Roleplayer Sheet:

Age:

24

Frequency Online:

Nights and weekends, sometimes between my classes come fall.

Responsibilities Offline:

I am a full time college student, I also commute to said hell-hole so that also eats at my time. I help my parents cook/clean when I get home so most nights I'll be busy doing something. Be that as it may, I do have things on here to do and I have faith that I'll be able to get to things reasonably like an adult. I have access via tablet, phone and PC and when I can get a few hours (not just a few minutes) I do hope on since I'd rather hunker down and work, than have pressure to do something ultra fast before I have something else to do offline.

Favorite tv show or books:

I'd say Doctor Who is pretty spiffy but the last couple of seasons have been less than amazing. I do watch Game of Thrones, it's alright but again, getting a little stale after a while. I'm watching Breaking Bad too. I love Orphan Black and Top Gear, both amazing shows. And then there's the old school anime like The Slayers, Yu Yu Hakusho, Fruits Basket, Case Closed, dot hack, Ghost in the Shell etc. Books? Harry Potter is always cool, close to my heart but since I'm a writer, reading lately has taken less priority but when I have more time, I'll probably get back into it.

Why do you like to write/RP:

It's what I want to get paid for. I'm majoring in Creative Writing and I just love that with roleplaying, you're not alone, you get input and ideas and twists from other people who care about a story that once didn't exist, but now is.

Time with Tokyo Sector:

2 Years, joined in 2020.

Background:

Natazume Meadows was born in Osaka, Japan 1996.

Her mother was Japanese and her father was British. Her parents met when her mother was in London for the holiday. They quickly fell in love as most people do in their early twenties and traveled the world together, both putting aside their budding careers for one another. Natazume's father, Andy, was part of a pretty well off family. They weren't obsessively wealthy but they were well off thanks to old money and hard work that had been passed from the generations. Her mother, Mimamoru Uede, was a passionate baker and enjoyed learned what she could in Europe on her many visits around the area. Mimamoru and Andy married after two years together and three years later, Mimamoru was pregnant with Natazume.

Natazume was raised in Osaka but the family would travel to London fairly often which is what prompted Natazume to elect to go to school there while her parents stayed in Osaka. Natazume was enrolled in a boarding school in Britain and found a love for reading and writing. She ended up winning a few school contests and came back to Japan when she was eighteen, having been away since she was twelve. During her education, her parents had visited her a few times a year but they wanted their only child to learn independence and to find her own interests on her own.

Upon her return home, she decided she wanted to go to college in order to pursue a career in editing and publication which was still growing, despite the fact that 90% of books, magazines, etc were all electronically published. Some people were aiming to keep the tangible book alive but Natazume knew times were changing and that fighting against it would be a losing battle so she focused her education on helping writers make the shift to electronic use. She made sure they knew it was better for the environment, easily translatable, and thus it could reach across the globe, something paper books struggled to do without dinging someone's pocketbook. Natazume graduated in Literary Electronics with a minor in Software Self-Editing which was a minor very few colleges could offer since most of the classes were being recently added to universities.

In 2016, when she was 20 and halfway through her aforementioned education, she was tapped to become a Corrector due to her passion for education and acceptance of the changes going on around in her field of writing and publication. The Gvn felt her ease of melting modern changes with the future's budding technology, that she would be capable of using that same insight to help combat the growing online unrest. Natazume began training as a Corrector with the Osaka Sector and quickly grew to find that physically expressing herself was just as thrilling as creating stories with letters and words. As she graduated school at age 23, she had also come into her own as a Corrector.

Since she was showing to be capable of handling a life on her own, her parents moved back to London, leaving their daughter in Osaka to make a life of her own. Natazume was tremendously grateful for their support and that they never pushed her in one way or the other, and that they accepted her will to push herself without outside help. At the age of 24, after spending four years with Osaka and the others, she was transferred to Kyoto due to their lack of candidates. Natazume was used to help train people and polish them up. After shaping up Kyoto's Correctors for six months, she was then tasked to join her old friends in Tokyo in 2020.

