@PKMNB0Y He isn't meant to be a dedicated mage. I should have made it clearer, but the basic idea is that he is half demon as his mother was a succubus. So, that's a part of the reason why he has been really successful as a merchant cause this entire life he has had innate magic that makes him more... convincing. But, he doesn't know that so I left it vague when describing it cause he doesn't even know that he can use magic. But, other than that, he doesn't really use magic. Maybe he can branch out later and learn illusion magic? But I haven't planned on it. Also, the only real skill that he know is being a merchant and how to protect himself with a sword. He doesn't really know carpentry. Just basic knowledge, which I think most people would have. That said, I'll make it clearer and edit my post.

Also, yes. Missing an appearance. Trying to find a suiting image, but nothing is coming up so far. If it continues to be unfruitful, then I'll resort to just describing with words.
Name: Caelis Wolff
Age: 29
Race: Human
Appearance:

Personality: Practicality, that is the word that can best describe Caelis in terms of how he thinks. He isn't the one to make friendly small talk for no reason. That said he isn't a particularly mean or cruel person, but on the flip side he isn't someone who has never told a lie in his life for some sort of benefit. So, don't expect him to be the paragon of good or evil. He is just looking out for his own best interests and sometimes it collides with acts that people can consider to be morally right or wrong.

Abilities: There is no one skill that Caelis is particularly very skilled at. As a merchant, one has to be proficient in many areas. Thus, Caelis is a very capable negotiator and businessman. His years of travelling has exposed him to numerous languages that he picked up along the way... not to mention he had to learn how to handle a sword while on the road as even during times of peace there are desperate people who are willing to kill for profit. Thus, Caelis is capable in many regards, but one skill does not really stand out. However, he does have some innate magical abilities that Caelis isn't aware of.

Salvaged Item: His personal cutlass that he had commissioned for this expedition. Although it had been intended to serve more of a ceremonial/decorative purpose, it is a well forged blade.

History: Caelis was born to a single father. He had never met his mother, or at least has no memories of her. No, all he remembers is being raised by his father who never told him much of his mother. However, many of the adults in the small town that Caelis was born in gossiped around him whenever they saw him. Mentioning "Demon-spawn", "Half-Incubus", or "Succubus' bastard" among other curses, the towns people seemed to abhor him. When he brought it up to his father, he told him to ignore them and that they were going to leave the town soon anyways. The towns people were just spiteful and his father assured Caelis that his mother did love him very much.

His father was a merchant as well who had temporarily stopped travelling to raise Caelis. At 12, he was old enough to start to learn his father's trade. Thus, he traveled with his father and amassed wealth. It seemed that Caelis was just a natural born, charismatic merchant as he did very well. Hence, they expanded their business and started their own company after several years. The Wolff Trading Company grew into naval expeditions as well and established itself as a major trading company. It took a lot of work, but the Wolff Trading Co. was eventually chartered to supply, and help with the newest expedition to the new world. In return, the company would receive a share of the exotic goods that the 2nd expedition would bring back. Thus, Caelis joined the expedition as a representative of the company to ensure that everything would go smoothly.

Nation of Origin: The Republic of Lothringa

Nation Lore: The Republic of Lothringa is a merchant republic where the wealthy hold much sway over the nation. However, due to its nature as a Republic, Lothringa welcomes people of all races but is primarily occupied by humans. Humans hold the majority of the council seats, 7/10. With 2 Dwarven and 1 Elven representative taking the other seats, the Republic is known for being a economic hub where goods from all reaches of the known world pass through. However, racism and religious zeal is ever present in the Republic. Few people trust the orcs and even fewer trust those of occult or dark origins such as the dark elves or minor demon spawn. Historically, the Republic of Lothringa used to be a strong hold of the Faith and Crusaders who launched expeditions against the historical enemies of god and man. However, the long centuries of peace and its ideal location made the Crusader state turn into a merchant republic.

Other: He enjoys good food. So much so that he learned how to cook and might be able to make some of the best tasting food people have had. That is if he had proper ingredients.

Name: Attolia

Leaders:
Attolis Lothar Wolff

Location:
H11

Population:
500

Background/History:
The Attolians are a transhumant/nomadic pastoral people. Meaning, rather than being true nomads who randomly move based on the movement of the herd, the Attolians have certain set locations that they typically settle depending on the season. During the warm seasons, they typically settle in a plain or lower valley closer to the temperate coast. During this time, the Attolians do practice some agriculture and grow crops to supplement their food. In the cooler seasons, the Attolians move north, and more inland to the steppes where the arid desert provides warmth, but there's still enough grass for the herds.

Historically, the Attolians were a nomadic horse tribe. They relied on their quick, nimble horses to guide the herds of sheeps and goats and hunt prey. On occasion, they would have contact with the Westerners and it wasn't unheard of for the Attolians to occasionally serve as guides to the untamed lands and even do a bit of trading by forming small caravans. However, since their livelihoods mostly relied on the herds, the encroaching westerners pushed the herds away. The Attolians did their best to avoid the territorial grounds of native tribes, but conflict wasn't always avoidable. Sticking to the plains, the Attoilans used their horsemanship and hunting skills to good use when situations demanded that the Attolians fight. Then at a certain point, the Attolians reached the sea. They knew that they could not flee anymore. This began the move for the Attolians to become a settled people.

In present day Attolia, the average Attolian is familiar with the spoken language of the Westerners due to centuries of contact, but literacy is a different matter than only a few know how to read and write. Most of these people serve as merchants among the Attolians. All Attolian men are still expected to learn horsemanship since it is men who tend to the herds and hunt while the settlement is mostly inhabited by women, the young and the old. The herd is still a major part of the Attolian way of life and means of living. They provide the majority of the food, and goods to trade in the community.

The Wolff family has historically been the leader of the Attolians with each successive leader given the title of Attolis which means "The First Person of Attolia". The family name of each Attolian is very significant as it indicates the family's historical contribution to the tribe. The Wolff family was named after the wolf as it had managed to unite the tribe and effectively form a "pack" that is powerful when working together. Other distinguished family names include "Hawke and Meare"
Hello there, just discovered this RP. Is there anymore space?

Planning a transhumance pastoralist community likely located to the north near the deserts, but mostly on the plains.
Very interested!
James awoke from all the noise. He had a slight headache and thought "I barely drank last night... why do I have a hangover?" However, he would soon completely forget about the fact that he had the headache as he looked around where he had woken up. "What the fuck?" He couldn't help but quietly say to himself. It looked like a battle happened here. There were bodies covered in blood. James immediately got up and started to check if any of them were alive as he scurried around to check for their pulses.

It was then that he realized more about what was going on in this room. One woman was crying on a sofa and other one who seemed to be talking to her. He said loudly in a somewhat admonishing manner "This isn't the time to be crying. Help me find any survivors." as he checked one body. "What the hell happened here?" James asked without anyone in mind. He just hoped that someone would be able to tell him why he was here and what was going on.
