The two firing into it's legs gave a brief exchange of looks as if to say, "that got him good! We might actually beat this thing!" before returning to fire at the beast, trying to finish it off before it could repair itself. Unfortunately, it appeared like this would not be the case as it swooped down, chomping down on the other Ord Donna on their team. By now the amphibious woman managed to wrap up the wounded, screaming man's leg with a tourniquet. That would save his life...for the moment. They had to escape back to base to get medical treatment if he was going to survive this thing in the long run. Going there on foot, with one of them having a wounded leg, while a monster was chasing them...that put a horrible twist on things. If only help would arrive soon, but she knew it couldn't come this earlier unless luck was on their side. Clearly it was the opposite.

"For the UNT!" One of the men at the monster's flank shouted in a panicked voice, charging forward with guns blazing. He knew they couldn't last long as sitting ducks anyways, so he might as well charge forward and hope for the best with his shots striking the weak points at point blank range, should he manage to make it that far. His friend gave him the best covering fire he could muster while the woman draped the wounded man over her shoulder and began trying to get him to safety away from the battle.
The humming of a pink shaded fallthrisi ringed throughout the ship's corridors as she floated merrily through them at head height. While she was a princess of her kind, she was only an ensign here working as a communication technician, but she seemed very happy about her situation if her current mood was any indication. The male nabghor trailing behind her on his four legs and two arms knew her since they were both very young. He was glad to see her so happy at her chance to help others. Even if he was more out of his element traveling around the galaxy in space ships, if she wished it then that was enough for him. He was her loyal bodyguard and would follow her anywhere.

Suddenly a female, robotic voice sounded into the corridor, cutting the latest tune short. The voice belonged to ANI, the resident AI of the Exeralune system.

"Ensign Vi Mo-an and Ensign Polahni," she identified them. "This is just between us, but it turns out that my sensors down here do not offer 100% coverage as of yet. I have detected a strange weight anomaly near the right rear landing gear compartment, and know that what's causing this error hasn't left, but this is all I can tell from inside my little metal box."

The nabghor, Uran Polahni, reached for his shotgun strapped onto his back, fearing the worst. Mana Vi Mo-an's body language was harder to read to outsiders due to her being a floating gelatinous being, but she didn't appear worried.

"You'd like us to check this out?" she questioned in a sign song tone.

"Indeed. This was only priority #314 of mine due to it being a contained incident, but if you're already down here than it wouldn't hurt...unless what's down there kills you once you open it up." She said matter-of-factly. "Perhaps I shouldn't have mentioned it after all."

She was a computer, so it was unlikely she was earnest in her last statement. Who ever heard of a computer changing it's mind after getting no additional information to change it? Looks like their AI had some quirks to go along with it. Wonderful.

"I am most curious and shall investigate," Mana replied, already making her way to the location after eyeing an electronic map of the floor with an unblinking eye.

"Behind me," Uran said gruffly, standing next to the panel that would open up the ceiling to the landing gear compartment. Once opened he'd have an easy blast down with his shotgun into it's most effective range, making mince meat of any threatening beast down there should it try to attack. For it to attack it would have to climb up to get them or shoot at them, but he could always close the door before that happened should his first blast not do the trick.

Just as he was ready to push the button with the nose of his gun, sirens began to blare.

"An unknown ship is moving to intercept. Ensign Mo-an, you're off duty so proceed to your room or other designated safe rooms," ANI spoke up.

Guess they'd check it out later. Uran began to turn to urge Mana to get going for her own safety, but they'd soon be interrupted...

"These are not likely pirates, as I know few who could get a hold on such a ship, and this doesn't strike me as something that they'd do," Hidden Eagle replied to Msalti's question. "Well, maybe one would but he'd certainly issue a challenge of bravado first. We've gotten no demands or other communication yet."

To the reptillian Do'Rak, his suggestion was completely in line with his thinking.

"Yes, only one of the approaching ships is large enough to have any meaninful boarding party unless their carrier joins in. Msalti's unit shall be our first line of defense against their most likely boarding location. The other units should scatter in other locations as backup, and then converge where and when the actual boarding location is confirmed," the captain said. "Try not to kill them unless necessary. I'd like to see if we can get any information out of them if we cannot contact with the carrier."

********************

Four large golden colored spacefighters flew in vanguard position to the boarding ship. They each had a bulky elzion canon on either side of the cockpit, which were separate structures from the main body held onto it by a much more thin portion of the ship. A smaller elzion weapon was at the front of the body for rapid firing attack. A red trail of gas lit up behind them from their three engines as they advanced forward. It was these vehicles that showed up on a view screen in the Exeralune Bridge. They were heavy spacefighters, perhaps capable of taking out frigates single handedly. Although the design was tweaked, he recognized this as being a UNT developed prototype.

"Enemy ships will arrive within 40 seconds. Do not engage them outside of the range of the Exeralune," Hidden Eagle ordered, his voice going into the cockpits of the Bokites under his command. "Direct hits from their primary guns will likely take you out in a single shot. Their smaller gun can also likely do the same thing seconds. In either case, do not let them get a clear shot at you. Only attack from behind at their engine or the cockpit. Their armor will not be easy to penetrate even so. Best case, bait them into revealing their weak points to the Exeralune and our larger guns will take them out."