Throughout Natazume's life as a Corrector, she had yet to upgrade. When she started off, she was someone who decided to use spells from afar under the then alias, Air. Her magic of course, was entirely wind and air based but after she stock piled enough upgrades and found herself ready to go to Tokyo, she gave herself a new transformation as a knight who wielded a shield and shiny black spear under her name name, Crystal. Her stockpile of upgrades was been used up and she was spending any extra time when she wasn't working part time as a consultant to writers and publishers, she was training to get a grasp her on her new skills as a knight.

Crystal has been with the Tokyo Sector for about two years and as one of the oldest and most seasoned Correctors, has been again tasked to ensure the group are capable and ready to be the shining example to the rest of the world's Correctors. Every holiday, she gets a package filled with sweets from her mother overseas. Though she does miss her parents, she knows if she moved to London and joined their secret group of Correctors, it would be much harder to keep things a secret from those she cares for.

Summary: Set in the near year of 2022, our technology has drastically changed. Now no one gets by without a cell phone. It is their link to everything in their life. Everything is digital and writing by hand has been outdated. Everyone not only has a cell phone, but it's also linked to world wide wi-fi. People use their cell phones to pick outfits, purchase clothes, food, and the like. And with a touch of a button, they have anything they want. They also use their cell phones to communicate with friends, listen to music and find an escape. Those are things we're familiar with right now in 2015. The big difference between now and then is that without a cell phone, a person will die.

Think of the cell phone as a containment for your soul. It's charged by your own life force.

Another thing that is different about the cell phones of 2022 is that they play music but this music is different, it can take people into a digital realm called the DgtWld. (Short for Digital World) You can travel across the world and go shopping, or be taken to a sunset overlooking the Caribbean. The way this is done, is by extracting your mental awareness and relocating it elsewhere while still keeping your body bound to your current relation. Music plays a big part in everyone's life and almost everyone is immersed in it when not working or going to school.

Now with such technological advances, hackers have more opportunities to attack people aince everyone on one massive network. Because of this, the government has passed a secret underground project and has developed an application downloadable to certain people. This application allows the user to go completely into the DgtWld: mind, body and soul. These people are called Correctors who fend off the hackers and viruses that plague the DgtWld and threaten people's lives and well being. Correctors are hand selected by the government in their region, of course each country has only a select amount of Correctors who all fight for one cause and work together when necessary. The Gvn (Government) keeps everything tightly woven together so the public don't worry, so the Correctors are of course kept secret and only exist online.

Correctors have an expiration date though. They are only used to help fight for about 9 years. Some are pulled off earlier. Correctors are recruited at age 20 usually for the sake of being more mature and able to juggle a personal, professional and academic life. Not to mention, their minds and bodies are also more mature and capable of fighting frequently. They are placed under the wing of other Correctors who are at least 3 years their superior. Correctors are not allowed to tell normal civilians that they are Correctors as the general population does not know of the project that passed. Nor should they,

RP Starting Point and Closing Comments: We will be playing characters who are not 20, but around the age of 23-26. Those in school and with jobs will need to balance that out. Consider this a mix of Code LYOKO, Corrector Yui, Madoka Magica and Sailor Moon, dot hack or something. You can be male or female. And a big focus will be your cell phone, music, character development and a darker plot which I have planned already. So any antagonists will be mine to play as GM. After a player has gone through a full "Chapter" of the RP, they have the option to add on other characters who may be antagonists or special temporary cameos.

RP Timeline:

2015 - Japanese scientists unveil a new model of cell phones which link to the user's life force via microchip implanted in the back of their neck. This begins the boom in new cell phone design and soon a world wide wi-fi network is put in place.

