Hi! I’m Mac! …or Dmitri… or Die… or Slick… or Clover… or Trace…
…Obviously, none of these is my real name, (and by now you might have an inkling of an idea as to which fandom I came from before) so I don’t really mind being called using any of the names aforementioned above or by my character’s name when we talk in OOC. However, don’t mistake me or my character as the same entity. As I’ve said before “IC =/= OOC”
IRL, I am a 21 year old attending college as a 4th year an extendee Bachelor of Arts and Communication Student. I major in Speech Communication and minor in Broadcasting (journalism). Oh and I’m not a native English speaker so I might not catch some references, idioms, or metaphors. I will most likely ask you OOC for clarifications on some things because I sometimes misunderstand definitions despite being supposedly fluent in English.
Anyway, I’d like to think that I’m a fairly carefree person. It means that I’ll let us get away with doing a lot of shit (we’ll probably do a lot of crazy shit tbh), and my friends say that I’m pretty friendly too so I guess we can take their word for it. But, as all humans are bound to be, I do have my limits. With that, I wouldn’t say “tread lightly” with me. But I will say “let’s be decent” at least. Soo... Let’s just see where it goes, yeah?
Okay. Now for credibility.
I have been roleplaying on and off for... 5 or 6-ish years now. I used to roleplay in tumblr(dot)com for a couple of years before stopping for half a year, and then it became an on and off thing that ended up with me missing out on a lot of things IC and IRL. It became a nuisance and a source of frustration for me since I couldn’t keep up with my character’s life and my own life so I had to stop. I just didn’t have enough time to play as my characters (plural) on a regular basis while also balancing my social and college life so I had to stop doing it , kinda. So here I am, trying to get back at the swing of things since I would like to believe that I generally have my shit together now.
If you want to contact me, feel free to tag me in posts or send me a PM for more personal matters. But if you want to contact me regularly I suggest that you ask for my Discord account in private because I’m most often online there than here. Just don’t forget to introduce yourself and where we met though, okay?
So...... There we go. I felt like I’ve wanted to add something but I’m not quite sure what it was so let’s just awkwardly end this introduction here. I hope you have fun. Before you go, have my uwu face:
Aanshi stands 5’10 with a thick and muscular body build. Her hair is usually cut short for convenience and preference. Meanwhile, her body is littered with multiple scars both acquired from battles and self-inflicted. She does not wear any helmets due to to her horns. She instead wears a chainmail coif over it where she has fasteners that secure some chains underneath her horns. Aanshi’s casual wear is usually loose sleeveless tunics and black leggings. She mostly wraps her arms with bandages up to the end of her humerus where arm and shoulders meet.
Personality: Due to her years of wandering and people’s general treatment towards her, she learned to be self-reliant and independent. That made her unlikely to ask for help. But she tries her best to avoids over-estimating her abilities due to past experiences that resulted to a loss of something from her. That also meant that as long as she is tolerated, and given food and shelter, and time to read her slowly increasing book collection, she is fairly content to work and endure the glares of hatred and distrust that she gets surrounded with. However, this does not mean that she simply takes things in stride. The tiefling is also known for her frankness and unwillingness to back down from an argument if she knows that she is on the right. Thankfully she is not one to take things too personally so arguments rarely last for her. If things go awry, she is known to slip away in order to avoid physically being hurt or hurting someone in the process. If physical confrontations cannot be avoided, she usually tries her best to knock out the aggrieved party without killing them. But to paint her a saint is a mistake. Much like any mortal, her seemingly long patience also has its limit. It is rare to see her enraged, rarer still for her target to survive without outside intervention.
Aanshi is a woman with no life to live for and no purpose to fulfil until she joined the inquisition. And as a constant outsider to the world and woes of man, she would not mind to fight and see how this particular story ends even if it meant ending hers.
History:
Aanshi had a relatively quiet childhood. She was born to a human mother and a tiefling father that doted on her. The two used to work in the city: her mother as a seamstress and herbalist, while her father worked as a mercenary for hire. After the two had said their vows, they they settled down deeper into a woodland area where the couple built up their family and protected Aanshi from the cruelty of the world towards their kin.
While she may have been daunting due to her size, Aanshi was a fairly reserved yet energetic child. The tiefling devoted that energy into helping her mother around their house, attempting to do most of the heavy lifting whenever her father needed to leave for jobs. Her free time was mostly spent on combat training based on books that she and her mother buys from nearby towns whenever they leave to sell her woven goods, potions, and tonics. When her father noticed her interest in the combat arts despite her young age, he decided to train her whenever he was home much to the young tiefling’s delight. This was her father’s way of showing her love and affection, as well as giving her a way to protect herself, and control her.
