Here's my first draft CS for Trixie. Please let me know if anything needs to be changed.

I'd be interested in playing as a mechanic as well, but what role do they take in combat?

Are they just there to support the Birthed, getting them into position and activating their powers before standing back and enjoying the fireworks, or do they have combat skills and specialty weapons of their own to help out with in a fight?

Depending on your reply, I have three concepts for characters:
  • Sylvia 'Silver' Monroe - A calm and calculating young woman who always keeps her head in battle, armed with a broad-range scnanning device to help diagnose faults in damaged units, along with a light pistol for self defence when needed.
  • Beatrix 'Trixie' Tanner - Battlefield tech expert, trained to locate and acquire interesting machines and devices for later study and repurposing. In her spare time she builds small mechanical robots to help out with minor tasks.
  • Justine Soong - Heavy gear specialist, Justine brings the power to bear when constructing or deconstructing heavy emplacements. Equipped with her servo-gauntlets she can match the strength of most small mecha she faces, but prefers to leave the fighting to the Birthed.
I'm a little interested in this, but will you be using the Tides system for personalities and conversations?
Who do you think would have proposed the pact initially, War Chief Kam'Till or King Childeric?

I was hoping Maximillian Laurens III was the one who proposed it, while trying to forge trade links with the tribals. :D

They might be less common in areas that are less advanced, or where skilled smiths and iron are in shorter supply.

They aren't as common in Laurensia either, since the dense forests make it difficult for a fully armoured person to navigate quickly. Most armoured knights who enter the area tends to wander out again several weeks later, minus their armour and with their arms filled with 'magical' items.

No gunpowder, though.

~a Laurensi trader suddenly appears beside you~

Trader: "Gunpowder? Do you mean huoyao? If you do, I think I know a man who can get some for you."
Good evening prospective citizens, we noticed you've all been on your best behavior, which we most certainly do highly appreciate.

~Susie smiles mischievously to herself, glad no-one noticed what she's been up to lately~
Ok if you could please beef the backstory to meet the standards atleast.

I couldn't find anywhere where you've defined what standards I need to meet for the backstory, and since I'm a little late to the party and don't feel I have a firm enough grasp of the setting coming up with something which wouldn't give away information which would compromise what I had in mind for the character I think I'll bow out of the RP.

I have several others starting up soon, both here and on other sites, so I'll probably not be able to commit the amount of effort others seem to be putting into their stories, and I'd hate to drag the team down.

Plus you already have a fixer who can fill in for GG's absenmce so you shouldn't suffer too much if she decides to move to the Moon instead of remaining local. :)

Dibs on the dark green patch to the far right lol

I was thinking that would be reserved for the barbarians of Aborim, but I'm sure they wouldn't mind some snacks neighbours.

The rest of the map might look something like:
I'm planning for my province to be centrally south along the river if that helps :D

How far south?

I'm just in the process of moving my province down to the Great River to give Vrelan and Kem room to breath and was planning on settling it over to the east, on the shores of the great lake shown on the map I just posted.

Would your province also be on the Great River, or could it be on the banks of the smaller river just north of it on the map?
Something like this might work as a basis:
That was kinda the idea with GG. As an information broker any history she has would be under tight lock and key, and probably entirely fictitious. I wanted to keep the details here vague until I was able to fill in the blanks in character during play.

As an example, I don't want to come out and say exactly how her family died since it might play into the plot at some point, especially if she's holding the details as a marker against someone. I'd be more than happy to confer with you privately to make sure you know what's what, but letting everyone in on the story right from the start may force your hand on where to take the narrative later on.