2016 - Over 50% of the entire population now are using the new cell phone models which are very affordable. New applications are being released and sold through Apple and other major companies around the world. The general public is beginning to move over to a sleeker, more timely lifestyle of instant gratification.

2017 - The US and the Japanese Governments are the first to pass a secret bill that would allow the country to hire select people to help defend people from the onslaught of recent cyber crimes. Now 75% of the population is linked to the global network which is now giving people in rural areas new job opportunities.

2018 - Now everyone in the world is linked to the DgtWld and every major country is using secret Correctors to help protect their citizens.

2020 - Worldwide utopia seemed to have been reached. Life now centers around one's cell phone and music and most jobs cater to computers and security even though just years ago the world was in chaos with war and economic strife. With the entire world prospering, there is no little to no reported crime, hunger and famine are abolished and everyone seems happy with the progress made with technology for science and medicine.

2022 - Currently there are no signs of unrest, however in the DgtWld, a new era of terrorism is starting to rage against the Correctors and their scrutiny.

Corrector Info: Correctors are humans anywhere from age 20 to 29. They have been approached secretly by their Government usually by phone call, then an email. In the email, they are told to go to their local Gvn Office and once there, they are told of their new job. Refusal is not an option. They are paid well for their services and are not allowed to tell anyone of what they do behind the scenes. They are given applications which cannot be duplicated (read: hacked) and are monitored by the Government.

The application allow the user to transform into a digital being/avatar and enter the DgtWld fully.

They give the Corrector powers to fend off warring viruses and hackers. The App also give the Corrector tasks and other things to do. The powers Correctors are given can be downloaded by the application's store depending on their years in service and their individual performance. The Government wanted the Corrector to have limited customization in the beginning but as they progress, they'd be given more options. The application is called Cnnt (Connect) and it is always scanning the DgtWld for any signs of dismay. Notifications are sent to the cell phone of the user and once they all respond, they must sync up to a computer or cell phone and get to work.

Fighting: I am leaving this a bit open in some manners. I do not intend this to be a fighting roleplay nor do I want us to be going into battle every other page. Weapons and abilities will be up to the user. As stated above, different skills can be downloaded to one's user if you're a Corrector. However what you can do is limited upon how long you've been a Corrector and how well you do your job. Most skills come from their weapon of choice. For example, choosing a katana would grant the user excellent speed and agility with their weapon which would allow them to be very offensive. But then their defense and endurance may then suffer. If a Corrector picks a bow and arrow as a prominent weapon, they would have nice long range attacks.

It is possible to have no weapon and to use your fists. Your weapons are digital and can be reproduced within your body's limits. For example you could wield two katana at once but you couldn't use more than one bow and arrow since that's physically impossible. And if you're injured, regenerating a weapon is harder to do, due to mental and physical strain. But if your weapon breaks or falls into the abyss, you can easily conjure up another weapon with your mind. Your weapons are can be enhanced with elemental powers and may reflect a futuristic feel or something harkening back to fantasy fiction. It's up to you. Keep it within reason though.

As the RP progresses, you will be given chances to change your character's alias, skills and online appearance.

Microchips: Also known as MChips. Everyone has a MChip in the back of their neck. These are linked and synced up to your cell phone, laptop etc. Without a MChip present, you die. The MChip helps regulate your body and health. It helps you connect directly to the internet. It is your lifeline. MChips are implanted right at birth, ever since 2016. They store everything, they're your personal backup. It keeps track of passwords, information, etc. It's your memory bank for everything. Should you wish to listen to music, it allows you to do so without even needing headphones, transmitting music directly to your brain without disturbing anyone around it. It allows you to close your eyes and connect to a new destination across the ocean when you're stuck at the office.

Your MChip is your link to living.

