saw it wasn't as crowded as she anticipated. She was glad for that. The woman put her name down to be put 'on call' in case things became too crazy. She then headed up to get back to work. The hours passed and soon it was lunchtime. You wouldn't know it looking out the window though, she decided to head out and grab a soup and sandwich at the corner deli.

Grabbing a spare umbrella from the locker room, Ana headed out, sill in her scrubs. The smell of rain was very distinct and pungent as she walked down the sidewalk. In the distance, she heard cars rushing by in the slick street. She moved to let an old lady by who seemed to be on her way home from the market. The people around her were so fascinating, even if she didn't really know them, her mind liked to make up stories. As she popped into the deli, she grabbed a number and waited to be served. When she got everything and headed back to the hospital, she found herself stalling, though she wasn't sure why. She loved her work, of course but she wasn't sure if she wanted to eat lunch there.

But the deli had no sitting area so where could she go?

It was a weird conundrum but there could be worse pickles to be in. Anabelle shifted her weight from one foot to the other as she stood under the awning of the little deli. The bag containing her soup and sandwich was safe for the time being but Ana knew her indecisiveness may grant her a cold lunch. Still, the girl wasn't sure why she had such a knot in the pit of her stomach all of a sudden. Even though eating at work wasn't ideal, she couldn't think of anywhere else to go so she headed back up the next few blocks, lips curving down in an unsettled frown. It was a little thing, totally insignificant, but even so, the nurse felt lousy all of a sudden. She could never make up her mind so these fits weren't unusual for her to get. She told herself she'd get some candy at the vending machine on the third floor and a small smile crept back onto her misty face.

A series of long gray trees were Devon's only company for endless days.

He was a wandered by nature and he liked the space.

Even so, put him in the middle of a bustling town and he'd be able to charm anyone he set his eyes upon.

The male was gifted though some might argue it was a curse. Some in his position, well many actually, would say it was in fact a curse. Many with his skill had killed themselves or allowed them to be slain by someone else. Devon was someone who could read minds and use his own to move things. His skills were useful when he was around a new threat but in his eye, not everyone had to be a threat. But over the past years, it seemed those with special magical skills were deemed unfit for the world. Some could flee to other worlds while some went into hiding and soon developed a skill in which they were too ashamed to be the unique people they really were.

While he could read people's minds and seek the truth hidden within their heats, Devon wasn't an advocate for pretending to be something you weren't. He often laid everything out on the table. if he read someone's mind and found out something he shouldn't have, he would confess and apologize. Sometimes this would land him in hot water but he was spry enough to get away in the end. There was a time when he could have been called upon to do go, to find missing people or to get to the bottom of a bloody mystery and help parents figure out who killed their daughter. But not anymore. No. Nowadays, his skill wasn't used for such quaint practices.

His skill was mostly used to get by, to evade those who may wish him dead.

The boy grew up in a family of magicians. His mother was like him, a woman of the Mind. His father on the hand was someone who could be called a Spirit handler. His two younger sisters, to his knowledge didn't get any magical traits passed down to them. Devon was envious of that, to a certain extent. They could have normal lives, not muddled by drama and bloodshed. They could see the world for what it was, without blinding saying that all magic was evil. They knew better. And yet, Devon had to leave his family thanks to the evil that wanted to destroy magic. His sister would be safe, surely. But his parents had to leave their daughters in the care of friends.

Those days in their little village felt like forever ago.

As the man crept through the tin forest, his mind ceased wandering. He closed his eyes and focused his energy on what was around him. Were there enemies? Were there merchants? Or animals he could slay for profit? Rather than sense anyone, he felt a cluster of thoughts collect in front of him which told him that he was nearing a town or village. With his heart singing, he hurried along through the depressing wood. He emerged out of it ten minutes later and saw a large collection of houses and huts. From the smell of things, people were still living which was good. Very good. He put on his usual smile and marched forward.

He had on him, a long sword and a smaller dagger. He had a sack full of goods, a map, and some other things. He didn't have money very often but he was sure he could strike up a deal with someone. Giving something to get something was the fairest means in his mind. He found a small tavern where someone seemed to be playing music via a wooden flute. Devon ran a hand through his hair and knew that the day may be early, but he needed something to eat. He wished he could catch up wit his old companion, Kieran again. They knew of the rumors that fed hungry ears across the world. Someone wanted to restore magic to their hellish world. And yet, it seemed too good to be true. How would one reset the balance so that magicians such as themselves weren't seen as animals?
