*Disclaimer* Forgive me if I make some oversights or mistakes with Muscular Dystrophy. It's not something I'm too familiar with, so if someone catches a hiccup or a flaw in my character design related to that please do speak up and highlight it.



Name: Ivan Blair

Age: 17

Grade: 3rd Year

Disability: Muscular Dystrophy - Particularly in the legs, uses a wheelchair to get by.

Personality: Ivan is typically a very reserved individual. Having had only transferred in this year he has figured his time here is limited, and being a last year student no one he could run into would still be looking for friends, so he keeps largely to himself. He get's good grades, and if engaged in conversation tends to be a kind and honest person, but distant. He spends his free time mainly in his room watching tv, reading a book or playing a game. But occasionally he get's fresh air by wandering about campus fields, if for nothing more than to make his muscles not completely sore and weak.

Not wanting his disability to beat him you'll occasionally catch him trying to walk with his crutch when outside on his own, but this often results in him falling and having to slowly crawl back to his wheelchair cause he was too stubborn to bring a friend to help, there being several cuts and bruises on his face, arms and legs as a result. His arms are more easily exercised with small weights since he can work them without risk of falling and hurting himself. But even then he keeps a stick on him to nudge and shift things that his arms simply can't reach or stretch out too.

He's tried getting a license for some kind of specialized motor bike, but even with proper adaptions for his feet his arms currently are not fit enough to take on the extra demand. Horses he has an easier time with and does ride occasionally, but since he's not allowed to use such a thing on campus or on most roads he's usually stuck reliant on his wheelchair and public transit.

Background: Ivan was born with Muscular Dystrophy, he however was originally able to walk but didn't learn until the age of 3 because of the extra effort it took. Even then though his body eventually gave up at the age of 10 and he's been confined to his wheelchair ever since. He spent most of his growing up in Ottawa, Canada and got by fine at a typical school. However, during his second year he annoyed the wrong crowd, getting into a 'fight' that broke both his legs and his right arm. His parent's worried as a result decided he had to be pulled out and sent to a school that better understood and accepted him, homeschooling him in the meantime so he wouldn't fail. Yamaku Academy was the only place they could find that they felt safe leaving their child at, and despite Ivan's constant refusal he was forced to leave home and go there. Having only arrived 2 weeks ago he has familiarized himself with the school area, but nothing outside it. Nor does he yet know of anywhere to keep up hobbies like horse back riding or gaming nights.

Other Info: Ivan always sit's in his wheelchair a bit low, as if he's about to slip off at any moment but oddly he never does. He simply does this so at a moments notice he can get off his wheelchair and attempt to walk for himself during the brief moments outside when no one else is around to stop him.

I might be able to pull off the Medium Casual requirement, but note I am just starting to forum RP again after a 2 year hiatus and even back then I typically role played at a Low Casual level.
If this makes you not want me in an RP that's fine, I wait for you to make that call before I make a CS.

Let's mash up Supernatural Academy with Crime Solving?

Interested depending on the kind of supernatural academy we're going with.

Is this going to be like an X-Men sort of academy? Or will people allowed to be more exaggerated/crazy like Teen Titans, Avenger's or Superman?
Reason I'm asking is because although a theme like this could work pretty well, it runs the risk of becoming too powerful so that the RP simply can't work because the plots are all too easy to solve without divine intervention restricting the characters.

Interested, but there's three question's I really need to be asked/clarified though (the fourth one below the quote is more out of curiosity than anything).

1. Are you putting a focus on female characters? I ask this because the title "Disability girls". I get most characters in the novel were girls, but that was because it being a romance novel and the main being a guy it was simply natural to make most of the other characters female in order to appeal to the largest audience. In this RP though I don't imagine it's going to be the same case of one male's quest to find a girlfriend though.

2. Is this RP pushing romance as a big/mandatory thing? That was basically the novel's entire focus so I'm wondering if the RP is going to push us in that direction or if it's more just the setting we're capturing and we're free to simply play through without one (or little focus on one) if we wish.

3. What level Casual? As in Low, Medium, or High Casual.

Really? I played a bit of Katawa Shoujo (Ultimately didn't like it in the end, but that was because I found the writing and characters logic of it revolved around typical 15 year old girl thinking however. [ex: Play defensive at risk = Lose a girl, No GF in the first week of school = Screw you, go fall off a building and die]. The general concept however I actually enjoyed quite a lot). Are we just talking serious mental disabilities though or anything? Like someone with high functioning aspergers, or dyslexia, ADHD, depression etc. would all be turned down even if it was say minor?

I just find it odd that a school that is specifically focused to help people with disabilities of one kind would completely leave out those of another kind.
