My shield system works in pulses. It's a matter of timing; your missiles can hit them if you know when to land them. Generally just keep shooting and you'll hit them. The wave pulse systems more or less make swarm attacks (like spamming missiles all at once) hard to use against them. My guys essentially have advanced defensive, but inferior offensive systems.

Changed absorbent with grounded since they're basically the same thing.

But I will not recede on the human part since the vast majority of my faction aren't human. They dominant species are roaches.

It's just that humans are the top caste.

You can just treat them as a rebel force if you want since as far as the Celestial Empire would be concerned, they pretty much are. They're pretty much a insular protectorate and could be a "break away group" of reactionaries if you need them to be to fit in more.

Nevermind, I read the OP again and withdraw from the RP.
Their weapon tech is substandard. They just have good defense systems.

Does this have to do with the world size system that is horribly rigid? Wouldn't a large Terra be much more fertile than a large desert for instance?
Name: Thebian Protectorate

Alias/Abbreviation: TP

Nation Specie{s}: Humans and Roaches

Specie{s} Description:

-Humans are (generally) 6 foot tall bipeds with pale, sometimes brown skin. They have a head with two eyes, being bilaterally symmetrical creatures. They have a pointy noise, blood or brown/black hair and tend to have brown, green or blue eyes. They are somewhat strong as a species for a creature than lives on a world with somewhat low gravity. Have okay immune systems, of which need to be augmented with anti-bodies and numerous forms of medical therapy to survive in space in order to deal with space cancer. Humans also have two arms and two legs. They have hands with five fingers, opposable thumbs and reproduce by live birth. Both genders are similar, but the males tend to be buff. They are a species who are very ambitious and prone to division. Despite their individualistic mindset, Humans tend to group under charismatic figures and whole societies can be structured under caste systems in many cases in their history. In more recent history, humans have tended towards more republican forms of government, but hierarchal systems (especially aristocracies) are common.

-The Roaches are large, cockroach-like aliens who are hexapods. They are eusocial creatures, with their queen laying numerous eggs and having three biological castes. In practice their societies tend to be rather laid back since they already have biological castes so enforcing them isn't a major priority to those in power (unlike humans, who are biologically much more similar). Roach societies tend to be clan-based, with the queen as the head of the clan. More advanced Roaches have a oligarchy of roach queens who work for the common good of the "common hive". Roach hives tend to be massive, often eating into mountains where millions of Roaches swarm in densely populated areas. The Roaches have a habit of hoarding and really eating anything they find edible, even each other sometimes. The Roaches prefer anywhere rich in food, garbage dumps ar a favorite among their kind as the Thebians have noticed.

National Symbol/Flag/Emblem: A big black square with angled edges. Nothing else. (It's a black octogon)

Nation Population: A hundred million humans, ten billion roaches with hundred thousand queens.

Ships:

Not sure what's balanced, so bare minimum in commercial, heavy in military and small in civilian.

Nation Focus: Military

Nation Government: They are a oligarchy.

Nation Economy: They are a command economy.

Nation Military Description: About 30% of the human population have extensive military training (Even if they are not on the field or even Warriors of any sort), mind you this is all supported by their wealth of Roaches slaves and automating much of society. Along with their rather unitary lifestyle. The rest of the humans make the spaceships, food and handle architectural planning. Lazy people tend to be executed for not contributing to society.
Their military consists of over engineered spaceships that despite being war machines have somewhat weak FTL, not being able to go far distances at a time because making a larger FTL drive would mean they couldn't install more weapon systems.

They tend to be reliant on kinetic weaponry.

Their over engineered spaceships tend to be of the same three models; Bombarders, Fighters and Leaders.

Bombarder ships are for planetary attacks, mainly orbital bombardments and warrior deployments. Used mostly on their own world in practice since they haven't any reason to invade other societies, only intimidate.

The Fighters are their main ships and are very organized, often taking formations to amplify their collective strength. They make use of all the systems outlined earlier.

Leader ships are bigger, more powerful ships where leaders of a ship brigade organize the fighter ships. These tend to have more protection systems and are obligated to self-destruct should the battle be lost. Retreat is not a option.

Nation Culture Description: Syracuse day is celebrated yearly by having citizens go on a bug raid- or murdering thousands of Roaches for the hell of it.

Their society is built around the idea of unitary existence, perfection of the human form and have militarized heavily with people being trained for decades with a whole arsenal of weaponry and use of various forms of equipment. They are given power suits and usually will board enemy ships to slaughter enemy crews, not to take over the ship, but simply for the sake of the slaughter.
They are a deeply conservative culture reliant on alien slaves outside the cities and robot labor in the cities, with each human expected to perpetually work. Laziness is punished by death, with robots used to monitor and keep track of the productivity of citizens in Thebian society. They are a extremely paranoid society whose military can't really go out and conquer other worlds due to needing weapons to keep down the Roaches.

There is no marriage in their society, they just have people randomly assigned to breed children when the need is necessary. Sexual activity is repressed with even war rape punishable by death. Really, many things in their society are punishable by death and the totalitarian policies have led to a stagnant population over time, as many people end up being killed by the state or in training. Breeding had to become more common to make up for this, but remains heavily regulated. Defection is hard as armor has controls on it that will kill Warriors who defect. Taking off the armor will also kill you.

People are raised by the state and not by a family, for the state is seen as one massive family with everyone having a common genetic origin. Everyone must work for the common good, the oligarchs being selected by earlier generations of oligarchs for the most esteemed of people in their society.

Their repressive society suffered multiple rebellions historically, all crushed brutally by the Warrior class. Some manage to get by on a double life regardless, something that's caused there to be machine police who will watch some people every second of their life, even being too suspicious may lead to someone either being put to death for wasting resources or forced into another round of training. Roach rebellions tend to be bombed from orbit should they ever get out of hand.

Nation Economy Description: Stagnant since they rely on alien slave labor and aren't really capitalistic, wasting their R&D on military weapons to keep down their roach slaves while being generally a insular society who only interact with outsiders to monitor potential dangers to their world state.

National Figures: Syracuse the Great, the conqueror of the roaches is a legendary hero.

-Theocritus is the founder of the Theban Protectorate, he pretty much decided he wanted to use greco-Roman names for everything (along with even ripping off their culture into some weird confused mixture of these classical societies) and despised traditional human societies, seeing them as too materialistic and ignorant of the true pursuit of man. It was during his life that the general Syracuse finally conquered the Roaches, putting them to good use as menial slaves. The Roaches live a lower existence than robots as far as the Thebians are concerned, the robots keep order and enforce the slavery of the Roaches so than the humans can focus on proper pursuits.

-Marcus is the current first citizen of the Theban Protectorate and is notable for looking further outward, given the increasing political consolidation that has been occurring with the galactic council that has caused him to start amassing WMDs while making "alliances" with others who oppose the council out of sheer convenience. A universal galactic organization might actually hold them accountable for their actions with the radical views.

Since I have no pics, i'll tell you what it felt like.

It felt wooden and had lots of traction.
