@Elitestpotato The character is interesting, no doubt about that, however the combination of abilities is unfortunately impractical in its current format for this particular setting.

I'm still a bit confused on how the armor and weapons are enhanced. Coming from neverwinternights for so long, mages and non mages practiced in what was known as alchemical enchantments, would this be like what you're describing? It was a lengthy process indeed and required certain rare materials, dependent on the enchantment. However it took a mage to become a master enchanter mostly because of the advantages of the class and the specifics and understanding of the trade. Edict's only weakness is that he is an 'above average' swordsman, so he's still better than most and only the best can defeat him. And to me, that is still op.

One thing I get from this is that he would need a very powerful mage to make it, not only that but.. As a way out, I would think that an 'intensive' suit of armor would eventually ware down the clothing, like charges on an item, right? So, I would say either it's just not practical long term, or perhaps it can be limited in some way? Perhaps something that would wear off? So what does a smart mage do? A smart mage waits until his ability wares off before trying to fight him head on with magic. Or... Perhaps it could be an ability that only takes affect when he can lock eyes with the mage? Or something to that affect. Basically things that make it not automatic, like instead there are situations that a mage can use in order undo them.
@Elitestpotato I do like the concept of your character, however I do have a few questions.

What exactly is his armor and weapons made of and what makes them so special that they can not only deflect magic, but also drain their attacker? I do understand that he has trained nearly all of his life to fight against the mages, however he sounds a bit overpowered - Even if they are lower tier spells that would be deflected, put him up against any mage, and between the dampening of damage and draining of energy, Edict would always win. And if this is the case, wouldn't they outfit the rest of the town with these weapons and armor to end magic for good?

Also to answer your question, it ended roughly 10 years ago. It wasn't a war that spanned over a long period of time. there were certainly tensions and squabbles that then led to a full blown out war, that I'd say perhaps lasted just over a few months?
roughly about 10 years ago
Her gaze drifted around them as she pondered his questions. What did it all mean?! Why were they even here?! She hadn't the slightest clue, and neither did her compatriots. Frank was waiting for her at home, Frank the furry felion. He'd be getting hungry soon and there would be no one there to feed him. A feeling of emptiness passed over her, and she sulked. Her hands clenched tightly for a moment and with a deep breath, she released.

"Well, everything happens for a reason, right?" the emptiness echoed through her voice along with defeat. "We know nothing of this land, how to get home, or if it is even possible to do so. If not to find a way, then we should press on for answers at the very least. I saw none at the beach - so I figure this is our only way. We were all so preoccupied with the here and now, we should perhaps think on the possibility of us not being able to get back. Her jaw tightened as she realized the truth in her last sentence.

She had worked so hard for the life she had, not that it was much, but it was her life, and it was what she had made for herself, all on her own. She lived paycheck to paycheck, there was no 'hefty savings' for her, no significant other that would worry about her disappearance, and whatever family she had left had lived so far away, it wouldn't be for another few weeks until they worried where she was. A frown formed as she released the tension that creased her face. She wasn't sure if she wanted to go back, but on the other hand, she didn't want to die in the forest. Dying... death was the only feeling she got from the sandy front they were walking away from. She was able to survive on her own for so long, she could do it here.

It was near impossible to tell what time of day it was, how much time had gone by, how long they were asleep for, or even when exactly they were taken from their own world and or time. But she wouldn't know any of this if they stayed put at the beach. Tim was right, why hadn't they thought about it before? Either way, it was eating at her now. And so, with a look of determination, she nodded to the others. "I say we should go! Yeah ... lets go."
Heyyo :)

I'm here everyone, don't worry. Thanks so much @The Fated Fallen for helping out, it is much appreciated. I'm at work currently, but I'll be around to answer questions and/or approve characters. I should have the first post up by tonight when I get home. An active character list would be much appreciated.

At the moment only the following have submitted character sheets:
@Crazedm
@Strafe
@notdeadyet
@AiyvaGuard

I can definitely start off with this, but we would love more, and I know there were a lot more people who were interested, and some who had questions.
Again, I am available if anyone has a question or comment, just pm me :)

@AiyvaGuard those are great pictures. I think the first and the last 3 depict more or less what I had in mind for the town. The second picture wouldn't fit very well as it is a port town, most of their trade is by boats.
So I feel like a horrible person guys. I know I said there would be something up by tonight, but I just don't have it in me to complete what I have. It's been a long ass day and work has been kicking my ass. I should have some quiet alone time to finish everything up on Saturday. I would say tomorrow, but the hubby has made plans. I truly hate to do this to ya'll. I was working on something and at the moment, I'm just staring at it with droopy, weary eyes, more excited to listen to music and just browse fb until I fall asleep. Again, I do apologize. I'll be around sporadically to answer any questions and comment on character sheets, as well as I may be submitting my own, if I can gain the courage. :p
Haha I have faith. But as I said, jeltheor will not take the betrayal lightly. She made a verbal contract with him. :p
@Notdeadyet as long as you can keep that in mind, you're good to go

@aiyvaguard you're also good to go

Just place your characters is the character tab, that would be great!
@notdeadyet hehe I got that part, and I think her background speaks for that. It is beautifully written. I was just curious. She turned from her summoner. Even for one as herself, there are consequences for that. Jeltheor doesn't take betrayal lightly. So I'm curious how that betrayal played out, and how it will continue to effect her story.

@AiyvaGuard ahh, that makes more sense hehe. Sorry it's been a crazy couple of days
@AiyvaGuard I was a little confused reading your backstory. Was she originally from Waeldeshore, and the traveled back?