Threats: Pretty self explanatory but why not? Threats of 2022 are much more serious. The stealing of one's identity and Mchip are much more of a concern than ever. Hackers are making more tough digitized threats known as Vs (viruses) that take the form of monsters in the DgtWld which seek out people and can kill them if they're linked by sending them corrupt information which could reach their Mchip and end their life undetected. People do have personal security (like Norton Anti-Virus) but hackers are finding ways to get around it and steal information and even blackmail people. If you can think of a crime, it's happening. Even murders.

The DgtWld: The Digital World is the world wide wi-fi network that was first established in late 2015. Users log in with their cell phone and microchip. They play music and can take their minds to other areas of the world. Humans cannot pull their real bodies into the DgtWld unless they have some sort of virus that is endangering them. The DgtWld is where you access the internet with your phone or laptop's web browser. There are virtual goggles and headphones made for people who want a more personalized experience when using the DgtWld. Normal people (non Correctors) cannot customize any sort of avatar in the DgtWld, as far as they know, that technology hasn't been invented yet. Also, Correctors give themselves an alias to go by so that hackers won't know their name, though if hackers wanted to, they could try to break into the Gvm computers and find out Correctors' identities.

The point of the alias is to just not use real names. Consider it a username.

Phones and Music: Your cell phone is your link to your life and MChip. Your music sets the tone of your life. You can listen to pretty much anything for free in the year 2022 since you pay a music tax yearly that covers the cost already. Your phone texts, browses the web on the go, calls people, records video, and does much more. Without your phone, you cannot access your MChip, phones are replaceable while MChips aren't but the phones are not cheap by any means as the entire world is now making the market change.

Expectations:

We will be using a Round system, something I've done for many years and it ensues people don't get left out or fall behind. The risk is that it can be a slow pace but having used it for a long time, I've learned how to ensure that those we continue to wait on, don't hold us up. A Round system makes sure each player posts once and only once. After you post, you must wait for me to post again before you can. There is no order but everyone needs to post promptly so we can keep moving and keep interactions fluid. The first post will be made by me and everyone will be free to post after that until I post again to end the round/start the next one.

Due to the pace, I expect you to post once a week, at least. If you can post twice (which means you probably post right after me) then that's fine. But a post a week should ensure a Round a week gets done which is slow but for an advanced story, that's not bad.

I expect OOC to be fairly active, even if me or my GMs are MIA, you're free to talk about the RP or things related to it. Or just how things are going for you personally, if that's your thing. If you're quiet in the OOC, it makes me think you're not interested or are too busy. Communication is awesome, you can never do it too much! An active OOC tends to lend itself well to an active IC.

I am not your mother, I won't hassle you for a post. I don't like to be hassled either. I have a life, I have threads to tend to and papers to write. I'm at the age where I assume everyone else will get things done if they really want to. If you need to drop out though, you have to tell me. If we're waiting too long, you'll be skipped and written off but for the love of all things awesome, don't look at me to clean up your mess. If you sign up, I trust you're able to manage time and motivation. Not motivated? Do something, say something but I am not going to go around to every player and give out feedback slips for you guys to fill out. Communication is key but it's not all on my shoulders.

Posts should be about 4-5 paragraphs but it is up for discussion.

RP/CS will be put here before they're added to the tab. When they are, you can edit your CS in here so it's no longer a mess of text because cleanliness does matter around here. And make sure you make a character that isn't a copy of another that's been approved. You can be unique and have fun with these powers. I'd also love a balance of male and female characters. If I need to repost another sister RP for this, I will. That one was called Hackers and the other was Dazzling. Both take place in the same world as this but both have us playing different variations of Correctors in the DgtWld. I'd love a modest group because it's easier to manage but just submit until the top says otherwise!

If you have any questions for me or my GMs, let us know. The sooner this gets off the ground, the better. I know it's a tight time for some people but let's do our best.

GM Notes: All of our characters will be very familiar with one another. They've been on the same team together so they should all live in Tokyo, Japan, from different areas. If your character is from Japan but raised elsewhere, they need to have been back in Japan before they're able to be recruited as a Corrector as the Gvn would only call on those who are integrated in their country and live a stable life.

