Let me guess, everyone imagined a sci-fi theme?

Advanced tech, something like Star Trek era?
That 1st RP I played in on the Guild example I gave earlier, one of the players that dropped out on account of it being too active was the GM.

I don't really agree with that premise, myself. It's lame and annoying, but everyone has biases and issues. It's something that they try to be supportive in some way. It's sort of popular to hate on effeminate gays while overall being cool with same-sex attraction, so a lot of people just kind of go along with that. It might be more accurate to say they just don't like obnoxious/in your face people, which gays can also be. But yeah, don't think it makes him a 'no true supporter' type deal. Just one with blind spots.

Fair enough in that at least their somewhat supportive.

It could be a culture difference though but I personally find the effeminate gays tend to be more liked/popular among people than others. They may also get bullied more often than gay people who aren't that way though, but that's largely due to the fact that their sexuality becomes more obvious by how they are effeminate. But when you get a known masculine gay man compared to an effeminate gay man both will be picked on equally, but the effeminate typically having a bigger crowd of friends and popularity among the rest of the student body.

Though it is worth nothing that this is strictly experience from High School, in my two years of college I have never once seen a case of Homophobia take place. I know it happens, but I've never been witness to one so I can't report to the general culture/behaviour there. Also, my High School constantly got sexualities wrong anyways. They thought I was Gay (I'm straight) simply because I wasn't constantly staring at or hitting on girls in the school.
Is there an OOC yet or would you rather I post the CS in the Interest Check?
Can't for this RP to start.

Apologies if I my posts start off a bit slow though.
I'm getting back into RP's after having a two year break.

There's a difference between what's right and what's real.Just because supporting one piece of LGBT but not another probably isn't the right thing to do, doesn't mean tons of people don't actually think that way and not consider it a big deal.Griever's kind of right about this. It's a thing that's true, whether or not it's ideal.

I wasn't arguing such people don't exist. I was arguing they aren't an actual supporter or ally if their support is circumstantial like that.
I have to admit the same, the detailed setting is looking to be close to modern times for any concepts I have to really work or stick well. :/

Personality/Biography: Mark by most of his family and friends is known as a fun, crazy and outgoing individual, and also one who cares a lot for his younger siblings. But a lot of that changed when he was 19 and his parents died from a Covenant attack while on vacation. Mark and his siblings survived by mere luck, with Mark having been able to grab his siblings and hide under some debris until the covenant were all gone. This situation not only shook him, making me a far more quite and reserved individual (the only side of him seen by his ODST and Marine friends) but was also what motivated him to join the UNSC, hoping he could help prevent what had happened to his own family.

Before joining the UNSC he was in college learning how to become a computer programmer, so he had some basic understanding on computer code when he joined. His life was very typical and relaxed where he mainly spent his childhood hanging out with friends, getting part time work where he could for some extra spending money and looking after his brother and sister on the days his parents were held up late at work. At UNSC all that his squadmate's know about him his the fact he has two little siblings waiting at home for him, and that he fancies a lot of time in his quarters on his computer, seemingly cut-off from the happenings of other's around him. Though he does score top grades in marksmanship and above average in military tactics.

Timeline of historical events:
2529: Born
2540: Sister was born
2542: Brother was born
2547: Graduated High School, Got into College for Computer Programming
2548: Parents died, joined the UNSC
2550: Promoted to Corporal and Assigned to the ODSTs

Field Equipment
Primary weapon: MA5C Individual Combat Weapon System
Secondary weapon: M395 Designated Marksman Rifle
Specialized Equipment: Removable Silencer's and scopes for his primary and secondary weapons.
Additional Items: Flash bangs, Sonic and Frag grenades.

Additional Notes
During the invasion that killed his parents an explosion went off that damaged the left side of his rib cage, causing scaring and sensitivity in that area. Also making it so if he's forced to run for a long period of time (10-15 minutes straight) he will start to experience mass amounts of pain and have to stop moving for a while.
A lot of RP's don't even have a GM. It's just a group of people making a plot go forward together.
Being perfectly honest though, I think almost any 1x1 RP to stay active and successful needs more than 2 characters simply to keep some kind of plot and multiple character interactions. Only real acceptations being romance (but even there, character variety is good) or simply where it fit's the setting such as say a wasteland where most of the human race is dead and you each play a survivor who are working together to survive.
