I know that was meant to be cute, but all I could think was "If at first you fail, give up and do something else".

@Second one: Ok, that one was pretty funny. :P
data549 said Ah, Phil Fish. That is a name I haven't heard in a long time. From what I've read, his role in this mess just seems to be one big "LOOK AT ME, I'M IMPORTANT".

That's all Phil Fish does period. :P

HeySeuss said Her basement dweller boyfriend needs to let go...or get a real doll, name it Zoe and work out the angst there. Something like that. What a putz. And oh Internet, you're putzes too for going along with one kiddult's thwarted relationship rage.edit: And before anyone accuses me thus, no I don't want to sleep with the woman. Never even knew who the hell she was until I did about a half hour's worth of background reading on the whole dust-up. Not my type. But yeah, it's rather fucked up to assume that someone defending her must want to stick it in.

No one's getting up in arms with her because she cheated. People are up in arms because she used the sexual relationships to get false ratings for her game. In other words, hurting the Game Industry's integrity.
Then it got worse when Zoe Quinn and her supporters turned around and claim any and all criticisms were sexist... and then started falsely reporting copyright on disagreeing videos. And then lastly, they actually brought down a Charity because it was supported by people who called her out on her actions.

Her ex-boyfriend never started this issue, he simply provided information/insight into the matter after she was always caught and being called out on her actions.

Hellis said -A fair amount of ranting on feminism-

I assumed by now when I went ahead and said feminism people would realize I was referring to Third Wave feminism.

But apparently this still needs to be clarified. So no, I'm not attacking your female friends who play games. I am not attacking the women who started the feminist movements.

I am complaining about people such as Anita Sarkeesian & Rebecca Watson.
And Anita actually has been jumping in siding with Zoe on this whole thing, so yes there has been feminism involvement here for the worst. That cannot be denied.
Plus, the whole matters of "Let's not talk about Zoe being a rapist by her own terms! She's a girl!?", do you think that's coming from 4Chan, MRA, Gender Egalitarians?
That's coming from the feminists.

Also, I have not been complaining about feminism in all my posts. The vast majority of my posts have had nothing to do with the topic. Granted I debate on this site a lot, so a good amount of views get expressed often, but that doesn't mean it's filling up the majority of my activity.

If you honestly do think the majority of my activity has been arguing against feminism I honestly can only suggest 1 of 2 things is happening.

1) You are mainly just going into threads/topics where the direct topic or a closely related topic is feminism. And if you constantly limiting yourself to feminist topics, no shit the majority of my posts that you're going to see is going to be talking about feminism.

2) Selective Reading, out of everything I say my views on Feminism is something you dislike (It might be the only thing you dislike, it may just be the thing you dislike the most). But regardless, it has become easier for you to remember times and cases I've spoken on feminism as opposed to other things, because the times I'm spoken on Feminism it has angered/annoyed you more.

Brovo said You, me, and Hellis agreeing on something. Now all we need is some arbitrary fourth horseman and this apocalypse is all set to go.

I'd call myself the fourth, but when it's not on the topic of Religion I'm usually if not always agreeing with you and MDK. :/
Dipper said NO. DO NOT CALM DOWN! THIS WITCH AND HER MONGOLOID HORDES OF SJWS HAVE DONE THE UNFORGIVABLE! I'm not joking when I say that Zoe and Phil, and all the other SJW fuckers need to be completly and utterly destroyed. Spread the word to everywhere you can, man. LET IT BE KNOWN THAT SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIORS AMD THEIR ILK HAVE SABOTAGED A CHARITY DESIGNED TO GET WOMEN INTO GAMING AND HELP CURE CHRONIC BUTTHURT DISEASE (Colon Cancer) BECAUSE THEY FELT LIKE IT.

I am discussing it in other places too...

It crosses a serious line with me when people start shutting down charities.

Dynamo Frokane said Personally, I couldn't give a crap about a barely relevant game developer sleeping with other barely relevant game writers and reviewers. BUT

1.This has nothing to do with feminism, she is just another example of most pseudo intellectual young people of this generation, a self righteous, dishonest hypocrite, there are many who are guilty of it.

2. I do feel a large percentage of her defenders either want to sleep with her or secretly practice the same behaviour, the insecurities are glaring.