Please fill out the two sheets below and I'll add those approved will then be able to post to the CS tab. Do not post yours in there until you're approved. Failure to comply will result in me veing very disappointed, confused, upset and hungry.

Bump.
Aha, thanks for the playlist. Nothing beats enjoying some classic tunes!
A large part of Katniss wanted to return to the city.

It could provide them with ample shelter and a base to collect themselves. It was risky but it was possible. Anything was possible if it meant staying alive. As the pair continued to thunder towards any outlet of safety, a horrifying shriek was heard but Katniss didn't dare waste energy or movement to look to where it had originated from. Right now, they couldn't get distracted by anything else or anyone else. It seemed the mysterious mist was capable of moving and she knew who was clearly behind the blatant attack. Sure, she knew there would be more things thrown at her but she didn't think it would happen so soon.

"Come on!" Katniss urged, not wanting to let the pesky Gamemakers win. Not so soon, but not ever if it could be helped. Up and to the left, she saw that the few trees were turning into something else, like a wheat field. She was sure some kind of fire could be spread but if it could keep the mist at bay, she'd take that gamble. Thankfully Haymitch's idea of climbing trees could be scraped, as she wasn't very confident in the notion of doing something with haste, only to corner themselves at a dangerous height. For now they had to run until they couldn't anymore, or until the mist finally got them, or when it relented, if ever.

Her heart was racing as Haymitch called out, telling her to run faster. Something was wrong. She craned her neck to see it right on top of them. "Shit!" She sped up and saw the dry long strands of grass inching closer and closer. She leaned back and grabbed hold of Haymitch's hand and pulled him along. Finally, she could feel her ankles being tickled by the beige colored grass and she turned to see the mist linger in place before retreating slowly. She finally allowed her knees to rest as she fell to them and then rolled backward onto her butt as she tried to catch her breathe without dry heaving too much. "Are...are you alright?" She asked him.

The mist hadn't gotten her but she was sure it had gotten Haymitch, and based on the screams they had heard not too long along, she was sure he was hurt. She could tell but she was just being polite in asking while she caught her breath. When she finally did, she patted the dry dirt beside her so he could sit down for her to take a look at what injury he had sustained. She had almost lost him, so easily and she was ready to be alone. As much as she wanted to crack a joke, she didn't have the guts to be stupid right now. "Come on, let me see." She said softly and pulled her pack around to her lap.

Prim's skepticism was understandable, but unhelpful.

As silly and as implausible as the idea was, it was all he could think of right now. If she had a better idea or a reason to move on, he'd listen to her. But Gale knew the value and rarity of finding a live creature in their situation and he would want to do anything to give them an advantage, as opposed to often being at a blind disadvantage. They couldn't exactly rely on Peeta for food and drink. They had to survive on their own and while Prim was still new to knife throwing, he trusted her far more than himself when it came to wielding knives and other small delicate things. "Don't worry too much." He tried to assure her.

Prim gave a vocal cue as well as taking out one of her knives. He offered a smile before he looked back to the tricky task at hand. He then went after the tiny little fur ball. The squirrel ran down and Prim made her first attempt. He didn't expect her to get it right off the bat, but if she kept up with it, he was sure she'd be able to have another chance to try again. On the other hand, he knew they couldn't spend too much time or effort on the task or it wouldn't be worth it in the end, even if they were successful. He went after it and Prim did as well. She managed to take it down and he slid his sword back away behind him, in its sheath. "Good job." He huffed softly.

The effort wasn't too tiring on his body but it had been enough to get his juices pumping again. He was ready to keep moving now. "Sure." He gave her a nod and crouched down by the animal and quickly twisted its head. As he was putting it away for safe keeping, for nightfall, they heard a very troubling, chilling cry. He quickly rose and looked to Prim, hoping she was okay. Trouble was coming and she wasn't sure if it was in the form of a blood thirsty Career or some kind of beastly creature with fangs and wings, or some kind of lab created monster. "Right, we'll keep moving then." They had no choice unless they wanted to be reckless.

