Emerald had just touched down on the warp pad, as Aquamarine had called it, when the shaking knocked him onto the floor. He quickly looked up, and then..everything seemed to slow down. There was...some kind of monster! He couldn't see what was happening, but then he heard Aquamarine yell out "HOWLITE!" Emerald froze for a second, spacing out with his mouth agape. It...it sounded like Howlite had been...whatever it was called. He then stopped. Hey, it's alright! Amber came back, and I came back, so everything's gonna be fine!" He had started to run over towards them when...Bloodstone walked towards them? No, he was holding something. There was Aqua's Gem, which meant...that monster must've hit her or something. Well, at least she would be back in a few....hours, hopefully? Maybe? He looked at what else there was...a bunch of pieces of...Howlite's Gem? Wait...WHAT? "Wha-I mean, whahappentoHowl-" Then he remembered. Aqua had said something about....what happened to Gems when they were healing? He then froze. She had said something like Thank goodness it wasn't cracked, otherwise that would be really bad. But cracked is one thing....shattered? Emerald's flashlight-eyes came on, making sure it wasn't just some piece of rock....no. That meant...Howlite is gone? Everything else blurred out, and Emerald passed out, falling onto the somehow dustier Kindergarten floor.

So, what will the cause of Howlite's death be?
Emerald ran after the others, wiping sleep from his eyes. "Wait up guys! Don't leave without me!" He ran up to the warp pad and stepped on. He had wanted to return to this place, he found the various machines interesting. He found it amazing how you could fit a ton of tiny bits together to make things from a van, to a robot, to just an everyday tool. "I hope the spider robot wrecks are still there, I'd like to scavenge what's left and see how they work. Maybe I could mess around with the components and make something else entirely!" He wondered if anything had changed, or if---wait a second... "Um, Aquamarine, what if there are other Gems there? New ones like us?"
Wait, so we just timeskipped? Well, Emerald's returning to the Kindergarten.
I would say Emerald would be an engineer.
Altiverse Emerald is basically Emerald, but he tends to fall over and hurt himself less.

Wow. Looking at the similarities between Mars and Emerald:
Both regain energy in some sort of abnormal way (Emerald through sleeping constantly, Mars through absorbing light or heat)
Both have weapons that can be split in half for a different approach to fighting
Both have abilities that increase what they can do in exchange for exhausting them, both unmastered