1. Feminism has been quick to move to Zoe Quinns defense, it's been adopted by them as a feminist issue.

2. Basically White Knights? :P

But the main issue here is not her sexual habits, I couldn't care less how many guys she sleeps with as long as no one is getting hurt. What matters is that she used the sex so Journalist would be dishonest and give her game high ratings, hurting game journalism as a whole.
Oh god damn it! >.<

They are shutting down a charity for 'harrassing' Zoe when it was FUCKING PHIL FISH WHO DID THE HACK!!!

*Deep Breath*

I should calm down... Angry Feminist trying to demonize video games is one thing, Journalist not being honest is also one thing. But shutting down honest and hard working charities due to personal grudges?

YOU! DO! NOT! DO! THAT!
I don't know about common core specifically.

However generally I find the issue tends to be two main things.

1) They're always pushing for a one size fit's all approach. Thinking one style will work for everyone... and inevitably having a ton of people fall through the cracks as a result.

2) They focus on preparing you for something that will be 20 years old.
Essentially, they assume the world that children to grow up to be in will be the same world that they live in now. We can hardly predict what the world will be like just a few years from now let alone 20. School is going to be failing constantly if we're preparing for something that will practically non-existent when they graduate.

We'd be far better off just helping children improve in where they're strong, utilize their gifts (and some other basic life skills. Such as basic English, enough math to follow taxes and such, enough history to learn from our mistakes, enough science to not think the sun revolves around the earth or the earth is 6000 years old etc). That way everyone is trained in what they're good at which gives them a bigger chance for success than being streamlined into an outdated system they most likely don't care for regardless.
Before I start I just feel the need to highlight, you have me and So Boerd on the same side arguing the same point here.
When you have that happening that should honestly say something.

Rare said I did read that and I'm just sharing my thoughts on this topic. Yeah, he would still feel away if his father's death was preventable, but that's life.

Life sometimes may not be fair, but that doesn't mean an innocent person should die out of fear for their aggressor's safety.
Life isn't perfect, but that's even more reason for us to rationalize these things and try to get the best realistic result possible, rather than making good people die and making life a bit worse as a result.

Rare said Okay, he wouldn't die due to the stab wound, unless it damaged the organs and they didn't make it to the ER room in time.

Or bleeding out, no matter where you're stabbed if enough blood escapes you're as good as dead. On top of that, if the boy was charging him with a knife it is safe to assume the boy intended to aim for vitals.

Rare said Okay, where did you get that I said, "Let the officer just lay on the ground and die.". No, I didn't say that, I said that he should fight him or use his taser on him.

Brovo already brought up the Tasers, and when shown why that wasn't practical to expect he was able to look at the evidence, accept it and retract his previous suggestion/criticism.

As for fighting without a Gun or Taser? The boy has a knife, the officer has his fist or a night stick. Doing so put the officer in far greater danger than need be, and what if say he failed and the boy did kill him? Would other officers be expected to shoot or would they also have to risk their lives is close combat?

Rare said Go to other countries, that don't allowed guns in the police force, and tell them that.

No country completely prevents police from using guns. Some countries simply require it to be a higher level of law enforcement first.

For example in America practically everyone has a gun, in Canada it's common but wouldn't be present for all cases. In the UK they'd probably have to specifically call in for armed support. But an armed boy robbing a store and attacking people? Even in places like that UK that's pretty good grounds to bring in law enforcement that's armed.

Rare said Well, I would just shot him in the arm or the leg. Making him drop the knife and the old lady lives another day to shop.

This was also already addressed, and explained how aiming so precisely (with a moving target no less) is not only risky and difficult, but chances a misfire where someone else can get hurt.

mdk said No amount of logic is going to affect a change here. Just be done. Internet argument cool-rules aside, at some point, you have to be able to look at another person and reasonably conclude that they've got their head up their ass.

True, but a decent attempt should at least be provided before deciding to give up on such a thing.
I think it's that Journalists are constantly seen as just opinion pieces, so trying to remain neutral/honest isn't as big as a demand as it is for mainstream media. Especially when for something like Video Games which the majority of people (wrongfully) see as just something for kids.

And yea, Phil Fish definitely staged the hack, all the sloppy work points directly at it. I get it Phil, you have Depression. That doesn't give you an excuse to frame people, defend corruption, get money or discourage people from following their dreams.

As for this charity sabotage? Can someone link me to something of this? I didn't hear about this at all until now... But given what Zoe's already done I don't have trouble believing it in the slightest.
Video game Journalism and Feminist Double Standards are starting to really hurt the game Industry. >.<
To be fair, you can't truly know you're able to kill a person until you're in the situation yourself. Some people could very well just freeze up and not be able to.
