Going to a dance was pretty intimidating.

Then again, so was going to high school and yet she was doing fine so far.

The reassurance was that she had her friends with her; Devon, Garret and Ami. That made dealing with finding classes and studying, a lot better. And of course the dance was no exception. Amity was sweet enough to offer her home as a place to get ready for the big night. It wasn't a big formal dance or anything but it would be their first of many. So she had to get used to the whole affair of getting ready and pretending to be not only graceful but also social. These were her friends though, nothing to worry about. But at the dance, there was the very slim possibility that someone else might ask her to dance. What would she do then? Dance?!

"I'm...really nervous." She knew she shouldn't be, that a dancer was harmless enough. "Thank you for helping me get ready." She had on a nice casual black spaghetti strapped dress. It had white lace around the bottom which reached her knees and then the dress had small lace decorative buttons running up it, though rather than be center, they were off slightly. She then had on simple black flats and her short blond hair had grown slightly but it was wavy and didn't need much work. "You don't have to be a girly princess if you don't want to. In some of the books I've been reading, there's one who is also a great fighter, who saves a lot of people and doesn't fit the normal parameters of a typical shy figurehead."

Sasha couldn't help but ramble slightly. "I'm sure we'll have though." She said, changing the topic. "We can all go out and maybe get some ice cream afterwards." Sasha suggested and glanced to Amity's mother who seemed okay with the idea. The four of them would be getting their own rides to and from the school but from what Sasha heard, Garret was with Devon and they'd probably go together, just like her and Amity. Amity's mother was really nice and the blond was coming out of her shell. Amity was a great friend and she hoped they could stick it out together through high school and beyond. Part of Sasha still wanted to ask about Ami and Devon but before she could bring it up, it was time to go and meet the boys.

No one would think guys worry about dances, nah that's something girls do right?

Wrong.

Devon wasn't as flustered as Sasha was, but he was a little concerned. There was a lot of pressure for a guy to be nice but not too nice or else that would come off creepy. And not to mention there was some level of competition going on. Some of the older guys at the school prided themselves on having the hottest most popular date in school. Some guys liked to show off and dance while others liked to sneak in a flash or something stupid like that. Devon wasn't into any of those stupid things and he holed that he'd never become some meat-head jock that used dances to show off. But then again the main point of a dance was to socialize and dance. Being an active boy, he could do those things with an arm tied behind his back.

He wasn't about to attempt that though. The redhead was most concerned about acting and appearance. His parents said he could wear dark jeans and a button up shirt and he'd be fine. He didn't need a tie so that was good. He had invited Garret over since they were friends and he knew the girls would be together getting ready so why not call in for backup and make sure everyone was on the same page and not about to go AWOL? Devon had on a dark green shirt and dark jeans. He looked over to see how Garret was coming along. Devon had sneakers on, he didn't see anything wrong with that. It was a dance, a school dance. He wanted to be comfortable, could you blame the kid?

"You look a little nervous." He said, patting Gary on the shoulder. "You'll be fine, you'll get to the party, we'll meet the girls, talk, snack and have fun. No pressure at all." Devon assured him. He knew Garret, like Sasha, was a bit of a shy turtle but Devon honestly believed that going to the dance would be beneficial for them. They were so wound up and shy that they needed to let some steam out. He wondered if he and Ami should take them to play laser tag together. Deep down, Sasha and Gary had to have some wild animal pent up inside of them. With a grin, he headed off to get in the car as it was time to go. The ride was quick and quiet. When they got out, Devon's mother gave him some money and said to have fun. They got out and headed off to the Gym where the music was pumping.

( A lil short. )
So he knew of sapphires as well?

Interesting.

Urkwia slowed down and began to think about the event that had just occurred. Since she didn't get close to the spinning disc of energy, she didn't have much to go on as far as ideas went. But was it possible that it was a link to another place? If neither of them had heard of one another, was it really so far-fetched? It was a leap to suggest, so she kept her thought to herself as she walked along the cobblestone road. Everything around them was sturdy and strong, to not just block any enemies but to also keep its own people safe and comfortable. But they were a long era of peace and prosperity. No one thought much about war, if there were moments of rest, they were usually condensed to two near by villages or clans.

Nearing the pub, she turned to Telio who asked if this was customary of someone with such status. "My family and I do not draw a very thick line between us and the people we serve." She explained. "While we have an image to uphold and vows to keep, we do not distances ourselves from the people. We go out and travel and we speak to people and should there be a problem, we do our best to fix it, rather than to allow Knights and Servants to become our masks. I hope this doesn't make you uncomfortable. If you'd rather be taken to the castle, I would understand." Of course it was one thing to mingle with the commoners and a whole other to dash around the city at night in a heroic disguise.

Her parents needn't know that though.

Some of the men who passed them in the street waved to her and she gave a slight wave to them and looked back to the self proclaimed explorer. There were many questions she had for him in regards to his origin and reason for stumbling upon the area. The odds of him studying sapphires and exploring the world and coming into contact with her were so slim. It couldn't be a coincidence. It had to be connected. She looked around and saw that things were still a bit busy near the pub, as most fishermen and workers felt no need to wait until sundown to enjoy a cool drink. She led them down an alleyway so there would be less noise to distract her. Digging for her notebook, she flipped through the pages she had just recently marked down.