He started to jog but felt an odd drop in temperature. Why? Another person screamed and he swallowed. Where was the danger coming from!? He motioned for Prim to keep close to him. "We'll lose our bearings if we're not careful." What was important, was staying together and being safe. The outermost area with the cliffs could wait. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a glittering wave of silver mist coming toward him. At first, it didn't seem all too bad. "That can't be it-right?" He laughed a little but as soon as it began to descend, he felt a searing pain touch his forehead. "Run! Run!" He yelled and put a hand to his head as he turned to get them as far away as possible. The skin was already beginning to redden and form boils, panic was now fueling him as he knew full immersion would be a painful death for sure.
That one sounds pretty good~

Good! I'm gonna finish your post and hit the hay. I've made nice progress today too.

Yay for us! :3
It was good of James to put it away, some guys would flip her off or take the piss out by mocking her accent but at least with James, he listened.

"Hey, Dumbledore could take on Galdfalf so watch it boyo." She wagged a finger at him.

He then grabbed her hand and pulled her along, forcing her eyes to roll. He then decided he could dance a bit, or make an attempt at least, which she'd get a chuckle out of. He then brought up the food though. "Oy, you are a troublesome date ya know?" She teased him. "I didn't promise anything but I will get us food because I am a lady and treat ma mates kindly, thank you very much." She grinned and tossed him a wink while sticking out her tongue. Some things didn't change but she was chuffed to bits that he was standing up for himself more and being more outspoken. She often had to steer them to do something and she sometimes felt like he hardly contributed to ideas but now, it seemed like James was more comfortable in his own skin, able to be more vocal about joking and what he wanted. Of course, back then they joked plenty but at least now it seemed as though James was more upfront, than shy like some wallflower. And for that, Sasha was very pleased.

Then she realized she had used the word "date" but really it had slipped out as a joke.

She opened her mouth to correct herself but though it would be weird to do so, and that he surely knew it was a joke.

The last thing either of them needed, was to get bogged down in awkward fuck ups.

"Anyway, yeah, food, come on." She nodded her head toward where she assumed the food truck would be, without too long of a line hopefully. They got their food within fifteen minutes and found an open bench, as it seemed most folks were dancing and taking video. Sasha had ordered some Korean taco trio and a big cup of lightly spiked lemonade. "It's a bit camp but," She looked from the scene of rowdy people a little younger than them who were taking chugs from a neon pink flash while dancing. "it's home." She looked back to James and snorted. "I know it was cliche to do but we should go up on the Eye and get a good view of this place with all the lights. I'm sure loads have changed but most people here are stuck in their ways unless they have to be PC." She commented.

"I still need to head out to mum and da' but wanted to when I'm settled." She added. "I wonder the old school looks like. If they ended up remodeling it, I'll eat my hat." She complained. "They had such outdated crap...those little snots should have to deal with ancient tech just like we did eh?" Sasha laughed a little more and took a few long sips from her plastic cup before digging back into her beef soft taco, enjoying the savory taste. It was salty, sour, sweet and had a rich filling flavor that chips couldn't beat. Not by a long shot. When she finished her big bite, she licked her lips and sat up slightly to get some stray strands of hair out of her face. "Mmm...ya know, I'm glad you agreed to hang out." She knew it would have its own snags but right now, this just felt right.

Sure, her time overseas had been amazing and unforgettable but home would always be in London with her friends and family. Sasha was sure she'd go back to soaring to other destinations but it was just very reassuring to know she could come home and find things as they should be. "It feels good to be back." She nodded slightly, thinking about how the weekend or week visits here and there, couldn't compare to finally settling back to the gray island of misery. "No one knew how to make a proper cuppa." She told James. "People kept trying to show me their rubbish accents or use our slang...it was awful." She took another drink and a bite before continuing. "Or they said I was cute and asked if I knew the Queen, it's nice to be back home where everyone avoids eye contact and knows how to make polite chit chat if needed." She still wished James would catch the travel bug, but so far, she wasn't giving up that notion.

