Some ideas of mine:

Doctor x Patient
Doctor x Nurse
Mother's boyfriend x Daughter
Father's best friend x Daughter
Online friend x Online friend who could be friends in real life, strangers or enemies

I would prefer to double as well. I'm preferable with MxF but may be swayed to do MxM or FxF if it's not all about "taboo" and that the characters matter, not just the gender of them.
1. She's a writer and graphic designer for a catering company. While she loves food, she herself has zero talent in the kitchen so she decides she can at least make the company look as good as it tastes. She would be typically positive and upbeat about life, usually busy with one thing or another and tends to wrap herself up in too many projects. She would be someone who likes to give things 110% but is well aware that you can't be great at everything. She'd be someone who has a steady job, a decent boyfriend, a simple home life and has dreams of publishing her own books, be them travel guides, cook books, children books or whatever. She would be someone who is up for any adventure and happy to try something at least once. She'd be afraid of heights, bugs and knives, after some silly incident in the kitchen at work (she's not allowed in there kitchen anymore). Age 20 to 26

2. She is a scientist, someone who loves genetics and chemistry, she's fascinated by ever facet of the world around her. She did well in academics and currently travels the world doing research on how humans evolve. She is somewhat of a loner in the sense that when she opens her mouth, most people tend to distance themselves. Sometimes her intelligence can bother people but as she has been traveling, she's learning from her peers to think less with her brain and more with her heart. She is by no means a creative soul. She can enjoy a symphony but wouldn't be able to write one herself. She had a normal life growing up but due to her job, she hasn't been in touch with her family as often as she should. She's intuitive which is as close to being creative as she'll probably get. She'd be able to converse with the Doctor and learn actual life lessons that don't require a white lab coat. Age: 23 to 26

3. She's a teacher at a local elementary school. She married young but quickly divorced when her husband decided things weren't working out anymore. She grew up in foster care until she was five and was then adopted by a nice couple who owned a farm. Her upbringing was uneventful and she learned to enjoy and even expect, a wholesome life. She married her high school sweetheart and tried to go to school but he was unsupportive and so she blames part the failing marriage on her career choice. Even so, it's the path the choose so she stuck with it, despite being in a very odd place in her life. She wants to reevaluate her goals in life and now that the shine is off the apple, she can do whatever she wants. She can find a good man, get married, have kids, make apple pies, live the dream, or she can figure out that life isn't about what others expect from you, but what you expect from yourself. Age: 25 to 28

4. She's a big geek, a big believer in aliens and whatever else is out there in space. She has walls covered in posters and other memorabilia. She is single and living with her parents due to financial issues. Gaming, writing and drawing are things she excels out. Sometimes she can get sidetracked, okay, she often does. She has a good heart though and currently is trying to look for work. Having majored in Philosophy (big mistake there) she hasn't much to go on so all she can do is apply to crummy fast food places or kiosks at the local mall. Despite this odd rut she's in, she still has an unbridled passion for science fiction and outer space. She's curious and often happy to debate with people. She's someone who would get into trouble every now and then but would work hard to fight her way out of it, since she knows life is too vast and short to be bumbling around. Age 23 to 25

Any one stick out to you? I'm leaning toward 2 since I love a challenge but what are your thoughts? (I'm probably leaning toward two since I'm still on a high from watching this week's Orphan Black and I may have based the idea off of one or two of the clones in it...>_>)

Spectrum of Sapphires

She was many things to different people.

To her parents, she was their only child.

To her friends, she was a connoisseur of books and knowledge, often keeping to herself.

To the people in the city, she was a princess.

To the scum of the earth who prowled the night-scape, she was a shadowy assassin.

If one thing held true above all else, it was that Urkwia was a young woman who defined the art of unquenchable thirst. She was always hungry for justice, for knowledge, for loyalty, for never backing down even with your back against the wall and the odds of favor heavily stacked against you. Urkwia was someone who had many colors but the brightest color of them all was certainly sapphire: blue. Blue, the color of tranquility and submission in most eyes, but for her, it was more passionate than any red, more alluring than any emerald hue. Urkwia was someone who wanted to harness the power of the sapphires which were so abundant in the city and the country of which her family ruled with fair hand and gentle ear.

