What if I told you that upon finding out my God didn't exist, absolutely nothing would change in my day to day life?

Then I'd tell you that you already saw my response but chose not to quote it which was:

Magic Magnum said If not then you just proved that you don't need Religion to be a moral human being.
It appears so. :(
Mark lied on his bed, with his leg's kicked up he supported his data-pad. Looking through old messages from back home, mainly from his brother and sister who were currently living with their Aunt. He missed being back home, he wished this war could of never started. Everyone would still be alive, he'd still be waking up in the morning excited for what was next, not terrified of dying or losing friends in the next mission. He knew the next mission wasn't going to be nice either, he hadn't really paid much attention to the briefings but he did know Ghost had gained a number of new recruits, those who had barely seen combat and would more than likely be dead within the first few hours of the mission. You could tell they were new to the fighting, especially with one who was constantly trying to crack jokes with the others. They'd be more serious if they had truly been exposed to what the war shown them.

This was a war where many Spartans had already been lost, what chance do fresh recruits have? Or even Professional ODSTs for that matter? He though back to the old saying of "A Spartan never dies, they just go missing in action". If he only ODSTs worked that way, then at least he could rest a bit more easy knowing most of his friends were going simply being sent to their deaths sooner or later. As his was lying there he felt his stomach growl a bit, with a grin he decided it was probably time to eat something and went to see what food would be left lying around at the cafe. Ultimately he just ended up getting a standard ham and cheese sand which and took it back to his room to eat, he didn't much care to see anyone else at the moment. It seemed odd though that Mark was the one who was so worried about the price of war, and the recruits dying considering he is the youngest member of Ghost. Perhaps he was just shaken by having been present in a invasion back when he was a civilian. But surely, most ODSTs should relate? Many would of joined for similar reasons, or maybe they did relate. Mark wouldn't of known, he has barely gotten to know his squad members in his time being here.
And once again Brovo argued everything I could argue and more before I even had a chance to reply! :P

Imperfectionist said OT is not the place for me.

If Brovo's length and/or method of delivery knocks you out than I imagine.
I've made and replied to far longer posts here (some from Brovo), and many individuals here can be far more ruthless than Brovo.

In other words: Don't get into an OT debate unless if you're ready to argue against walls of text and have thick enough skin to not be hurt by any Joke or criticism to you or your logic.

No problem guys. This is where the casual elements I talk about comes in. Taking a page (or hundreds) from Ernest Hemmingway, indeed, quality matters tye most. I have no quarrels with having a minimum of like two paragraphs as long as it's beefed up with all the goodness that exists in writing, like character interaction, development, a good show of the setting, the emotions. Or some powerful scene that only the lack of words can imply. What I can do is that I can make damn sure that there are no unreasonable rules and attitude that would impede such writing and some of the advantages offered by the casual experience.Edit: Also, our discussion of this has lead me to a crazy idea- the RP could become one of the first, if the first Casual-Advance RP.I could post an interest check in both the casual and advance section. Casual RPers and Advance RPers could then roleplay together in IC. They will abide by the same rules, but expectations will differ.Since neither types of RPers are better than the other obviously, I'll tailor the expectations for each category accordingly.I need input for this idea though, because this is the first time I've ever thought about it.

That could work, I'd clarify to Advanced specifically though that is not a write an essay for a post kind of RP. That it's an RP where two quality paragraphs work.
Although I have been running into more cases lately of Advanced that isn't much different from Casual, those essay Advanced players (who often act better than those who don't write essays) so exist, and posting an Advanced Interest Check risks putting those kinds of people in the RP.

-game of thrones question-

I've only seen the show so I can't give any advice as to if you should read the books first or not.
It would probably depend on how much of a TV or book person you are.

I know that episode... (said the Hartnell fangirl). Did you start watching it knowing the episodes were organized into arcs that it makes more sense to watch all at once (like the Tom Baker episodes, and all the other Classic episodes for that matter)? In early Hartnell's era the episodes all had individual titles instead of "part 1", "part 2", etc but they still had the arc formula. You wouldn't be the first person to turn an episode down if you got halfway through one without realizing it was part of a 4-part arc. Admittedly a lot of the Classic episodes (especially in Harntell's era) start slow, but they get better. They make more sense to watch all in one sitting. Give me a day and I can probably list some of my favorite Classic episodes, though...

I was aware it worked like that, though in that case it was a friend who put it on. So it's possible they loaded a later part without me knowing.
But it wasn't a 'skip ahead' confusion bit that bothered me, it was that outside of the doctor everyone just seemed either so monotone or just "Oh Golly! Look at the ancient stuff!".

LOLI remember watching an ironman impossible post commentary on youtube, and the youtuber says "Things seem to be going smoothly!" nothing happens. He says it again, rather forcefully. "I said, things seem to be going smoothly, X-com..." A few sectoids pop up. "Thought so."(A bit of paraphrasing)

That's XCOM. :P
So since I posted this I have fully caught up with Game of Thrones, and they really need to release season 5... I mean I went through almost the entirety of the show within 2-3 days and was left at the end of season 4 going "I need more!".

Also, Cards Against Humanity = The best game ever

@Kaga: I hadn't been having a Doctor Who binge when I made that, I was just in a very Doctor mood at the time. :P
I might need to get back into Classic Who, I say a part of one episode it was mainly just some Aztec education thing with a mini-horde of companions that couldn't really act well. I should probably start with a different episode instead.

Also congrats on graduating High School! :D
So it seems Laguz did basically exist in other games, except in those it was more item based while with Laguz it's part of their very race.

Anyways, currently we have one person wanting to be GM and several others wanting to be Co-GMs.
I'd say give people another day to post interest in being GM, if others do then we vote. If not then I'm assuming the title of GM goes to TentacleLord.

And when he does it we can let him choose if he want's a Co-GM or not, if the Co-GM should also be voted for or chosen by the GM however (may the GM even want one) though, should probably still be addressed. Me personally, I'm fine either way in that regard.
MercuryHg34 said The Laguz from what I understand are pretty much like the Taguel/Manekete classes but with different animals if I'm not mistaken, right?

Not sure about those classes.
But mainly they're shape shifters, but only shift into one specific animal.

When in human form they're generally unable to fight, even having mass difficulty in wielding human weapons (mechanic wise, but RP wise we could argue some Laguz were raised among Beorc and therefore can wield weapons and fight with them also). They're only able to stay in animal form for a limited amount of time, but when they are transformed they are a terror on the battlefield and outright posses the strength of several beorc.

You can keep the shapeshift up pernamently though by one of two methods.

1. Laguz Band, holding/being in possession of such an item lets you remain shape shifted for as long as you wish. But your animal form is as a result not as strong as it otherwise would be.

2. Be of a Noble blood. For some reason Noble Laguz basically have a Laguz Band on them at all times through their genes. And unlike those who use the band, Nobles do not suffer by being in a weaker version of the transformation.