At this point the small glint in the distance that was the enemy command ship began to grow larger. Perhaps they were going to join in on the fun as well. That may be very bad.
I have a strong urge to use one of my favorite created races for my scifi setting roleplay, a Fallthrisi, to take place in a sword fight using an ultra light weight sword that's still stronger than steel. Should add for interesting tactics to fight a small, floating being with whip-like arms. Anyone up for the challenge? It won't be for rank.
Posted my tag-team. I shall get going on my post.

Would be fun to have a Fallthrisi sword-user. Maybe in an arena battle and not in this story unless Mana learns self defense and uses a short sword made of really light material.
Name: Mana Vil Mo-an
Age: 34
Gender: Female
Race: Fallthrisi

Homeworld: Na La Li. Found in sector 40. It's a very cloudy world with many narrow mountains and oceans. The fallthrisi find this world very laid back and comfortable. They like to keep it preserved and create old time looking villages, but they do allow off-worlders there who follow their roles such as no pollution; noise or otherwise, besides what is necessary.

Position: Communication Technician

Personality: She's more regal and reserved than most of her race, although still expresses a childlike curiosity for things that catches her attention. She can be very kind to others unless they harm her friends, then she can bravely charge in to defend them from misfortune. She doesn't tolerate bullies.

Appearance: She's a red shaded fallthrisi, but the pigment is lighter than average so she appears slightly pinkish. She has a slender form and longer "limbs" than normal, but not unusually so. She wears a small, glittering strand of beads wrapped around her body behind her eyes, which dangle down a foot on either side of her and jingle lightly with her movements at the noise level of footsteps. She has a purple dot painted between her eyes.

Abilities: Her physical abilities are average for her kind, so she cannot rely on them in a fight unless she can use her slipperiness and floating to outmaneuver opponents. She's best at non-combative qualities such as peaceful negotiations and using her wits. She knows an astounding number of languages; 28, learning around one a year. Most are found in the UNT but she has included common ones from outside.

Equipment: She carries no equipment besides her "clothing".

Biography: The Vil Mo-an family is equivalent to Fallthrisi royalty on a planetary scale, considered around upper mid level. However, there's a lot of different royalty in their culture, so each planet could have around 600 or more prince and princesses, called loeln and laeln respectively. Mana is such a princess, so would be called Laeln Mo-an by those of her race or others respecting of her title.

While growing up she developed a very close relationship with a young Uran from off world who would always protect her, as Mana was rather clumsy in her early years and would often get herself into trouble. Uran's father is a UNT general who had a meeting with Mana's father to discuss security on planet Na La Li, and the two children met up then, becoming inseparable during their weeklong meeting. After seeing how resilient the two were to not be separated, Uran's father agreed that he would be personally responsible for security there, settling down and letting the relationship bloom on the peaceful planet, ready for retirement in the coming days regardless. Few soldiers occupy the planet and make themselves as inconspicuous as possible, as per Mana's father's wishes.

As she grew out of her childhood years, Mana's duty as princess involved helping the galaxy improve as a whole, collective unit, so she went off to join the UNT along with Uran, although her status doesn't carry a huge amount of weight in her new position. She got her start by translating for people on poor worlds and giving them helpful information. She later got assigned to a UNT scouting ship after they saw her skills in action. She was reassigned to the Exeralune upon Hidden Eagle's request, although she doesn't know how one such as herself caught his eye, even if she was a princess.

Name: Uran Van Mal Polahni
Age: 36
Gender: Male
Race: Nabghor

Homeworld: Kortahn. It's a rocky, hot world in sector 40 with a thick atmosphere. However, he was brought to the Fallthrisi planet of Na La Li for most of this childhood years.

Position: Security Personnel

Personality: He's a nabghor of few words, standing as a silent and loyal bodyguard and close friend to Mana. Sometimes he doesn't get the hint when she wants to be left alone. He's not good at interacting with others so may seem standoffish.

Appearance: He looks like a normal, albeit athletic nabghor with many tattoos on her front two pairs of limbs and down his back. He wears armor over this a lot of the time.

Abilities: He can run 50 miles per hour for short bursts and hit people with enough force to send grown men crashing into walls behind multiple feet behind them. However, his steady lifting force is not as strong as these bursts of raw power. He's trained in shotgun use.

Equipment: He wields a nabghor made shotgun called the Ultaga e-Mankz 433. It has high power at close range, unleashing a burst of metal projectiles that's particularly good at destroying shields.

Biography: (See Mana's sheet)
Huh actually I don't think I can post.

Would I be able to create another character as well?

Yes
I might make the fallthrisi live longer than 60 and have one as a character. A tech of some sort. Could be communication and relay information to the combat oriented characters. Her bodyguard will be a nabghor who will be a man (or goat alien thing) of few words.
I might as well post tomorrow unless everyone wants to get a post out before I advance the story to when the ships start attacking. I'll see if I can get a character going in that post and maybe find scree.
I'll get to my post on the weekend.
What's the post order or post ethics? @ImportantNobody

Post order is give everyone interacting with your character a chance to post between your posts. By yourself and you should wait a couple people.

I didnt know ethics has mc to do in posting besides to insulting us or controlling other people's characters without permission.

Also, if anyone is in the area of the ship near landing gear etc etc, then you might keep hearing banging in sets of three. This may also be getting more frantic after the sirens and shaking.

It would be funny if a stowaway is trapped in the room next to him and is annoyed.