"Of course you know how they are..." She considered. "I think Japan or China is next on my list of places...you should tag along!"
Things had certainly gone a different route than what Holmes had anticipated. While before, he was vaguely curious, now he was certainly more intrigued and more determined to get to the bottom of what was beginning to unfold in front of them, smelling rather pungent in fact. The man teetered from his left foot and then to his right as his friend began to investigate the new found corpse of the young boy. The man had made a comment and crouched down to take a closer look. Holmes looked back behind him, thankful that no other locals had been curious or concerned by the sound of a woman's broken hearted exclamations. He was sure the woman was in good hands with Irene and Mary, given the tone the day had suddenly become enveloped in. He would have warned Mary or Martha to watch for the woman's sticky fingers but right now, he was rather certain that Irene Adler would cease to be a sneaky criminal and take the guise of a shoulder to lean on. John soon drew gloves for sanitary reasons and continued with his own musings. Holmes knew this must be hard for John. While not every case was this gory and awful, Holmes often wondered how the sights on the battlefield had effected John's poor mind. Seeing such a horror, and near such a happy holiday, must be quite tormenting.

As much as Holmes was flaky, he did try to keep John happy with their friendship and seeing such carnage, Holmes was sure that John might lose sleep because of this. He was more sure however, that the poor mother having to outlive her son and see any presents remain untouched, was immersed in an even worse flurry of depression.

Holmes hoped the boy didn't suffer terribly long. By John's estimate however, the boy had been dead from a day to perhaps two. It didn't give them much consolation but at the least, it could give them a lead as to who was where in the area, and who might want to take apart humans and do some sort of weird carnal experimentation. Whoever it was, Holmes was sure they weren't in the right mind at all, which only meant that they needed to make haste. "They were very crude with the stitching." He nodded when John mentioned the use of a hacksaw. No medical professional would do such a thing, it had to be someone else, clearly a very deranged and desperate man. Then John rose and turned to him, mentioning that the incident was done in order to provoke something. A very interesting notion but Holmes wanted John to run with that thought himself now. "Whoever is behind this, is a man who is in dire need of something. A rabbit...it could represent luck, good fortune, rebirth, quickness...quick quick quick." He looked back to the body and noted that only certain parts of the animal had been attached. No ears or fur, just the heart and paws. "He wanted to test the animal's speed...by giving it to the boy." He concluded.

"I believe Charlie could be reunited very shortly with his canine companion but it's not one I would look forward to with earnest." He frowned and patted John before trotting back to the three women. By now, Mary had already been into the complex to bring back a glass of water for Martha from one of her neighbors inside who had heard the distressed commotion. Seeing the two finish, Mary got up and closed the gap between them, electing to meet them halfway as to spare the poor mother any more trouble. Mary inquired as to how bad it was but Holmes held up his hand, even he knew it was a sight not meant for the eyes of Mary, nor Adler. "To describe it as unpleasant would be a rude and disrespectful understatement." Holmes told Mary and glanced back to John, sure that he would agree. "I would not wish for you to see such a thing." He said. Though Peter was returned home but in a state where he could be forgotten, overlooked or easily stumbled upon. It was interesting indeed. "To have his own mother find it, and so close to Christmas too..." For a moment he could reflect once more upon the timing of these kidnappings and heinous experiments and wonder what sparked someone so mad, to begin such a barbaric endeavor.

It seemed Mary was slowly following along his train of thought.

"Come to think of it..." Mary began to say. "I really can't think of a string of such vanishings ever happening, not even around the same time last year. Whoever is doing these...these things, has been prompted by some event or realization." Mary mentioned. "In the books I've read, these criminals either develop the urge over time, or something happens to push them to beyond the brink." She said. "I think the man we're looking for, isn't calculated, but in fact frantic, almost afraid of something."

