The Basics
I am a pragmatic mystic.
I'm into yearning and delight.
I am savage yet delicate.
I am taller than you are.
I am into the sciences but have a creative side too.
I paint, I write novels and poetry, I sex skulls.
I treasure interconnections.
I'm a geek.
I like academic texts, science fiction, field guides, complexity, spreadsheets, board games, video games, science museums, comic books too.
I tend towards stoicism but if you can get me out of my head, I can be quite gregarious!
I'm a defender of wildness and wilderness both within and without us.
You can find me in my natural habitat exploring a forest, a bit of coast, a park. I'm usually found picking up rocks and shells and bones and wondering why certain leaves are shaped the way they are.
I've been known to befriend cephalopods at the seashore and to teach opossums about marxism.
I'm often spotted in used bookstores catering to my addiction (It isn't a problem until I run out of shelves!).
I have been known to spend inordinate amounts of time just sitting around, thinking, reading, or writing.
I volunteer because the world isn't going to save itself. Apathy and ennui is boring and we can all do better.
I play, I create, I say I'm going to clean house but end up taking a nap in a sunbeam.
I don't mind getting dirty and I clean up nice.
I like going on adventures and the greatest gift I can give or receive is a novel experience!

Co-creating is the best thing about roleplay. Sure you can write anything you want, whenever you want, but knowing what comes next is just monottany. Im new here, but Im not new to writing, and I think we might share some interests! Id love to share some brain slobber with you, if you have the time to chat!

You bring up an important part; surprise. I'm fairly introspective so know the nooks and crannies of my patterns. It's nice to throw some chaos into the mixture, sometimes.
Welcome @illuminaughti!

You are like...my twin, except for the "digging up dead people".

Unless that was metaphorical...

Quite literal, darling, I was an archaeologist.

test. I hope this works. I still can't unlocked that ability to add a bio even though I posted to introduce yourself.
Hello there,
I'm illuminaughti. Not ~the illuminaughti~ obviously, or as far as you know. :P Better not ask too many questions if you want to keep your vital organs.

...now that I've gotten the threats out of the way!

I'm an experienced though out of practice roleplayer from the dawn of time looking to rekindle my old love of co-creation. I miss writing alongside talented folks, playing in other peoples' passionately crafted worlds, and generally being part of a writing community.

In the real world I'm female, a queer person; I'm a scientist, a poet, an artist, an activist. I'm a nerd (yay genre fiction!). I used to dig up dead people for a living. I write boring things for work trying to save the world. I've written a few novels that have yet to see the light of day. Sometimes I bake cakes that are too large. I make a vegan meatlovers deep-dish pizza that make anyone who eats it fall in love with me. I don't get out as much as I'd like. I have an extensive collection of rocks, cool sticks, old books, dead animals, and things in jars.

In regards to what I'm after;
I prefer quality of quantity though quantity is nice too.
Consistency is important to me in my old age.
I mostly write science fiction and fantasy and I'm not opposed to a little unearthly horror.
I'm not opposed to mature themes but don't dwell in that domain.
My grammar is not perfect (that's why I hire editors!) but I've been called a talented word-smith.
I prefer original worlds though have been known to partake of some Star Trek roleplay in the past.
I'm hungry to co-create so will try to fill any role that is offered.
Nice to meet you! I'm new too.
Everything you've said resonated very much with me! Am I your escaped clone?
