I guess my comfort zone is "eccentric side character."

Just had a thought. Can the banana-man be the first minor villain? He has a good motivation and then everyone can show off their Stands without 1) Fighting each other or 2) immediately having to fight the main villain.

EDIT: Just a shot stop-gap post. Also, Gentleman, I would have interacted a bit more with James but I think Tommy would have tried to get away as soon as he could.

S'all good. Perfectly understandable reaction.

As for Banana dude being the first minor villain, he is sort of the thread of fate that first connected most of the main characters. Jojo is all about fate.

Also his Stand would be 「The Banana Splits」.
Izayoi City - James Maury

Frank tapped the steering wheel of their rental car in annoyance, the full blast of the air conditioner barely holding steady in its war with the heat outside, ever attempting to push its way into the car. He was annoyed at this hot ass city. He was annoyed by the glare of the buildings. He was annoyed at the guy sitting in the back seat who had insisted that this city was, quote, "a unique treasure to be experienced by those all over the world." He was annoyed that he had to hold his tongue around this person. He was full to bursting with complaints, every one of them valid, but he couldn't air them before this man because he'd somehow feel guilty about it later. So Frank sat there and stewed, anger building and building, just waiting for something to uncap it.

Then what looked like a teenage girl ran in front of the car. He slammed his food down on the breaks, sounding the horn as the kid disappeared into the crowed with some yellow bastard hot on her heels!

"WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING YOU STUPID LITTLE SH-" He exploded, yelling through the closed window. He wasn't allowed to finish his thought, however. He felt an arm reach around from the back seat, a finger press silently to his lips, and a voice modify his thought into a gentle "Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh."

He glanced over into the face of James Maury, mere inches from his own, a look of peace plastered across it. "Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh." He repeated, before smiling. "Pull over, please?"

"There's, uhhh, there's nowhere too Mr. Maury." Frank, a little bit embarrassed.

James quirked up at this, looking around as though for the first time. "So there isn't." He said, spying the dearth of public parking. "I suppose things are very different in Japan, aren't they? In America you'd be able to pull into any random lot in front of a store. But here you just walk places. Very nice exorcize."

"Suppose you'll just have to circle around then, if you'd be so kind." James said suddenly before pulling away and bounding out the back door. He would have argued, but already people were lined up and honking behind him. With a exaggerated groan, he pulled away down the street.

-----

James progressed after the pair as something between a jog and a run, hands planted firmly in his pockets as he bounded after them. This sort of confrontational situation, he thought, could be averted easily with the addition of a cool head. Cooler heads, after all. always prevailed. Besides which, he was curious. He had been watching their interactions out the window as he'd daydreamed, fascinated by the exchange of body language until one had kicked the other in the unmentionables and run off. He wanted to know what harsh words had lead to this situation. Where these people friends, or strangers? Was this a planned meeting, or the wild machinations of fate?

He followed their backs around corners at his own pace, just catching glimpses of them until finally reaching the front of the arcade again. Just in time to behold sudden violence. The yellow man went flying back and collapsed in a heap. While everyone was concerned over the young man he decided to check on the groaning ruffian as he came to his senses and listen to the conversation going on over there. So, this man on the ground had been the aggressor.

"I think not yet, young man." He called over to the little group. "If there's conversation to be had, this ruffian is a part of it. At the very least he owes you an apology for his rude behavior." He looks down at the still addled man, shaking his head and clicking his tongue. "Leaving things like this only means there will be hard feeling in the future. Lingering resentment can lead to terrible things."

Is this still open, because:

Name: James Maury

Age: 38

Gender: Male

Appearance: A tall smiling man with bushy brown hair and a short beard, both of which are just starting to show a little dignified grey. He wears a long white coat, crisp white pants, and a tall white hat. Each one of these has been covered in various children drawings in crayon, of multiple colors. These drawings range from crude people, to animals, to cars and such. Under the coat is a read dress shirt with a bow tie. His shes are black and meticulously shined.

Stand name: 「 Rainbow Connection 」

Stand ability: Rainbow Connection, if it touches living things, can connect them with an indestructible rainbow tether. This tether does not bind, and will stretch easily to keep the two connected so long as they are within the stands range. While connected via the tether each will perceive the world as filtered and distorted through the lens of the others imagination. For example: if one of them would think that someone was dangerous the other person might perceive them as some horrible monster. Each persons biases and beliefs would be made "real" in the others perceived reality.

Stand appearance: Rainbow connection is a short, bipedal, frog like stand painted in a garish rainbow pattern. The frogs cheeks are puffed out and round. On each limb it only has three fingers of toes, and a similar ball to its cheeks rests on the end of each one.