"I have been working with these stones for several years and I've never seen what I saw today and I think it means something. You're involved somehow and I need to know what happened before you saw the vortex. What did you do, exactly?" She asked him. Urkwia had hoped that this would be able to wait but she was unable to contain herself any longer. Ideally, she wanted to get them both fed and take him back to her personal library and lab but it couldn't wait. She couldn't wait. In the back of her mind, she could hear her father scolding her for being rude and narrow minded, that she ought to be polite and tend to her guest's needs, rather than her own. "I'm sorry, I got carried away." Urkwia glanced down at her notes and told herself to pull back a little.

A Princess had to be polite. Polite wasn't what she was being right now. She was being a pest and a pest didn't get anywhere in the world. "I think if we get something to eat, we'll both feel a little better." Urkwia considered, putting a hand to her forehead to note how warm she was thanks to the heat, as well as the odd situation and encounter. "I think we could get some food and take it back to the castle." That would be a good enough compromise for them both. She turned back around and led them back toward the pub. Upon entering, many of the drunkards raised their mugs in greeting. One of them falling off his seat in the process. Many of his friends laughed and Urkwia shook her head. "Gavin, you really need to stop getting an early start on your drinking."

She walked over and helped pull him to his feet. She took a step back and moved to the bar and ordered a selection of meat, cheese, bread, fruit and wine. Then she asked that it be prepared to be taken back to the castle. The barmaid mentioned that Telio looked a bit out of place and agreed that it would be best. Urkwia was keen to get back as well. As much she enjoyed the people, the stress was making her even more unsettled than usual. Too much chit chat made her uneasy but her parents insisted that she go out more and get to know people's names and family history. And she was doing her best. But with the fantastic breakthrough, she was more keen to put social activism behind her so she could continue to focus on the sapphires and their untapped power.

Once a basket had been fixed for her, she carried it and motioned for Telio to come along. "So where exactly are you from? What are you most known for?" She asked as the led them back to the castle which was in the middle of the city. It was large and held many events for the city. Many festivals and celebrations took place around the castle which would be decorated for every occasion. "I have a theory that sounds pretty crazy but I think the vortex generated," however that happened. "transported you from your home to mine...I'm not sure how far that is but we've never heard of one another...and my gut is telling me that whatever happened...however it happened, it's not a fluke. At the event in question, I was hitting two dark colored sapphires together and saw wisps-sparks of blue energy-"

Her story was cut off by them approaching the main entrance to the castle. "Home sweet home." She glanced to Telio and smiled before a guard came and retrieved her belongings.

"I'll put these in your study." He said.

"Thank you, could you set up our food? I'd like to show my honored guest around." Urkwia smiled and kept walking. The inside of the castle was spacious but decorated with gold, red and blue. The family crest was an owl with gold feathers. There were paintings and sculptures and books everywhere. "We don't have to meet my mother and father just yet, I think you and I have things to discuss before we need to bring them in. To be honest, they were never too happy about my obsession with our sapphires." She admitted with a sheepish smile as she descended down a long spiral stone staircase to where her library and lab were. On the floor above was where her private quarters were. The bulk of the eastern part of the castle was hers and while she had friends over, it was rare for her to be seen with a male, which was why many of the maids and servants were watching them out of the corner of their eyes.

"If you need a place to stay, you can look no further than here, we have plenty of room and I'm sure your knowledge with travel will be a great benefit for us, so please don't think that you're any sort of inconvenience." She said, being quite upfront as she found their food laid out on a round oak table, just as she asked. Urkwia felt some sense of protectiveness, as if she were responsible for the male falling into her life, while it was a bit weird and troublesome at first, her mind was spinning at all the ideas and now she had a second brain to pick. Someone who was invested in the stones! "I don't have many guests here so try to understand I am a bit out of depth in regard to...acting properly."

That didn't come out right.

Shaking her head, she adjusted her glasses and motioned for him to sit and make himself comfortable, wondering why she stumbled on her words when she had been doing okay before. "Do you have anything you wish to ask me? Please, feel free." She smiled as she poured them both wine, preferring to serve them herself, rather than to bring someone down into a place she worked. If she ever caught someone trying to tidy up, she'd give them a quick wave and frantically try to fix whatever it was that had been moved by someone else. Urkwia was a private person, a bit too caught up in her own work at times, she knew she needed to talk to people more and see the word and she wanted to but deep down, she was scared. And a Queen couldn't be that.
Ha okay then.
Someone unwanted (in my 1x1 with someone else) posted in the OOC, can you hide the post or something? I don't mind people trying to make friends with me but butting into an OOC isn't a preferred means of doing so. ^^;

This one here.
Erm hello there, fellow Whovian. ^^;

Can we help you? lol

(can you not post in our OOC? If you wanna PM me, I'm cool with that.)

I got a post up, if I need any edits, let me know.
James' hug was quite welcomed.