Martha got to her feet but then sat back down again. Mary glanced behind her shoulder and then looked to John and Sherlock once more, fully aware the odds were already dwindling for Charlie. "I'm not giving up." She assured them. "I spoke to Martha," She began to say. "from what she could tell me," Mary had been as gentle as possible when it came to getting anything useful out of the woman. She knew first hand how hard it was to swallow sorrow and be forced to move on for the greater good. "the only enemy she had was the landlord but Peter was supposedly doing errands for the man to help pay for the rent, why he'd be behind this would make no sense to me." She shrugged a little. It wasn't much help but she was well aware that the next step would be to figure out a connection for more disappearances. Like where they were all last seen, or if they all knew someone, or if they all had money trouble. For now, she was sure they needed to keep moving if Martha was inconsolable at the moment. "If we leave Martha, give her space, we could return and she might have remembered something important."

"But trust me, hanging around here and expecting her to remember important facts, isn't going to do her or us any good. Certainly not Charlie." Mary said firmly, even more determined to keep up and be helpful in some way. Holmes finally tore his eyes away from the pressing blond governess to look to his medically trained friend, finding himself slightly more impressed than when he first laid eyes on the ordinary looking woman, who appeared to be playing a role unfit for herself. Even though Holmes wasn't sure about Mary yet, he still could commend her tenacity. He was sure most women would cry or cower in the face of adversity but Mary, like Irene, had guts to go along with her heart and brain and he had to cut her some slack. It seemed she was trying to keep up like John, and Holmes was hoping Mary would be an asset, as opposed to a liability. And of course Adler was for now, an asset but still a wild card, often unpredictable, which was why he was so fond of her acquired charms. Holmes gave a thoughtful nod finally, agreeing they should leave. "I was thinking it might be better if we split up." Mary mentioned. It had been Irene's idea back on the stoop but Mary had been asked to present it, and so she was. "Perhaps Mr. Holmes, you and Irene could go question this landlord and Mr. Watson and I could follow one of the other leads I had spoken to yesterday."

She turned her blue eyes up toward the sky and saw no new signs of rain, but London was unpredictable, yet often soggy.

"We could meet up back at the manor for a warm lunch in an hour?" Mary looked back to them.

A smile flashed upon Sherlock's face and he swung an arm around John's shoulder. "I'm sure Watson will be fine under your supervision, Ms. Mortsan." He teased. "He loves getting himself into trouble, do be careful."

"Of course." Mary shook her head slightly, rather certain it was Sherlock who ought to come with a bold warning label. Mary then turned and went back to Irene and Martha to explain what would happen now. Irene and Mary helped Martha up and get back into her flat before they headed back outside. "I hope I'm not too forward but...I've caught you and Mr. Holmes eyeing each other...do you two have a...history?" She gave her friend a sly smile as they stepped back out into the cool winter morning. "You two must make...a rather exciting match." Mary considered with a chuckle. Part of her was slightly envious. But of course, she was fond of Irene, even in just knowing the woman a short time. She was sure Irene had good judgement and she just wanted her friend to be happy. Everyone deserved happiness, after all.

While the women were off for a few moments, Holmes dropped his arm from John, now actually feeling like a protective mother hen. As often as they squabbled, Holmes found comfort in having someone by his side. Irene was fine company and like minded with cunning and wit, but he didn't want to send John off with a stranger. Of course John could handle himself, Holmes knew that, deep down. "Watch yourself, there are rumors of people being kidnapped." He said as he took out his pipe and began to fiddle with the matches, trying to light it.
I'm not big on oatmeal raisin but maybe if I made them myself, they might be better. Do you have a recipe for any by any chance?

Oh wow, congrats! Way to go, focusing is the best way to go, knock em out of the park.
