Secrets and lies; Maya hates when other keep things from her, although is more than comfortable in keeping things from them. If she discovers someone has lied to her she'll never trust them again, but if someone tells her a secret they shouldn't share she'll be friends with them forever.
Rats; Maya hates rats and anything that reminds her of them. She often takes the form of a cat in order to hunt rodents down, keeping her home free of the vermin.

Back"story": Sarah is currently on the run from several law enforcement agencies and has learnt to survive off the radar, living off the land and involving herself in society only when she has to. She's currently trying to track down those responsible for the deaths of her family, but taking her time and being cautious in her associations.

Using her underground contacts Sarah has managed to get herself erased from all known databases, living as a ghost outside the system. There's no official record of her existence, her fingerprints have been surgically removed and teeth cosmetically altered to avoid identification.

Past

Past: Sarah never planned for her life to turn out the way it did, for her the quiet life in her small town home was good enough for her. All that changed shortly after her 21st birthday when 'Kyle' walked into her life. At first she thought he was just another drifter, passing through town on his journey to no-where, but soon the waitress found herself drawn to the elusive man and the two became lovers. For the next several months Sarah and Kyle were the perfect couple with a loving, romantic and sexually active relationship which was the talk of the town. When she found out she was pregnant the pair celebrated with the support of the whole town. Unfortunately their happiness wasn't to last.

In truth Kyle was working as a government agent for the SVR, tasked with infiltrating and monitoring the data centre located on the outskirts of town. When his cover was exposed Kyle did all he could to get Sarah and his unborn child to safety, setting her up with 'friends' within his spy network who could keep her out of harms way until the heat blew over and he could rejoin them. However the friends he'd entrusted with his lover's safety turned out to be nothing of the kind and instead sold Sarah to a third-party.

While in their hands Sarah's child was surgically removed from her and she was tortured for days for information which could lead to Kyle's capture, and even though she had no information to provide her captors never relented in her torture. When she finally managed to break out Sarah was horrified to discover the dead body of her child amoung the refuse dumped outside the safe house. Driven with rage she made sure that no-one who had been involved in the operation survived, leaving only twisted and broken bodies behind her.

For the next two years Sarah hunted for Kyle however she could, making contacts within both the intelligence community and underground criminal syndicates. She took jobs where she could, building a reputation for herself in order to further her own agenda and over time she developed a skill for wet-work rivalling the most highly trained operatives. Her quest ended abruptly when she finally managed to find Kyle held in a US military prison in Alaska.

The raid was flawlessly planned with the assistance of former colleagues of Kyle's who were eager to rescue their comrade. When the time came to break into the facility all the piece were in place and the operation went like clockwork, right up until Sarah and Kyle were walking away only for him to be shot in the back by a high-powered sniper rifle. Sarah never knew exactly who had been responsible for the shot, and whether she'd been betrayed by the Russians, set-up by the Americans or whether a third-party had gotten themselves involved. Whoever had taken the shot, Sarah was left cradling her lover's body in her arms as he bled out.

Since that day Sarah has been on a self-proclaimed crusade to take down anyone who was involved with Kyle's death, and those responsible for the death of her child. Taking the dirtiest jobs and bloodiest contracts just as long as payment was provided in the form of information and leads which could help her track down the ones who gave the orders.

Specialization:
Sarah's tactics revolve around shock-and-awe, using the maximum amount of force possible to take down opponents before they can recover enough to strike back. In most of her assignments her targets never even realised they were under attack until it was too late.

Survivalist: Unable to access funds of her own Sarah has developed a skill for 'on-site procurement', taking weapons from her opponents when she needs them and relying on her creative wits and improvised tactics to wrong-foot her enemies at every turn.

She'd still be a good problem solver with a grasp on how things work and the processes of systems, but wouldn't have the godlike power of control she was expecting to have.