Weapon: None.

Personality: A flighty, impulsive man who sees it as his duty to educate and pass on knowledge to the next generation. A man of seemingly infinite good humor who strives to see the good in all others even to his detriment. A curious man, who would endanger himself just for the sake of discovering something interesting. A compassionate man, who would stop to help anyone in need. James belies that any problem could be solved by having a sit down with your opposite and having a deep, in depth discussion about the problem. He is stubborn in this belief, and can come off as preachy about it and other things that ruffle his feathers. What drives him is the wish to Understand. Understand people, understand the world, and understand the cause and meaning behind events. This understanding is the most important thing, in his mind, the should be passed on.

Bio: James is a popular and famous children show host, currently on a world tour for his show. They were supposed to stop in Tokyo but were delayed while passing through Izayoi and James fell in love with the city's culture and vast array of solar panels. He insisted, against executive decision, that they stop and shoot a short segment here.

Sorry, I have been on the road. Still am, actually. I would have explained before if I'd thought this was going to take me even half as long as it is.
Everything seemed to stop for Owlman. They'd done it. They'd really done it. Aya's reluctance to answer said so much more than any explanation ever could. He hung there, arms in the air, like a statue struggling to come to terms. Leveld. his home. His friends. His dreams. He could feel them in his mind, crumbling away under the pressure of the questions echoing in his head. What had happened? Was anyone still alive? Even if they got off the ship did he have anything to go back to?

Then she tugged his hand, and he followed as though he was on autopilot. He saw things, but they didn't register. He heard things, but did they matter? As he trumped into the room after Aya and Light the strange alien plants actually gave his some measure of peace. Nostalgia took over as the Owlman moved past them, looking to the left and right.

This was pretty homey, his owl brain thought blankly.
Danny looked up from the struggling, squealing boar in his arm when heard what the liutenant said, quickly setting the animal down in a pen with a worried expression on him face. "Oh man, this is because I broke into the zoo. I can't go to jail, my dad will kill me if he has to come out here to bail me out." When he heard what the man said about shoddy radios, however, he brightend up immediately. He smiled wide and pulled the man in for a hug. "You are the coolest, man! Thank you so much!" Then he remembered something important and set the man back on his feet before pointing to the top of the penguin house. "There's a lady up there, she was giving me a tour but passed out before the animal lady showed up. Make sure she's okay, okay? Sorry, I've got to go. Thank you again, thank you so much!"

With that Danny bounded over to the wall, leaping up and catching the edge, before pulling himself up one handed like some great ape. From here he surveyed the scene before. Army dudes, superheros, and animals both real and mythical all milled about. Just about the only black spot on this scene was the burned remains of the animal lady. He bowed his head to them, and said quietly "Sorry lady. I don't think you were bad, just... stupid." Then he looked over the heros and called out, "Anybody need a ride? I'm don't got plans." With the offer extended he leapt off the wall, disappearing from view.

"Oh hell no," she said, unable to stop herself. "We are not going towards that thing. That mindless freak leveled the Reformist base like it was nothing!
Wait, what was that?

The Owlman pulled out of the doorway and went over to Aya, fumbling for his phrase book.

It wasn't there.

That was right. He wasn't even wearing a shirt right now. The book was...he didn't know. He'd thrown off his jacket what felt like ages ago. On the roof. He'd intended to go back for it, once everything had been settled. Or at least get a new one made. But he couldn't now. It was gone. It was never coming back.

He couldn't talk.

Instead he hooted. He didn't know what else to do. Slowly, so slowly, he reached out to Aya with his hands and hooted again. What did you say? "Hooo?" What do you mean leveled? "Hooo?" What have they done to my home?! "Hooo?!"
''That's so coooool!'' Danny shouted, eye electric. ''I'm an actual real life frankenstein. That's what I go by when heroing, 'cause before my dad sent me off he said to me 'Danny boy, in this world you can become god or the devil and I wouldn't care. But if I ever wake up to find a reporter on my lawn your ass is cut off.'''

"I'll bet I can catch more animals than you!" He said suddenly, before sprinting off after the nearest elk."
I feel like I have a meter somewhere labelled "improbable gymnastics", and this fight with Blake and Cinder is burning though it fast XD

@Gentlemanvaultboy, @ToadRopes: regarding the plague storyline, I'm thinking that we should assume that other UMMA teams are dealing with the infectees, while the player characters do a quick raid of the rest of the group distributing it. How's that sound?

Sounds good. You're the one that picked up this ball, run with it however you like.
