Nothing. Hours of listening to this girl stammer through pages, and Guts still hadn't found what he wanted. Yawning, he stared out the window, and the setting Sun. His neck twinged. "Could it...." he said to himself. Hanako stopped reading as Guts got up, and tore a bandage off his neck, turning around to look at a wall mirror. "Shit." he said aloud, the kind of swear where you have to emphasize every sound. "Mister Guts, what's wrong? Mister Guts?" Hanako asked, following the man into the halls. Guts barged into a closet, rifling through various shelves, then putting on an apparatus, giving him an iron mimic of an arm. Next, he heaved a slab of iron over his shoulder. "Is there somewhere really secluded near here?" he asked. "There's the equipment shed out in the field, but-" "I'm sleeping there tonight. Don't come in until dawn." Guts said, marching down the hall. Hanako watched after the man as he left, pulling the face-egg out of her pocket. As his aloha shirt grew smaller down the hall, she couldn't help but feel the lights around him growing dimmer, until he finally turned a corner and disappeared from sight.
Hanako soon found herself following behind Guts, having nervously agreed to help him scour the library in search of a certain kind of book. Of course, Lilly would have done it herself, but she could not read. She nervously eyed Guts' stump as they entered the library, and he began taking tome after tome, occasionally asking her questions about which was the oldest and what material they covered. The pair soon assembled a stack twenty high on occultism, mystics, and dark magics. Mister Guts had odd tastes, she considered. "W-well, I guess I'd better-" she turned to dash off before a powerful hand caught her wrist. "Oi. We're not done yet. What's this word?" he asked, pointing to a page with his stump. "...T-the." "And this one?" "Mystick?" "And this one?" "Mr. Guts... can you read?" she asked, nervously. Guts stared at her blankly before answering, "No, why?" "B-but, but everyone can read, can't they?" "Maybe in some stuffy building full of academics and scribes. The rest of us have bodies we can put to use." Guts replied. At this, Hanako's eyes drifted back down to his missing hand. "But...." she began. "You think this is a problem? Slap a magnet on this and an injury like this is no problem. An injury can't bring you down if you don't let it. Got it?" Hanako's eyes lit up. This man, missing limbs, and etched in countless scars, was something else. She sat down next to him. "The mystic arts are..." she began, and together the two began to read, until the Sun sank low on the horizon.
Guts had only walked and thought for a short amount of time before bumping into something scrawny. In front of him was a green boy, his eyes concealed by absurdly thick glasses, and his neck warmed by a firey scarf. "It begins", Kenji whispered as he stared at the swordsman, awestruck. With that, he dashed off, leaving Guts alone once more. The swordsman didn't sense any hostility, but couldn't help but feel something off about him. ~~~~~~~~~ Some time later, Hanako had tracked her target to an empty classroom. Alone, she could run in, hand over the face-egg-thing, and oh no what was he doing. She peeked around a corner. The one-armed man had sat down, and was getting directions from a stately blonde girl. And Lilly was smiling. He'd probably get them a lot now. No, she had to cut off the tie now, she decided, and marched into the room. The moment her foot created a tap on the floor, Guts' head spun around, his singular eye glaring at her. She gasped; from here she could see his face and arm were both riddled with tiny, ragged scars. She let out a stammered squeak. "Oh, Hanako, is that you? Come sit down, I was just telling Mr. Guts about our library. He was looking for older books; I was just saying you might be able to help him." Lilly said, giving a ladylike smile. Hanako gave a quiet, nervous 'yes', and sat down with the two. Guts made a reticent question about some other old tomes, and Lilly gave the usual dignified response. Meanwhile, Hanako sat next to the man, trying to avert her gaze, but nervously glancing at his stump or permanently shut eye.
<Snipped quote by IncredibleBee> Would it help if I advertised the RP in my sig? I think the people in this other RP I'm in could be quite interested. They're the active type, you see.
Not a bad idea.
3. To prove you have read the rules, put 'REBORN' at the end of your CS in bold. I have the right to not allow you into the rp without telling you why if I see you haven't added this (and I expect no one else to tell them why)
Haha, I found it.
Name: Gein Gender: Male Character Type: Seraphim Appearance: A tall, bald humanoid with a slightly lean stature. However, his arms, chest, and legs all reveal mechanical components where his synthetic skin has worn away; you can see artificial muscle fibers, servos, and similar, covered up by thin armor plating to protect from falling debris and other construction hazards. The skin was a courtesy in the first place; as an industrial worker unit, appearances were considered secondary. Most of the body besides the head is almost entirely artificial, in order to withstand dangerous work conditions that would be considered unsafe for human workers. Gein's face actually contains softer, kinder features one might expect from an aristocrat. His hair is missing, and there's a serial number over his left eye, reading 87694. Additionally, his teeth are actually sculpted from metal. His only remaining clothing is a pair of dingy, torn up, bright orange work pants, and some boots. Career: Gein was an industrial welding unit. Skills: Gein's insides were replaced with various materials and tools required for welding. Inventively, some of this equipment is hooked into his heart, and feeds off his inherent angelic power to create fuel for his welding torches. Gein has several welding torches; one is a set of four hilt-like torches built directly into his ribs. These have a small but powerful fuel cell that replenish themselves when not in use, feeding off of his heart. Additionally, he has two less powerful ones built into the back of his wrists. All of these are capable of welding metal together, but also creating a plasma cutter. Supernatural Abilities: Heat Manipulation Personality: Purge. Bio: Gein was a member of the Seraphim whose only purpose was to purge everything impure from the Earth. Plants, animals, and even humanity itself had to burn. That was his only purpose. In some ways, he was as much a machine then as he is now. After being captured, lobotomized, and tossed in a garbage heap, his brain has slowly rebooted. His memories are slowly returning, and he is slowly becoming aware of his defeat. And he's about to become very angry. OPTIONAL Likes: Data not found. Dislikes: Data not found. Theme Song: Data not found. Other: Data not found. Reborn or whatever
I'll join. Lemme type up a CS.
<Snipped quote by IncredibleBee> I'm all for a new Co-GM but why did Roxas leave in the first place? Did I miss something in the OOC?
Just "various reasons". No actual reason given. No but yeah, people are dropping like flies. I offered to co-GM forever ago so I could handle sign-ups. If it's necessary, I can do IC stuff as well. The spot's open, so I guess I'll put the offer back out. We should also recruit more players. When Vita gets back, he should add [Accepting] or [Recruiting] or [Needs players], etc. It might also be wise to PM any friends who might be interested.
I come back home from my trip (hence absence) and I find more people dropping out. WTF?
Indeed. We'll have to stage a recruitment drive.
I'm sorry to hear that, and to hear about Roxas dropping. I'm now without a co-GM.
Ahem.
