That would make total sense, right? The crazy part is that you can't even activate those spells with something like energy. It has to be gold, or whatever else the spell uses.

Gold specifically likely induces some sort of reaction that it’s makeup energy alone doesn’t. But I can’t just say that as an all-encompassing blanket for the phenomenon.
