Out Of The Frying Pan

The world bent into itself as time and space was momentarily disrupted. In a flash of ethereal light a humanoid masked figure remained, a dark cloak draped about its body, standing atop a large stone. Tablurath took in his new alien surroundings with a slow 360 degree turn. Taking in every detail of this new and bizarre battlefield. He noticed immediately that this place was indeed different, as a shifting wave of power seemed to resonate in this place. The hairs on the back of his neck stood on end-- proof enough of some strange magic at work here. His cape opened up as he raised his arms before him. Looking over his arms carefully as if studying them for some change.

Tablurath at this point had only a little fear of the transportation through time and space would affect him negatively. Only a madman would feel absolutely assured of coming out unscathed when another eldritch being was throwing you through different dimensions. He was not really looking for any evidence of such changes, but instead taking note of the strange threads of violet energy that had attached themselves to his form. He cast his gaze about the strange tunnel once more, feeling remarkably calm.

He neither looked forward to his match nor dreaded it. He could not quite put a finger on the feeling, but he at least hoped his new opponent would be more interesting than the last. He gripped a sword, Mercy, and pulled it free from its sheath. The cold metal hardly making more than a whisper as it was brought into the light. There was no much else to do, but wait for his opponent. He closed his eyes for a moment as he thought of the reasons that had brought him at least this far. So much rode on this, more than Tablurath himself was aware of perhaps. He decided to promise himself one thing after this little game; he would seek out Mirra when all was said and done.

He could hardly expect the Angar-Rylla to keep their word after all.
So I have created a few more races, most of which will be tribal factions that make up the majority of the NPC orcs/goblins/marauders of the setting.

@GreivousKhan

Right but my point was why are you explaining the currency in terms of an exchange rate with an outside currency?

Archaic currency is best described in terms of itself! Least I think so. How does the below work for you?

Farthing: Lowest denomination

Halfshield: five farthings

Shield: two halves/ten farthings

Groat: five shields/ten halves/fifty farthings

Tower: two groats/ten shields/twenty halves/one hundred farthings

Blood: five towers/ten groats/fifty shields/ one hundred halves/five hundred farthings

Lily: two bloods/ten towers/twenty groats/one hundred shields/two hundred halves/thousand farthings

Eye: five lillies/ten bloods/fifty towers/one hundred groats/five hundred shields/one thousand halves/five thousand farthings

Dragon: ten thousand farthings

@sigma

That sounds good with me. :K

Ok, expect a post here tomorrow. Busy last few days with me having to move and all.
Hall of Dreamers

In the well lit room of his personal chambers given by the Dreamers. Khanza sighed as he allowed himself to relax after a fairly quick and surprisingly easy match. A 3D holo screen projected before him by a portable computer device Aquilan had carried with him. Upon it the collected information of the other contests who had managed to win their own matches. He cracked the knuckles of one hand as he leaned back in his long chair. It seemed Faoesia and Aquilan had managed to obtain quite a bit of information on his possible future opponents.

“As far as I can see you next opponent is that Angel fellow.” Aquilan pointed out as he enjoyed a cup of tea.

Tablurath sighed as he nodded. “So it would seem, hopefully they will be more interesting than my last opponent.” He waved a hand before him to the dossier of the warrior in question. It seemed his next opponent had been decided.

I approve the idea but don't understand the reference system. Monetary systems should be self referential and refer to other denominations (copper,gold, silver) after. Or are you saying for example 2 gold coins are called a Lilly, not that a Lilly is a coin equivalent elsewhere to two gold coins?

MAP UPDATE

A Lily coin is worth two gold coins, that's the basic idea. Anyway, as long as we have basic names for the coins we should be good.

And...interesting map update thaT...
@Aristo@Darkmatter
So for the western currency, I'm thinking Dragon Head Coins, which are minted maybe in Vrent mostly as it has the mines. It might run down to looking something like this.

  • Farthing 1 copper coins worth
  • Halfshield 5 copper coins worth
  • Shield 1 silver coins worth
  • Groat 25 copper coins worth
  • Tower 5 silver coins worth
  • Blood 1 gold coins worth
  • Lily 2 gold coins worth
  • Eye 100 gold coins worth

Just the rough idea so far, feel free to add or change or give feedback.
@Darkmatter @Aristo

So I have been thinking due to our proximity, maybe the west portion could use the same currency for consistencies sake? We have have been neighbors for a long time after all and would benefit our economies. Also maybe we could work out the exact religious and Racial demographics between our cities.

So anyone else want to work out possible conflicts, relations, treaties or some such?

To be honest I keep forgetting which player owns the death forest, so to the OOC it goes.