"Thanks haha." She smiled nervously and picked up her things. "It's okay." She said, her heart racing. Now to breathe. How did you do that again? Something about lungs and air. As they got ready to go back home,he offered her his jacket, saying since she paid for their pizza, that she couldn't get cold. She smiled, "Pizza doesn't equal a jacket but thank you." She said lightly. They headed back and he mentioned that today was a big deal. "Oh yes, paintball, pizza, getting asked out, and getting a baby brother...next I'll be elected as Prime Minister or something." She joked. He asked if they ought to hold hands. Sasha really didn't know. They were both novices when it came to clumsy romantic gestures. "Okay." She took his hand, lacing her fingers with his.

As they walked, she decided she preferred clasping their hands together, rather than lacing fingers. It felt a little more comfortable at the moment. When they got back to his house and got inside, they were greeted by James' mother who was terribly upset. She quickly let go of James' hand, about to explain what had happened when the woman calmed down and mentioned that her father had called. And that she'd be in a guest room. 'What do they think is going to happen if we share a room together? We slept in the same tent just fine a month ago. What's so different now?' She couldn't help but ponder. But she just nodded, thanking the woman because it was only right to be grateful for someone helping her, rather than protest something that shouldn't matter.

And so the dance approached...

Between the arrival of her brother, Devon, and the dance, Sasha and James went out a few times together. After their third outing to get some tea, they declared it an actual date. Considering they got along so well, they didn't need to appear so nervous about. Even so, they weren't too sure how to act around each other. With a new label, they weren't sure what to change to make the shift between friends and more than friends. But by the time the dance came around, they had been out enough to get used to holding hands and joking as usual. The girl couldn't help but bask in the warmth of James and his presence. His smile was utterly fantastic and they had loads of fun together, despite being in unknown water.

The weather had changed and was pretty windy and cold, as was the usual for the city.

So her options for looking cute at the dancer were slightly limited. Sasha had a dress which could work though. While her dad was taking care of Devon, her mum helped her with her hair. "It's getting long."

"I like it, it keeps me warm." Sasha smiled as her mother brushed through her hair, the two ladies standing in front of the mirror. "Did you and dad ever go to dances?"

"Oh yes, he wasn't very good but we still had fun." Her mother replied and began to tie a nice plum ribbon around her daughter's neck. She seemed to like the bright colors like fuchsia and aqua and orange. Her daughter was pretty lively so it was only natural that she'd enjoy colors that reflected her energy and spirit. "You and James will have a lovely time, no matter what happens. I'm sure he'll be nothing short of a perfect gentleman. Or else." She laughed and looked at Sasha up and down. Sasha had on aqua tights and a matching color dress with white lacy frills. Under that was a pink long sleeve blouse and around her neck was a simple ribbon. "Don't wear your glasses tonight, let him see those pretty eyes of yours." Her mother said, causing Sasha to blush.

As Sasha headed for the door, her father set down the baby in his crib and went out to take a look at his daughter before she slipped through his fingers. "My baby girl, you look absolutely stunning."

"Daaaad." She rolled her eyes and looked off. He hugged her and handed her some money for after the dance. "We want you back no later than ten tonight, call if something happens." He said and she put the money in her wallet, thankfully her dress had pockets so it could hold her wallet, along with her cell phone. "Do you need an umbrella? A jacket?"

"I'm fine I'm fine." She waved a hand. She was warm enough and felt fine. Just then there was a knock and Sasha rushed to the door before either of her parents could. "Heeeey." Sasha said and was about to just slip through the door when her mother hurried over and suggested pictures. Sasha groaned and felt like crawling under a rock. Why were parents so bloody embarrassing? "Come on, let's get out of here." She grabbed James' hand and quickly jogged out into the street. They had decided to just walk to school since it wasn't too far. Sasha's parents had taken pictures of Sasha in her dress so Sasha didn't feel too bad about dragging James out of that stupid scene. They could take pictures of Devon with his date when he got one but Sasha just wanted to be left alone.

There was already a lot of pressure from adults as it was.

"Sorry about them." She finally let go of his hand when they started to walk down the empty street. It wasn't like her dress was special or new or anything. Sasha glanced down at her feet. She had on low heel pink shoes. They were comfortable but looked nice enough to be worn to dance, at least she thought so anyway. "You uh look good." Was that something she could say? She supposed so. As they neared the school, she could smell the alcohol and fags from the older students who were loitering in the back of the campus. It didn't really bother her, it was a norm for the city and UK in general. Glancing to James again, she found her nerves settling down a bit. "So how long should we stay? I don't have to be home until ten so...we've got loads of time."

Thanks, I'll get a post up before I got tomorrow morning for sure. Over nine hours worth of travel...kill me know. Have fun not being in a cramped plane. XD
I'll probably skip.

To the dance?

She'll probably go to America, time to nom on cheeseburgers.

I did mention the idea of time travel if we wanted to try putting them into the future (ex: 2050-2075) or into the past (2002-2015) it depends what tone we want I suppose. I would say we could have some big plot taking place online which would require them to work together on and offline together. Some sort of conspiracy or weird going on with the gaming company? Maybe tying in with politics?
