Some of the items would have several stats already jotted into them as base stats. They would not start at 1.

E.g.

Plasma Cutter
DMG: 4 / 8
REL: 5 / 10
RoF: 3 / 7
CAP: 6 / 10

Sorry, I meant no incredible upgrades to start with, due to them being standard issue and just given out. I don't find it realistic for a Plasma Cutter being allowed when it can go toe to toe with security personnel using a pulse rifle.
Taylor was extremely stressed out,and maybe it was her fault. The security job wasn't hard to get into. Of course she would need a little more training for the things her father couldn't get into, but it was her ex-friends, her co-workers, that she was supposed to impress. They said 'oh it's old Taylors girl, a chip off the old block!' and when she fell short it was obvious they were displeased. It might have been the sole reason she opted in to transfer to shopping patrol. Babysitting the kids, the others called it. But at least it wasn't some desk job or door guard. She was off her a-game today, probably getting sick from the stress, still trying to hold it together.

It was then her attention was taken away from her stress, somewhat waking her up from her daze. The lights flickered and there was like... some loud scurrying sound...but it was coming from all around. The ceiling, floor and walls. Just then, the main lighting cut out in the hallway, still lit from the shopping places and outside, and the moment where Taylor didn't feel safe anymore. There was a scream and Taylor jerked up, looking in the way of the scream. Before she could aim her weapon or realize what the other shoppers were doing, it all changed in that second. They were everywhere. Behind her, in front of her, above her. They were killing everyone, and before Taylor could open fire one had attempted to drop down on her. She rolled back with the best of her reflexes, hitting the wall where the window is. Not worrying about if she hurt herself, her adrenaline forced her into overdrive and activated her fight motive. She opened fire, continuously pulling the trigger to release shot after shot of her rifle. Everyone was dying, or ripped a part, all that was standing were those... things! And she had to kill them before they all came after her!

"HEY this is Sergeant Taylor someone respond NOW I need back up to my location, Shopping District!!" She kept firing and they kept coming, she thought she'd run out of ammo eventually until she saw an Engineer burst from the workshop nearby, realizing they were under attack, but the Engineer killed it with their tool. 'What the hell is going on!?' "I-" before she could speak up another Security personnel came through the main door and locked it. They looked totally out of it and not realizing the situation. "HEY WAKE UP!" She yelled, and started firing again, there were so many, but it seems like they weren't coming out of nowhere in droves anymore... maybe they can be defeated? At least here?

Just then a civilian came out, being chased by one of the creatures and she aimed her weapon, "Security open fire!" she yelled, hoping to get the other persons attention as she tried to get precise shots off, not hitting the civilian, and make sure to kill whatever it is, fast.
Alright, here's my attempt at using the system VK made. I'm using a ten-scale since its simpler.

I don't think REL is skill, moreso it's speed. But we don't really require captions as I understand it. However... you, and whoever else wants to upgrade their guns, can currently have a max of 2 upgrades. (That's 2 Power nodes, and that's generous speaking of the games don't really start you with them, and they are also needed to open doors, especially in the case they are more scarce in this playthrough)

He's actually scared shitless, sorry if I wasn't clear enough on that. To be fair, I can't tell where anyone else is, including where I'm supposed to be, so I was hoping in the next post someone would be able to find me. It seems we're going off in different directions, and I didn't feel right just to find the rest of the party off the bat, but I was hoping we could group up soon. I tried sticking to the map the best I could, and if I had to estimate, I'd say somewhere at the mouth of the secure area. I didn't expect all 13 necromorphs to be packed into one hallway, thus I only encountered two of them.

As for word count, my opening posts are typically lengthy because I want them to be. Just like ClocktowerEchos, my posts can be anywhere from a short paragraph to a lot longer as my first post was. Type for as long as you must, it's all about how well you can portray a character rather than type the most words.

(Read the first IC, we're all in one, small shopping hallway)
As I read the posts to prepare my own post, I run into two problems.

1.@Sabotage@ClocktowerEchos You guys sure type a lot for casual. If mine becomes half that is anyone going to feel I killed the mood? My posts tend to fluctuate, they just do and I can't help it.

2.@Sabotage Where are you in the roleplay? Are you in the hallway where everyone is supposed to be? I can't tell. You shifted from what like 3... 4 places? And if you are in the hallway with everyone, yer character is acting like it's all calm and collected. The hallway we are in there's... kind of.... enemies everywhere.
@VKAllen I like that. Anyone else agree with this method?
Ah, I was just checking to make sure not rushing. I'll also post just wanted a person or two to start it off.
@Ebony and Ivory@Sabotage Still in this?
@Heartfelt Gamer

Try This

Yeah I was busy and all over the place yesterday, forgot it says the benefits right on the node piece.
@VKAllen Are you busy? Think you could help us out? I'm too afraid to play Dead Space again, it practically gives me a heart attack with my weak heart. If you could map out the upgrade routes that'd be great

Edit What I mean what each upgrade node does.
