Stygian blue is unusual because it is an impossibly highly saturated shade of blue-black. Being as dark as it is, it shouldn't be so vivid... but it is. Hence, impossible. Actual light can't create a colour like that, only your brain can.

Right now, Mahz is too busy to work on improving the Guild, but it might be something he'll work on in the future.

Go to the picture in that article and look at one of the left squares for a full minute, then look at the corresponding middle square. You'll see some shades that cannot be observed under normal viewing conditions (like a shade of red that is brighter than white) but which you can trick your brain into seeing.