What Aanshi didn’t expect was for her training to pay off far too early to her liking.
By the age of 13, the young tiefling’s mother felt something odd and decided to send Aanshi off to the woods to gather herbs as it was nearing sunset. While the tiefling also felt the errand as odd, she decided to follow her mother’s words and gathered herbs as was told. She came back to their house an hour later, greeted by the sight of six bloodied bodies. Two of them were her parents’ bodies and then there were four other men. She ran towards her parents to check on them and found her mother dead and her father barely holding on to life. It was here that he apologized to his daughter for not doing well enough to protect them before he expired. Aanshi, terrified and confused, ran towards the nearest town for help. But because of her heritage, she was instead cast out by some of the village’s men and had no other choice but to head back to her home. The young tiefling was forced to bury her parents between sobs before going through the four intruder’s bodies and throwing them deeper in the forest for the animals to feed on. When she finished her chores, she allowed herself to collapse on her parent’s room, barely able to feel anything past the overwhelming numbness of loss.
Aanshi spent a good amount of her days isolated in her family’s cottage in the woods where she hunted, trained, and read to keep herself alive and busy. On times where her thoughts and guilt ate her, she sought relief in her father’s relatively large stash of ale and other activities with a knife. Only when her father’s stash ran out did she decide to venture out of her lonesome home. Aanshi took what she deemed important: clothes, food, water, her father’s knife, and her mother’s pouch belt full of herbs, tonics, and potions.
The young tiefling ended up taking jobs whenever or wherever she was accepted. She slowly travelled away from her family home but made sure to make a regular journeys back to tend to her childhood home. However, she found the act all the more difficult as the months passed. She eventually stopped coming home out of convenience and her inability to properly cope with the history etched far too deep in the walls of her old home.
By the age of 15, Aanshi started entering arenas and mock battles in tandem to working odd jobs in order to make a better living. Here she built herself up to be known as “Forlorn Hope” due to her preference towards charging attacks and her aggressive fighting style. One could view her tactics as brash and bordering suicidal. However, her impressive win record and those who view her battles view it as the opposite as she was looked cool and calculative despite the chaos that would inevitably surround her.
After one of her routine battles, a woman wearing a light blue cloak with a white sun for an insignia approached her and offered her the option of working for an army. Aanshi found the offer interesting. In addition to interest, the thought of having another stable roof over her head and a bed to call her own enticed her into eventually taking the offer and thus started her story as a soldier under the Inquisition. Her ferocity in battle and her seemingly unnatural ability to survive nearly any situation thrown helped her become a candidate for inquisitorial training.
Equipment: Khopesh: A khopesh that’s longer than its average length. It is 43” long and is used as her main weapon.
Targe Shield with Spiked Boss: A 23” diameter shield with a spiked boss in the middle. The edges are sharpened in order to be used as a secondary blade. It is fitted with a sling and two straps to keep the shield firmly strapped to the arm in order for it to be used as a defensive and offensive weapon if necessary.
Tomahawks: Three (3) iron tomahawks that can be thrown if necessary. Can also be used as a sidearm.
Carrying pouch: Belt for carrying medicinal herbs, tonics, and potions.
Inquisition Cloak: Barely used in order to avoid getting too much attention. However, it’s usually by her person
Knapsack: Whatever’s in it is what she owns. Mostly books clothing, and sparse amounts of gold.
Magic: Hellish Resistance: “Natural resistance to fire damage.” [src]
Darkvision: Aanshi has naturally superior vision in dark and dimly lit areas in comparison to most races up to 60 ft from her. Dim areas would be seen as if it was brightly lit, while dark areas would be seen as dim. However, perception of color suffers as she can only view things in shades of grey the darker an area is.
Thaumatrugy: Due to her demonic heritage, the tiefling has the ability to make her voice boom based on her emotional state. This booming voice can cause what most would consider as a supernatural phenomena signifying the presence of a demon. These include but are not limited to: making fires and light sources flicker, unlocked or slam windows and doors, and creating a sound from a specific point of origin that people consider ominous such as thunder and indiscernible whispers.
Hellish Rebuke:”Every action has an equal and opposite reaction…” With demons manifesting more as a intangible force than physical beings, attempts to harm them do not go unanswered.
Tieflings share this trait to a certain degree. When being hurt by enemies, Aanshi has a chance to momentarily summon hellfires that answer to her demonic blood. The flames will attempt to envelop the attacker for a few seconds, in an attempt to burn their attacker/s or have their flesh or clothing catch fire.
