It's way too early to be hearing Christmas music in the mall... can we get past Thanksgiving, first?

The short first year girl tugged nervously at one of her dreadlocks as she walked with her mom to the platform. Her hair was in its usual state, two ponytails, and the band-aid on her cheek stood out with the Hello Kitty faces covering it. Kendall was extremely fidgety, and wasn't so sure what her experience at Hogwarts was going to be like. Her mom, Tina, looked at her curiously as they reached the platform, and looked at her daughter's ticket. "Is this some kind of joke?" Her mom asked, frowning. Their problems were easily and quickly solved, though, when a family of four ran through the brick column.

"There is no way that I am going to do that, so I guess this is where I say goodbye." Her mom said, leaning down to give Kendall a hug. She just let her mom hug her silently, and hurriedly pushed her cart towards the brick. She would have to hurry if she wasn't going to miss the train.

Kendall walked further down the train, peering into all of the compartments to find an empty one. Of course she was one to talk and hold a conversation, and once you got her talking there was no possible way to get her to stop, but she wasn't all too sure about these kids. They all probably knew a lot about magic and the school already, so she didn't want to make a bad first impression. She opened another compartment and stuck her head in, but then stopped when she saw more occupants. She just flashed a smile and shook her head.

"Sorry, I was just looking for an empty one." She said, and then shrugged her shoulders as she continued. That was the same line she used for all of the other compartments that she had just stuck her head into, and she hadn't gotten any nasty looks. That could be a good sign.
Kendall, as usual, was the first one to wake up in her house. Her mother was knocked out on the couch, so she decided to let her have a few extra minutes of sleep before it would be time to drop her off at school. She had already showered, gotten dressed, and put all of her school things her bag. Walking into the kitchen, she cut the light on and opened the fridge in search of breakfast. Of course there was no milk, cereal, or even bacon, so a quick omelet would have to suffice. She pulled the eggs and ham out of the refrigerator and then shut it, placing the items on the counter. She took one look at the clock on the stove, and her eyes widened.
"Mom, we over slept! I thought we had more time!" She screamed, running into the living room again. Her mother sat up with a jolt, her hair messy and her eyes bloodshot red. "Mom, you have to drive me to school!" She reminded her, and her mom was off the couch and up the stairs in record time. She didn't even bother putting on shoes, but her fuzzy pink slippers instead.

"Let's go, kiddo!"

Kendall smiled and gave her mom a quick hug before she got out of the old, maroon colored minivan. She stood in the parking lot and watched as her mom pulled off and sped back towards their home. Sighing and muttering to herself, she started towards the doors ignoring all of the other kids in the lot. Then she heard a loud ripping noise, and her bag fell off her shoulders. Her papers flew out of the bag, and her bag had a great big tear in it.

Quick question what's everyone's time zones?

Eastern time.
I hope so, too.
How many others are needed before this gets going?

Name: Kendall Houghton
Gender: Female
Age: 14
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Occupation &/or School: 9th grader at Ribitan State
Personality:
Kendall is very loud and confident. Some people see her as intimidating and rude, but once you are around her for a while you get used to it. She doesn't really like to reveal a lot about herself, but she loves to hear stories about other people's lives and experiences. She loves to write, and wants to be an author one day. She even wants to get a scholarship to Heshin Academy, but knows that there is a very slim chance of it. She is kind to everyone unless she doesn't like them, then she does her best to ignore or steer clear away from them. She isn't athletic and she hates the outdoors, including any kind of pet other than a dog. She likes to joke around, sure, but she absolutely hates surprises or pranks of any kind especially when they are against her.

History:
She grew up with her single mother in a town home. Her mother works full time on weekdays and half time on the weekends. Kendall has never really spent quality time with her mother due to her heavy work schedule, but she still appreciates everything she does to make sure that she gets through life smoothly. Her father died when she was two years old, and she barely remembers him. She has a single picture of him that she carries around with her everywhere she goes, and wouldn't know what to do with herself if she lost it. Since her mother is always away, she has learned to take care of herself. She gets all of her school work done, and when she is home she has dinner ready for when her mom gets home. She balances a lot in her life that a 14 year old shouldn't have to, but she enjoys having the responsibility.

Other:
She is allergic to cats.
Alright, I changed it up.
•Name: Kendall Heartland

•House: Ravenclaw
•Magical Heritage: Muggle Born
•Appearance:
•Backstory:
Kendall grew up with her single mother in LA, California. She has attended a normal, muggle school since she was five years old, and moved to England when she was 9, so she has a lot to adjust to when she goes to Hogwarts. Her father died before she was born, so she has never met him, but she has a picture of him that she carries around with her everywhere she goes. When she got the Hogwarts letter, of course her mom flipped out, but Kendall wasn't as surprised. Lately, weird things have been going on with her, and overall she felt different. There isn't much to really tell about her family, mostly because her mother isn't poor or rich, she doesn't have any other siblings, and she has never had a pet. Kendall's life is fairly structured.

•Personality:
Always loud and outgoing, Kendall doesn't have any trouble with making friends. She loves dancing and playing around, but when the time comes to sit still and do any sort of work it is always a struggle. She has a hard time paying attention, but once she is focused she can be a really great student. Most people see her as obnoxious and selfish, but she doesn't see anything wrong with that. She has a lot of confidence that most kids her age don't really have. She is one hundred percent sure that she will make the whole "wizard" thing work, even if it may not turn out the way she plans.

•Personal Items:
Wand, Chestnut 9¼" with a Dragon heartstring core
Her new screech owl, Chloe
A crinkled picture of her dad.