Urkwia often holed herself away to experiment.

And it was in one of these experiments, that the princess uncovered the gems held a power beyond her wildest imagination. Not only could they make magic appear out of thin air, but they could also be used for time travel. She decided to continue the tests and in doing so, her path would continue to cross a certain male in another realm. Their homes weren't so different. He lived in a city, as did she. His world was full of fighting, as was hers. His country was ruled by one person, as was hers. He was passionate, as was she. And his world was often fascinated by the idea of magic, just as she was. As for her power, it was a line between those who saw magic as evil and those who saw it as a blessing.

Magic in Urkwia's world was not common and could only be used with the help of stones, such as sapphires.

The boy in question comes into the story as a partner to Urkwia. He has many talents and titles just as Urkwia does. He is someone who can help unearth the massive potential of magic across the world. He and Urkwia will embark on a journey in the name of exploration and along the way, they will meet new people and gain new allies and enemies. It's a classic quest situation, with plenty of wiggle room for having fun the modern era, as well as in the fantasy era. I will leave your character's traits and talents in your hands. Is he skilled at swords? Is he charming? Is he sneaky but has a soft spot for kitties? I want someone who can have fun with me, this is a fun plot which should give us lots of outlets to do what we want. We can have a more longterm spin on it and have our characters passing each other notes through the dimensions before they meet, it all depends on what you have going on with him.

I ask that you be active and be advanced in writing.

I want someone who is creative and takes the lead with me, not someone who is keen to follow and putter along aimlessly.
If Sasha comes out of her shell, she might be down for it. Hah. Devon wouldn't enjoy it, he'd probably do tech or throw popcorn at people during rehearsals cause he's too cool for that shit. I have half my post done but there's been some lame ass drama on the site with some other partners either not posting or neglecting to tell me things that I should have been told about weeks ago...and it's stupid. And it makes coming on here a pain. -____-

Hopefully you're not in a 'people hating' mood...

I must say the third idea is the most interesting, I think it could provide some nice mature dialogue for the Doctor while also able to play off of one another when a dire situation arises. Is that alright with you? I wasn't expecting so many options, I was pleasantly surprised! Should I whip up a few ideas for you and see what you like best, seems only fair? And a change up in dynamics (in terms of who I'd typically play) would be refreshing.
One more slot open.

I like that idea. We could have that everyone that was trapped was moved to a hospital or something like that.

Which idea? The first one in regards to doubling?

I'd like to try for a Pokemon themed RP. Do you ave any ideas?

At the moment, no. Is there a region you're fond of? Looking for slice of life or something more dark and gritty?

Oh poo. I never saw that you replied. I'm sorry about that. I wish the forum had notifications! I just happened upon this thread again and lo and behold, saw that I had posted here.So are you still up for something?Me as Hermione and you as Harry?and me as Neville and you as Luna?I don't want the plot to be too dark or anything. I actually had a plot in mind, but it would be a little more indepth then each of us playing 2 romantic pairs. So here is the idea.... don't worry if you don't like it.:) *hides*

Babies are def not up my alley, I can say that much straight away. ^^;

I did see your other thread though, took a poke around though I'm not sure if anything stood out to me.

We could always mix and match ideas or "needs" and see what happens?
It would be a thorn in any GM's side I'd think, to to be under the impression all submissions were for actual permanent spots and then to be notified right before we start that it wasn't the case after all. I think I have a right to be a bit miffed that this "after thought" wasn't brought to my attention sooner, it is kind of an important bit of information as a GM, to know if a character is intended to be a drifter. So yes, I assumed she was coming on for the actual relocation and not for a one time thing...
Alright, if you think that'll work.

I guess I'll pick the first "episode" then..."Night Terrors" or "Partners in Crime" are in the same general time setting. I'm cool with either of those.

Should we kick off soon then?
Are you considering the practice of magic itself be different in the regions of the country, rather than just the elements themselves? I don't mind going in more depth, granted we can keep track of everything. If you're into that, we could probably map out the general areas of the US, be it north/south/east/west? I'm a sucker for chants, magic circles, probably alchemy (not just magic circles but with herbs and natural stuff) and possibly potion making or voodoo? For the south perhaps.
