I guess my comfort zone is "eccentric side character."

"But what about..." She started, staring off after him. Then she shook her head, trying to think straight. Focus in the woman's questions. "Don't freak out, don't freak out." She repeated to herself, seemingly unaware that she was doing it.

"Yeah." She said. "My brother only has one c-coffin." Man, that word was uncomfortable to say. "He's was gonna order another one if I liked the game, so we could play together."

Oh god, she'd been doing this all night. She'd missed dinner. If only she'd logged out, Matthiew would have caught this. He would be able to do something. She bet he'd be just as calm as this lady.

"How are you so calm." She asked shakily. 'Are you, like, a soldier or a secret agent in real life?"
"What!?!"

Despite the explanation Maisy opened up her own menu and detached around until she found the "log out" option. When she clicked it though, all she got was the message.

warning code has been hacked separation of mind and game no longer exists you die in the game you die in real life

She looked at it, then hit the log out a few more times. Then a few more. Then a few more. Then, just to make sure, a couple more.

But it didn't work. There was really no getting out. She looked around at the woods, the whole area suddenly looking more dangerous despite the warm mid-morning sun and the song of birds.

"We've got to go back to town." She said, trying her best not to panic and clearly failing. "Just get back to town and wait for the...the...the game people to fix this. We can just hang out where it's safe and-"

An thought suddenly hit her. A horrifying, terrible, really really stomach churning thought. She looked in the direction the bandit her new friend had set loose had run off in.

'Didn't you..." She said, unease growing in her voice. "Didn't you tell that guy to gather an army?"
@Sharidi37495

"What?" Maisy asked. "What's wrong?"
Anybody got a cool time power for the time police? I am one spell short.
"But...you didn't tell me who you were." Maisy said.
"Oh!" Maisy said, more embaressed than anything. "They're so real." If she'd known they were just like the monsters she...well, she would have still be scared but at she felt like she would have fought them.

Seeing as the woman rejected the talisman she put it on herself, admiring it as it hung from her neck. "Everything's so real."
Maisy copied what the lady did, then breathed in sharply when her inventory popped up. "Wow, I didn't know I had this much in here." She scrolled down her inventory, looking through the vendor trash that she's filled it up with last night. Feathers, bat eyes, cricket legs, monster teeth, then she brightened as she stumbled upon the feather talisman she'd gotten from that chest from earlier.

"Oh, so that's equipment." She said, reading the description. She ported it to her hand, then walked over and handed it to the lady. "Here, this was in a chest. It make you faster, I think."

"Uh-huh." Maisy replied, having almost fallen into the tomb when the door had slid open and the woman had stormed out, taking the two men like a whirlwind. She pulled herself up as the guy from earlier passed them by. 'I didn't know people like that played the gamed." She said, still obviously not cottoning on to the fact that those guys were enemies, not other players.

She patted herself. "I wish I knew how to give you something for helping me."

"B-b-but how do you know that?" She shouted as the door closed behind him.

Oh well. She held up her hands in front of her and stuck out her index finger and her thumb. The hand that didn't form an L was her right. "Right!"

She turned, but before she did a pair of men dropped out of the trees behind her, scowling at her.

This was just great. More people. "Um, are you friends with that guy?"

The one with the axe laughed. 'Nah, lass. N'fact, if you hadn't come along we'dve already slit his throat fer stumblin' on our hideout."

The other cracked his knuckles. 'He's just gonna have to get his from our boys inside. Ain't nobody takin' that relic from us. We worked to hard for it."

"I don't understand anything you're saying." Maisy replied, backing up until she was pressed against the door.

The two enemies didn't reply, the one with the axe charging forward swinging it wildly. The thieves lookouts were too distracted to notice the stealthy Jono slip inside after the druid.
Maisy nodded. "Thank you." She said, turning around and...realizing she had no clue which direction west was. She slowly, like a creaky old door, turned back. "How, uh, how do you learn which way west is?"
