I guess my comfort zone is "eccentric side character."

Looks like Roxy, Shemp, Ollie, Aerith, and Eris Vs. Zion, Dante, Jack, Gwen, and Allen.

But since AdamantiumWolf decided to drop then Ollie could stay a cat and the teams would be even.

"Ain't no rule says a cat can't play basketball." Shemp says. "That's been the premise of, like, a dozen kids movies. Buuuuut, I don't like our chances with you like this. Hold on a minute." Shemp starts thinking.

Suddenly he snaps his fingers. "Got it! Try and think of a muscle that only humans have and try to move it. Like uh, like, likelikelikelike the thump! Try and move your thumb all opposable like. Picture the thumb, focus on the thumb, and try and move it around like a non-primate can't."
I heard that show was actually pretty dark.
I could see that working on a metaphysical aspect, actually. A piece of multidimensional driftwood, part of another world that's become unstuck and floats freely through whatever makes up the multiverse, brushes up against the inhabitant of another world and becomes stuck on, not only giving them powers from the world but helping to unstick them from their own place. As they travel more worlds, more driftwood accumulates. A handy explanation for both the accumulation of power and the ability to jump.
I'm slightly confused about abilities, though. Are these things we pick up on the current world we're in, or do we start developing them spontaneously the more we jump? To use a common example, on Dragonball World would I have to put in the time to learn Ki attacks or would they just begin to develop?
Sort of like the End of Time, the most easily stumbled upon point where multidimensional driftwood washes up. The easiest point to hit with an unintentional jump that doesn't put you in a void.
Doesn't a hub world defeat the purpose of random multiversal jumping?

"Look gramps I'm a solo artist if I needed help to kill anyone I'd ask." Dante walked towards Vlad. " If you don't mind you can give me a F for friendship in this team work bull."

"Well that kinda not an option Captain Edge, because otherwise the teams aren't even." Shemp calls over, not even looking up from Oliver. "See Doc, this is what happens when you let a guy run around and kill whoever he pleases with nary a slap on the wrist. He thinks he can walk all over you."

"That said, hey Roxy? Want to be on our team? That would get things sorted out, 5 V 5."

"Yeah I didn't understand any of that." Shemp replies, crouching down near him. "Try making a word. Cats can be trained to simulate human speech. It's sounds weird, but I saw it on Animal Planet. You can take your cat noises and shape them into words."

Allan had woken up a little later than the others. He had to be given a few sedatives to sleep through the entire operation. He woke up eventually, though, and was escorted to a gym by one of the guards. "Thank you, my friend," he said before entering the large room. The sight he was met with, however, was far from normal. He studied the group of humans and animals before deciding to present himself. "Hello my friends, my name is Allan and I am a killer." He was grinning the whole time, he took pride in his accomplishment.

"Join the freakin' club." Shemp said as he walked passed him toward transformed Oliver, calling. "Breath Moneybags, it's not a lion it's just a guy."
